We picked an October day that was misty and overcast for our horse ride (pony trek, as they say). But it didn't bother us. The whole area was beautiful, the ride comfortable and enjoyable. We were out for 2 hours in the evening. Even though we couldn't see the wider views because of the mist, it's hard to express how unspoiled, ancient, and peaceful the area feels. I don't know anything about horses, but my daughter and my wife are more experienced riders. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the ride (even though my 15-year-old is not smiling in the photo!).

We went as a group of 6 riders for the 5-hour trek. The whole experience was amazing! The horses are so well cared for and clearly love their jobs, the views are fantastic, and the team are a pleasure to work with. We couldn't recommend a visit enough!

I love this place! The people, the animals, and the serenity of the surroundings. Clare and Lily's riding establishment/bed and breakfast is always the highlight of my trip to Ireland. I am about to return for the 4th time in 7 years. Each time, I bring new friends to experience this gorgeous and unforgettable setting, and we always make a point to be there on a Thursday in order to take in Jim o' the Mills famous pub, hidden in the countryside. You don't have to have any riding experience to trek the legendary Tipperary hills, but you should have a sense of adventure and a love of nature. This is not your typical B&B, so if you are looking to be pampered in posh surroundings, look somewhere else. But if you are wanting to experience the "real" Ireland and meet amazing, like-minded people, you are in for a treat!

Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre is a great place run by two of the most welcoming people. All the horses are really happy and well cared for. The views around the place are spectacular. I couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone who loves horses, good company and beautiful countryside.

My experience was amazing with Clare and Dante! Dante was a saint of a horse and completely changes the stereotype for Connemaras ( they are known to be being stubborn) but he was an amazing horse on the trek to upperchurch! Clare was amazing and full of knowledge about the land and the history and archeological site that were once there. I felt like a little kid again galloping through fields! Clare is amazing in her knowledge of herbs and plants in the area that are beneficial to horses and humans alike and she really cares for her horses and the well-being of all horses! She went above and beyond both on the ride and when I rang for some advice later on. The pub is the most charming pub and I was lucky to have it all to myself, the food was fresh and delicious ! It was truly the best experience all around and when we do come back to Ireland (flying into Shannon) this will be out first stop! 10/10 and suited for all riders just be honest and humble about your experience and you will have the time of your life. I tend to undersell myself when in Europe as American riding is much different as far as cross country so I say I'm a beginner and I've been riding and training for over 20+ years just for reference. Honestly everyone should experience this amazing countryside this way and you won't regret a moment of it. Thank you Clare for one of the best experiences in Ireland I am truly thankful and cannot wait to do it again!

We had the most magical ride at Tipperary Mountain Trekking! The horses and ponies are well loved & cared for - true members of the family. We trekked out high in the hills with the most incredible views of Tipperary and beyond. Clare shared interesting historical stories along the way that gave us a better understanding of the region. My sister and I went out on a 2 hour trek with Clare and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. She was lovely and we enjoyed not only the gorgeous scenery and her vast knowledge of Tipperary, but also the ability to actually ride and gallop a few times which can be difficult to find as a tourist. Highly recommend, Tipperary Mountain Trekking!

We had an absolute perfect time! We have zero experience riding horses or ponies. My wife and I along with our 6 and almost 4 year old were guided and taken out by Claire and Lillie who made us feel extremely secure and confident. The scenic around there is gorgeous. We highly recommend coming here. We had a really special experience. Our kids did not want to leave.

Last summer I finally decided to start learning to horse ride again. I had done some pony camps and group lessons as a child at Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre when I was much younger! I fondly remembered the time I spent there, so it was a no brainer to me that I would return to Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre. I am so glad that I did. Clare and Lily are excellent instructors and are so knowledgeable. I should also mention that they are incredibly patient! I have learnt so much about riding and stable management. The welfare of their horses and ponies is at the heart of everything Clare and Lily do. The horses and ponies are so gentle and willing which is a testament to the care and training they receive from both Clare and Lily. They have horses and ponies to cater for every ability. I have to give a special mention to Danté. A superstar pony ⭐️. No doubt if you had the opportunity to ride him you would adore him just as much as I do! I would highly recommend a trek at Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre. The views are amazing and it is so incredibly peaceful. Clare has a wealth of knowledge of the local history which adds to the experience. Thank you so much Clare and Lily for everything and I can’t wait to continue to learn and progress my horse riding skills with you both.

I did a 5 hour trek with my sister and we loved it!! It's just your group and your guide so you get a personal experience and you get to ride at a pace that is comfortable. We stopped at a little pub for lunch and it was delicious! They know their way around the land and showed us some really neat stuff we otherwise wouldn't have even noticed. On a hot day the flies can be bad but the ride makes it so worth it! Prices are fair and the horses and people are just lovely; if you're into trekking or want to give it a go I totally recommend Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre!

My kids all learned to ride at Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre and have enjoyed every moment. They also learned how to expertly care for horses and ponies. The location itself is beautiful, with stunning views over the countryside. Clare and Lily have a great way of instilling confidence in young kids learning to ride and and can greatly help more advanced riders improve their skills. Whether it's for lessons, a trek or a pony camp, I would highly recommend.

Every time I have the pleasure of staying at Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre proves to be an absolute delight, Clare and Lily make for excellent hosts, the horse-related experience is second to none as master horsemanship is on display. Really can't recommend this trek enough , Claire and lily were so friendly and very informative of the area , we are beginners so a bit nervous but they put us at ease , can't wait to go back again .
