This place is well worth a visit for shopping for presents and not least for it's tea room which serves excellent coffee & home made scones.
The location on the Caha Pass makes it a great spot sit and enjoy the majestic scenery literally 9n the doorstep

This place is gorgeous. The view of the valley is beautiful. The staff are extremely nice, and they have a great selection of products. The 15 minute walk around the farm is fun for families with kids.

Really nice place, my kid lived it, we were allowed to feed 2 lambs. Really nice handmade stuff for sell, staff super nice. The most stunning views, beautiful place
D. L.
This is a great place to visit it won't take you long to get around but it is worth going if for nothing other than the view it is a sight from top of the hill. The kids really loved being able to feed the little lambs with a bottle of milk. And a great gift shop with so many options..
M. M.
Was a beautiful experience so well done and really brought you back in time the shop was lovely and staff so nice and friendly really would recommend a visit
M. C.
A great place to stop, have a coffee/tea, lovely shopping and very reasonable, the nicest staff I ever met. Highly recommended.

I had no idea the place even existed but it is well worth a visit. The smell of the house and the dresser reminds me of my grandparents house so great memories. I particularly love that there is no set fee for the small farm visit you pay what you think its worth after you return the key. The scones are fresh and homemade so have one while you are there.

We really enjoyed our visit to Molly Gallivans! The kids LOVED feeding the friendly farm animals and I loved that they learned a bit about the history of the area and what life was like many years ago. The short film was interesting and informative and the whole experience was lovely. Beautiful items for sale in the shop as well. Highly recommend!
L. O.
We loved everything about Molly Gallivan's. We definitely recommend taking the time to do the walk to all the historic points. the staff was fun and friendly and engaging and we actually ended up coming back a second time during our week in southern Ireland because we found it was the best place to pick up items to take back home. Beautiful views, good food, friendly people.
J. S.
We initially stopped because of the sign for the "Druid's View" and decided to walk across the street to check out the cottage. We received a friendly welcome and enjoyed looking around the cottage. A tour bus pulled up just then, so we cut our visit short. We didn't want to squeeze into the gift shop or try and walk around the farm with so many others at the same time. Lovely views and it looks like a nice place to bring kids and see the working farm.
R. L.
Great fun. Tour of traditional small Irish farm followed by excellent traditional Irish food with music and stories. Lovely family hospitality. Enjoyed the evening a lot.
A. P.
Beautiful walk around Bonane... staff in Mollys were helpful and reassuring before we left.. grabbed some seaweed bath products in shop after. Perfect after a 6 hour hike..

Molly's house is situated in one of Ireland's most picturesque areas. The house depicts what rural life was like In Ireland 200 years ago.
The farm and walking trail is fantastic and if you are lucky you will get to feed the lambs.
The staff are amazing, more than helpful and full of knowledge about Molly and the surrounding area. It's a place that's well worth visiting. I would highly recommend it.👍

