We had a really nice stay at the Galway Bay Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a lovely room with a great view of the Bay. Our breakfast overlooking the Salthill promenade was wonderful. The staff was courteous and very friendly. Bridie and Karolina in the dining room very attentive and professional. Their style of service was 100% spot in. We can't wait to come back.

I don't normally like hotels very much but my partner and I had the most wonderful time at the Galway Bay Hotel. The rooms were excellent and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Dinner was superb - we can high recommend either the duck or the venison.

Beautiful location, very accommodating and friendly staff. My wife and I loved the free Whiskey Tasting in the Hotel, which kept us entertained before going for our dinner (which was excellent - compliments to the Chef's!) The rooms were very clean, comfortable and warm. I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Galway.

Had a great stay for our Anniversary on Saturday night.
Room was spotless. Food in the restaurant was great and a special shout out to Rachel in the restaurant and David in the bar who went above and beyond to make our time spending even more enjoyable. Thanks to Sergey as well who was very friendly and made our stay a memorable one!
Couldn’t ask for anything more. Great service and great staff.

The perfect hotel for a midweek getaway, the staff are very friendly and we felt very safe with the Covid19 Safe Stay Code which is visibly in place. From check in to check out, everything was superb - high quality rooms, food and service. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary Whiskey Tasting in the Bar with David, and a special mention to Rachel in the Restaurant who looked after us so well for our evening meal. This Hotel is at the top of our list for best stay and we will definitely be back!

Excellent hotel in Galway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great to be able to go for a walk on the prom after a delicious dinner in the dining room. Bedrooms very clean and comfortable with lovely views. Hope to get back again soon .

Great hotel with lovely views over the bay and a little beach just in front. For anyone that's into cold water swimming, it's also a 5-minute walk from Blackrock diving pier which is a popular swimming spot all year round. We went in December, can recommend! The bed was super comfortable, honestly the best pillows I've ever slept on in a hotel! And our evening meal in the hotel restaurant was damn good.

We went to the beautiful Galway Bay for my daughters Confirmation meal. From the minute we entered we were impressed with the personal touches, professional, welcoming & warm staff. The attention to detail was exceptional from every member of staff. We felt special & were so nicely looked after it made it a very memorable & thoroughly enjoyable experience. We were never rushed and the meal was served in a timely manner with very engaging staff. Every member of the team were exceptional & Dan himself popped by a few times to see all was going really well. Thanks so much to everyone there. Will be back at first opportunity!

An excellent hotel with very friendly staff and the most amazing views. There is also a lovely Beachfront Barista with seating outside it at the front of the hotel. The Coffee is amazing and the girls who served me, Gillian and Tara were very friendly and made me feel very welcome at the hotel. Definitely recommend!

We had Christmas dinner at the Galway Bay this year and the whole experience was fantastic. Huge compliments to Steven, Alan and the rest of the team who made us feel so welcome and looked after throughout the day. We will definitely be returning!

Just spend 2 nights here and has a fabulous time! The staff are absolutely amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Especially at breakfast - I only had breakfast one of the mornings but the young woman who served was fab. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. The breakfast room is overlooking The Prom and it’s a lovely way to start the day. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever stayed in. The only minor complaints I have is - I was looking for a vending machine one of the days and I was told there wasn’t one which was fine but when I went to the bar to get a snack they didn’t have any. Also the radiator in the room was making a lot of noise and woke me up on several occasions but I turned it off the second night and it was fine. I’d probably rate this hotel as the best I’ve stayed in this year. Gorgeous location, excellent staff, and good facilities. Definitely recommend it and I’ll be back!

I had the fortune to visit the restaurant, which by the way has a cozy atmosphere, and I ordered a burger that was delicious! I'm very happy with the service of ...he was very attentive great job!
I was in Galway City for the evening with my friend, and we were enjoying the Christmas Market and the festive atmosphere in town. As we walked around we got hungry, and decided to pop in somewhere for a bite to eat. We did not have a booking, and everywhere in town was booked out.
So we googled restaurants in Salthill and the first one that grabbed our attention was The Galway Bay Hotel we called the restaurant and were greeted on the phone by a very friendly member of staff. We asked for a table for two and they reserved one for us right away.
We arrived to the restaurant and were again greeted warmly by a girl at reception. She gave us our table.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our waiter told us the specials and gave us his recommendation after we told him what we were looking for.
The food arrived quickly, and it was delicious.
The manager Martin Tocha came to our table, and was very nice and friendly, and made great time for us and made us feel very welcome and at home. The burger was very tasty. One of the best I've had in Galway. It was juicy, and perfectly cooked. The bun was toasted to perfection. The fries were great.
We had a nice experience, it was very pleasant. I will definitely be going back again soon.
Definitely one of the best burgers I have eaten in Galway so far. Overall I would give it 10 out of 10.

Had a fantastic stay here last week with my bestie. We availed of the active retirement offer which was fantastic. The staff were amazing and went the extra mile. The accommodation offered with no single supplement was an extra plus for us. Food excellent. Thank you Galway Bay Hotel we will be back. Thelma and Louise aka Lesley and Anne from Dublin.

Just back from a wonderful 2 day stay in Galway Bay Hotel and what a perfect experience it was. The staff were so caring, helpful, and professional. The food was second to none. The rooms and hotel itself were spotless and sanitised on a regular basis. I must give a big shout out to Alena, who works in the bar helpful and efficient.,she is a pure lady. We most definitely will be back ar and was ever so poli

Hi!
I spent two nights in the Galway bay hotel last week and I can tell you for sure that you are the best hotel in Ireland. The food is awesome, Staff is lovely & professional.
Next time I will go for a week 120%.
I am looking forward to see you again.
Have a nice day.

Everything from start to finish was excellent.
Fab food, staff and really comfortable rooms! Home away from home. Everyone deserves a credit, from reception staff, housekeeping all the way to barista in the front with their great coffees. Will definitely be back!

Stayed here for a couple of nights during mid-term. From check-in to check-out, everything was just perfect. Check-in staff couldn't have been friendlier, (a lesson here for some other hotels), general staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Salthill, straight across the road is the beach and the now famous promenade will take you all the way to Galway City. If you fancy a round of golf, Galway Bay Golf Club is just a short "drive" away. All in all the perfect hotel to stay in. We will be back.

Just back from two enjoyable nights at the lovely Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill. The food, rooms, and leisure facilities are wonderful but the thing that makes this hotel stand out is its incredible staff. From the moment we checked in to our departure every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous and professional. Worthy of particular mention is a young server named "Molly" who works in the bar. During our stay she waited our table and to say that she went over and above to make our dining experience memorable would be an understatement. She and indeed all her mostly young colleagues are the single greatest asset this beautiful hotel has in its armoury. 5*****

Stayed overnight and couldn’t recommend the hotel more, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff and top class rooms! Had dinner in the bar and have to say the food was top notch along with fantastic service from the bar staff. Will definitely be back!

