After years of meaning to go fir Sunday Lunch at The Church, I eventually got there today. It has been recommended by so many friends so I had to try it. Our meals were beyond delicious . Beautifully presented and served by one of the most pleasant servers I've ever encountered. Was such a wonderful experience . If I could give it 10 Star rating I would. As usual Regina, Christine and Leo were there ensuring everyone felt welcome and well looked after. Fabulous, just amazing

Renovated and restored church to upscale and elevated dining. The golden crusted brie is wonderful, the rack of lamb is delicious and cooked perfectly, and the chicken supreme is filling but sauce on the salty side. The staff is friendly, food comes out fast, and the vibe ranges from oldies to rock to jazz.

This was the best meal we had in West Cork and the prices were reasonable. The service was great too. We had a roast, Indonesian Nasi Goereng, Warm Goats cheese salad, and a brownie and a meringue. Everything was lovely and we left very satisfied!

Just managed to get a table around 6pm when we walked in. Last table for 2. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Ordered the chicken wings to start with The Church homemade sauce. Very tasty and a nice sized portion. Then went for the Chicken Supreme stuffed with chorizo, spinach and sundried tomatoes with mash, vegetables and a jus. Didn't disappoint! The Smoked Chicken and bacon Caesar salad opposite was also devoured. A really impressive interior and worth a visit for this alone. Highly recommend!

Got take away from here and all of us were massively impressed. Monkfish is excellent, chicken burger was delicious. Same goes for the Pad Thai and stir fry chicken dishes. Highly recommend take away service, next time I'm down I hope to dine indoors.

Fantastic restaurant .Staff were excellent and service was Superb. Prices very reasonable . We hadn’t made a reservation but they fitted us in and we were grateful as we know it’s busy during this time . Food was just fabulous menu has great choices . The unique layout of this Restaurant taking into account the original features of the building and the well thought out design when re purposed make for the perfect location in current circumstances where the health and safety of patrons and staff is of utmost importance. One of many tales of woe surrounding houses of worship in Ireland also applies to this building. Now converted into a restaurant, the building is clean and attractive. Service was quick even though the crowd was fairly robust. Car park in the back. The food is well presented and cooked well. There is a focus on Asian and Asian inspired cuisine. Prices are in line with the rest of Ireland. Great spot.

Great location but too hectic and noisy when busy, it is probably a great place for a family or a birthday celebration. Food is tasty. Like many places in west Cork the menu is let down by a sad middle of the road wine list. With a little research into alternative wine suppliers in Cork and a little time spent training staff in the appreciation on wines, this place could have a great edge.

I personally ordered a fish based main off the specials menu, which arrived with the sauce on even though I requested on the side, but the waitress realised and had it replaced immediately, fish was beautifully cooked. I would have preferred to have given the restaurant two and a half stars, but it seems we're restricted to integers. Nevertheless, although far from perfect, the staff were exceptionally good and, in particular, the manager seemed extremely solicitous and driven to provide a good quality of service. I cannot conclude but that we simply dined here on one of its worse nights, but nevertheless, dined we did. The food was very good, but just too expensive (though this is the case everywhere in Ireland, I guess). The lights were too dim, so that my parents, whom I was visiting in Ireland, had to read the menus by candlelight. I had tried to order the fishcake for a starter but was told, some time later, that it wasn't available. The menu didn't really have enough of a variety of main courses for dinner. Lastly, the wine (a red Cabernet), although very reasonably priced, wasn't quite fresh enough. I don't want to paint an unduly negative picture here, however, because the truth is that the quality of service, in respect of staffing, and the location and layout of the restaurant perhaps, for all this, make it nevertheless the best restaurant in Skibbereen. Most fundamentally of all, the food TASTED GOOD. Perhaps this is all that matters.

Amazing atmosphere set in a historic Methodist church that was devastated by a massive fire and completely restored. Excellent food, accommodating staff. Be sure to ask for list of site highlights focused on during reconstruction. Stain glass is beautiful-wonderful place to eat!

I had the Sheppard's Pie and it was fantastic. Rich and meaty and the gravy was delicious. My meal came with a small salad and French fries. My husband had the roasted chicken and that too was delicious. The bird was tender and buttery. They stuffed it with stuffing and served it with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. The building was beautiful and I loved that they used pieces of the old church in their decorating. I also loved that the church is set back off the street a little bit and you walk through this beautiful tree lined walkway to get to the building. This is a must visit place.

Very tasty food in comfortable and quaint surroundings. We (my wife and I) ate here on a Thursday evening, while traveling through to Baltimore. The starters were delicious, a nice mixture of tasty, fresh vegetables and sauce accompanying the main ingredient (Clonakilty black pudding for me, chicken and bacon salad for my wife). Starters arrived promptly and we'll presented. We both opted for the 10oz steak (Sirloin, I think), cooked medium. They were both nicely done, enough pink to allow the flavours to flow. They were served with french fries and plenty of vegetables; green beans, tenderstem broccoli, carrots, parsnips, fine beans, sauteed mushrooms and crispy onion strings, all complemented with a mild pepper sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt the service was slightly slow, after the meal but that was purely because we had to get back on the road quickly to get to our hotel. It certainly wouldn't have been an issue if we weren't in a hurry.

The food was great. However, the waitress was so unfriendly as to almost be abusive, and ruined our lunch experience. I am a local and had a visitor from the US with me. The waitress did not greet us, pointed us towards a table jammed up against a counter in the corner, literally tossed our food on the table, ignored us through our entire meal, and never checked back with us, forcing us to flag her down to ask for ketchup and a second coffee. She chatted up everyone around us while never smiling, or even looking, at us. Someone else was at the till who was nice, but no one ever asked us if everything was okay. Unfortunately, even though the meal was good, I will not be going back, especially with a visiting guest. I was embarrassed by the server's behaviour.
