Very good option for vegetarians... Specially if you are south Indian, you are gonna love the it.. good food .. I tried samosa Chaat and must say it was too yum 😋 must try dish. I am giving 4 star because I ordered meal 1 and I didn't like the bread( chapati) .. otherwise overall the food is good and curries are tasty.

Love love love this little gem of a place. A small menu that delivers big on flavours. We ordered almost everything on the menu today and had the most amazing feast for ourselves at home then for the evening. So delicious!!
A. P.
Stumbled upon this amazing little shop on my dosa expedition in Ireland, and I have to admit that as far as dosas go, the food here is class!
Wait time is long, but once you’ve tasted the food, all of that melts away like the flavours in the food. You can tell it is fresh and authentic as each flavour explodes in your mouth. The dosa and the samosa chaat were amazing and I highly recommend it.
Perfect Sunday lunch in Cork.
The food is vegan and vegetarian, and really serves up the taste of South India.

Really awesome authentic South Indian food!
We had the thali and some aloo chaat to start. Delish!
Will be back to try the Mysore coffee and hopefully they’ll also do a dosa or idli one day!
S. P. M.
Super sweet people work here and the food is absolutely brilliant. As a South Indian, I vouch for the authenticity of this place. Very impressed, will go back for sure!
The masala dosa is the star of the show!
J. H.
MOST amazing food in Cork by far!! You must come here and experience the amazing taste! They are all so kind also😀And it’s very reasonably priced!

Now I know what to do in Cork City center on a weekend - Have Dahi Samosa Chaat or Dosa and finish it off with Chai. Had their meal - 2 option in my previous visit. Authentic Sambar and curries. Looking forward to try their other dishes.
A. D.
Location: City center. Parking: Diificult to find on weekends. Ambiance: Good. Menu: Limited menu, Dishes tasted: Onion uttapam, Mix veg uttapam, Dahi samosa chat. Taste: Good, Price: Costly as compared to Quantity. Improvement area; Chai or Tea needs improvement. Very light. Chatni taste needs improvement. Sambar was awesome.

One of best restaurants for indian vegetarian. The taste is authentic. It only opens for a few days in a week. It is one of the best places to eat in town.
s. j.
Iconic south indian restaurant in city centre, Dosas very very crispy and sambar was lip smacking tasty. Authentic taste! Portions are good.
A. V.
A go-to place for the best masala dosa in town 🍽 staff are polite and kind hearted 💟
K. S.
We got a meal one and a jackfruit wrap(surpassed all expectations) between us. The food is wonderful, so much so I had to go back and thank them. The staff lovely . Will go back the next time I'm in Cork. Best vegetarian food I have had in a very long time. Couldn't recommend them enough. 😁😁

The best(only) south Indian restaurant in cork.
Amazing food. Super tasty, fresh ingredients. Good to see lot of non-indians queue up for dosa, uthapam and samosa
V. V.
WOW. WOW. WOW.
Literally cannot explain how delicious the food was. This is the closest to indian food I've had in Ireland. The portion is so huge, I literally had it for lunch and dinner, have some for tomorrow as well. My favourite was the samosa channa chaat. It tasted exactly like how it does back in India.
Being an iyer myself, this is one amazing restaurant if you want to have a combination of north indian and south Indian meal. Wonderful and friendly staff . ❤️
Going for their dosas tomorrow, couldn't wait until tom to post this review. LOVED IT 😍
A. K. R.
Craving for Indian food in Ireland?? Need some snacks that reminds you of chat walas of India ? Visit this place, you will surely not be dissapointed. Loved that Dahi samosa Chaat 👌
G. M.
Selling dosa’s, Idli on sunday only, it should be updated here. No sitting arrangement inside, food was good, authentic sambar taste.
R. J.
Amazing tasty vegetarian food. "Meal 1" was wonderful value and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to coming back to this great spot the next time we visit Cork.
N. K.
The best South Indian cuisine in Cork
V.
Would definitely recommend the ghee masala dosa if they are serving it coupled with a Mysore filter coffee.
L. V.
I am from the same place as the cook and I loved the food. He finds a rare balance between being authentic and catering to the local taste. The thali is amazing. I only wish it was open during the weeknights more.
A. S.
Good tasty Indian food. Friendly staffs. Can sit outside and eat. Highly recommended.
A. K.
Long queues but worth the wait. They change their menu from time to time. Hands down the best dosa in Ireland.
E. J.
A small place to taste Indian vegetarian food. It's kind of irishized, so not very much like authentic Indian. But it's a good vibe and tasty spot.
M. E. K.
The best Southern Indian food in the city or even in co. Cork! Very reasonable prices, the Cook chooses the best produces and makes a good variety of dishes every week. The cakes are worth a try too. Very friendly staff. Always a pleasure to eat and support this family-run business.
D. M.
Fabulous Indian vegetarian restaurant along the banks of the lovely Lee river in Cork. A cosy little place that serves a changing menu of wonderful Indian dishes of varying levels of spiciness that can dialled up or down depending on your preference. All freshly prepared and team out front are very friendly and welcoming, Iyers is also great value. Definitely worth a visit if you like this style of cuisine
A. J.
Nice taste , chats and dosa both were good .. You just have to wait for long time for both chats and dosa .
Service is very nice
R. P.
Best crispy dosa outside of India ... eat and cherish the dosa and feel to be back to South of India
D. F.
Delicious. Highly recommended.
B. M.
Just tried iyers last night, amazing food, blown away with the flavors and variety of dishes . Wish I had found this little hidden gem years ago. Can’t wait to try the rest of the food on the menu. 10 out of 10.
O. N.
Iyer's is reasonably priced. You get good portions for what you pay for in the box. Just wish that they would use recyclable materials for their take away.
The staff are friendly and quick. You get your order quiet quickly.
It is wheelchair accessible. There is wheelchair accessible seating outside. The seating outside has a lovely view of River Lee.
#accessible #family #wheelchairaccessible #familyfriendly

