a small Island with a nice Lighthouse and it is completely black. Nice place the Landscape near the Lighthouse is beautiful too. The price for the boat to go to the Lighthouse is to expensive... but it is place where you have to go

Really nice lighthouse! You can take a boat from Ballycotton port, it takes about 20 minutes if I recall correctly. There is quite a steep climb to the lighthouse, you might break a sweat! We got a tour from the lighthouse keeper who lived on that island for several years with his family which was fun and informative. You can go inside the lighthouse and walk to the top of it. The light in the lighthouse is not original, it was replaced by new one but its still very cool!

An interesting trip to see what life was like for lighthoise keepers. We had amazing visibility and could see as far as Maine head and the Galtee mountaains.

Always love visiting and staying several days in Ballycotton.
Debbie's first time and before we left she stated we are coming back.
The Bayview is wonderful, the food and the staff simply beautiful.

Brilliant tour to this lesser known lighthouse. Think that will change with the great tour here from the village. very good tour guide mixed humour with history and local knowledge to make this a memorable tour. can recommend for a family trip . Takes about 2 and a half hours. Well worth a visit.

Grand trip and good value for money. Very professionally run tour with life jackets provided for adults & children and our guide checked that they were worn/ fastened correctly. In good hands with local knowledge of sea conditions and captain knows when it's safe to land on the island.
Our guide was Derry who is brilliant, has a wealth of knowledge about the lighthouse and told the stories in a very entertaining manner. He was especially good at engaging the interest of the children but basically was great with everyone and did his best to make sure we all had a fab time.
It's a great trip and well worth paying the money, knowing that this is helping their plans to preserve the lighthouse and improve facilities on the island in future.

Hazel , the guide was excellent, the weather was poor but she put us in great form with her well told stories about growing up in Ballycotton

Did a tour to the lighthouse and it was great! Our guide had worked there years ago and was full of tidbits and knowledge about this lighthouse and other Irish lighthouses.

This is another location that is steeped In history, the lighthouse is a must see in Ballycotton. Lighthouses in Ireland are places that should be preserved and looked after and those involved in Ballycotton are really invested in the history and the legacy of Irish Lighthouses and the way of life attached to them.

An experience like no other. Take a trip aboard Yassy across the waves from Ballycotton Pier to Ballycotton Lighthouse where you'll be met by your guide. Wander the Island while listening to fabulous tales of time gone by when Lighthouse Keepers lived & worked on the Island. Climb to the top of the Lighthouse and hopefully get a glimpse of the seal lazing by the rocks or hopefully you'll get to see the resident goats. Hear the story of how the lighthouse came to be built and why it is black in colour. The guides are so full of information, you won't be bored for a second.
You need to ring & book in advance.
Family of 2 adults & 2 kids costs €60, but it's very worth it.