Wow, what a great experience. From 5000 year old Neolithic Druid ruins, bronze age copper mines, unfortunate famine ruins, to a 19th century working farm; you are taken back through time to see what life was like in ireland before the modern age comforts we so take for granted today. Highlighted by the delightful care takers who were gracious and happy to explain everything. We had a wonderful time on the 500 meter walk through history, time seemed to slow as we sipped warm tea and ate traditional pastries baked right there in Molly's old farm house. Please take the time to visit this gem, it's well worth the trip. Oh and the "poitin" is a must try to!
B. D.
A beautiful stop along the Ring of Kerry. Nice gift shop and even nicer proprietor. And the views are truly remarkable.
J. H.
If you are in Ireland, you must make it here.
This is truly one of the most amazing little places I have ever been. Just a wonderful place with interesting things to see and great people to be around. Rich in History as well.,
We stopped here while visiting from the US and I still thing about this place often. I thought we were just going to get some food to eat but the gentleman showed us around his farm. Gave us a taste of his Irish Moonshine (Poitin) and then sat us down for dinner.
In the middle of our dinner he entertained us with some great Irish music.
A really great highlight in my already amazing Ireland trip.
P. C.
Great views, great scones and tea, excellent travel gifts, and a must see donation only walk up the hill with exhibitions behind it.
M. C.
Beautiful place and the breathtaking view.. very nice owner, and beautiful shop. The best ice creams ! U can go up the hill feed an animals and admire the views on top the hill. One of the places u must stop by.
M. K.
it was a nice trip back to old times in rural Ireland.the house was very nicely laid out.it tells its own story.for folk tha wouldn't know the old farm machinery, one would need a guide of the farm area or at least better signage on site.the knitwear and goods sold were lovely and a great variety there.the staff were pleasant and helpful.you could have refreshments there when ordered at the main counter.its worth a stop off though.
A. M.
We had a lovely visit at Molly Gallivans. The walk through her cottage, & farm was very interesting. The video explained all about her life.
V. N. C.
An exciting drive under and through the mountains, this place was my highlight of our trip west. This little farm, run by an enthusiastic and kind team, ticked all the boxes for me. Affordable, fun, authentic, the place operates in harmony with its surroundings, as it always had.
Archealogically interesting, theres a bullán stone calendar that runs by Orion.
Short audio visual at the start outlines its story.
My kid was given a bottle of milk and chicken food, we went through the farmyard, paths accessible , a lamb bounded over to be fed, hilarious. We had lots of fun, a little exercise, tea and ice cream, learned a little, loved it.
T. L. (.
A beautiful old cottage with a few well preserved rooms, old furniture and clothes. An inside into traditional lifestyle and a story of Molly Gallivans. There’s a small souvenir shop, a few tables to have a scone with some tea and a short walking route around the house with chickens, donkeys and sheep.
N. S.
Brilliant attraction. Accurate representation of how life used to be in Ireland. Well worth a stop. Staff were so so friendly!
m. o.
Pretty park and amazing views. Cute cottage with interesting history. Best scones with jam and cream at great price.
M. D.
Super cottage with unique and vintage furniture.
One small negative feedback, no real espresso in cafe.
S. N.
Really lovely and a grest cup of coffee at a very good price. Would love to go back to try the pub some evening.
The staff were very welcoming and kind and the views were beautiful.
Our son fell in love with the sheep.
S. B.
Loved this place😍 it took about 20 minutes to walk around and just relax and look around the gift shop and enjoy a coffee
A. D.
This is best place in Kenmare. We bought sweater and had cuppa coffee overlooking the mountains and experience was just amazing.

A MUST stop. A wonderful family hosts you as you learn of life in the 1900's, depicting the struggles of single mother of 7 surviving during a perilous time in Irish history
E. L.
Absolutely amazing experience. The owner Steve takes immense pride in his business and if you are lucky enough to go on one of his tours you will be met with wonderful smiles, exceptional knowledge and an extremely wild sense of humor. Our group were in stitches from moment 1 and learnt a lot about the local area, Irish culture and of course how to make Pochine!
The family have invested their own funds into restoring this piece of Irish history. Make sure you stop by and support a wonderful family run business.
D. W.
Lovely little place. Friendly staff. Lots of woollen garments to buy as well as local pottery, Irish trinkets and jewellery and clothing.

Sadly Molly Gallivans was closed as it's off season..but just to see it from the outside was amazing such a pretty place and the views are breathtakingly beautiful
K. E.
Really nice shop and cafe. Very well kept
M. M.
My boyfriend and I visited the farm and had a lovely cup of tea afterwards sitting outside. The shop is very quaint with lots of lovely irish gifts. The history of the place was very interesting and the owner was very welcoming. We recommend a visit. Mary and Gary.
C. K.
Visited on 14th September with family and it very much reflects ‘old times’ by way of actual exhibits, animals and overall vibe. We had tea and scones afterwards in the old cottage and then watched the video which gives a real insight into our past. Excellent.
Catherine & family
C. B.
Full of charm and lots of local things to buy and stunning views!
M. V.
unfortunately this was closed at the time of my visit. Looking really interesting and on my to do list

