Beautiful Italian restaurant in the heart of Sligo Town, great selection on the menu. We had the carbonara and calamari and the portions were big and food was tasty.

Had a really lovely meal here to celebrate our engagement. The atmosphere was great, coupled with really good food. We were seated by the window overlooking the river and I have to say it was a great experience. Food was lovely and the service was as good as I've ever had. 5/5 I would recommend you try this place if you like Italian cuisine.

Lovely atmosphere, food tasted GREAT and the portion sizes were quite generous. Covid cert check on arrival. Service could be a bit faster especially as it wasn't too busy and would love to have some Mocktails on the menu for non-alcoholics that don't want juice or tea. That being said, thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would visit again!!

I love going Rugantino Sligo I love Italia food I liked going the Lasagne al Forno the main Lasagne dish and Penne Pasta and go for the Penne Primavera and Nonna's Polpette meatballs come bread too I Love pizza's too and I would sometimes for Margherita and Americana BBQ base Pizza I'll enjoy both 3 pasta dishes there Pizzzas Lovely too I'll back here for sure as Food is lovely I fully recommend Rugantino Sligo to everyone

Delicious food. Great location next to the river. Ideal for a walk after dinner. We had the calzone. It was HUGE. They were happy to make us a doggy bag. Make sure to make a reservation it's a very small venue

Italian ran, excellent food. I had their Pappardelle with short ribs and Penne Primavera and both were amazing. I ordered some Bruschetta as a starter and it was was quite incredible. Also had the Delizia Al Limone which was the best I ever had. They even added some wonderful lemon ice cream to go with the Delizia and strawberries and strawberry sauce on the side to mix with it. Although you may not expect to go to an Italian restaurant in a smaller Irish city, this place was well worth the two visits.

Very good Covid precautions. We had to show our vaccine records to get in. Pizzas come in medium and large and were well loaded with toppings. Draught beer and wine were reasonably priced. Good service.

What a great find! If you're in Sligo and feel like some genuine Italian food, you won't be disappointed here. Everything was so tasty and fresh. Bread and focaccias are made on the spot. The service is very friendly and it feels like home. And please, if you order the carbonara be cool and don't have it with cream.

The food is incredible and service was great, but if you're looking for a nice ambience for your dinner out, you'll have to ask whether you'll be seated in the main restaurant or the takeaway section. It was disappointing that we got seated in the chipper section as this was one of our first meals out since covid started.

Superb little restaurant, felt like being in a little family restaurant in Rome. Run by two young men passionate about their food. We had the grilled vegetables anti pasta, my partner who avoids vegetables ate them fast! Cozy simple and great food. We had the pasta and the risotto! Lovely authentic Italian food. I've had their pizzas, pastas and calzones (folded pizza?) and can't recommend it enough. Desserts are heavenly as well. Averagely price, would be the price you'd pay anywhere else in Sligo. Perfect place for date night but it can get pretty busy so always best to make a reservation, especially during the weekends. Restaurant is pretty small but I believe they cater for large tables as well.

Not being a great pizza eater myself this Italian restaurant was superb serving a wide and varied range of dishes across all three courses. The wine menu wasn't too shaby either! They also sell take away food so pizza lovers were well catered for both dining in and taking out! This was my first visit to this restaurant, it was a beautifully warm evening so sitting outside, eating and drinking good food and wine whilst listening to the music from the pub across the Garavogue river was just a great way to spend a Sunday evening in summer.

I was in Sligo to meet up with a family member and arrived too early. I was walking down by the river and saw Rugantinos . I had penne arribiate which was absolutely fantastic. The penne was ardente the sauce not too hot and then the waiter arrived and gave me both oil. Brilliant. I will definitely be back to mop up my dish with some foccaccia

The Pirates of the Caribbean wannabe who “greeted” us needs a lesson in hospitality. We stayed, despite him. Calamari and vegetarian lasagne were very good. Vegetarian pizza was alright but lacked flavour. House wine was good. Nice looking restaurant. One waitress (Canadian lady - didn’t get her name) was lovely.

Just experienced Rugantino for the first time since April!! Sligo is saturated with restaurants including Italian but to be in Rugantino you might as well say "while in Rome" beautiful and authentic. Italian guys who have a real Italian restaurant where all the products are Italian, the water, the beer, the olive oil, the mozzarella, the cured meats, excellent raw materials, we ate divinely exceptional carbonara, super tagliatelle Bolognese and the starter divine, Italian cold cuts with a real Italian soppressata. However, if you are nostalgic for our country and want to eat really well, go there, top marks, prices appropriate to the quality of the products.

An Italian restaurant with very delicious pizzas. It is located next to the river. They were wrong with the turns, but in their favor.

We picked up food to eat in the hotel room. They were really very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was very clean and comfortably furnished. It was also positive that you could look into the kitchen. The pizza was very tasty but the penne with tomato sauce was quite unseasoned. Especially since the tomato sauce was more broth than a real sauce. The lasagna was very small, as if the other half was still missing, the taste wasn't bad but it also had no seasoning at all. The dressing on the side salad was also somehow missing. There was only oil on it. But I've had to have this experience here before, which is why I'm not so sure whether that's just the case here. If you're used to German food, it's definitely very strange.
