A.My husband and I stayed for a weekend. Had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and clean with excellent housekeeping . Decor of hotel very nice with ample comfortable seating.
Service, staff, facilities location all excellent. Good selection for breakfast and bar food available. Will return, would recommend.

The location was great and the area is absolutely beautiful. The room was amazing and spacious. The food was always really good and has an excellent view of the cascades. Both spa treatments were wonderful and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again!
E. K.Myself, my husband and 3 kids had the most fantastic stay in the Falls Hotel. The staff are a credit to the hotel. The room was v spacious for the 5 of us. The kids favourite time was breakfast. They loved the pancakes and pastries.
The food in the bar and restaurant was as absolutely gorgeous. I had a spa treatment which was amazing with Mo. We have stayed in the falls on many occasions and every time surpasses the last. Can't wait to go back again.

But I'm giving it four stars because the customer service was great the room was gorgeous, the meal on day two in the restaurant was exceptional. Also the location is really lovely. I would go again.
E. C.Fantastic place to have dinner at Cascades Restaurant. Beautiful views of the river from your table. We felt very accommodated and safe with all the safety measures in place. We came here to celebrate a birthday and it is a good experience. We brought our own cake and ask the staff if it was possible to take it and give I back later. The manager said yes and we ordered our meal. The service was quick and food tasted superb and flavourful. During dessert we were surprised as all the staff came out and sang Happy birthday to us. They even put candles and decorated the cake for us. Overall it was a brilliant meal and I would love to come back again.

D. B.Handy location with a great size bar. Very spacious with a decent selection of drinks. Food is good and prices are average. You don't need to book the bar but there is currently a cut off in the evening for seating for non residents. Best to check with the hotel in advance.
The restaurant downstairs offers better food and a more formal dining experience. Booking is required but the restaurant is large so booking should only be an issue during high season.

L. F.Enjoyed our stay at The Falls Hotel and we are return customers. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. I would love to give it 5 stars but the sound proofing in the bedrooms is the only fault I could find with this hotel. Maybe we have just been unlucky with the rooms we were given. I would still stay there again as everything else is excellent.

J. W.We returned to The Falls to celebrate our wedding anniversary recently. We got an online deal for €275 for a Room,Spa Treatment each and Dinner. I would have loved a returning guest price rather than a half hearted €40 discount. On arrival we had a nice greeting by reception. Following a quick check in we were shown the way to our room. Entering the room, we like any couple would have expected maybe some chocolates and a glass of prosecco. But to our dismay, we entered a dark, cold room with a "river view" covered by trees and no sign of a returning wedding couple greeting. We went for a few beers to the bar before dinner and we had to keep our jackets on as it was freezing. I have to admit, dinner in the restaurant was amazing with two fabulous waitresses who looked after us very well indeed. We tried something different from the menu. We had crabmeat and salmon/ black pudding salad starters and Lamb/Pork belly mains. And it was 10/10 along with lovely desserts. We enjoyed our night and returned to the bar for more drinks to which the bar men Luigi and Adam got us into the seat we frequented last year. It was an overall average stay considering I gave 5 stars last year for the overall service last year. I may not have left a 5 figure sum for our wedding last year but because of covid,we left what was legally allowed for the wedding and I think as a returning customer, we were let down in certain areas. Unfortunately this year it has to be a 3 star review. Hopefully next year, the 5 star experience will return.

Y. M.EV charging station wasn't working for the first night of our stay due to the app being down and the hotel had lost their fob. Rooms are dated and food is only mediocre, staff not super helpful. Spa was lovely and pool and jacuzzi overlook the river. The town is great for food and nice cafes with cool vibe. Lahinch is very close by taxi about 10Euro each way. 30 mins from caves and cliffs so great location

S. N.Very nice hotel and beautiful grounds surrounding. The river walk is very nice and we came upon the Donkeys. The food was amazing, in both the restaurant and the bar. Room was quite large with a double and single bed. Top breakfast with lots to choose from. The swimming pool is excellent and fairly big. We got a spa treatment while there which wasn’t very good. A little expensive for what we actually received. Maybe due to COVID but not worth the money.

Hotel is imposing and nice however for 4* and the price, you have some expectations. Room was big but up to the elevator shaft so we could hear the bangs from the doors and the travel. No more sleep after 6AM yay.
The "restaurant" food is average at best, but not price wise. Better food was at the bar, and normally priced.
Most disappointing was cleaning. No knock on the door for 6 days to ask if we need to empty the bins or change towels, or toilet paper. Had to ask myself for these basics. Disappointing and not worth the price.

