A good restaurant has great food and ambience. What makes a restaurant great is its front-of-house staff. La Bella Vita has all three qualities in droves. We visited during a heatwave where the seating was restricted to outside only. This brought a further, authentic Italian element to the night. The menu was small but everything was tempting and, as hoped for, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Home made ravioli with a sumptuous sauce was just one of the choices. This was real Italian food using the best Irish meat and fish also. One of us has special dietary requirements and I mentioned this on booking. As soon as we arrived the waiter/maitre d’ remembered me and treated her like a Princess. He informed us that the day’s menu had been planned with her requirements in mind and she could choose from most of the menu. Eating out is a game of Russian roulette for us at times and our special requirements are often treated as a problem for the chef or a risk not worth taking. La Bella Vita is a Great restaurant though, with the best staff, and I wish them continued success when they open up fully next week.

Did not plan to dine here but arrived in Westport on a Sunday evening without a reservation with any restaurant and we were stuggling to find anywhere to accommodate us. Stumbled across La Bella Vita and very happy to get a table. Even better was the servvice and quality of food supplied which was excellent.

La Bella Vita was a delight, my family and I enjoyed it thoroughly! The restaurant is in what used to be a large house in the heart of Westport. The food was unbelievable good and had a beautiful presentation (take a look at some of the pictures posted). I honestly wish I could describe each dish that I tasted but that would be a book and not helpful here. The appetizers all the way through desert was exquisite, to keep it simple this little place took us from the beautiful country of Ireland to the flavorful country of Italy in the span of only a few hours. We were served by a man by the name of Ezio, and let me tell you, if you get the honor of being served by him you are in for a treat. He knows everything about everything on the menu and for good reason I found out later from the owner of "This must be the place (a small Cafe across the way) that Ezio is the owner, so treat him well, his passion is clear in how he runs his restaurant. Has become a regular stop for me when in Moira. The menu should have something for everyone and the service is first class. A slice of homemade apple or rubarb tart is a meal in itself. Coffee come with free top up. A credit to all involved.

Delicious meal of calamari and venison terrine, followed by pasta dishes of prawns and meat ravioli. All were delicious and accompanied by the yummy red wine Poggerisi Rosso. This is a very laid back establishment with great service and delicious food. Do not deprive yourself.

A family with two small kids. Very welcoming to our two year old and interacted so well with our waiter that he ate most of his meal! The food was delicious and fresh, the muscles linguine was gorgeous! We had to leave in a blaze of glory because of our 4month old so I'm only sorry we never got to order the dessert! Nice restaurant with average tasting, but very affordable, standard Italian dishes. The service is OK, but when they need almost 5 minutes to find out if there's a table for 2 free in a fairly small restaurant, something is not organised well. Free, great tasting bread with a nice tomato and rosemary spread, but strangely enough, no specific knife to put the spread on the bread. The pasta dishes are of average quality. Pasta with prawns was a bit dry, bland and missed a bit of magic. The tortelloni with butter and sage sauce was not very refined and mainly too salt. I had much better versions of these dishes. The bottle of Chianti we'd ordered was of a great quality for its price.. Furthermore, the setting is not very appealing. Because the owner is whispering all the time, the voice levels of the guests also tends to drop and that does no good to the exuberant Italian atmosphere you hope for in a restaurant with the standard Italian dishes. All in all, not the best Italian dining experience I've had, but can't say it's bad either.

La Bella Italia was simply an excellent spontaneous decision! The food was delicious and the people just amazing, kindly ... We feeled at home! I would recommend all people which are travelling around Ireland to stay at least 1 night in westport and absolutely to go to this Restaurant!