What a lovely day out we had here. My children were fascinated with the old house. They enjoyed the audio visual & they loved the farm walk. We had super fun feeding & petting very friendly sheep, hens, a pig, donkeys & a cow. We finished up with delicious homemade scones. This place is well worth a visit. Beautiful views too

L. F.
Great place for lunch. Lots of local craft. Aran woolen wear.
E. M.
The tea was lovely. They brought it out to the car as my mother is unable to walk very far. The apple crumble was delicious. Their shop is an Aladdin's Cave of all that is good in Irish crafts. Thank you for the lovely experience.
A. M. E.
Staff are always so welcoming , great crafts in their gift shop. Beautiful stop off point
S. M.
Excellent little cottage with home made food and ice cream wonderful views also

I love this place. Beautiful shop, amazing staff and great tea and scones
D. K.
Highly recommended for a stop, especially with children. Solid mix of heritage from the Neolithic, the famine through to the mid 1900's.
A. L.
One of my favourite places! Very special. Staff are wonderful, animals are gorgeous. The history and archaeology of the place is outstanding.
I will keep coming again and again, every time I come over from Cork.
M. A.
Wasn't in but nice spot to look around scenic views
A. M.
Small house, frozen in time. Little tea shop and gift shop to side. You can also go on a little walk around the back to see an interactive display.
E. H.
Great location across from Druids viewing point. The house is very quaint and shop has a nice selection arranged in an interesting way. The coffee shop seating area is very small but there are some seats outside. We had coffee and apple crumble which were both very nice. Very friendly staff.
G. H.
Cool farmhouse and story, didn't have the time to enjoy it all but seemed worthwhile. The souvenir shop is well stocked and the main means for them to make money.
D. O.
Wonderfull shop and historical Place. Good prices for tweed.
C. O. B.
This is worth the visit for an authentic and different experience. They do a show of sorts on some evenings would have to ask for when it is on. They explain a lot and provide traditional Irish food. You can get stew or soup or ice cream or scones and also some brown bread (all homemade). There are also some lovely walks that start and finish from here.
C. S.
Pretty cool little place to stop. Didn't take advantage of all they had to offer with the farm, but bought some gifts and enjoyed a snack with an amazing view. The people there were really nice and helpful. Of you're passing through, it's worth a quick stop.
J. S.
Not to miss. We just stopped for a few minutes to have a look around the place. Nice photo opportunities. The shop has a great selection. You can see how the Irish lived in the past and get a feel for it as well.
If you stay not too far away, the visitor centre offers Irish nights with local musicians. If you are into walking, a nice trail leaves from here.
N. M.
Very enjoyable! Video was well worth the time. Famine cottage and farm take you back in time. Worth visiting for the pig alone. Steven was a great tour guide. The selection and prices in the shops are worth a trip alone! Don't miss this wonderful historical center!
J. R.
Great. "Tourism at it's best or it's worst, depending on your frame of mind" Loved it...guest's even got a taste of "Poitin" 😇
J. K.
Great history and wonderful people! Love the homemade poitin.
C. L.
Definitely worth a visit. Very interesting.
B. E.
Cute little tour that doesn't involve too much walking unless you want to hike some instead! It was cool seeing how people lived in rural Ireland before the famine hit. The animals are very friendly and fun to pet and the shop has some really cool things!
K. R.
Molly Gallivan's is a really lovely place to stop off when driving the spectacular Caha Pass between Kenmare and Glengarriff. An old cottage and farm, with a tea room, lovely shop and clean toilets. We've 2 children aged 8 and 10, and they enjoyed the little walk around the farm, looking at the animals and learning a bit about the local and our national history. There isn't a charge, but there is a donation box.
S. T.
Interesting stuff for tourists. Great view from the carpark, very "Alpine"
K. V.
This was by far one of our favorite stops in Ireland! We were there on our honeymoon and the owners were very kind and welcoming. They give you a sample of “Molly’s Mountain Dew” which was great! Highly recommend making the trip here!
M. F.
Brilliant evening - a must for anyone travelling in the area. Stephen and Frances are perfect hosts, the food and entertainment are excellent and well worth the money. The renovation of the cottages is great and the poitin still and training session is very good fun. A lovely evening of traditional entertainment of music, dancing singing and story telling and very good value for money - one not to miss!
J. G.
Do not miss it. One of the highlights of our trip!
We almost skipped it because we were short on time - but given their invitation to visit and pay whatever donation we wanted, we figured we could squeeze in 30 minutes.
The movie itself was well worth it. Very well done history. Near the potato famine ruins, you can still see the plot mounds where the potatoes rotted.
We enjoyed Molly Galivans so much more than the Beehive in Dingle (for which we paid $3 per person), so we opted to donate $5 per person.
In hindsight, we should have been more generous to this wonderful family for preserving an important piece of history.
Very nice gift shop as well with ice cream, snacks, tea and a bathroom - so it's a great place to take a break and enjoy some history.
m. &. j. m. s.