D. L.We had our wedding at the Falls Hotel in Oct 2020. I would highly recommend a wedding at the Falls hotel. The surrounding grounds are beautiful and the hotel has been recently refurbished inside and is looking fantastic. The staff really went above and beyond for us. Michael looked after us on the day and he was brilliant in every way and had us right at ease from start to finish. All the staff around the hotel were friendly and made us feel relaxed on the days leading up to the wedding and helped us setting up decor in the room - nothing was too much trouble for them. The wedding meal was delicious and lived up to out expectations and more. We were delighted with the service and the staff were very attentive. We have a special fondness for the Falls hotel and can't wait to visit again soon for a stay and reminisce about our wedding day. Thanks Michael and Team - hopefully see ye this Summer

Would stay here again but would book a deluxe bedroom as they have baths our room had a massive shower nothing wrong with that but its a personal preference that I prefer a bath. The falls is beautiful especially when eating in the restaurant and enjoying the view. The pool and leisure facilities are excellent and are free for guests at the hotel. The little town is lovely and quaint and the people are very nice. We visited the cliffs of moher which is a short drive from the hotel I would highly recommend visiting the cliffs they are breathtaking.

N.Amazing service! Our waiter Liam was so friendly and attentive without being too much! Our family had dinner here tonight and I was a bit apprehensive about going out for dinner due to the current covid situation. However, the place was well set up and the staff had clearly been trained very well. Even with the disguise of the masks, you could tell the servers had a friendly manner. Food was lovely, but the service made our evening special, thanks a mil!

J. W.Went here for one overnight with two good friends. We were accommodated with single rooms as was our choice. Lovely spacious rooms. Restaurant was lovely as was the food. Breakfast next day was very good with endless choices. Location is superb for nice walks and sight seeing. Unfortunately, we had endless rain but got out and about Ennisthymon, including coffee in the local Little Fox award winning restaurant. Ennis is close enough and we shopped there as is an excellent place.to go for clothes shopping in particular.
b. f.Omar at the front desk was exceptional. We had an issue with the spa that he very promptly remedied and he then sent chocolate strawberries to the room. The gesture was really appreciated.
The images on the website are not a true representation of the hotel. It is more dated than the online pics suggest. However some rooms such as the bar are more modern in design.
Great food, quick service. Nice breakfast. Comfortable rooms, although musty smell and decor needs some sprucing up.
Leisure facilities and spa grand. Not fancy but everything you need is there.

The mattress on both the beds were very hard and difficult to sleep on. The pool is nice and hot tub. Food is average and bottle of prosecco included in our booking was not worth it. The location is great for touring around Clare and the grounds are lovely. Ennistimon is a place worth visiting for sure

M. S.First time staying in this hotel although had eaten in the Dylan Thomas bar over the past years when visiting County Clare. Can't fault the food, accommodation, setting or majority of staff we engaged with throughout our stay. Would recommend but be aware of two negatives. 1) the wifi in the bedrooms was very poor. Either the hotel has not invested in sufficient bandwidth or boosters are required. Losing connectivity every time you left the lobby is unsatisfactory in 21st century for a 3 star hotel. 2) A "sour" note occurred Sunday morning when it appeared to myself and other female member of our group that while men entering the breakfast room received an enquiry if they'd like a newspaper, we females didn't. The previous morning a different "greeter" had proffered that enquiry to me. Upon enquiry as to apparent difference in customer service the manager on duty utilised an explanation that the newspaper is freely available to all. No acknowledgement or apology that the enquiry was not made to us females.
I didn't find the explanation proffered satisfactory as it doesn't really explain a difference in approach as customers arrive. If freely available then why weren't the papers placed openly on a table with a sign? Instead they were behind a counter accessible to the staff member, with papers handed over when the customer answered the enquiry in the affirmative! I left the breakfast room feeling some equality awareness training was required or might benefit the hotel. This difference in approach was a definite turn of or "chill" factor for me. Pity as I had been considering the hotel as a venue for an all girl spa weekend should life return to pre Covid normality. However to be fair these were the only downers. Throughout our weekend our food was excellent, restaurant service not to be faulted and the walks available in the grounds pleasant. The hotel location is very central to both the Burren and the Atlantic coastline. For those with believers in fairies I'd recommend the Glen walk.
J. M.Staff were extremely nice. Pool and spa were lovely. Not a modern hotel. Terrible old plastic shower and taps that dripped. One window witch only took up 1/4 of the wall, letting in very little natural light. The pub food was below par, with high prices. Really old sockets on the wall that had no on or off switches. I left my phone plugged in while I went for breakfast only to come back and find that the socket I was using didn't work.
M. O. K.Stayed for one night as part of a hen party. Very scenic location! The food is super. We had a beautiful 3 course meal! I had Black pudding salad, Thai vegetarian curry and sticky toffee pudding all very tasty and reasonable. Rooms very hot, turn off radiators when you go into room. Breakfast was very good too. Hotel is like a maize. A few things could be improved. But all in all it was a super stay
E. b. 9.Really nice hotel, breakfast and swimming pool are excellent, short walk to Ennistimon.
P. F.Elegant old house converted into a hotel many years ago, with nice views. There is a gym & pool. A bar serving food until 9pm with large windows that give views of the water fall. Food is good, staff very helpful. The hotel is placed behind the main street so you can walk to the pub if desired. The bedrooms are big but a little bit of modernisation would not go astray.
M. O. C.Lovely relaxing hotel with very friendly staff. Ample parking, great pool. Fabulous bar & restaurant. Lovely walkway beside the river & the resident donkeys are a great attraction for the young & old. Don't forget to bring them some carrots!

