Reviews of Han Sung Asian Market
E. J.
This place is close to my heart. Its not the fancy place, but very much welcoming to have some asian food.
If u dont have cash, they can take your payment via revolut.
The food is always great. They made me fell in love with kimchi fried rice, and turn it into ky comfort food. The servings are very genoruous, and always cooked upon order, not to mention a free soup that is self serving.

Han-Sung is the place for Korean BBQ for sure! The sweet and sour dish is my absolute favorite to get. You know when you taste a dish so good you think about it for weeks, even months after? That’s genuinely how I feel about this sweet and sour dish. It’s so good!

Great relaxed dinner with friends. All the dishes looked good. I tried the seafood fried rice it was delicious and the portions were huge. Took home some pistachio cheesecake. Staff were very welcoming and kind. Very well priced for a meal out. Enjoyable atmosphere with other diners. Nice friendly place. The market at the front has a good selection for cooking and I bought some really nice crushed pear juice. Will definitely return to try more dishes.
A. A. S.
Delicious food and really accommodating staff, they make dishes vegan if asked. I'll be back, thank you. :) 💓
C. Y.
Tasty! Sea food ramen and eel bibimbap is great. Only last time I ordered spicy beef soup there was too less beef only onion and cabbage. Always buy fried chicken kimbap before work ❤️ Friendly staff and quick service 👍🏻

Canteen-type tables for a Korean restaurant at the back of an Asian supermarket, so no-frills then but the food is excellent. We had a rice dish, a noodle dish and some dumplings, all were similar to their other Asian cousins but were somehow lighter and 'cleaner'-tasting, so highly-recommended but be aware it *is* a no-frills establishment! :)

I love this place, it's cheap and cheerful, prices have increased recently but the value is still there. You can buy food and drinks up the front in the shop and down back is a simple looking canteen that sells the most amazing Korean food at amazing prices. I've tried a few Korean places in town and none of them come close to the food in this place. Try a Kimchi fried rice or a bibimbap, you will not be disappointed. I tried out the naengmyeon (cold noodles) on a warm summer day and it was very tasty.I can't recommend this place highly enough and still have a few visits to make as I haven't made my way through the whole menu yet. The boba tea menu is great too.

A Korean grocery with an authentic Korean diner inside, amazing! I had a blast eating here with my wife. The food was delicious. We ordered the seafood noodle soup and the sizzling beef. The price was affordable. There are a lot of other food options too. Im definitely coming back here for more. 👍

Very helpful staff. Cheap but delicious meal selection. Good place to buy Korean and Japanese ingredients.
A. S.
Foods amazing. Big enough portions for the cost. Better food than any buffet for sure. Well worth the money. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
R. S.
Best shop in Dublin to get Japanese items or lower priced Korean items that are good stand-ins.

Came here twice. The first time I got some Boba drink. That experience was pretty alright. The staff were nice too. The second time however, I came across a staff member who really embarrassed me for no good reason. I won’t bore anyone with the details, but it wasn’t the best experience. However, the food we got was delicious. The price was amazing for the portion they gave us, which was enough to feed two.