Staying in Galway Bay Hotel at the moment for a wedding. Really nice hotel. Clean comfortable and very nice food. Very nice staff also. Funny thing, there is a manager here with the same name - maybe it will get me a discount..
A. B.
i have just spent the most beautiful time in Galway Bay Hotel with the girls, Steven and all the staff could not do enough for us . They were all so helpful, friendly and very professional. I highly recommend a visit to their newly decorated hotel. I'm looking forward to a return visit soon.

Had a lovely stay at the Galway Bay Hotel. Excellent staff and beautiful location. I would definitely recommend
A. M.
Booked late. Lady at reception was very nice. Lovely breakfast. Sea view room was lovely. Went to bar sat outside was told it was table service. Waited 20 mins no one took our order!. Hotel was gorgeous. Shower in bathroom a bit disappointing if your 6ft like my hubby.
G. M. k.
Lovely hotel, pleasant staff, food was great, covid restrictions were in place and covid passport were checked each time I entered the restaurant, overall a great few days away, definitely recommend
A. G.
I am a long term happy customer of the Galway Bay Hotel. Yesterday was no different. My family and I had a delicious lunch in the hotel's Conservatory. As always the staff were welcoming, professional and friendly.
Having a young child and an elderly person with us meant that there were a couple of requests that weren't on the menu. But this was no problem to the staff, who were able to sort it. The hotel has an excellent Covid-19 protocol in place to keep everyone safe while still keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. We are all looking forward to my next visit in a couple of weeks time.
P. T.
Nice hotel but can never understand how there's no main entrance to the front of the hotel from the prom. A huge loss of u ask me. Great for weddings
A. M.
Amazing hotel, stayed for a couple days. Rooms are very clean. Nice food and lovely staff. The kids had a great time in the pool.

Had a lovely stay at the Galway Bay Hotel. Excellent staff and beautiful location. I would definitely recommend.
C. M.
Absolutely fantastic hotel staff were amazing beds extremely comfortable and the food oh my goodness it was the best food we have ever had. Stunning views from the hotel and the hotel is directly facing the beach. If you head into Galway city and like seafood I can high recommend The Galway oyster house the owner Fiona is a lovely lady their chips are to die for as well as their seafood and its brought in fresh from the harbour every day. If you love seafood or want a beer and a side of chips this is the place. The laws are strict everywhere shuts at 11pm.
J. M.
The service and views are breathtaking here. The staff went out of there way to make us happy and had genuine smiles. Nothing was too much so I cannot wait to come back again
L. C.

Beautiful hotel, With lovely spacious room nice side bathroom. Tea coffee available. Lovely staff very friendly and helpful.would definitely be returned to this hotel. Ten minutes in taxi from train station. Cost us €13.00 for four off use wasnt bad.
C. F.
Lovely hotel, staff are lovely and friendly, very helpful, we attended a wedding there recently, beautifully done with Silver Service... very impressive.
Very Covid safe!!
Well done to all...
S. F.
We recently enjoyed a great stay in Galway Bay Hotel, food was excellent and staff were very welcoming and accommodating with any request. Will definitely be back during the summer.
N. C.
The only fault I can give this hotel is the service on the terrace and conservatory, it's shockenly slow. I also see a lot of tables for 6 but each only had 2 people on them. Nowhere to sit and no alternative. Maybe you can consider making a change there. We had to give up our seats to an elderly couple. But the staff are so polite and the rooms are very comfortable.
o. b.
Stayed here for a week and there wasn't one thing I could criticise. From my initial booking with Brian right through my stay, all of the staff I met during the week were friendly and helpful despite working in difficult/different circumstances. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and maintains an excellent standard of cleanliness.
I certainly will be back!
I. M.

K. M.
Stayed here at the weekend, amazing hotel with lovely staff and food. Customer service is fantastic, can’t wait to return

Really nice venue and a good chunk of their menu can be done gluten free. Rooms are nice too. Make sure you do your bookings for swimming pool and dining on their app or website.

I. G.
Definitely not a 4* quality. Rooms spacious, but dated, carpets old and dirty, bar food barely average, breakfast poor, poor v small and sauna inoperational.
A. H.
Lovely hotel and staff, but unfortunately guests can't use the restaurant or bar unless they get the experimental vaccine..
A.
Spent 3 nights and must congratulate each and every member of the young staff for their professional and courteous service. Food was amazing. Will be back and will recommend to anyone.

Ok hotel though l admit l have never stayed here. It's beautiful on a sunny day when you can sit outside and admire the scenery. I have eaten here and food is average. Go on a nice sunny day when you can enjoy the scenery.

Amazing staff, beautiful and central location, comfortable rooms.

Large and dated hotel that could use some work - particularly the bathrooms. Personally found it overpriced for what it is and would stay somewhere closer to town next time I visit.
S. P.

I was visiting Galway with familly and have decide to have meal in hotel.
We went to bar. We were greated at door by David. He checked our Covid Certs and Id following pandemic time rules. We were seated in Seaview room. Carolina was our server. Wow!!! That was one of best service experience. We got our menus and our daughter got Kids Menu with some activities. Carolina have inform us about dishes of day and took our drink order. Few minutes later we got our drinks served by Allana.
After a little while Patrick brought our food.
Carolina and David were making sure that everything is absolutely Perfect. Food was delicious and I would recommend it to everyone.
Your staff are little stars shining in this hotel.
Keep up good work.
Thank you David, Carolina, Alanna and Patrick.

M. C.
a great hotel with a beautiful location, pure bliss
A. G.
We had an initial problem with our allocated room. (Strong smell of cigarette smoke) When this was brought to the attention of management they immediately offered us a different room which was wonderful. The service of everyone in the hotel was perfect as was the food in the restaurant. A really delightful holiday thanks to the welcome and genuine consideration of ALL the staff. They had robust measures in place to protect everyone from the coronavirus which reassured us. Sorry at having to leave but look forward to a future stay.
T. M.
Great family hotel. Covid measures are well managed too. Breakfast was disappointing though, routine and a bit underwhelming
a. b.
Called in for a coffee with my son. Saturday 17th. The girls working in this outside coffee shop were pros. My ice coffee was a delight on such a warm day.
J. L.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, good food on a lovely day.

Just returned from weekend stay. Lovely room with sea view. Staff very friendly but waiting staff seemed stressed due to workload. Food lovely but having ordered breakfast we were waiting 30 minutes for food to arrive and a further 10 minutes for tea, toast & coffee. Definitely need more waiting staff for improving table service.
m. r.
Briliant Staff good value nice view😄
A. A.