My wife and I visited this wonderful place on 24th July 2020, it is a wonderful quirky place with lots to look at and to buy, the owner and his daughter will make you so welcome, after your look round take a tea or coffee with a lovely scone or similar, you will not be disappointed.l
S. C.
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Molly Gallivans located in a spectacular landscape. Very informative and tastefully done and run by an absolute gentleman. Would highly recommend a visit here 👌
M. M.
Lovely spot for tourists .. a little bit of everything great scenery.
A. M.
The history was in lightning and the Apple crumble was great too
A great place to visit
P. N.
What a gem! This was an interesting insight into the survival of a local women up against the odds. Beautiful restored cottage, and the commentary by the owner was both very amusing and informative. We enjoyed a traditional dinner and sampled the home made puchini. Wow, don’t miss this place.
S. O.
1 gem of a place . Like my grandma house . 1 thing I didn't like was I would like to move around inside with out feeling been watched by staff , fussing . Just felt uneasy . Should be free to walk around the grounds to with out charge . Liked the donkeys and sheep . Great to look back in time with the house ...
L. S.
Best example of hands on Irish Heritage I've ever experienced... the staff are gracious and accommodating, the meal and special Irish evening was enlightening and entertaining-a must see if you're in Southern Ireland. We loved it!
A. H.
Really well set-up. The cottage is so authentic - exactly the way things used to be fado fado.... Love the 'coffee dock' with the China dogs on the mantelpiece for good measure. This place is a jewel!
P. M.
Great spot for a bit of pet farming with the kids
T. T.
Very friendly staff and enjoyed the tour of the working farm. We walked up the hill to the Famine house remains and peat digging area. Very informative. Nice gifts and crafts.
M. B.
Folks were delightful, lovely locally crafted items, fantastic ice cream. The story is charming and history, very interesting. Be sure to stop!
W. S.
This was one of the most fun experiences I've had in Ireland. It covers farm life in 1800's Ireland, covering a wide array of activities employed on this farm. (Cute baby animals and sharp Irish wit are also a plus!) If you can, have a meal here as everything is homemade and delicious. I wish I could have spent more time here.
R. D.
Great selection of goods, great for souvenirs and gifts. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Two from my party spent enough in here to keep the staff employed another month.
T. G.
Wow. If you're in the area, this place is a must see. It's got neolithic rock strctures, friendly sheep, and amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valley. Molly Gallivan was certainly an interesting woman, and touring her farm brought me great joy. Would reccomend.
K. G.
Absolutely wonderful!!! The fact that it is an ongoing famine farm intended to educate, entertain, and allow us to emmerse ourselves in the rich history of a beautiful land and people. My husband Mike loved his shirt and authentic vest coat. Stephen was wonderful and this Bird is proud to know there is an Idaho, USA, shotglass in his collection!!😀
B. J.
Lovely girls there so helpful too xx
R. B.
Dropped in quickly to Molly's, was a bit of a surprise find - but after learning the history, realised it should not have been a surprise at all. Selection of great local crafts here, and good food. Wished I could have spent more time here
S. W.
Yes! Yes! And yes!
This is a a place worth to stop and experience.
The staff is really nice. There is no entry fee for the farm (only a donation option).
The farm itself is lovely. There are some animals and it feels more than a petting farm. There are no barriers, so beware of the rooster!
You will learn about Molly Gallivan and her hard life. And after your stay you can imagine, how it has been in that period of time.
There is a shop, yes. And it is not more expensive, than elsewhere.
And they do good meals. And not too expensive.
Overall: Definitely worth a visit!
M. D.
Great place to visit. Amazing story about place which is preserved by enthusiastic family. Jump into history with the great hosts and feel the vibes of true Ireland. Definitely recommended.
C. S.
Nice shop and cafe , extremely helpful staff.
M. S.
This made our trip. My wife and I were driving from Bantry to Doolin and we drove by Molly's by accident. It was the best experience! The people who run the place were very friendly and allowed us to walk the grounds before they officially opened for the season....it really made our trip being in a beautiful setting and experiencing the history on so many levels.
The gift shop is amazing also! So many talented local artists and we will definitely be ordering from their online store.
J. C.
Very welcoming. The guy there was good fun and very helpful. Plenty to do outside of the shop and cafe. Well with stopping in.
S. B.
Nice shop a bit on the small size with all the stock they had. You can also get coffee and something to eat.
C. H.
Nice views. Clean toilets. As for the shop and tea rooms very expensive. €3.5 for an ice cream cone.
R. M.
The kids loved feeling the hens, duck and lambs! Lovely spot!!
J. S.
Loved the story behind this place. It had a lot of unusual gifts and beautiful Irish wool products. The people working were very friendly and helpful.
G. C.
Visiting Molly's Cottage was an incredible experience. We had such a good time.
I didnt want to leave, so I went back the next day to buy some of the very well priced souvenirs.
Stephen and Frances and their family all of them are doing a fantastic job, they are full of energy and go out of their way to help the visitors.
Well done and next time we visit Kenmare we will be back.
c. O.
Beautiful scenery & lovely hot chocolate & fresh scones.

