Carrick, as it is known locally, is a very pretty town, vibrant, lively and with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. As a county town it has far more facilities that another town of its size might enjoy. Needless to say the River Shannon is a big attraction. The tourist office is informative, staff are friendly and helpful. The office serves the town and the surrounding countryside. One of my favourite things about Carrick is that it has an excellent bookshop