J. C.
Just back from a one night stay cation in this wonderful family hotel! I couldn't say anything to fault this suberb hotel! Anything yiy ask for is given with a smile. Rooms are exceptionally clean. We brought antiseptic wipes and we didn't pick up any dirt on them when we wiped down the room! Now that's impressive! Staff are very careful and courteous all areas are spotless. The carvery room needs a little updating but everywhere else is very comfortable! Great location too! If you're looking for a family friendly hotel is a fun quiet location you've found it! Thanks to everyone!
j. s.
Really good to stay here, would recommend!
M. K.
They didn't have any drinks. I know it's covid and it only for essential workers but still you would expect at least some soft drinks. One of staff told me they only have wine and water.
S. I.
Thankyou for great lunch in galway bay. The stuf were the best.
F. K.
Lovely spot. Great rooms.
N. K.
My mother has just returned from 5 days at the Galway Bay Hotel. She said she could not fault a thing and the staff would go out of their way to do anything for you. The sea view was lovely and the food was perfect. Will definitely return at the next chance available
C. T.
Very disappointing only there for a couple of hours soup was cold & no spoons on table service slow sandwiches not appetizing 😥

J. G.
Excellent stay, staff were on top of their game, food great, great drinks, will be back
t. h.
What a wonderful stay. Everything you would expect from a nice hotel. Clean rooms, good breakfast, and friendly staff. A few of our favorite parts were the pub within the hotel, the awesome views, and the cleanliness of the hotel. We will definitely be back when it's a bit warmer.
A. G.
This hotel is nice . I expected it to be nicer considering the room rate. Very clean and staff are very nice but the rooms are very dated. Just old fashioned and need updating. Food is expensive even in the bar .
The kids enjoyed it and the pool is nice . Very small but clean , same with gym . Very small but well equipped .
When we landed they had left a dessert for my husbands birthday and sons confirmation which was a nice touch.
I'd only stay here again if I got a deal on the price .
S. M.
Promenade view was a view of a ferris whee.l.Room even with two fans and windows open felt like a sauna
M. M.
You can't beat the sea view! Beautiful venue for outdoor dining with tasty food & in as safe a way as possible.
S. L.
Location is top notch for the Salthill Promenade. It’s within walking (or easily bused!) distance of Galway proper. The breakfast manager is absolutely fabulous and really made our stay there great. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Would recommend.
B. C.
Needs an update to the rooms.
Thanks Dan for the update.I think it was probably a little short on my initial post. The staff are very nice and helpful. We were there during the fly fishing fair and it was busy but everything went smoothly. Always a good sign of a will run business. Would definitely visit again as the view of the front of the bay is beautiful
N. M. D.
Staff were all lovely, the food in the bar wasn't great, we we're there with a baby and there was no availability in the restaurant untill after 8pm, because we had already paid in full we were told we couldn't get room service (i think this was due to covid though) . The breakfast average. The TV in the room didn't work and the pillows on the bed were ridiculously thin. No heating in the changing rooms after swimming and no cubicles to get changed. Very overpriced for what you get.
C. D.
Great staff lovely hotel.
a.
Giving this 5 stars purely based on the customer service we received. Restaurant staff were so attentive and friendly, same with the breakfast and reception staff. Dinner was very good, as was breakfast. Rooms need an upgrade and the gym/spa facilities were lacking, but the customer experience trumped all of that. Thanks !
J. P.
Very nice hotel staff very friendly, good food.
L. K.
Nice hotel. Reasonable prices.
J. N.
Fantastic stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. An exceptional customer service experience. The suite was clean and always refreshed when we returned from our day out. This was greatly appreciated. We were surprised so many members of the staff were shocked by our tips. I was born in Ireland with my 7 siblings and we immigrated to Canada. However, we always spent our holidays visiting relatives. My husband and I relocated 8 years ago due to employment. Perhaps our tipping is a family way or a Canadian way, as all our friends tip in the same manner.
Well deserved is all we can say.
K. M.
Excellent location by the beach, set in beautiful garden. Good layout of the hotel, terrace overlooking Galway Bay where you can sit with a drink watching the world go by. Tasty breakfast. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi are great and very clean. Walking distance of Salthill. Would highly recommend 😀.
A. G.
Good location, excellent staff. Breakfast option had a great selection and was well very organised. Got a beautiful seat right by the window to watch the sunrise and it was amazing. Will definitely be recommending people to stay here! Thanks again.
E. F.
Just back from a 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel. Highly recommended. Staff all lovely and friendly and so helpful. Great covid measures in place so it feels very safe here.
c. m.
I stayed there with my two sisters in September. We were greeted with very friendly staff at reception. We soon discovered that the staff from all the hotel services were very efficient and more than helpful. We met one of the Managers by the name of Stephan Finn , he had a warm friendly personality and was very informative re the surrounding area , and explained sites worth viewing. He was happy to answer all questions relevant to our stay . Thank you Stephan .
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to a return visit.

Went here before Christmas eve had an amazing experience... the rooms where great clean and modern ... but what made it was the staff at our table absolutely superb. Absolutely enjoyed our stay and would recommend no problem as you will enjoy yours here.

Very nice hotel. Very clean and seems very well managed, expect the after Covid impact of regulation's.
The hotel practice booking system for breakfast and pool, and it didn't work quite well for us. We only stayed for 1 night passing through, but booked this particular hotel (which was 40% more expensive than other local hotels) because we wanted to have a relaxing time in the pool, before continuing our travel next day. We weren't able to book a slot from the time of check in to check out time for 4 adults, even we were consider to split in 2 for different time. That's down to management as every customer should have been able to have the experience. Especially if you book more expensive hotel because it has a swimming pool.
Breakfast time was booked for 9:30am as we have online conference to attend at 11am, but the waiting in the line to be seated was 15 minutes, then it was about 10 minutes before we can order food, and by the time our food arrived it was 10:10am, which leave us with the small window to enjoy the breakfast. There was simply not enough staff to be able to keep up with the load of work, and therefore the breakfast (Irish fry) arrived cold but we couldn't even complain about it as we need to eat, have conference and check out to continue travelling. It works in other hotels, but I guess everyone coping with the situation different after Covid19 quarantine.
We stayed in different hotel the night before and it was nicer atmosphere, able to use the pool and no waiting for cold breakfast. Well done Carrickdale Hotel.
As the location is good, we would still recommend the hotel for a family break, but the staff for breakfast time should be organised better. Otherwise it's not enjoyable start of the morning.

Excellent service brilliant hotel.
Thanks all staff for a wonderful stay. 😀

This might be long winded , the five stars are for the fantastic "STAFF" at The Galway Bay. The hotel is very old, grubby and Dated, our room was dirty, damp , and freezing cold used towels and coats on beds to say warm !! ( I was not aware you could ring reception for heating boost ! no information in rooms ) breakfast is served from self service to table and was cold and even cold on second return , I didn't complain but the staff noticed, reported it and a lovely manager came and said she would refund of our room , I await to see does this get refunded, Kyle in the bar is they only member of staff i would say needs training. Hodson bay group please take note and invest in this gem and reward staff ( before their poached from more update premises ) as they are so friendly, professional, attentive beyond belief and all these people are what make it very hard to complain, from Rochelle in reservations to ròisìn, Allanah and Tara at reception to Cathal ,James, Thomas and Cailley waiting staff to Aishling and aoife in the leisure centre, you are all amazing and The Hudson Group really should have you travel to all the sister hotels to train all their other staff on how to treat their customers, I have stayed in all four premises now and i hope the managers take note and reward you all handsomely . Well done Galway bay staff x

Good size family room , dinner was fab

I spent 3 nights at the Galway Bay Hotel in May of this year. I was accompanied by my mother and sister. To say we had a wonderful time is an understatement! The staff was phenomenal, especially the front desk staff. There was always a smile and an absolute willingness to accommodate us in every way. The breakfast was amazing also. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope I get to return there in the future.

