If actions really do speak louder than words then let me open with the fact I ate here with friends this Sunday just gone and my partner and I are heading back to 74 Main Street this evening for our Valentines meal. The decor is elegant and understated and the food is exquisitely prepared and presented making Prime 74 an obvious choice when you're in the vicinity. To be fair, they had me at the opening act of warm from the oven complimentary home baked Guinness and Walnut bread. That said, this restaurant is no one trick bakehouse pony. Each course was superbly conceived of and crafted and my partner remarked that his steak was without question the best piece of beef he had eaten in years. I might have taken that comment personally had I not been too busy feeling the same way about my salmon. It is a little pricier than the average Tipp.Town eatery but there is a very good reason for this; in this instance you are getting what you pay for and the rates are entirely justified. Staff are laid back in that chic San Fran way, they know their job but aren't over at your table, harassing you mid mouthful for updates on enjoyment. Instead they seem quite carefully chosen to intuitively know when to approach and how best to wait each table. The wine list is also appropriately comprehensive for the menus choice of dishes on offer and the staff more than able to advise on their inventory.

I was fortunate to go in before the lunch crowd, I ordered the fillets of Cod on pea purée and chips. The fish was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and moist large flakes on the inside. The chips were crispy, not oily and served in a cute little copper chip pan. The service is brilliant and friendly and the meal prices very reasonable.

Fantastic find in the middle of Tipperary town. We dropped in hoping for a light lunch but Sunday lunch was on - we asked if there was any way to get a simple sandwich, and we were very well looked after. Would definitely return for their toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. Great, friendly service.

Stopped off here Saturday night. Excellent place. Staff very friendly. Trendy decor. Extremely clean. Starter was a chicken and black pudding terrine, very tasty. Steak was cooked to perfection and a fine portion too. Followed by a mouth watering mango cheesecake. My compliments to all the staff for such a pleasant dining experience.

5/5 for Prime 74. Went here with a group of friends for one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time. The food was absolutely perfect and the staff were brilliant and very attentive. Would 100% recommend this place for anyone visiting Tipp town. If you don't go, you are missing out on a great evening.

Pop in to meet a friend for lunch, reasonably price cost €20 for two Picnic Sandwich, which came with soup and a sample of desert.. very tasty the whole meal was. This place is always buzzing when I go in. My only criticism would be that it opens late in morning, a good few times I’v had a business breakfast and its never opens before 10.30 .. and their really no place nice in Tipp to takes client to .
