Great menu and specials - primarily seafood but there were a couple of meat options too. Refreshing sorbet between courses. Complementary nightcap thrown in, in spite of us staying so late. We booked it on the recommendation of a friend but it surpassed our expectations. It had a casual vibe which I loved.
The menu had a good variety and everyone in our group loved their food. It was like fine dining but in a more relaxed atmosphere. The little extra touches were really appreciated and we all agreed that it was our favourite dinner in years.
Have recommended Westport to a few friends now just so they can go to this restaurant (and it is a lovely town!)
S. A.Delicious food! Their service is very nice. Eva, the owner very attentive. Before the meal they offered bread and butter but not just any. The bread, the butter and a kind of tomato relish which was so delicious— all homemade! In between courses they served us a sorbet and by the end of the meal they offered petit fours with a kind of sweet drink, homemade again! Everything was delicious! And to mention that the chef, Shteryo, owner as well, was so kind to offer us a lift because taxi would take too long. Over-all, amazing experience!

A. W.By far our best meal in Ireland, found in a little town almost on the other side of Dublin. Everything was tasty and beautifully presented. We got lucky and got a table by getting there at 530p when it opened, otherwise they were fully booked for the night. So if you are around the area, check them out, and if you can't get there early, call ahead and make a reservation.
D. U.Very good. Not excellent. Menu was interesting but not to my taste. Felt a bit old school, scallops, museels etc for starters, steak etc for main, panacota for desert among others. The main I ordered was very good though. The monkfish was perfectly cooked, veg on the side were good. Each to their own I guess.

Why not 5 stars? Because nothing is perfect. After an exceptional starter and the most intensely flavoured (8 hour braised) beef (cheek), the orange baklava was too cold to have much flavour and the espresso was underwhelming. At €22 for two courses or €27 for three, that's nit-picking.

Both occasions were memorable, with a menu that was a great showcase of local produce coupled with some innovative dishes. Service was attentive yet discreet, and overall ambience was charming.
C. S.Wow. The flavour combinations found in dishes here are insanely good. I had a starter of octopus with lemon curd. Somehow, it really works. The ingenuity in each dish makes for a great dining experience. Service was great too! Definitely one for the list.

Whilst the mains were cooked to perfection and delicious the side vegetables were nothing special, a little overdone and mediocre in flavour. 2. This is something I find annoying in many restaurants: When I order a desert and it comes with ice cream, as an accompaniment, I expect there to be an ample amount of ice cream not a teaspoon or a small dollop. That said, having eaten in many Irish restaurants during the summer, this was the most memorable and enjoyable meal I had.

I had scallop for starter which looked like Master Chef and had loads of surprises it was delicious. I had the pork belly again the flavours was really nice and the deserts were of high quality. A. R.We visited Sage a couple of Sunday's ago on a trip to Westport. Really loved the experience. We booked in for the early bird menu and the quality and value was excellent.
We had Killary Fjord mussels and the chicken and ham hock croquettes to start. The green curry broth with the mussels was delicious, and the croquettes golden brown, crunchy and the green tomato and apple relish beautifully sharp and a great accompaniment.
For mains we had the beef cheek (which I knew I was going to have a week before when we booked) and the fish of the day. The braised daube I loved, rich, tender and the sauce was packed full of flavour. I only has a wee taste of the fish dish, Carmel loved it.
I had the chocolate delice for dessert and finally we had a shot of apple schnapps presented to us with some home made petit fours.
Attentive and really knowledgeable service, there's a love and pride of the food served here and it shows. Definately will return the next time we're over in this part of the country.

D. W.Amazing food and table service. They were able to accommodate our booking for a large group and the entire group enjoyed their meal. The vegetarian menu is extensive, enjoyable and also has lower prices compared to the meat options which many restaurants tend to miss.
Gave us small sweets and a shot of schnapps to close off the meal.

R. O.Tuesday night in early December was buzzing in a quiet sort of way. All 5 of us loved our food, ranging from pheasant to rabbit, scallops to salmon, and ganache to baklava. The staff were pleasant, attentive and efficient. The complimentary extras, including an extraordinary rum sorbet palate cleanser with a delightfully smooth texture, a selection of petit fours, and a postprandial schnapps, made the experience even more special. I would also consider it very good value for money.

Z. V.I was on a "mini vacation" and looking for a nice place to treat myself at and damn did I do a good job. I ordered the Surf and Turf and a glass of wine and it is easily some of the best food I've had in Ireland. The homemade gravy sauce at the bottom of the dish is amazing and the pork and octopus is made to perfection.
Even after my meal I was provided with delicious tea (just for checking in on Facebook) and a small dessert platter, all for no additional cost. Just that small sampling of dessert made me so tempted to get more (but I had some moderate self control this time).
This place is 100% worth the price (even if it is not the early bird special) and I'd definitely stop by if you are in Westport. Make sure that you give yourself time to really savor the food because it is worth it. Also make sure you get a reservation beforehand; it seems to get packed especially on a Friday or Saturday .
