L. M.An excellent start to a wet day in Ireland. Vincent gave us an interesting and educational tour dotted with fun antidotes, he provided or should I say borrowed much needed umbrellas for us unprepared tourists. Well worth a visit.
B. J.Had a great experience on a walking tour with Vincent yesterday. Learned a lot about the history of the city and the country, especially appreciated the info about Athlone during the Famine and, on a lighter note, the history of singer John McCormack. The story of the Jacobites and the Williamites and their battles was also very well told. Having family history in the area, Vincent was more than helpful in discovering places of interest, and he really seems to be an institution among the Athlonians.
I recommend his beautiful riverside tour to anyone who wants to get to know Athlone.
