D. C.High standard of food as always. Good modern twist on Irish style food. We were a party of five, four of the mains arrived together while the last one appeared when the rest were nearly finished. It was explained to us that there are only two chef's in the kitchen to maintain social distancing as they would normally have four or five chefs. Understandable, but would have been better if they staggered it a bit more rather than leave one person to eat on their own. Only thing to note was the apple crumble, very heavily spiced and not enough crumble, nit picking but the quality is normally so high. The beetroot panna cotta was sublime.
A. N.This is now my favourite restaurant in Ireland! The food was so good we couldn't help but be vocal about it 😋 Book well in advance because this place is always booked up and I am not surprised!! They cater for gluten free too and boy is it delicious!! Thank you !!
D. S.Good set-price menu for a three course meal. Nice choice of four or five dishes for each course, all well presented and very tasty. Recommended.
M.Having looked at a number of menus and reviews for restaurants in Wexford town I booked a 6pm meal for two in Cistín Eile for Bank Holiday Monday. To say each course was delicious is an understatement. It truly was an outstanding meal with my slow cooked beef among the highlights. My friend and I would definitely eat there again when next in Wexford and that is the best recommendation I can give.

B. P.Went for dinner, super generous portions with fantastic presentation and a consistency of flavour which was laudable. Honestly having come here the day after having dinner at Guilbaud’s in Dublin the bar was set high and let me say this place delivered.
I went with the hen egg, chip, and bacon salad to start, with a slow cooked beef dish, as a main and a wonderful trifle to finish. My girlfriend the black and white pudding started with lamb shoulder and panna cotta for dessert. I also tried one of their clever man stouts which was smoked in a Peaty scent for a delicious and unique Irish twist on an excellent Porter.
To anyone with a meal to spend in Wexford, don’t miss the opportunity to check this place out.

P. J.If the thought of Irish based haute cuisine-esque food has your eyes rolling in their sockets, then think again. There is nothing done for show here. Cistín Eile's attention to detail with the combinations of their flavours on your plate is wonderful. Went there again recently with a friend. I had the beef rissole, which while tasty on its own, was elevated by the lovely sauces. My friend had the black and white pudding and said it was delicious. A must visit while in Wexford. A tad expensive, admittedly, but worth it. Do book in advance though as it is a busy spot.

C.Visited her with my partner recently. I ordered the slow cook beef main, and the soup as starter. The starter was straight away lovely. But the minute the main course came out, it was something else. The beef itself was cooked perfectly. You didn't even need a knife to cut through it. The sides that come with the main also suit the different kind of tastes and textures. Has a load of wine and craft beers to chose from to help wash it done. The staff were very friendly and the premises itself were spotless. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something delicious.

D. S.Food was delicious for the adults but there was no kids options and the adult plates we ordered for our 4 and 2 year old daughters was simply too sophisticated for their palets. Would benefit from more children friendly food options and perhaps a baby high chair. Price and ambiance was nice.

O. D.Wonderful restaurant. Booking in advance is essential. Allergies can be catered for and are taken very seriously. The chef approached our table to ensure he fully understood one of our party's allergies (nuts and peas) and check whether she had her epi-pen. Those susceptible to air-borne allergens need to give the kitchen 24 hours notice as they'll give the place a deep clean. They are very careful but as the chef explained, they do use nuts in the kitchen and it's a small kitchen so as always, it's at the diner's own risk.
Wait staff were courteous, polite and friendly throughout. The meal was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Prices very reasonable. Thoroughly recommend.
T. B.One of the best restaurants in Wexford to spend your money at. Great modern Irish food and great staff. Top it off with the fact the chef is brilliant with great local products.
Reservations a week out are your best bet as the place rarely has an empty seat. Also worth noting, the chef can be temperamental and have a problem with you if you have an issue with their food or God forbid an issue with their food pics. Good luck and have fun!

M. T.Excellent find! We stopped here for lunch as it was recommended by our Frommers guide. Parking was a bit of a problem but there are public lots in town. Although the restaurant is small and busy we were seated quickly. The soup of the day and the warm chicken Caesars salad was fabulous, as was the apple crumble for dessert. Highly recommend!

F. B.Lunch menu is great if your looking for something a little different, you must try their open turkey sandwich or their chicken sandwich I could keep recommending different dishes but you should just go and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Staff are great and service is fast.

On a recent visit with my nephew (on holiday from US) who has a Nut Allergy, his comment was never has he been to a Restaurant where staff are so informed about his condition and where the Chef/Owner comes to the table to discuss your allergy and choices. Cistín Eile is not to be missed when visiting Wexford.
