We had a lovely evening in Sol Rio restaurant, we were asked for the Covid Cert and the service was excellent. They had gluten free options as well. The food was amazing. We highly recommend it.

Decent food with good selection of gluten free and vegetarian options. Some dishes could do with attention, but overall we had a pleasant meal. It helped that we had a great waiter who looked after us very well, even though we were tucked away at the side of the building for outdoor dining.

The restaurant decor is very cute, and the food is great! We tried their seafood stew, curry chicken burger, and vegetable soup of the day! Super tasty! We arrived Westport around 1pm on Monday. So glade that they were open for late lunch on Monday. The waitress and the owners were very friendly. We asked for a few local tips, and they were kind to help us!

We had a lovely evening in Sol Rio today. Sineád was the hostess with the mostess and her Portuguese husband cooks food to die for. The restaurant was spotless, cosy and central. It felt so 'Covid-Safe', the vaccine passport was requested. I had the Mexican Salad and Beef Medallions, gorgeous. My husband had the soup and Pork/lamb main.It deserves all it's awards, we will be back.

What a gem in Westport. Went for early dinner, the service despite all the situation now was great. Food its fantastic - we opted for early bird menu. Starters were just amazing - scallop with black pudding and wild mushroom ravioli. Perfectly prepared, served and the flavors were just amazing. The mains (linguini calamari & chicken anglaise) also perfectly cooked and so delicious.

Arrived at Sol Rio just in time for the early bird menu, and was greeted by a young man who took our names and phone number and advised us to use sanitizer before entering the restaurant. The service, and more importantly the food was great. I had calamari and king prawn with gluten free pasta, very nice. My wife had tempura prawn and calamari, drier dish, and very tasty; washed down with excellent Sauvignon Blanc..

Invited by great friends from my lovely home town of Listowel , it was a pleasure to return to Sol Rio, for a delightful dinner , excellent service as always and pleasant wine .The spaciousness of the room lends itself well to comfortable conversation . This bright restaurant operates on two upper level floors.

This is a wee gem of a place sitting above street level with very tasteful decor. The service is attentive and they are very willing to cater for special dietary needs. As a vegan, there was plenty of choice on the menu. Coffee is good: more earthy than acidic. Would recommend.

Myself and my wife really enjoyed our meal here. The service was great even though the restaurant was very busy (especially for a Wednesday evening). The food was lovely and pretty good value. The complementary selection of mini deserts at the end was a lovely touch. I would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant. One of the great things about Sol Rio is that they have plenty of vegetarian options. Unfortunately it is not that common in Westport as we found quite a number of restaurants with no veggie options whatsoever.

Lovely food and staff very nice. Good vegetarian and coeliac options, both apply to me and there was a few combined options which meant I had a few choices. Deserts were really good too. Also vegan options. Overall lovely restaurant and good choice for families too

Unfortunately we had a bit of a mixed experience. One of the servers was quite strangely rude throughout our time there, I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day. Food was mostly good, the pizza wasn't great. Looking back, I shouldn't have ordered it, given the fact that it's not an Italian restaurant or known for its pizza, I just had a craving. The base was very uninteresting. Other than that, the prawn starter was nice, as was the arroz de marisco.

We had a very good chowder as a starter, followed by a very tasty arroz de marisco and a huge slice of cake which was good but nothing special. They also welcome you with some nice bread, butter and olive pâté and they bring you a small selection of mini desserts at the end of the meal. I think the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food and the size of the dishes. We were full after sharing one starter, one main course and the cake in two (50sh euros, including two glasses of wine). The staff was really kind and helpful.

We went on Sunday evening. There was a nice buzz in the busy dining room. We had two mains and a carafe of Portuguese wine. My lasagne was excellent, home made pasta and a delicious Bolognese sauce. The other main was marisco (I think), one of their specialties, crammed full of fresh shellfish. The carafe of wine was very nice. We did not have dessert but did enjoy the complimentary petit fours, which were delicious. I thought the entire meal was excellent value for €50.00 Staff were lovely and very pleasant. A very nice experience and great value. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Westport

Searching for an Early Bird menu on a cold Wednesday evening, we came across Sol Rio..The flight of stairs up to the entrance was a bit off-putting but the warm welcome made up for that..We were placed at a window table with an electric radiator to ensure our comfort..Limited but interesting menu from which I chose Seafood Linguine as my main and was delighted with it..

We loved this restaurant owned by husband and wife (Sinead Lambert and Jose Barroso) The food and service was wonderful ,fresh and home-made by the owner-chef Jose while his wife Sinead served us and actually took the time to sit down with us and hand wrote us directions on the best attractions to go to . It was a great experience and a highlight to our trip. Sinead gave us an insiders perspective on some of the most beautiful mountain and coastal views near Leenan and Westport. Thanks again Sinead and Jose.

Went there as a couple on a Saturday evening. We both ordered pizza and were very satisfied. The bread that was served beforehand was delicious. Location of the restaurant is good, toilets were clean and the service was very friendly! Addition: we only saw wine on the menu, no beer. Perfect for us, other visitors might want to know this ;)
