I had monkfish for my main. It was pan fried and served with curried lentils. There were numerous flavors on the plate and the meal was great. Service was excellent and friendly. I was devastated when the lemon meringue was off the menu. Had a chocolate tart. I highly recommend this place. It is a casual dining experience - not cheap - but worth it except for the dessert.

Funny enough only ate here as all other places were booked out. However, the food was absolutely marvelous and so surprising.
It’s a bit expensive (little over 20 euros for a big burger) but the portions are really big and you just gotta try it at least once in your life.
If you love cheesy melting, red meat burgers on brioche buns, you will love this place.
Staff was also amazing, friendly and accommodating to our needs.

A good drinks menu as well including a Belgian style blonde beer from the local Meacan brewery. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. This is a very family friendly restaurant and would recommend for an early dinner with young children. The menu has something for everyone.

They were engaging, remember, in times of Covid it must be very difficult to work in the hospitality sector, so fair play.
I felt that the donuts were possibly overpriced but maybe the margin in the price had to reflect the ingredients because there were at the high end also.
I do not know anyone in Westport or anyone connected to this business just visiting for the weekend after nearly 20 years.
I would recommend this place to eat while in Westport.

R. L.Food was delicious. We got a burger and mussels and devoured both. The fries were lovely. My only issue was that there was multiple errors made in our order throughout our meal. A burger came with cheese, when none was asked. The cheesecake didn't have the Kinder Bueno pieces it was meant to and no tea came after it was ordered. This was due to the waiters not writing the orders down. Although they were very pleasant, this unfortunate lack of detail leaves a bittersweet taste. Please write all orders down, however small and these mistakes wont happen.

The prices are a bit higher than in usual restaurants or in a pub but absolutely reasonable and worth it.

H. V. d. P.3 stars seems a bit mean for what is good food, but 4 stars seems too generous for what is bad service. Or it was on the night I was there anyway. (07/08/19) So I’d say here there’s good quality meat and seafood being prepared with care behind the scenes but that delivery is poor. I’m aware that restaurateurs find it difficult to make money on food on account of all the costs of rent and insurance in Ireland and they struggle to make ends meet but I don’t understand why this so often means poorly trained staff. The two people serving us were friendly enough but inattentive, unpolished and unprofessional. I prefer professionalism to friendliness. I particularly don’t like staff constantly saying “no problem” when one asks for something. I am not anticipating a problem when I ask for a fork, or a menu, or a pepper mill. I don’t need staff hovering over me all the time but in restaurants such as this where two adults will pay about €130 for dinner, I’d expect more professional service. The two people serving seemed to have no knowledge of the produce or ingredients, did not offer a child’s menu (although I had two 11 year olds with me), and did not revisit the table unless called. One waitress came in and out of the kitchen with a dish cloth thrown across her shoulder as if she was serving in a greasy spoon. A French couple beside us asked her what sorrel was and the waitress said “ah it’s just an Irish plant.” They were clearly unimpressed. I don’t care for the new trend of wait staff having to explain every ingredient of every dish - but when I choose this kind of price level for dinner, I want service from people trained to work in restaurants - not from people who are trained to work in Supermacs. Tonight we waited 30 minutes after our main course before finally getting the attention of the waitress to see the dessert menu. They weren’t rushing madly around - they were just nowhere to be seen. We checked upstairs but couldn’t locate them. When one finally attended to us, she stood in front of us (rudely) with her notepad open waiting impatiently for our order. I knew my bill was probably approaching 3 figures and wasn’t happy with the attitude, so I decided to cut my losses and get dessert elsewhere.
I had such a great experience of Cian’s a few years ago and was really looking forward to going back but I was very disappointed. Our bill was €85 for one starter (mussels), 2 main course (steak & chips) 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio and 1 espresso. I didn’t leave a tip which is very very unusual for me and I left feeling that the waiting staff are really letting the owner/chef down.

Two hours later they were still empty, seeing that other customers had commented on the noise level it would have been nice to have moved us to a more comfortable spot. Not only was the food exquisite to taste, bursting with flavour, but it was pure Art on a Plate- magnificently presented. The Staff was young, friendly and enthusiastic. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