The spa was one of the nicest ones I've ever been at. Treatment was lovely and relaxing and the staff were very attentive

C. B.Front desk as well as the restaurant staff are quite amiable yet the rooms need updating and SOUNDPROOFING. Facilities are nice however the pool staff was considerably rude asking us to leave the hot tub at 9:50; 10 minutes before close.

It has the best sauna I have evercexperienced....comfy seats looking out onto the river Inagh that heads straight for the atlantic ocean. Bedrooms comfortable, decor slightly outdated. Not great for disabled people though. No automatic doors, all manual. Difficult for disable person to navigate from the back entrance all the way to main reception.
E. M.I stayed in this hotel over the Valentine's Day weekend with my partner. The staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating! I requested vegan options at breakfast and dinner and they were so lovely to me and went out of their way. I've attached a little picture of the breakfast the chef made on the second morning. The hotel is situated in the middle of a gorgeous little village overlooking the Inagh river. You can chill in the hotel foyer by a fire or in the bar looking out at the waterfall. You can also explore the bars, little shops & cafes in the village which are all in waking distance. We had brunch in the Little Fox up the road (it was amazing, go there!) The rooms are very basic & clean but possibly a little tired. There's a note in the room about their 'keeping it green' practices which is pretty cool (see attached). We also went to the spa and had lovely treatments (but there was really noisy guests shouting and laughing in the spa that spoiled it a bit). Definitely recommend a visit, we intend on going back and doing a bit more exploring!
S. O. M.Nice hotel with good food and service. Our room however, while spotless and very comfortable, was dated and could have done with a revamp. The window pane was shaking in the frame, bits of tile grout were coming up in the bathroom etc. Lovely products though, great bed and service was fantastic also.
J. L. P.My husband and I went on a road trip of Ireland and out of the 6 places we stayed, this one was by far my favorite! The hotel is situated on a hill that overlooks the Falls and river. The outdoor views are stunning with a well-kept garden, the interior is luxuriously decorated and charming, and the room (Room 804 worth every penny) was not only the best one we stayed at in Ireland, but one of the best rooms my husband and I have EVER stayed in and we travel a lot. Restaurant service was impeccable, food delicious and not over-priced, and the spa was nice treat as well (although spa was a bit more pricey than would have liked). Icing on the cake, the hotel contains a huge indoor pool area with jacuzzi and sauna included with accomodation.

A.There's nothing nicer on a cold wet day than the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon. The cascades are spectacular at the moment, they are in full flow and their roar is deafeningly beautiful. Then inside to warm up and the choice of food is fabulous. Thanks for the gorgeous parsnip and curry soup today.. It was delicious!
V. P.I had read the write ups before going to this hotel and there were some criticisms especially from the French clients (I am bilingual and live in Paris). They said it was a bit run down, especially the bathrooms and the staff were not great. Well... I wish to say otherwise. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, on top of a hill with views all around, especially of the water fall near the bridge in the little town nearby. It’s an old hotel built onto a very old stone building. The hotel itself is huge. There is a big parking space all around it. The facilities are great: there is a pool and 3 jacuzzis. There is a Hammam and a sauna. All are in working order and clean considering how much they get used. The food was excellent. The fish and chips in the bar was the best in ages. The breakfast is very busy but there is plenty of food to cover all demands. And the staff were great. Pleasant and helpful, always. Whether the barmen, pool attendants or cleaners. A special thanks to reception because I had forgotten something valuable in my room and they found it, wrapped it and kept it safely until it was picked up. Nowadays you don’t always get that kind of service! The locals we ran into were very welcoming, especially the band and pub staff at the Coolies. So we had a great stay in a beautiful part of Ireland! I do agree the plumbing needs to be improved but my friends were in a room with a fully renovated bathroom and it was perfect, so... they are working at it. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

