Our Mother - Phyllis - moved in to Esker Lodge Nursing Home in June 2014. We love our mum so so much and it was a very very difficult decision for our family to make to move her from her own home of over 65 years to a nursing home. We need not have worried. The care and attention Mam receives in Esker Lodge is second to none. The carers are just wonderful and the environment is like a home from home. When we visit her we have quality time with Mam and are made so welcome by the staff - no matter what time of the day we arrive - which is very regularly - there is always a welcome there. We would have no hesitation in recommending Esker Lodge Nursing Home. McKeon Family Mary, Margaret, Roisin, Andy and Micheál.

Our dear Mother, Teresa Brady moved in to Esker Lodge N/Home in April 2013. Due to Mam's progressive Alzheimer's complaint we as a family felt it was unsafe for her to live in her own home. As you can image this was the toughest decision my family & I ever had to make, but thankfully we did and it has been a good decision and we have no regrets. Esker Lodge has given us peace of mind knowing that Mam is in a safe/caring and professional environment. Management/Clinical/Caring/Catering & background staff alike have made my family & I so so welcome and treated Mam as if she belongs and they have made it home for home. Mam is often given the option to help with the distributing of water jugs, sweeping the floor and helping with the laundry, because of this interaction and activity with others Mam continues to be a very active and healthy lady. I speak of the Alzheimer;s Unit which is fully equipped to care for these persons with this terrible disease ie; large areas for patients to walk about to fulfill there curiosity with rooms and long hall which has different themes reminding clients of years gone by. There is also a court yard with raised flower beds, this area is ideal for the many BBQ's and parties which are held. The food is excellent and it meets all clients dietary needs. There is also a penned in area for the free range hens and geese, again very homely. In summary I wish to thank Esker Lodge Staff for giving my sibling and I peace of mind knowing that our beautiful Mother's needs are met in a safe and caring environment. The beauty is that there is not a turnover of staff thus that says a "lot", relationships between management and staff is obviously working very smoothly. I would truly recommend this establishment "Esker Lodge Nursing Home" to any concerned family trying to choose a Nursing home for their loved ones.