Super experience we had in the Galway bay hotel, I brought my family to stay for a small family reunion.
Covid 19 cleanliness great. Staff superb, Food excellent.

Was here in April 2019 for a 3 day Gospel workshop. The set up was great the staff were lovely and helpful the food was good, the location perfect and the room was perfect for us. Really recommend this lovely hotel to anyone staying in Galway.

Great food and very nice team.

Had a lovely time here. I've never had such excellent customer service. I was roaming the hotel looking for a vending machine in the middle of the night, asked the desk clerk where I could find one, and they insisted against my protests that they would make me a sandwich in the kitchen. I was brought a beautiful tray with a sandwich, pot of freshly brewed tea, and some flowers. Gorgeous view of the bay, and close to lots of fun places.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Galway bay hotel. The food was excellent and staff extremely professional.
We did have an issue with our room on the first night due to noise level over the bar but we were offered another quiet room the next morning.
Overall a very satisfactory stay and we would definitely recommend a Xmas stay here

My first visit to this spa & it was a great experience from start to finish. I started with a swim, jacuzzi & sauna & I had the place to myself during a quiet time in the afternoon. It was glorious. Then I had my treatments with Helen, an excellent, highly experienced therapist. I knew as soon as she put her hands on me that she had been doing it for a long time. I had back massage, mini facial, head massage & arm & hand massage. It was bliss & the best value for money I've had in a spa. I then had a mini manicure with shellac polish to finish which was also flawless. I usually go to a place in town but I have to say this place was better value, better therapist ,& better location. On leaving it was lovely to come out & have a walk by the sea instead of coming out to busy city centre. I can't praise this place or Helen enough. I left feeling totally pampered & relaxed. My new go to spa by the sea. Much needed & appreciated me time at it's best. Thank you.

The pictures over estimate this hotel. I was very excited to stay at this place because of how nice it looked in the pictures. Upon pulling up and walking in, it was what I thought it was supposed to be. Going in the tight elevator up to our room was a different story. The 2nd floor we were on seemed almost outdated and the room was incredibly small. The room smelt like paint and onions. There was one window that barely lit the room up. The bathroom was not the cleanest I've been in either. However the staff was welcoming in all of our requests for extra towels, a roll away bed, and a refrigerator. The breakfast is pretty basic, but the view of the water compensates for what the breakfast lacks.

My stay at Galway Bay Hotel was superb. The meals were delicious and filling. And the swimming pool was splendid. The staff where very helpful and not intrusive at all. Over all this hotel is getting a 5 star review from me.
D. L.
Very comfortable hotel, nice pool, breakfast was fantastic.staff friendly,
T. G.
Very friendly staff could not do enough for my wife and myself will definitely be going back soon
A. S.
Good hotel. Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were a bit hot but you can turn off the radiators. Only downside was the restaurant, food was very average, go into the city for your meal in the evening.
The bar is good and has a decent selection of beers
B. Y.
Super friendly staff, both at reception as well as room service etc. Decent breakfast, quiet big rooms and good beds. We had dinner there too, which was good for a big hotel. All felt a little dated.
A. H.
Very helpful and friendly staff food was fab
O. M.
Staff were extremely helpful from check In to check out.I have stayed here many times before and last few times service was slipping but this time everything was excellent. ALL food in restaurant was of very high standard Well done to all in these hard and strange times for ur business

Just arrived back from a 5 night stay not impressed when checked in, had to book times for breakfast and dinner, went to book the pool was informed that it was fully booked up until the Monday morning and then the only time available was at 8 in the morning was a bit shocked by this as 6 weeks prier when I booked the stay I was informed that I could not book the pool until I checked in to the hotel. At meal times it was a bit like faulty towers, would be waiting a long time between courses and what u would order and get were not the same thing unfortunately, for instance my son ordered an ice cream Sunday one evening and received a round bowl of jelly, cream and 1 scop of ice cream, my partner got the duck one evening it came with veg and spud even though it was not mentioned on the menu so I decided to get it the following evening only I got not veg or spud with it, another night my son ordered the brownie it was meant to come with vanilla ice cream but came with chocolate instead, even though we all had got vanilla with our desserts that night it was just one thing after another even with the breakfast you would constantly have to be asking for things like tea toast and even then u could be nearly finished your breakfast before the tea or toast would arrive you could barely get them to bring you what you ordered let alone ask for something else, even though they had a lot of staff on but it was like they were obviously to what was happening, as for accommodation had to ask for them to call every day and even on the Monday I informed reception I would like accommodation to call as we needed fresh towels waited for nearly two hours and they never called so just gave up on Tuesday morning we were delighted to be leaving as it had gotten to the stage where we did not look forward to meal times one evening we waited 40 mins for desserts to come even though we picked the first sitting at 5.30 but could see from looking around a lot of people did not seem happy in there I really don't think it was worth the amount of money it cost us would never go back again, even the decor in the room was out dated and the pool was freezing plus quiet small all in all was not worth over the 1200 euro that it cost us, at the time we thought it was a great deal little did we know, but having paid up front we had to just try and make the best of it also pillows we're very un comfortable.
C. O.
Was helping my parents who were holding a course in the conference center here, the adapter they needed to use for a HDMI input on the projector and their VGA cable were a bit dodgy and on the second day there they forgot the biscuits for one of the breaks. Overall a great location with friendly staff who were helpful. Also liked the leisure centre/pool. If it weren't for the adapter/cable having a few issues and the forgetting of the biscuits (which was fixed) I would be giving 5 stars.
R. G.
Got upgraded to a suite. Massive room. Great location right at the beach. Breakfast was very tasty and checkout was after 12 due to it taking longer to serve breakfasts. A+
K. L.
Nice conference rooms but the tea provided for breaks has a slight coffee taste.
J. H.
Well run establishment very clean, staff first class willing to help guests with any problem, will be back.
N. P.
Located on the Bay and a short taxi to Eyre Square. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Room was spacious and clean. Had drinks in the old world style bar and ordered late night pizza to room. The pizza was probably the best pizza I've ever eaten. We plan to come back and will absolutely stay here again.
S. I.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights while traveling around Ireland. Our experience was great! We enjoyed food and drinks in the bar, utilized their laundry service and took advantage of the gym. We would definitely recommend Galway Bay to anyone.
J. S.
This Hotel is gorgeous when you arrive in at the reception you know straight away you are going to be happy here, Reception staff so so helpful and pleasant people. Rooms comfortable and spacious but very warm, Swimming pool small but nice enough, Dinner food okay but had to change a meal as it was cold, but otherwise a great hotel, lovely staff and pleasant people. will definately stay here again :)
h. h.
Booked the Atlantic view suite. Had our own dining/sitting room overlooking the bay. Wine that came with the room was good, food was good, view is awesome. The only reason this is not a 5 is because that suite is sitting on top of the bar (siite on floor 1, bar directly under) with music til 2am that can be heard in bed.
J. B.
Short staffed for a function, our table had the food eat before the potatoes and veg arrived and the cod was overcooked. Breakfasts and evening meals were spot on, delicious. The staff were really nice and helpful, especially Tuchelli
G. S.
Brilliant service from all the staff, from cleaners to barman to reception staff, to the staff in restaurant and cafe during the day. They went out if their way to make sure our stay was perfect.
We ordered sandwiches and tea at reception for lunch and I had to ask for the tea. Emma I think her name was, made the effort to come to our room that afternoon to apologise for the delay and that she was not going to Bill me for the inconvenience. Super service and totally unexpected.
My wife and I caught a cold during our stay and we ended up in room for duration of stay, everyone was so attentive even to the extent of offering honey to soothe our throats and to get chef to make soup for us.
Lovely lovely hotel and the staff made it for us.
J. C.
Amazing hotel and event venue. We attended a family wedding at GB everything was beautiful and perfectly executed. Our hotel room was clean, breakfast was impressive and the kids had a great time in the pool.....and the view was amazing.
M. M.
Great hotel overlooking Galway Bay. Rooms are clean, comfortable and for the most part they use quality furnishing to finish. Wifi is reasonably fast and free and the showers have plenty of water pressure. This hotel in the summer as astronomical room rates. Would I pay more than €120 a night here probably not. At €120 and under I always book.
K. D.
This is a great hotel something for everybody. There is a lovely feeling when you walk in the door is just beautiful. Great food breakfast is top quality good choice you even get a pot of coffee not just a cup,I didn't have any lunch so you will have to find out for your self but the dinner was just so good the menu was short and sweet and they have good kids menu if you have kids with you.
Ask for Bridie for your waitress she great. The rooms a very comfy. If your older or younger you will be made feel welcome.