Wonderful restaurant at the back of the market. Great food and a well-done atmosphere. It's not too pricey and you get sizeable, well-presented portions. However, note that it doesn't have a toilet (at least not one we saw).
I recommend eating here! It's definitely popular and has some awesome choices. Also they do fried eggs as hearts! Cute!
Edit: It does have a toilet! Hurrah! A great place :)
p. g.
Fried chicken is just awesome 😋😋😋😋 and also the bubble tea
M. S.
The market seems to be very popular and have a great diversity of oriental products. It was a very nice discovery for me. And the restaurant is particularly nice and very professional, with fair price range. Korean and Chinese food are the best and even the soup it looks simple was amazing taste.
s. s.
Great place to buy all your Asian food groceries. Great choices and amazing value.
M.
Great Korean food here! Note that Food comes with large portion! (Which is ofc great:) )
Everything is really authentic . The lady taking orders is clearly Korean , she is nice and efficient.
G. P.
Recently found this hidden gem in Dublin! Food is cheap but very tasty and servings are big. Had chicken mayo one time, chicken was crispy and fried rice was flavourful. Had sizzling duck the other time, again full of flavour. Will come back and try the rest of the menu.
L.
My go to for cheap asian food. Mostly Korean and Chinese style food but worth the visit if you're on a budget. Small place so sometimes you may not have seats during peak hours.
A. H.
such a great place. come here nearly every week with my friend and have always had a pleasant experience!! food is delicious and shop has everything you could need. highly recommend
F. E.
I love this little shop for getting all my korean bits. They have everything you’d need for at-home korean cooking and the cafe at the back serves some great lunches too. There aren’t many veggie options but they can accommodate some dietary needs if you ask! I’d recommend a visit but keep out at peak lunch times as it can get very busy.
J. D.
It’s an Asian market as you can see from the storefront and many items displayed, but walking through you discover a little restaurant serving 28 variations of oriental dishes. Mostly Korean meals at a very affordable price. It’s a good option for those who are bored by the classical Chinese take away or all you can eat.
The cheapest option is the set menu: 3 dishes with rice for only 6.5€. You can choose between chicken, pork, kimchi and beef. Seafood as well served with rice.
E. T.
It is actually nice place to have a lunch.
I ordered this ddokbokki was quite big portion. but there were long que. so I need to wait for a while for order and the food.
H. C.
Favourite place to eat in Dublin. Cheap and some of the best quality food you can buy. It's like stepping into Asia.
R. F.
Really nice place! The food was super tasty and the staff was really nice... I had the Won Ton noodle for €8.50 and it was delicious!! Also the miso soup is free.
Warning: They only accept cash.
J. S.
Love the cafetería inside this grocery store, they have almost all the ingredients, even very local snacks that I loved from Singapore, I need for my homecooked food. The Korean food they served was delicious and affordable with huge portions.
C. S.
Really great food, delicious and well-priced. Am already planning my next visit!
W. F. M.
Korean / Asian supermarket that is slightly hidden. Surprisingly enough there is a food court style restaurant at the back! Ordered a bibimbap there and it tasted authentic!
P. S.
Compact store with a good selection including hard to find items like Wakama seaweed.
Try the take away down the back too. Food is tasty and the portions are good.
A. N.
Always well priced and friendly staff. Look out for your number after you order because they call it out when they're finished making your food!
Y. I.
Good restaurant, the duck with rice is delicious! We can buy lot of asian food in the shop
S. M.
There's a normal Asian supermarket at the front, but the real treasure is at the back - a small food area with communal seating, serving food you can't pronounce and have to Google before you order it, but it's all an utter delight. Huge mounds of spicy rice with fried eggs on top, a set meal of a mound of rice with 3 sides that overflows the plate and is cheaper than McD's...do yourself a favour and go.
j. f.
Amazing place to get korean products alone with the restaurant everything in one place one could need 🙂
S. R.
I went before Christmas last Year and the food was so good. It was tasty and environment was pretty simple (I would say). I would like to go again with friends this month, but I would like to know if we are allowed to dine in or not?...
S. X.
Love the food, it’s cheap, big portion, free soup and an absolute gem in dublin.
P. V.
I shop here regularly and always find everything I need at reasonable prices. I also frequently order take-out from the restaurant. Portion sizes are generous and the food is always delicious. Staff are always friendly and my experience is always pleasant. 100% recommended this place for both shopping and eating.
I. C.
Love the food! Cheap, large portions and delicious!
J. L.
Great variety of Chinese foods also great take away highly recommend
J. R.
Great selection of asian food products and well presented, clean premises
S. M.
This market has everything you could possibly need, from frozen dumplings to seaweed snacks! The restaurant is also quite good, and I'd reccomend getting takeaway from there when you stop to do your shopping, it's worth it. A great experience, will definitely return!
