parking not great but this double ring fort is quite exceptional, gives great views and fits no generalization about hillforts.
Its inner gate faces (almost) westwards not northwards - the collapsed rooms in the inner wall open into the outer circle.... there are many interesting things here apart from the views.

There's not much going on here, sonits not going to take up even your afternoon.
But it is still a sight. To see the walled hillfort and to imagine the efforts of men to build such a thing. Truly remarkable.
There's no guide, very little information, and you'll probably be alone for your visit.

Very accessible, 2 minutes from car park. Small notice board with some history and dates of the ruins.

It is an interesting relic of ancient times. Not easy to picture it, relatively flat layout over quite an area. Adequate parking and an informative display. Worth a detour - could combine with the magnificent Brownshill Dolmen some 18 km West of the rath.

Absolute serenity, blown away by the size of the Ringfort.

Beautiful spot, it's a considerably intact hillfort.
Parking is a bit restricted but is worth the trip.

This is a beautiful place of history. Well preserved. New car park is brilliant. Definitely recommend.

A beautiful area of natural beauty. I have been here numerous times. Recently, they have added a car park which has been great for tourists and everyone else. There are multiple rings but the centre ring is the ring that is best preserved and visible. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful area to visit with grand, spacious views helping to paint a picture of what it was like 1200BC. Easy parking but no public facilities FYI. But it is a very short drive from Ballon, and just around the corner from The Chocolate Garden. A must for the history buff!