Arrived Monday 15th Jan with my husband to a beautiful warm welcome. Hotel is beautiful and food is delicious. Taxi service available into town. Staff are so mannerly and friendly. They can't do enough for you. Room was beautiful and our added surprise was it was a beautiful suite. Sat for ages enjoying the sea view from our sitting room and also beautiful views from our bedroom window. Exceptional value and wonderful hotel and staff.

The kids wanted to treat their mum to a special day out so we went to The Galway Bay hotel. The location was super, right across from the beach..the kids even paddled in the water. My wife , our 3 daughters & I had a lovely afternoon in the spacious new lounge overlooking the sea. We feasted on freshly made sandwiches & delicate desserts all washed down with excellent coffee served by our friendly waiter Sean. The duty manager Carmel could not have been more attentive even though she had a large group in also dining. We felt we were as important as the large gathering . We all agreed we will return as it was a very relaxing & enjoyable day. Thanks to all the staff. See you soon. Donal

Wonderful front desk staff! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was overlooking the courtyard and had a partial ocean view from one of the side rooms (pictures below). The furniture was a bit old and worn, but everything worked correctly and the room was very clean. Handy for the Salthill neighborhood and beach area and not too far from downtown Galway. (30 min walk or 10 min drive depending on how busy it is.)

We were back again to the beautiful Galway Bay Hotel. We so look forward to our return visits. From the moment we booked in it’s all in their hands it’s total relaxation. All the staff upstairs downstairs all the staff in this hotel know exactly what you need on a holiday , break away whatever it is you just let them take over . We can’t rate it highly enough it’s wonderful.Food is second to none rooms are lovely .Great time had by all will be returning again soon.Top marks Noreen Reen

Lovely hotel looking out at the sea. I was here for a work event and stayed 2 nights. The rooms are very comfortable, food is really good too. The only negative is that the restaurant really does need a bit of updating. The decor in my opinion is quite dated and really drags the atmosphere down. It certainly doesn't match the quality of the food which was amazing. Really nice wine too. Staff are very helpful and apart from the small negative re the restaurant I can't fault this place
L. B.
Beautiful hotel, immaculate rooms, beds were really fab, this trip I had kids with me and we had a truly wonderful stay in a family room. Salthill is a must to visit with children and this is perfectly located. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the kids really loved the breakfast too, will stay again here and look forward to it.

This beautiful hotel with its old world charm and fabulous views is a gem. The staff in particular are a credit to this hotel, especially the girls in the cafe . Their friendly efficient manner and even though we had a group of 15 hungry people all wanting lunch at the one time and the cafe busy nothing was too much trouble. They still had time to make each person feel special and all our group commented and complimented on the great service. I can't recommended this hotel enough and look forward to my next visit
M. A.
This is an excellent hotel in Galway with a delicious breakfast. The beds are comfortable. We had a cot in our room which was not comfortable for an adult. Perhaps it would work for a small child. The bathroom was okay but not what you'd expect for the price. The elevators are small but the helpful service from the hotel staff was appreciated with baggage. There is a lovely couch lounge looking towards the bay with open windows. The restaurant is convenient with great food.
E. M. C.
Absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff were so polite and helpful. It made such a difference. I was there for a convention over the weekend. And the hotel was spotless with a fabulous atmosphere. Congratulations you have the best hotel staff in the country
S. L.
We normally go to the Hodson Bay Hotel but we thought we would give the sister hotel a go for a change. The staff were lovely and the room was clean and spacious. The room was well stocked with toiletries and towels. This hotel is right at the beach so perfect for families or couples who would like to walk the promenade. Pool is small so can be full of children. Salthill it's self is a bit tired looking and could do with a face lift. One problem I would have to that there was no non alcoholic drinks available at the bar only soft drinks so this could be looked at.
P. o.
Needs revamp .staff brilllll location great food v good

Just returned from a 4 day visit. Food was great and staff better. Felt very safe with all the safeguards implemented for Covid 19. Will return again.

