Reviews of Grappa Restaurant
My gluten free scone wasn’t actually that good - really hard and dry, pretty tasteless - but I did come at 4:30pm on a Sunday, and can’t expect much. The prices were low and the atmosphere was nice, outdoor seating by the river. Plus, having home made gluten free pastries is always a 5 star in my book. I’m sure if you come at a better time or in a better day yours would be nice!
Delicious cakes and pastries but you don't cover them and they are left exposed to customers and flies etc. Would u consider covering them?
Go here regular for a flat white coffee and takeaway there beautifulhomemade brown bread which is the best in sligo .Saff so friendly especially Michelle and siobhain this place is worth a visit it's like home to home
A couple of weeks ago I got a horrible stomach bug. You know when you have gotten over the bug but you are terrified to eat again? Well I was at that stage, but starving so I decided to go into Grappa and risk a bowl of soup. Bare in mind I am not a fan of soup, I just thought that it would be gentle.
I was given heaven in a bowl. It was the most gorgeous thing I have tested. It was fantastic. I'm not actually certain what was in it, I'm guessing there were tomatoes and peppers. There was a delicate sweetness to it with a slight peppery aftertaste. Cannot say enough good things about it.
I have since been in again three times, today because I was late I missed the soup and had a sandwich, tip: if the ask you do you want the sourdough bread, grab it with both hands!!!!
Another tip, if there is Terry's chocolate orange cheesecake, have a slice. It was so light and fluffy, not heavy or too jelly-like.
Finally, the price, the place is so reasonable! Today I got a sandwich and cheesecake to take away and I had change from €10!
Staff, I find are very helpful, pleasant and charming.
Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about the place just that I'll be returning many many more times
Lovely restaurant by the riverside. A varied range of dishes to suit all palettes, young or old, families young and older, couples and singles. Tasty well cooked food, enjoyed the pizza nice crispy thin base. Lovely wine selection, nothing too pricy. Well worth a visit I know I will be going back. Btw service was first class
Very friendly staff and delicious food with a lovely view. Sadly, not very many items on the menu, but still deserves 5 starts due to quality of everything! Highly recommend!
Siobhain and staff could not be friendlier. Home baking is to die for especially brown bread and her rocky roads. Covid restrictions adhered to without fuss. View of the garravogue is delightful anytime of year or season
Lovely spot by the river. Good value. The jam you get with the scone is probably the best jam i ever had
Lovely day so had a table outside which was lovely. However I ordered tea and got coffee and scone wasn't heated and butter rock hard. Apart from that great - Maybe waitress was having a bad day?
This is a really great place to eat when you are shopping in Sligo; the sandwiches are fabulous, they serve great coffee and home made cakes. Added to this very friendly staff and great views of the river - you have to give it a try!
Excellent fresh scones and Cafe. Grab a table by the river and 3 euro gets you a coffee and scone with a view. Good wifi as well makes this a nice place to stop and plan your day in Sligo.
Still only outside service but very good coffee & cake 😊
Fantastic food, baked goods, coffee and staff. Very worth a visit and sample!
Cute little cafe/restaurant. Friendly staff, the place is a little bit stuffed, the coffee normal. For a quick break its okay.
Lovely home cooked produce. Really friendly staff. Overlooks the river so perfect for people watching
Went into it for aquick cuppa...so relaxed spent more time than i tought ..had a few cups and a sweet cheesecake will call again
Great value location and simple food done well. Get the papers here for a coffee and a view of the river
Nice café we used as shelter from the rain. Decent coffee, good service, nice views of the waterfront.
Food wasn't very hot, teapot looked like the handle could fall of at any moment, disappointing for the cost.
I had a warm ham and black pudding salad, it was delicious.
Very nice place! A variety of delicious scones! Nice personal!
Cosy café with a beautiful view on the river and delicious porridge. Great for breakfast.

Very nice coffee & cakes
Excellent value and service, very friendly.
A lovely setting with great service.
VERY good nice mix
Had tea and a rocky road. The rocky road was delicious. My son had the hot chocolate, several flavours to choose from. The staff were nice but I found the older lady a bit short. I also didn't like the way she spoke to a customer that came in. It was around 10 to 5 and she sharply said "we're closed" to him, even though the door was still open. I thought she could have used a nicer tone or offered a take out coffee, after all it's the customers that keep her cafe open. The poor lad seemed embarrassed and walked out with his head down.
Scone and coffee. Superb
Very nice and delicious sweets! Come in and find out.
Alright
Lovely food ..
Excellent family day out
Beautiful food
Quiet, clean and bright environment with welcoming and helpful staff. It is a place where you can safely take a break and take time to read a book or a newspaper. There are toys for children (coloring books, puzzles...). The soups and sandwiches are very good! Unfortunately I couldn't try the desserts because there weren't any lactose-free ones.
Very cute cafe in front of the river. It's small but there are plenty of tables. If you catch a good day, you can sit outside, on the terrace they have tables. Perfect to go for a coffee and eat one of the different homemade cakes. There are always people and the workers are very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere.
Delightful restaurant overlooking the river in the center of the city. Excellent offers on the menu, good tea and friendly staff.
Nice atmosphere, offers balanced dishes accompanied by excellent homemade seed bread.
