This college is wonderful. I've spent 5 great years here, up to completing my Master's Degree. The lecturers are very approachable and the teaching has been at a level to where anyone can learn, from all backgrounds of life. I never did well in secondary school, however, I achieved distinctions in my course from IT Sligo - thanks to the amazing lecturers.

I studied here as an online student. Some of the lecturers were completely unapproachable and didn't answer queries or e-mails and shouldn't be lecturing at all. We had one that didn't grade our work on time, did no preparation for lab days so they were a waste of time when we did go there, and seemed to pull marks out of the air. To be fair, there were others that were absolutely committed to doing their best for the students and would go the extra distance to help. It's a real mixed bag and you may be lucky or not, depending on the course that you choose. The college itself is clean and reasonably well maintained, so no issues there. A lot of the exams are on Saturday and the main food court isn't open, so they could be a bit better in that regard. All in all, if you're going to choose this college you should be prepared to put in a huge amount of effort to make up for their shortcomings. They could be so much better if they were able to lose the lecturers that don't care to do their jobs.

The IT Sligo, this institute opened in 1970 as a Regional Technical College. Its was Rename in 1997, its is a state funded third level education system. It has three Faculties & Nine Departments. This is now one of the best IT in the country. Sligo, Ireland.

International student here. The IT is a great school but does have its imperfections. - It's layout and amenities are nice with a few places to find hot/cold food and beverages around campus, a couple convenience stores in and around the main building too. - Library is not very big but does the job. - Hours open so you can do work should be extended. - Knowledgeable Professors though the actual education system seems pretty laid back here. - Administrative staff are somewhat quick , but can sometimes be very unhelpful. - AIB bank on site (face-to-face/withdrawals). - Residences close-by with students include: Gateway, The Grove, The Village Clarion, Yeats Village, and Ard Nua.

following a 4 year degree in software development I could not be more happy with my choice to choose IT Sligo even given all of my options. If you want to do technology it is THE college to choose, as seen by all of our wins in the world Imagine cup and Games Fleadh competitions. The quality of life and night life is brilliant too. Its just fantastic.
