The Conservatory is my go-to place every single time I go to the Wicklow for a bicycle spin or a day trip with the car or motorcycle.
The menu is short and simple but every single option is great.
Vegetable soup, minestrone soup, spinach and goat cheese pie are all excellent and well made. The soups come with an incredibly good savoury scone.
Deserts: apple pie with cream or ice cream, bakewell tart, pavlova, sticky toffee pudding. All excellent once more.
The staff is friendly and it really feels like we are eating at home. Sometimes they seem a bit overwhelmed by the workload so the wait time might be a bit longer than expected. But you shouldn't go there if you are in a hurry, you should enjoy your time. :)
There is an outside seating area which is great for the sunny days.
Warmly recommended!

Beautiful little Cafe, with proper homemade foods. We had a spinach goat cheese tart that was delicious and a super nice chocolate toffee cake. The menu was small (usually a sign of quality, as in this case) and looked looked like it would change quite frequently. Super child-friendly. Outside area didn't have umbrellas, so beware. I'll definitely remember this one!

The best quiche and soup I’ve ever had. So hearty and delicious and such good value too. My only regret was not having enough space for dessert. The people who run the place were really lovely too!

Incredible hidden gem, homecooked food made with care and attention to detail that only someone passionate about their trade can apply. Highly recommended, worth the drive down on a weekend for the desserts alone!
Bring cash, they don't accept card, and there's no ATM for seven miles.

Savoury scones and the soup ... Best meal after a hike! This was my first visit to the Wicklow area and we stopped at the conservatory for a meal after the hike. Being a vegetarian, the food choices are limited and frankly not so great. I ordered the one soup option I had with my fingers crossed. Keeping up to its reputation though, this turned out to be the best meal I had on the Ireland trip. Thank you for making the trip most memorable.

Amazing wee cafe with indoor and outdoor seating serving teas and coffees, along with soup, scones and cakes. There's not a huge menu but what is on it is exceptional. The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever had - definitely a must to try!

One of Wicklow's hidden gems, The Conservatory is my family's favourite cafe hands down! Lisa and the staff are wonderful, the food is really REALLY good, and the dogs are friendly and love a cuddle. You won't be disappointed! Take note: they're only open on weekends.

All handmade there! Loved the place, the views, the desserts, everything was amazing!

We came here post hike and it was the perfect relaxing and wholesome sit down we needed. The area was near a popular cyclist hotspot, and we walked in and were taken great care of. The staff were very friendly and made us really feel at home, the owners (I believe) friendly dogs roamed around a bit. It was a great experience, the food was also fantastic, everything homemade and fresh, the scones were still warm when we received them. I would highly recommend for good food, great service and a lovely homely atmosphere.
Would also take note: bring cash as they do not take credit cards!

Whenever we drive this way, we have to stop here. Genuine homemade food and baked goods (the kitchen is a gem!), such a lovely, romantic environment, combined with friendly, attentive service, and a great selection of food and teas. It is the loveliest when the weather is good and sunny, and one can sit outside, enjoying the sunshine. I would sit facing the building, it looks like one in a fairy tale.

Lovely little cafe in a conservatory with wonderful food. The minestrone soup was some of the nicest I've ever had and the scones where delightful.
K. D.
Charming cafe with great, curated selection of high-quality items. Scones are a winner! Friendly, welcoming staff. Certainly worth a check if in the area.
Covid controls -
Good selection of indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. Hand sanitiser at each indoor table. Toilets clean and with individual hand cloths. Couldn't fault.

Yesterday we did the red trail on the Wicklow gap, and we were craving a nice coffee and some place to sit quietly afterwards. We stumbled upon The Conservatory in Google Maps and I can safely say I haven't been so surprised for a while! The place is beautiful, the menu is freshly made every day and brought to you to see before you order it, and the natural atmosphere is just incredible with tended gardens and glass ceilings. The staff is super friendly, amongst them was the owner/manager who is just an incredible woman who has rescued and taken in Tina (cat), Cú (mix of Setter and black Lab) and Milly (a mix of Saint Bernard and Bernese who was almost put down by her previous owners but she is a SAINT). I cannot wait to go back - it's a little far from Dublin city but worth the trip every once in a while!

Short menu but every option is delicious and homemade! The owner is the kindest and sweetest lady! And the atmosphere is so relaxing and cozy! Beautiful decoration, soft music and amazing scenery! I am in love with this place! The best so far in ireland!

It is worth the visit for the sticky toffee pudding alone. Best sticky toffee you will ever try in your life. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

Great soup and delish savoury scone... super chilled and relaxing, especially after a Sunday hike! Place is done up lovely with some adorable touches and attention to detail. The owner is also very friendly... this is my favourite post-hike spot in Wicklow (and I wish there was a similar spot in every county for regular visits!) Delicious hot chocolate too and THE best Sticky Toffee Pudding: I defy you to find a better one! Nature-friendly with outdoor seating too and the most gorgeous and affectionate red setter dog too. A slice of heaven! Most recommended!

A great place to rest up for a while & have a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate & scone. Lovely homemade food in a beautiful setting with friendly service. Well worth the visit.

This delightfully quirky coffee shop is very unusual and maybe for those with time to spare! All food cooked in the kitchen next door to the dining area with huge Aga cooker - scones just cooked appear like magic, home made jam to die for but try to taste the homemade Lemon Curd....hmmmmm.... plus the Winter Vegetable soup would fill an army of starving teenagers!! Wonderful conservatory with gardens - and a dog or two lying around just to make it more cosy...... one of my favourite places..... but alas, only open on weekends......
J. S.
Such a wonderful spot for home cooked food and friendly staff!

My favourite place for a coffee. Sticky toffee pudding is my fav. Also I like minestrone soup here. And I travel nearly 60 Kms from my home to go to this place!

Lovely place to treat yourself after a hard day walking or kayaking. Little pricey but worth it, especially for the divine sticky toffee pudding.

(Translated) Staff very friendly and fast. The waitress asked if we were there the first time and then she explained the whole map to us.
Super tasty homemade soups always with a hearty scone. The sweet scones are also delicious.

Personal sehr freundlich uns schnell. Die Kellnerin hat uns gefragt, ob wir das erste mal da sind und dann hat sie uns die ganze Karte erklärt.
Super leckere hausgemachte Suppen immer mit einem herzhaften Scone. Die süßen Scone sind auch super lecker.

(Translated) Wonderful tea room near Glendalough and Old Military Road. Cozy atmosphere under its beautiful glass roof, well flowered terrace, friendly service. Slate has little choice, but it is to be seen as a guarantee of quality. Delicious minestrone and scone, and exceptional toffee pudding! A very good value for money, but beware there are few places, the hotel does not serve alcohol, and must be paid in cash.

(Translated) Decent cakes, a beautiful place, but a maddening slowness when it comes to serving. Taking into account that in 500 meters there are more options, but it is not worth it.
(Original)
Tartas decentes, un sitio precioso, pero una lentitud exasperante a la hora de servir. Teniendo en cuenta que en 500 metros hay más opciones igual no merece la pena.
