Amazing place full of history and culture. Morgan is the most amazing tour guide. Absolutely brillant and brings history to life. Thank you very much we had an amazing time

Booked on a Thursday for the following day. Well worth the trip if you are in the area. Total trip took about 3 1/2 hours which included a stay on the island for just over 2 hours. Included a guide on the island for about 1 hour. After that you are free to explore the island by yourself. On the island you will only get some water so bring some snacks for your travels (no littering!)

We visited Scattery Island last Sunday. Having boarded the ferry in Kilrush, we landed on the island about twenty minutes later. We were met by a tour guide who gave us an excellent and informative tour of the Island and filled us in on all its history. There is also and information centre, picnic tables and toilets on the island and there is ample space to eat the food which we brought with us. All the staff, on the island and on the ferry were very professional, friendly and efficient and they helped us to make our visit memorable and interesting. it was a great day and we will be back.

We visited the island on 15 August 2019, a thoroughly enjoyable visit thanks to good weather and very professional staff. A very special mention to Morgan the tour guide for his excellent presentation of island life and history. Facilities are very good for a day out, and with tour and trek options, this is a destination for families and history buffs alike. I'll be back to do the lighthouse and gun battery walk later as the popular tour concentrates on the the churches and Tower for time considerations. This is a wonderfully peaceful place and gives you pause for thought about a life unhindered by technology and the speed of life. Highly recommended.

Such an interesting trip! Highly recommend it for all the family. We took the 2.30 boat and were back at 5.30pm. Smooth and short trip to the island on the ferry and then we met a great guide Michael from the OPW who brought us around the various ruins for an hour. Never knew there was so much to see and learn. Then we had an hour to explore by ourselves. We walked up to the lighthouse. There were families on our boat and the kids told me they loved the trip especially going through the lock... Well worth a visit

We had so much fun here with all the family and our dog Yuki! The tour is fantastic and there are incredible views on the estuary. This islands is full of history and you could spend days on it. Just Wonderful. We have just disembarked from a really wonderful trip to Scattery Island with Scattery Island Tours. The staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful and the boat is comfortable with great views. The OPW staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The island itself is a gem. Rich in history but beautiful too. Really worth seeing. We will definitely be back.

A must do journey if you happen to be in the Kilrush / Kilkee area. A 20 minute ferry ride to an uninhibited island that is steeped in monastic history going back to the fifth century with numerous ancient chapels and monuments. Take the guided tour with great guides who are simply bursting to tell the story of the ancient and recent history. A highly recommended experience.

Best 20 euros I spent all summer! Well organised, lovely crossing (15 mins) and informative and engaging tour on arrival with plenty of time to explore. 2 hours 30 mins plenty to see everything. I noticed that children also found it very interesting. Scattery Island is WELL worth the visit from historical, geographical and social interest as well as its natural unspoilt beauty
