We just stopped off for a tea break in Ballydehob on a rainy Saturday morning and found Budds. It is a charming place with fun pictures and things like the upside down tea service on the ceiling. We just had tea and a scone. It was one of the best eating and relaxing things we did on the weekend. The service was very friendly and typically Irish. Everything was very enjoyable and made up for the fact that it was raining outside. Would recommend it to any visitors that want to experience quality service with real touch of Irish craic 😁👍

This is the cozy cafe with fresh and tasty food you're hoping to find but you're worried you won't in such a small village, specially as a vegan! This was absolutely delicious, all vegan, and the staff couldn't be nicer! Pictures are worth more than words.

We were driving out to Mizen Head and passed through Ballydehob. We spotted Budd's and decided to stop for a coffee, spur of the moment. I had an Americano and my husband had a latte -- both were rich and delicious. My husband had a delicious scone with whipped cream and jam while I reluctantly tried a "gluten free" chocolate torte/brownie. I said I wasn't into gluten free, but they assured me it was good. It was beyond good! I wish I could go back and have it again! The owner and his son were very friendly, joking and chatting with us. They also saved us a wasted journey as the Station House we were planning to go to would be near closing time when we'd arrive. The cafe is charming and quirky. They also have alcoholic beverages and meals.

Vegans take note! As well as what look like really nice meat and veggie options, Budd’s have a super vegan offering also. We’ve just enjoyed a fabulous and very homemade vegan toasted sandwich, some hearty and very well seasoned vegan soup, served with a just-out-of-the-oven vegan bread roll served with seaweed butter, one of four available vegan dessert options (awesome macaroons guys!!), all finished off with great coffee! Service was also excellent!! Thanks guys!!!

One dish ( fish cakes) was good, the Wagyu burger was a mince steak burger, overcooked, tasteless brioche bun, very disappointing. Would not recommend the burger. The place itself is colorful and quaint. Clearly a local favorite.

Nice, but unfortunately as it lies on the direct rat run from Dublin 4 to Schull, expect inflated prices. We asked for a prosecco cocktail and while the presentation was good there were no bubbles whatsoever, meaning they poured it from a 'flat' bottle. We mentioned this when paying but they did nothing about it (a refund would have been nice). My crab salad for lunch at 15 euro was small but tasty. Staff are friendly, but not friendly enough to take our feedback seriously.

Came back the next day for dinner and had the most fabulous dinner, delicious food and wine and friendly and welcoming service. Will definitely recommend. 5 + stars for me!

Really fantastic food. Fresh crab (sandwich or with a salad) was superb. Menu was short but varied (including some dishes with perhaps a Caribbean/spicy influence). An awesome range of appropriately unhealthy cakes to offset it afterwards and quality coffee. It's tiny but they coped with a group of 13 without blinking and were very child friendly. An absolute gem and I couldn't rate it more highly.

What a gem! Visited here on a Saturday night for a mild hen party. Food and service were amazing in a relaxed atmosphere. Decor was comfy and contemporary. Not loads of choice on the menu but delicious venison served when I visited in January! They always do a vegan option (which looked and tasted amazing). Head chef came out from kitchen to check that all customers were happy after the meal. I would highly recommend!! Looking forward to going back soon when thay open fully for the season mid-March.

Gearóid looked after our party of 5 adults and 4 children with wonderful friendly efficiency. We had a lovely healthy lunch with something on the menu to suit everybody. There is also a very good selection of Irish cider and craft beer, and I had the good luck to order a lovely rhubarb fizz.

Very tasty home-made food. Always enjoyable, atmosphere warm and friendly. Update: I met family here again recently, and I'm glad to say that the standard of this great little restaurant has not dropped in any way since the pandemic hit. If anything it is higher. My keto diet was accommodated in such an imaginative and generous way by the staff. Having said I would order a local cheese and salami sourdough sandwich, and give the bread to the brother, the lovely waitress came back to me and said she thought they could do better than that. What arrived was a 'deconstructed' sandwich, in effect a salad, but a far more generous and creative plate than the contents of a sandwich. I was very happy, and remain very impressed. So glad we have such fine eateries in our locality. Thank you Budds 👍

Had lunch here several times while working in Ballydehob. The staff were very bubbly and the interior was equally delightful. Highly recommend the sticky toffee cake. The inside is cozy so if you are a large group you may get caught for space depending on whether its busy or not and the time of year but their is limited outdoor seating. Also if you're not shy, it's full of characters so if you get chatting to any of them you'll be in for a treat.