Really nice break away for our 4th wedding anniversary. All staff were friendly and very helpful especially Alannah on reception, Celine in the bar and Helen in the the spa. The hotel is in a great location, great food and both the bar & lounge are amazing but the bedrooms are a little dated. I was a little disappointed not to get a reply from the info email regarding a request I had made but overall a very enjoyable experience.
P. L.
Beautiful sea views. Breakfast great.staff extremely helpful and chatty. Australian lady at reception very helpful
T. H.
Great scenery looking out on to Galway Bay. Spotlessly clean. Staff very courteous. However bar service very poor without being very busy. On pricing, a dash of cordial 90 cents IMO steep and a little rip off.
N. G.
I booked direct by phone and the reservation was taken by a very polite, informative member of staff who demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and local knowledge.
Room 243 - 1st Feb - 3rd Feb. I was attending a convention here, for 2 nights. More than ample parking with an added underground level too. The hotel is ideally situated in the bay, within easy reach of every amenity one would need. I arrived much earlier than I expected and before the regular check in time. The staff at the reception desk were very welcoming and arranged an early check-in for myself and a colleague. I was impressed from the moment I arrived. The atrium style of the circulating area of the reception was relaxed, plenty of soft seating and a lovely sun deck with wicker furniture. Everything was well signed, however, I didn't need those as the staff upon check-in detailed everything to me and have me all the information I would need to get around. The bedroom was facing the ocean, the views were fantastic ( I recommend paying the small amount extra for an ocean view room ). The hotel is already situated perfectly in the bay but the view was an added bonus.
The room was very well appointed and was meticulously made up and ready. It was also spotless. Nice extra touches like toiletries, robes and slippers made it all the more comfortable. For a busy hotel, the landing I was on was particularly quiet. I was aware the hotel was fully booked but there were no intrusive noises from passing customers or housekeeping keeping up their splendid work. When I went down to eat, i had the opportunity to meet the duty manager as he was passing. He was already busy eith the convention but took time out to add an additional welcome, enquired whether everything was ok for me and gave me a few pointers.
I used the cafe for a carvery lunch, the restaurant for an evening and snacks in the bar ( wide variety of bar food ). We had a convention banquet the second evening plus breakfast in the mornings. The catering choices across the board was just right for each visit to each venue. However, the standard of food was very high indeed and clearly quality ingredients. They managed to provide this without charging very high prices.
In all, I enjoyed a lovely stay. Above all though, it was the hotel staff that made it for me. The coordination and teamwork through the hotel was seamless through each area. It's difficult to get this right and they have. An impressive high standard which made me feel valued and cared for. From reception, food and beverage, housekeeping and the manager in duty all the way were happy to help and I couldn't have expected or needed any more. They were all great ambassadors of the hotel and I shall return.
I travel frequently and use hotels frequently but The Galway Bay Hotel is memorable and outstanding for all the right reasons. The staff deserve an extra 'pat on the back' as they are the ones who present the hotel and it's fine range of quality facilities to the customer. They took every opportunity to make my stay a pleasant one. Which it very much was. Thank you
A. M.
Beautiful location and lovely rooms. The decor probably needs an update in the rooms but is otherwise clean and polished.
Bar was closed when we were there which was a pity but looked great and food was nice in the restaurant but wasn’t mind blowing. Went in winter so possibly feeling like this as I didn’t get any of their famous lobster. Otherwise nice staff.
Bistro food however was incredible, the portobello mushroom is something I will remember for as long as I live and the craic was mighty with the band.
I’d come back!
J. J.
A lukewarm welcome from the reception staff left us feeling like they couldn't care less about our stay experience. When we reported that there was no water from the hot tap it took two days and a second complaint to have it repaired. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was ok. The furniture was dated and a bit shabby but overall the rooms were well serviced by efficient and pleasant staff.
m. c.
This should be a 3 star hotel not 4.
Nice location, lovely staff there to give you assistance when ever is needed.
But the hotel itself needs a bit of investment and some refurbishment to be done.
M. W.
I really enjoyed my stay here with the girls. The highlight for us was the leisure facilities. Although small, it was very personable. I convinced my friends to try the aqua aerobics on Monday and we loved it. We even did it again on Tuesday evening with a different and equally enthusiastic teacher.
The staff were friendly and our rooms were lovely and clean.
I would recommend this hotel.
J. C.
beautiful hotel stayed here friday 13th to monday 16th september. All the staff we had dealing with where super friendly. Breakfast was very good a good selection of both hot and cold items fo choose from. rooms where spacious and beds comfy tea and coffee making facilities in room. hair dryer pretty good iron and ironing board in room. will definitely stay here again
J. F.
Super location. Clean. Great service overall bar one evening meal we had really bad service. Overall a great family hotel
J. C.
Old enough to embody old school elegance, but up to date in content and delivery. I was there for the annual Galway Volunteer Fair, so utilized the large meeting room. The bar is entirely charming. Location on the Prom, and facing Galway Bay is a plus. Don't miss the memorial garden nestled beside this property.
B. M. L.
Very good hotel had a nice short break very good facilities excellent dining. We had to one great nights sleep and unfortunately the second night was interuped by the revellers at a wedding that was in the hotel and their access for smoking was at the side of the hotel near our room. So we really could have spent the night at the wedding.
m. o.
Went to Galway Bay hotel for coffee with my family on Thursday morning and have to say it was a very pleasant experience. I ordered teas and coffees at cafe to have in conservatory..they were brought out by Emma who was a so efficient and friendly..we will definitely be back next time we're in Galway 😀😀
B. M.
We stayed in the Galway Bay 18th April 2018. Sergey is a fantastic manager and he and his staff were wonderful and so very helpful. The rooms are immaculate and the food delicious. We will most definitely be booking this hotel in the future.
Many thanks for making us feel so welcome.
Bernie and Mick

Big thanks to all team !
See you soon again.