m. g.
I really like the small restaurant inside (there is a toilet for costumers too), the meals are very good and not too expensive...there is not too much choice from the menu, but you can't not find your favourite dish!!
C. A.
This place offers a large variety of food, especially korean. You can all the ingredients needed to cook korean dishes, as well as instant food (ramyeon, soup, pancakes, rice) and many snacks. I highly recommend!
F. G.
Huge portions tasty food. Found the staff helpful in explaining what was in the dishes. Kids love the raman noodles spicy. Being here a few times and will be back
J. E. S. S.
They have a lot of Japanese things we can't always find on other Asian shops. Furikake specially.
S. S.
Great food, great atmosphere, great prices. Would recommend sharing the food with someone else as the portions are big but amazing value
H. S.
Great Korean food there with good price!
C. M.
Small but everything that you need is there... Best value too..
A. T.
Sure nice food, especially the meatballs, and very cheap, 6 Euros for the rice plate, with 3 dishes!
L.
Great little restaurant at the back! Get one of the mains and you get a nice big portion of rice and a bowl for miso soup along with it.
**cash only
It was quite the busy spot really for a Wednesday! I got number 3 which was quite tasty, but not my favourite. While the sizzling chicken was very good. And yes it is indeed sizzling when you get it. Portions are quite big.
Friendly staff.
L. L.
Loved their food! Very delicious! Chicken mayo is a must try!
S. P.
Awesome and welcoming service, food was great too. Just the buffalo sauce was too strong
A. P.
there is a korean restaurant with good food! and the cost benefit is excellent!
J. P.
Good korean food and restaurant has very nice food and lovely staff
S. S.
Updated 2022: Their food has since improved again since my last review 3 years ago so I recommend this cute little eatery to couples and small groups who wish to have a casual and affordable Asian dining experience in the city. Their chicken mayo is great and so is their sweet and sour chicken. Fried rice dish is also tasty!
S. P. M.
Delicious Korean food at very reasonable price and very friendly staff.
R. L.
Great south Korean food with very good price.
R. A.
Going for the grocery store but ending having a delicious Korean dish at the back could be a great surprise in your average Saturday afternoon
A. S.
Ordered delivery, I live in dublin 8, came at noon, super fast. Good package and services, i gotten all my korean snacks and food here. (they have Chinese or Japanese grocery too)
R. T.
Really good cold noodles and not that expensive compare to other places
R. G.
Love this shop, I buy Korean ingredients here, like sliced pork for bulgogi, gochujang paste, rice, rice cakes, seaweed crackers. Also got delivery from them three times, very efficient, super friendly.
A. R.
The only place I eat at when I’m outside. I have tried almost all of their dishes and it is safe to say that any dish choice will be successful. The quantity is a lot for the price you pay. 8€ for one person for a dish is good enough. The grocery is great. I usually get kimchi, milkis. Mochi from this place. They have a lot of Korean food that is not available in the main Asia Market. The restaurant is within the market and is small and cosy. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Korean food.
P. K.
It's small but nice, a tasty and great way to introduce someone to the Korean cuisine as well as culture. There might have not been as much choice, when it comes to the menu part of the restaurant there. However I had a pleasant time there.
Y. H. W.
Small asian Mart (not as good as Asia Mart on Drury Lane or Oriental Emporium but still decent), mostly Japanese/Korean products offered. The small restaurant inside claims to be selling Korean food, but any Asian can tell it is Chinese (the staff are all Chinese as well) and food was okay not fantastic. If you are just here to catch a quick meal it is ok but I wouldn't recommend it to someone craving proper Korean food.
e. d.
This Korean market has great kimchi and (frozen) thin sliced beef and pork for Japanese dishes I love to make
V. N.
I do watch a lot of korean movies and one thing on my bucket list was to have a Korean black bean noodle and i did yesterday and it was fantabulous. Im actually craving some more today. The price was right and i cant wait to go back there.
A. O.
Asian Market in Dublin City centre stocking all manner of exotic foods. Reasonable prices and helpful staff.
J. D.
Food is really good and always updating. The portions are big and it's pretty cheap for a place in town centre
J. C.
Always had nice experience with this restaurant. However I decided to order bubble tea here recently for the first time and it gave me diarrhoea. realised that the milk was gone off. Totally disappointed with the experience.
P. A.
Decent place for a quick meal.
J. R.
So you can find a real Korean Restaurant inside of an Asian market like "hide" every time I'm feel like in a movie. The food is pretty good and you can eat a lot just for €5/10. Usually you will be surrounded for Asian people too, that's mean just one thing: the food is good. Recommended.
L. J.
This asian mart is one of the mid range ones. They cater more towards korean and Japanese items at a reasonable price. Hidden inside is a restaurant. Good portion for the price, do recommend to try it once.
P. C.
