Great venue for a Civil Ceremony
R. A.Stayed here for our friends wedding. The staff were very friendly on check in and helped us with our bags to our room. We stayed in a garden room, which was spacious and bed was comfortable. The room did get a bit warm during the night but they do provide a small fan to help you out. The breakfast included was nice, service was a bit slow. They also included coffee/tea/hot chocolate any time from the lounge bar which was nice.

M. Q.Last weekend 2/10/2020 my son Adrian and his new wife Sile held their wedding reception in Castle Durrow. My husband and I plus other family members stayed in this beautiful hotel and from the minute we entered until we left, we were treated royally. The staff were second to none, the catering staff to the bar staff, ,receptions, all staff were so friendly and amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. I also have to mention a couple of little residencies, namely the friendly cat and dog. I would say to any couple planning your wedding or a relaxing stay Castle Durrow cant be beaten. It's a must. Thank you Castle Durrow. Marian and Michael Quinn full marks.
G. G.Very comfortable, old world style well maintained and attention to detail. Fine architectural building with interesting gardens. Not over expensive. Perhaps a little to warm in terms of heating. They could afford to reduce the heating level .Well worth a visit. Good food , well presented, well cooked. Their starters are a little pricey for what you get. Lovely dining area and lounge. The staff are are very good and attentive. Yep go there ,treat yourself. Approximately 20 to 25 minutes from Kilkenny city. 30 minutes from Twin Oaks bed and breakfast.
B. M.I have been there many time. Absolutely beautiful place. My companion had never been before and was blown away with the hotel, grounds, and staff. Treated her to afternoon tea, which in my opinion was way over priced for what we got. I've had much better for far less. The China was gorgeous, but why not match the sugar bowl and milk jug to it?
Will return for lunch, but not for afternoon tea.

Note no elevator/baggage lift with mostly gravel paths (wheels won't work so well) so don't make the baggage heavy.
The staffs won't call a taxi but should be able to give some number for you to call them yourself.
D. R.This is one of those rare places where everything you see, eat, drink or experience is fantastic. We were lucky enough to attend a friend's wedding here and it couldn't have been better. The setting is stunning, the room was basic but had character, the food excellent, and the staff were lovely. We're already trying to figure out when we can come back!
B. H.This was our third time to stay at Castle Durrow and as on our previous visits, it was wonderful. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. We arrived on the first day of opening after several months of lockdown and I must say the staff were very attentive and helpful. We will be back!
P. D.Attended a wedding reception a Castle Durrow. The grounds of the castle are fantastic & lend itself wonderfully for a wedding. The reception rooms were ornately & originally decorated. The service for the meal left a lot to be desired. The service was slow & haphazard to say the least. It took over 4hrs to get from serving v starter to serving the desert. The beef that was served was poorly cooked; which was disappointing given how nice the remainder of the food was once it finally arrived
M. T.My husband and I spent only 24 hours at this amazing hotel last weekend and we will definitely be going back. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and plentiful, the grounds are lovely and laid out very well. I can't recommend it enough.

R. F.My uncle Tommy brought me here for to celebrate my communion. We had a lovely time until this fella came started spreading lies. Teresa got awful upset. Nowhere did he mention his well drank pint with Willie Harold.
D. G.What a fantastic spot . We play wedding MUSIC there regularly and its always fantastic and the staff like Rey cannot do enough for you. Especially when my wife was pregnant he really went above and beyond. Today saourse the wedding organiser was fantastic it was a great day and she made sure everyone was well looked after . c. s.Was here for afternoon tea today and had some very uncommon specific dietary requirements. The staff were so accommodating and helpful in making me included in the whole tea experience. Loved it all. Thank you so much.
A. F.attended wedding at Castle Durrow and had a very nice time. Bar staff and wait staff were very helpful. We had a Garden Suite which was detached from the main part of the castle. Room was nice. but locks on doors were rather tricky to use. Additionally, in the room (or whatever was attached to our room by the bathroom) there was a noisy dog. Not sure if pets are allowed or why there was a dog present, but this was one of only two negatives of our stay. The other was the lack of internet connectivity. only wireless is in the lobby which is very slow. Otherwise, beautiful venue, with lots of great picturesque views.

I've no idea how this place is not 6 star ******. I've stayed in 5 star that's not even cone close. Castle Durrow is a must visit and stay.