P. A.We are fairly regular visitors to the Falls Hotel, not as residents, but as diners in general.
The views are stunning, and the general ambiance is quite good.
The food is quite good also, but varies from visit to visit, and we've had one quite bad lunch there in our many visits.
One point I'd like to highlight though, and that has to do with the change we got after paying for our meals, on one occasion earlier this year we were short changed by a Euro (it's not gonna break the bank to be honest) but again only yesterday we had the same experience, another Euro short in our change.
now once can be a mistake, but twice is more than a coincidence.
If I'm going to leave a tip (and I always do) I'd much prefer to leave it on a voluntary basis rather than having it taken by stealth.
Other than that I found the Falls Hotel to be a most beautiful place indeed.
I can't vouch for the rooms, as we have never stayed there as guests.
The donkeys are a great added feature, and are very popular with adults and children alike.

Lol. If there had been a speck of dirt anywhere the lighting would had made it stand out but no dirt anywhere. Spotlessly clean and huge!!
We ate in the bar and It was wonderful. After dinner we stayed for a pint and enjoyed the live music. From Omar at the front desk to our waiter the service was impeccable. Definitely five stars!!! Highly recommendable!

Beautiful setting, friendly & welcoming staff, car parking, pool with spa treatments available complete with entertainment in the bar. Food was good, great selection of locally sourced produce well presented for the enjoyment of their guests. The bed provided a sound and solid 8 hour unbroken sleep which for me is five stars alone.
The local area is definitely worth a visit as it has some of the most beautiful and breathtaking scenery on the Wild Atlantic Way. The hotel offers country music weekends and provide entertainment, activities and much more for children!
Worth having a look at their website as County Clare has so much to offer you definitely will not be disappointed!

B. F.This hotel had very large well appointed rooms. My room was probably updated recently. Finding the parking lot is kind of tricky, you have to drive out back. The breakfast in the morning was your typical tourist buffet in the large dining room. The best part is the view of the falls out the front door of the hotel. Don't know if they have rooms in the old building that is the facade of the hotel but if you could get a room overlooking the falls it would be great. Stayed in October which must be off season because there were only two patrons in the bar which seats 100+ customers. Would stay here again.

I note another comment stated hotel needs modernisation, the bar shut on 2nd for same and will reopen on 25th. Bar menu and restaurant menu available in the restaurant. I asked for a salad sandwich and got a pasta bowl with well filled sandwich, rocket leaves and cheese shavings with mayonnaise, a dish of coleslaw and crisps -all for €4.50😀. Excellent value and lovely. Evening dinner was excellent and generous portions. Foyer looked lovely and festive, fire burning. Will definitely be back.

M. P.This is just a review of the Spa & Pool (we were not staying at hotel). If you are a first time visitor - just a few things to be aware of.
For the pool - You must bring your own locks to the pool, and when walking in and out of the pool there is a sensor that will spray you with water (unexpectedly and can be scary for kids). You can rent towels from the front desk, as long as you have $ to put as a deposit. Also a reminder for American visitors, bring your swimming caps.
Regarding the spa - I would suggest asking the ladies at the front desk to walk you through a tour of the spa first, as they're not very proactive with their communication. For example - we were not aware that there were locks, bathrobes, slippers available in the spa side, that there was paperwork to fill out, and never were shown/told about the sauna/steam room. Also - when booking, I would suggest asking for clarification as to "time on the table" or you may find that your 30 minute appointment is really 20 minutes, 10 of which you are lying on the table with the treatment sitting on face. (It may influence what you are willing to pay for). And lastly, if you want tea in the relaxation room, be prepared to ask for it, as it will not proactively be provided to you. That being said - the treatments themselves were lovely, and the rooms were clean.

I stayed with a friend of mine who had recommended her pleasant stay in the summertime. We stayed for 2 nights bed and breakfast and found the standard of both excellent. We swam in the pool and even used the outdoor tub, in the September sunshine. We had dinner in the restaurant too and the lamb first class. I was very satisfied with the whole experience of staying in your hotel, not having stayed there since the late '70's when I stayed with my husband and young children. Well done on the work of extending the hotel and enhancement of the beauty of the surroundings. I look forward to my next visit.

We went surfing in Lahinch which is only a 5min taxi trip away and got to the Cliffs of Moher by Bus Eireann where we walked to Doolin. Here you can go for Ferrie trips to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher for around E15pp. There are lovely views from the falls bar overlooking the stream and waterfall that run alongside it. The food is nice in the restaurant and the bar has a great selection of gins too. The service was friendly and the staff are very helpful too