A little touristy but it's nice that a local family is trying very hard to preserve the legacy of this farm and this region. Three owner talked to us and was incredibly friendly.

Traveling around Ireland I got a sense that the Irish people believe it is important to keep their history and heritage alive. Stephen and Frances Sullivan are doing an amazing thing by keeping the story, land (with ancient Celtic ruins), house and way of life of Molly Gallivan alive. I'm so glad I visited! The gift shop has wonderful items and the prices were excellent.

(Translated) Good food! In other words: the (vegetable) soup was good; a little faint according to some.
The sandwiches were generously topped with ham, cheese or tuna. At the end of the lunch, Stephen played two tunes on his accordion.
The story behind the creation of Molly Gallivans' pub is special: the burning of illegal whiskey. There is a demonstration and tasting on site.
You will also find a shop (craft shop) with various tourist articles: sweaters, scarves, rugs / plaids, T-shirts, sheepskins, jewelry. Too many to mention.
(Original)
Good food!

(Translated) The historic site maintained by Moll's family, though not directly descending on the knee, tells the story of the widow years of the surviving Molly story in Ireland. The house and space have been restored in a refreshing way and made alive by domestic animals and potato fields. The house also houses an Irish store. I highly recommend.

Mollin sukulaisperheen, joskaan ei suoraan alenevassa polvessa, ylläpitämä historiallinen paikka kertoo leskeksi jääneen Mollyn tarinan 1800 luvun nälkävuosien Irlannissa.