Nice place to stay, needs a little updating with furniture in reception being a little tired. Good location. Staff helpful, breakfast is wonderful and a good variety.
Downside, first room we had to move out of due to an obnoxious smell coming from toilet but management moved us straight away...
T. M. M.
Rooms are comfortable but a little outdated. The bar food was fine. I thought the oil the fish was cooked in was burned or old..
Still ate it.
Rory O'Connor is a joy to behold.
Well done sir.
L. C.
Fab hotel. loved it.. we stayed here for a family holiday couldn't recommend it more. ♥️ kids loved the kiddies club which was on twice a day and included their dinner it gave us free time to go to the restaurant by ourselves ( food there was unbelievable) lovely pool loads to do for family's close by . Hotel right on the beach. Five star brefast one of the best we ever had.
C. O. B.
LOVELY HOTEL, GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE. GREAT LOCATION .
P. B.
Lovely hotel, the staff are friendly and the rooms are nice. We had a family room No. 122 and I was a nice size, one double bed and two singles. Very Clean, can't fault it, would definitely return.
Y. B.
Huge hotel. We were given a room with 1 queen and 3 twin beds. Hotel faces water fro t, but gusty wind did not allow us to enjoy the view. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of hot cooked items and dry goodand juices. Bath tub fixtures were outdated and hard to operate.
C. B.
Great location friendly staff could have better quality food and smarter dining room like the Park in Galway city. This hotel could be so much more also like the amazing food and service found in the golf club.
m. m.
Lovely stay! Staff very good. Food very nice and rooms perfect. Would not recommend the swim pool - too small but overall everything worked well. Recommend.
L. h.
The room was spacious but dark and dated, there was only one very small window. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work and it was like organizing a trip to the moon to get a solution. Would not go back very disappointing for the price. Food good but nothing to rave about.
F.
A great night which really couldn't of been any better.
The service from the very minute we entered the hotel was outstanding and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food and drink was also exceptional in particular the baby squid with feta and chorizo which I had as a starter was incredible.
I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough will definitely be back in the near future.
P. S.
Great hotel. Lovely place with excellent view and walk area. Very quiet. Great hotel restaurant. Very kind and helpful staff. We will back again.
S. M.
I did not stay in the rooms but was there daily for a conference. The chef was amazing. The view is phenomenal and there is a question walking garden tucked away in the left side of it. Be sure to check it out.
r. j.
It's a hotel. Noisy at night from staff rearranging furniture outside and loud visitor's in the early hours of the morning who won't go to bed. Reception was efficient and maintance attended to a minor problem swiftly. There are some great shows in a theatre beneath. Breakfast was stale, slow service, and just cannot fry an egg!!!!! Probably not the best for families.
P.
Attended a wedding there. Very clean. Food was gorgeous and was presented piping hot. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The view of Galway Bay also add to the experience.
D. T.
Fabulous hotel, but it took ages to get food in the bar, 45 minutes waiting for main course and another 20 minutes for dessert, apart from that the hotel is lovely, bathroom in hotel room could do with some hooks to hang clothes when taking a shower.
E. W.
Great place to stay,,food is very good
C. G.
Top class hotel, staff that deserve a mention are Catherine on reception, gave us a very warm friendly greeting on arrival, very efficent. A special word of thanks to Agata in leisure center, excellent at her job & most helpful. Breakfast next morning we were greeted by Nicola again a lovely warm friendly welcome, could'nt be more helpful...To the Management of this fabulous hotel, you have the Best Staff we have ever met... A credit to you all.... We will be back in Feb, 2018.......
P. F.
Not a great hotel at all , would never be back i was there with a group of women of 7 and none of us would good back ,the staff were very under pressure and not friendly at all and from check-in to check-in out there were a lot of mistakes we were all very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone 😡
K. L.
Great hotel. Wish I could have stayed longer. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Kudos to wait staff Eddie who looked after us at breakfast and got us a great cup of coffee.
M. D.
I stayed here with family and we had a lovely time, the staff were helpful and the location was second to none, some décor could do with updating but overall I wouldn't fault the hotel.
C. G.
Really enjoyed my stay, not my first time to stay, staff lovely and pleasant, food and wine in the bar was lovely, but only disappointment was No fire light in the bar, and it was cold and damp outside, being December. Other than that was great.
J. S.
Enjoyed a family break between Christmas and New Year. Enjoyable and friendly staff, indoor pub was nice but could do with a little more light. Family room was pleasant and overlooked gardens. Food was nice and served promptly.
D. G.
Visited this hotel as a day trip last Wednesday 15th with seven service user we had two wheelchairs. This hotel couldn't do enough for us there was no room in the cafe so they got us a table in the restaurant that wasn't opened. The staff were great a d couldn't do enough for us .WELL DONE GALWAY BAY!!!
M. M.
lovely hotel very friendly staff
E. H.
A bit pricey and disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Leisure centre is quite basic, big queues for breakfast and not a huge choice for dietary requirements (gluten free, vegetarian etc.) Otherwise, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Location is good for the view over the bay. 10 minute car ride into the city centre.
K. T.
Very friendly. Very clean. Very professional staff. The location is gorgeous on the bay. But it's made better by how nice and friendly the staff and the town's people are. Made my first trip so enjoyable I know I will be coming back.
S. H.
Fantastic hotel great location fantastic friendly and helpfull staff
G. L.
One of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in.
Staff, especially ROISAN, on reception, could not have been more helpful.
She saved me money on the accommodation, and booked a tour of the Aran Islands for me.
I have already recommended the hotel to my Travel Agent and also to family and friends in Ireland.
m. f.
fantastic place will definitely go again
E. W.
Had an amazing 3 night stay in this excellent hotel. Very clean , brilliant staff so helpful .
S. M.
It's a nice hotel in a beautiful location. Unfortunately the cost to stay here does not reflect the quality and service you would expect. A little disappointing.

Really loved this hotel!!!

Great place for families. The check-in was swift and friendly. We ate in the restaurant the first night and the lounge bar the second. The service and food was great. We enjoyed using the leisure facilities.
S. F.
Fabulous hotel. Staff excellent and very friendly with a chat for everyone. Rooms spotless and location excellent
M. O. S.
Beautiful hotel, great food, nice staff. Would highly recommend
L. C.
Second to none!!Excellent staff. Will definitely use again
S. B.
Fab hotel. Very clean, polite staff (for the most part) was a bit annoyed when I asked a member of staff that was picking up glasses for another drink and they denied my request stating that it was not their job to take orders. Not good enough for a four star hotel.
W. R.
A fantastic place to stay if you visit Galway. Everyone was very friendly and it's also great for wheelchair access if you need it! An excellent breakfast also.
M. D.
Lovely hotel very friendly staff felt very safe there would definitely recommend it will go back again
o. m.
excellent service and quality staff were amazing and very helpful, especially to my twin girls who made there communion on the 12th Dec 2020
P. S.
Fantastic hotel table service in the bar and cleaned constantly I was very impressed the food is good and the staff are very friendly

The Galloway bay hotel was located a little bit far from the main town. I did love the setting on the ocean. The best part of this hotel was the breakfast. There is a gentleman or a server by the name of Jaun, he is from Spain. Every morning we got up very tired, because of jetlagged from the United States. One always want to know what we’re gonna do for the day, and he gave us pointers on what to do around the area. He’s only been there for about 3 to 4 months, but he knew exactly what we should see. The downstairs pub is fun to watch people and see them saying in the late hours. There is a warning, there is no air condition in the room. If you like vintage, classic, with a good scenery on the ocean this is your place. We are quite please with the Galloway hotel. We will be back.
M. H.
Wonderful Hotel. We go there all the time for short breaks. Great food pleasant staff. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.
J. F.
Room was nice, location is good but breakfast buffet was a bit too much like a holiday camp for a 4 star hotel and the staff were all too busy cleaning tables to serve tea or coffee, we had to wait 15 minutes for our coffee after asking 3 times . This is not the kind of service you expect for the price you pay.
M. J.
Very comfortable and relaxing stay. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Restaurant/bar has a lovely atmosphere. The morning breakfast cannot be missed!!
L. R.
Recently attended a Christmas party in this hotel. Had a great time! I found the staff to be particularly friendly. Had a great conversation with two mannerly young gentlemen David and Rian. Would definitely recommend to my friends. Thanks for a great time!
C.
We stayed here last minute. Only room available was the handicap room. It was rather small even for handicap, but noticed chipping on walls. Seems a little dated but overall suited my need.
I looked at pics on line after and honestly none of them look like our room.

Attended a wedding their and had an amazing day.. Food was fabulous, the decor was lovely, staff were friendly and efficient.. overall a great experience..
The only fault is the car parking spaces are a little tight...
R. V.
Lovely views, and great restaurant. Good service as well with staff always taking care of you and woth big smiles!
A. M.

