Probably the best Eddie Rocket’s knockoff in Ireland. Their tag line is “the finer diner” but Eddie’s proves there ain’t no finer diner than Eddie Rockets unfortunately. In regards to Covid-19 standards, I would say there’s none. One staff member wearing a mask out of four, our server wasn’t wearing a mask, stood 2 feet away when taking the order but was talking to us when placing our food on the table so possibly spreading Covid. Cutlery was placed in this round metal container and straws were brought out in a paper napkin, must have been taken from a multipack. There was a piece of paper by the till that was set out to collect customer’s contact information for contact tracing but it was blank and didn’t look like anybody had ever filled it out, we happened to see it by chance, nobody pointed it out or asked us to put down our details. All the reviews focus on lack of service and grumpy staff, have to say the staff were pleasant and helpful. Obviously they’re not falling over themselves to attend to tables but they’re not rude either. Food was ok, we ordered a cheese burger, veggie burger and cheese fries with milkshakes. Burgers were fine, the “secret sauce” was missing something. Cheese fries needed some salt and you’d definitely miss the paprika that Eddie’s use. Can’t fault the milkshakes taste wise but they were served in the metal shakers and not in glasses. Overall I wouldn’t rate the place and wouldn’t visit again unless I was desperate. They have a sign in their napkin holder that begs for a 5 star google review.

Not a bad spot, visited twice in a 3 day trip. Very very short walk from the G hotel. Food was pretty good, what you expect from a diner experience, nothing was extraordinary but nothing was bad. It's a kinda cool American style diner with high stools to sit at the counter and plenty of booths to sit in with family or friends. It's a fun menu with good selection. I had a really tasty vanilla milkshake (a little expensive though) staff are cheerful and friendly, the food didn't take too long to arrive. I saw 2 different parties come in with people in large motorised wheelchairs, the staff were helpful but not much room to fit them next to tables comfortably, which is a shame. Overall I enjoyed my visit here.

Stopped here passing through the city. Our server was not friendly and didn't smile once. The cook who brought the food was also not friendly. I felt like everyone hated working here because nobody seemed close to being happy. The food was OK. Not the worst but not the best. The portion sizes were adequate. The price here is pretty good for two people. This restaurant fed my wife and I when we were hungry but I wouldn't return.

Nice place to eat. I went there on a sunday so place was very busy which is a good sign for any business. You wait to be seated and they have a huge menu to order from. Price is decent but when compared to big chains like burger king or mc donalds its expensive. Nice comfy chairs and its an american style diner experience and the decor is good. Staff are very helpful and friendly especally the waiting staffs. I had to wait around 20 mins for the food which i understand can happen due to the busy footfall but if someone came to me and said sorry for the wait i would have gave them 5 stars and to me that little lack of detail was the reason for 4 stars. I recommend this place.

It's the best food in Galway everytime we are celebrating a birthday of a friend or a family member we always celebrate at shake dog it's the perfect place they have a great selection of food especially burgers and obviously we have our favourite but I can't leave without mentioning about the milkshake they have they have a good selection of milkshake the one we prefer always is the Oreo milkshake and it's fantastic they have a nice taste of burgers and also lately we discovered that we can actually add more ingredients 2 hour burgers so basically if you like something extra as like eggs or more bacon they can do it for you to cook as you like and it's fantastic we love the taste of it the atmosphere is perfect and also in our town it's very close to the cinema so basically we get our food before going to watch a movie and it's always brilliant because the worst thing is watching a movie in a cinema with empty belly so the burgers is perfect now the customer services is brilliant and you can also pick from different language because they have different nationalities working in their place so it's very helpful highly recommend them

The food at this place is incredible, they make the wait worth it. In any case, it is not appropriate if you want to eat something quickly, I know that all the times I went it took approximately 40 minutes or more. If they improve that would be an excellent rest.