This canteen style Korean has always been good value for hot food and portion size. However today when I go there they have introduced a new system of serving the set menu: They use a sort of bento box now to serve. Reduced portion size and increased price. No longer such good value. Better go elsewhere in future.
D. I.
I go to han sung nearly every week because the food is amazing for the price. Both In taste and portion size. Its usually fairly crowded but that can't be helped. Staff are always friends and happy to help you pick a meal if you're stuck for a decision. They are also usually happy to alter a meal if you want something spicier for example.
J. L. (.
If ever there was a hidden gem in Dublin this is it. Down the back of this Asian convenience store is a fairly basic cafe / canteen type set up with an open kitchen and a menu with about 20 options. I wouldn't have thought this place was anything particularly special until I tasted the food. Amazing beautifully cooked consistent quality food. Every time I've eaten here I've felt nourished and energized rather than bloated and comatose which can often be the case.
The Bim bim bap in particular is a really lovely balance of rice, vegetables, and fried egg which comes with a sweet hot sauce. This dish is my favourite. The fried dumplings are also divine drizzled in a light orange creamy sauce and hot red sauce with fried vegetables inside. Amazing. I've yet to be disappointed here after many visits. If you don't mind fairly basic low key surroundings as long as the food is good enough then this is your place.
E. H.
AMAZING Korean food hidden in the back of a grocery store. Wish I could come back and order every single thing on the menu. Delicious highly recommend. Great prices, order at the counter, seat yourself.
P. M.
Hidden in the back of the Korean store you can find a surprisingly good buffet.
Hot counter plate (rice + 3 meat/vegetable dishes) is a safe bet - the food is nice and portions are very generous. Additionally there is about 20 more menu items - soups/stir-fry/traditional Korean bibimbap - all worth recommendation.
Great place for lunch.
K. F.
The restaurant at the back is easily one of Dublin's best hidden gems. Range of Asian cuisine of high standard, low prices and large portion sizes.
A. A.
Definitely one of the best Korean restaurants in town, and particularly interesting if you're on a budget! But be careful to have cash on you, because they don't take credit/debit cards.
A. Q.
Go here hungry with someone, get two dishes each, spend 30 quid, regret nothing. Best food at the lowest prices I've found in Dublin. If you love Korean food and comfy diner atmosphere it's here and Dosirak on Capel St. 🇰🇷❤️🕊️❤️🇰🇵
V. S.
Normal prices for Dublin. Very small and tight, gets crowded with 6-7 people inside. Staff very unmotivated.
L. D.
Lot of products but the staff is not aware of them.
I've asked for sesame oil (which is usually cheap or at least not extremely expensive) and the guy told me that the only bottle available was the 300 ml one for 5.50. Another cheaper bottle was just next to it. Good try buddy
X. T.
The cold noodle is not bad. I will come here again.
H. *.
Small place but large choice of products
s. m.
Amazing Food, great service !!!
T. L.
This place serves Korean food in the back of the market. Everything tasted good or great. The servings are generous and the staff is very friendly. The kimchi rice is awesome!
Cash only!
L. J.
Great products not that expensive like frozen dumplings around 2 euros the bag of 20 pieces! Korean Japanese and Chinese food! Fresh vegetables and fruits and in the back a little restaurant with Korean dish!
J. H.
Asian food market, not very big but holds the basics to cook Chinese, Japanese and corean dishes. There is one particularity about this place, there is hidden at the end of the store a small restaurant where you can order corean food like bibimbap or different kind of noodles and ramen. Cheap and tasty food. Recommend to visit this spot in the centre of Dublin
M.
Hansung is definitely a favorite! This is the place i always frequent whenever i go to town and their Soontofu Jiggae is just the absolute best! 😍 They not only serve food but they have a grocery there as well! Very handy and the korean grocery sells all things korean from Kimchi to facemasks! No cosmetics though, mostly food. 💖
A. C.
Get your korean food supplies here, including freshly made kimchi, seaweed etc! Also, cheap good meals in the small eatery at the back with unlimited kelp soup. Hands down one of the best value meal options around town.
j. M.
Best local Asian store with amazing fresh fish counter & friendly service. great hot counter
i.
The market itself is not too big but contains a lot if interesting products. Behind the store there is an amazing korean buffet, which is also very affordable and tasty.
J. R.
Awesome Korean and japanese supermarket ! You Can find a lot of products (gyoza, yakitori, mushroom, noodles and sweet food)
E. G. M.
this is my fav place in Dublin. It looks a shop from outside and it has a shop, but if you go in, at the end of the store they have a little restaurant with korean food, soup with rice or noodle and a few sides. The kimchi is spectacular and the prices, for the time being, are affordables.
M. M.
I bought some products at the market and have eaten Korean food inside. The price is reasonable and tasty even though it’s not a “gorgeous looking restaurant”. You must try if you want to taste real Korean foods.
L. L.
Come here for #sushi ingredients plus seaweed snacks. Great range of items here. Staff are lovely
c. t.
Has everything needed for Korean cooking, even has Korean bbq hot plate for sale!