Beautiful hotel . Great place to stay rooms fabulous. And staff could not do enough for you great people great place
K. O.
It was okay. Thought the rooms would be a little more updated given the location but it was for only one night. It was good enough to sleep and rest.
S. O.
Hotel is nice. Staff are friendly. Felt safe as regards covid 19. Very clean and sanitised everywhere.
T. M.
Enjoyed my stay.. Rooms good size beds comfortable.. Nice friendly staff.. Bar restaurant food little over priced.. Food good.
A. M.
Absolutely lovely place. Its at a location that people would enjoy as its just opposite to salthill beach. Restaurant staff are extremely nice. There are underground secure car park.
E. D.
Beautiful hotel with plenty of fresh air. Great food and friendly helpful staff.
S. T.
Afternoon tea. Lovely food - staff were nice (Carmel in particular). Catered to dietary needs with no issue. Lovely view of the Bay too
T. o. c.
Very nice hotel room with an ideal location. The bar food and service are poor at best. Restaurant is much the same. Swimming pool is nice however no steam room and a four person sauna.
C. M.
Food was one stars. Hotel room was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel seems to cater to older / retired people.
We would look for a place in the city center next time.
R. M.
I have been there so many times and I never had a problem great hotel.food and service could not complain would go back in a heart beat.
d. k.
I was only here for when the Ed Sheeran concert was on but they had lots of extra bars opened and were serving burgers outside for people before after. Good service and great views from the veranda of the Salthill prom.
b. l.

D. C.
Very nice hotel with great views and excellent staff. We were looked after extremely well by Karl the Bar Manager who gave us great tips on where to go and what to do in Galway
J. K.
To be honest I was a bit disappointed with this place. The room was nice and the staff were very friendly, but the food let it down big time.
G. T.
Breakfast provided. Bar/Lounge onsite. Good jumping off point to many areas. Galway is a beautiful walking city. Hotel is a quick drive or taxi into town.
D. M.
Great staff, comfy beds, good location. Decor slightly dated but overall a brilliant family stay.
T. S.
Nice hotel right on the beach
J. G. (.
I stayed here in 2014. It was excellent. Great rooms. Great restaurant and pub. Next time I come to Galway, I will definitely stay at the Galway Bay Hotel.

Great protocols around Covid 19 from reception , restaurant, bars and bedroom.

Went to a wedding here and had the best time, the staff were not very friendly though and the food was mediocre at times. View from the terrace was beautiful 😊
A.
Lovely hotel. Bar food was decent but not spectacular and the service in the bar was not great. Rooms are very comfortable and well kept.
M. K.
Most enjoyable few days break relaxing at this lovely hotel. Friendly staff, spacious rooms and delicious food. Worth paying a visit ☺👍
a. m.
Quality experience. Only thing I didn't like was that only option we were given for brekkie was 730 on 1st morning which we skipped and had elsewhere.
M. M.
Fab place..beautiful hotel....food great..friendly helpful staff...rooms very comfortable...clean and extremely well kept..views from rooms across the bay are unspoiled and so relaxing...all in all a great place to stay...
S.
Well organized Covid requirements without being too fussy.
Felt safe and appreciated.
N. R.
It's a beautiful hotel the leisure centre is perfect and the food is delicious, the buffet breakfast is the best I've had
m. i.
Not too bad. The furnitures were old and we didn’t have any fridge or shower cap in the room. They didn’t have hot water jacuzzi.
G. M.
Fantastic place to stay in the area. From the receptionists to the bartenders in the lounge...best service around. The rooms are clean and location is wonderful.
P. M.
Excellent, no complaints.
S. G.
A nice hotel but the rooms are a bit on the tired side. Smelt a little damp probably due to lack of ventilation. Comfortable bed. Clean. Just needs ventilation sorted
g. m.
Staff from management to waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely .and we had beautiful sea view .
G. M.
Always enjoy the Galway bay hotel with its wonderful surroundings and professional staff especially in these strange times.

The Galway Bay Hotel is one of the top of the range Hotel's in Galway and its location is one of the best.
Overlooking Galway Bay itself, one can see the hills of Co. Clare across the Bay.
With the variable weather conditions we get on the west coast of Ireland, one can see the hills of Clare changing colours with the mixture of cloud and sunshine, from the viewing deck of the Hotel.
Looking at the Bay itself, one can see the sea water changing colours under the same conditions.
It is a view that one could spend hours of their leisure time without once getting tired of it while at the same time one can see all the ships passing as they make their way into the Galway Docks.
The Bay is also graced with swimmers, smaller boats and crafts of all descriptions as the sea birds hoover around overhead as they also do around the Galway Bay Hotel itself as they catch the air currants coming in from the great Atlantic Ocean.
Food and accommodation is well above par but the price of same would not be within the range of the average working man except on occasion.
Well worth a visit.
A. Q.

We stayed with 2 children. Friendly staff, one bulb gone in room, but well dealt with. Very pleased with our stay.

Very Friendly. Room was across the corridor from the swimming pool entrance, very handy but it was above the power house electrics which made a humming noise at time but staff were very accommodating.
D. M.
Beautiful view of the water. About 30 minute walk to Galway. Nice golf course almost next door.
C. G.

Stayed here the end of july with our two children and it was a gorgeous hotel, our room was very clean and tidy, the requests we made for our disabled son upon booking was met which made our stay alot easier, the only fault i had was there was a long waiting time for dinner in the restaurant in the evenings which is not good with two young children and i really think the food is fab but very over priced, but we were very happy with our stay and all the staff were so nice and helpful
P. M.
Just had a 2 night stay with family for Mams 90th birthday the room she got was truly amazing staff brilliant friendly and very accommodating was a brilliant weekend highly recommend.

May 16th my Husband and I checked into Galway Bay Hotel at 3 minutes to 9 PM for 4 nights
thinking we were to late for a meal, but we were greeted by a very cheery girl at reception name we later learned Catherin, said don't worry I will phone through and make sure you get hot meal, and true to her word it was sorted and our luggage was taken to our room while we dined,We were there for the wedding on Friday 18th ,and no day were we disappointed from greeting at breakfast to bar at night the staff were outstanding,The wedding day was wonderful manager and staff were wonderful plenty of food and served promptly Thank you,The bedroom was lovely sea view and again cleaned and made up to hight standard,So once again we say Thank you to all the staff at the Galway Bay Hotel and one day we may return for a mini break.

A. O. D.
I'm a customer since the GBP opened almost 20 years ago,lve never had a bad experience,l eat most day's there and occasionaly eat in the bar ,
their menu meets that window between carvery and restaurant,
The bar menu is an excellent offering where l can enjoy a televised match dress casually
And not feel under pressure to meet high standards of those that dress up for fine dining,
The management and staff are excellent friendly and personal, one nicer than the next,
That is an accurate measurement across all dept,s including leisure centre, maintenance, house keeping etc
I strongly recommend the galway bay hotel
To locals and visitors