Pretty good place to have authentic South Indian dishes. Definitely recommend.

Authentic south Indian food! Highly recommend
S. L.
Having spent some time in India, we can safely say this is the most authentic South Indian food we've tasted outside of India. Simply delicious!
E. A.
Lassi was on point, the dosa and sambar was salty but bearable for the price, a South Indians heaven and the only one in ireland. Oh ya the chats are pretty good
A. M.
Delicious authentic food and very friendly staff.
I would really recommend trying it.
J. K.
Excellent vegetarian Southern India cooking. Generous flavoursome portions and a great pomegranate and orange cake to follow. Friendly attentive service very much appreciated.
S. R.
Best vegetarian food in Cork, and easily the best Indian food in Cork. Authentic and delicious. The daily special is usually worth trying, and the friendly staff are always more than happy to explain the dishes. They'll happily cater to vegans, and now take card payments (previous reviews stated that they take only cash, this is no longer the case). The premises is small, and always crowded at lunch hour, but this is simply in support of how amazing the food is. Always worth the squeeze! (For best comfort, avoid the lunch rush from 1-2pm).
r. b.
Very decent Indian food. Tried plain dosa, uthappam and samosa chat and all of them were good. Dosa and uthappam need different type of batter with different taste and usually is the first thing I look for. Iyers passed the taste test for dosa right away. Next in line was the chutney (red) and sambhar. They were pretty good (4/5). Although my expectations for samosa chat weren’t high, but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavour. It is a must to try in Cork!
T. S.
Good food, and good service. The staff are happy to recommend dishes, and do so well. There are only 2 issues, both down to it being quite a small place:
1. It may be a long while before they serve you.
2. They don’t appear to be able to bring food out at the same time, so one of us finished eating before the other person’s food had arrived. This happened to most of the groups around us too.
M. O.
Lovely little place that serves authentic, vegetarian only Indian food. They don't take bookings, can seat 10 people over 5 tables & only take cash. The staff are very friendly and are really happy to offer advise on what to try. The dosa is divine and we really loved the pistachio rosewater cake and the orange pomegranate cake. Really worth a try, especially if you like something different.
Y. N.
The food is really amazing and the staff is lovely.
M.
Delicious food, authentic Indian taste! An absolute must try for anyone living in or visiting Cork city!
S. M.
Delicious food, great prices!
R. K.
Very authentic, tasty food. Pleasant staff who knew what they were offering in terms of food though they were Irish. What is disappointing without taking away any marks for the excellent food is that the spicy chutneys are way too dilute and that's not how they are supposed to be.. however, once again fantastic and authentic food with great service
D. P.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff and incredibly healthy and tasty selection of food :) best spot for vegan food!
K. S.
Best place to get South Indian food ANYWHERE! Not just in Cork. The restaurant can't hold a lot of people so please be prepared to wait. However, once you are seated, the taste and price of the food will soon make you realise that the wait was, indeed, worth it. Great restaurant with warm, friendly staff and quick service. Gautham and Caroline Iyer are culinary magicians!
g. s.
Excellent south Indian vegetarian food. The place is small, with only maybe seating for 12 or 15, but well worth it. Menu varies daily, and has several dishes that one would not find in the normal Indian restaurant here (which is usually Kashmiri/Pahistani, to be honest). I cannot fault it.
Incidentally, Iyer's has been awarded "best world cuisine" in Munster in 2019, from public votes. This is against some fairly stiff competition, particularly in Cork city.
s. k.
Very expensive and quantity is very less , tried masala dosa and the filling was very less, taste is ok ,not fully satisfied
B. W.
As a committed meat-eater...you have to be talking about something special to get me excited about vegetarian food. This was pretty special.
All of what my wife and I had was good...but the samosas with chick peas, yoghurt, mint and pomegranate deserve special mention.
Worth noting that this is a cafe rather than a restaurant...no booze on offer and I think cash only.
Enjoyed!
R. D.
Delicious vegitarian food. We usually get a takeaway as the restaurant has only a few tables so it's often difficult to get a seat. It's very good value. It has a small menu which changes. You can choose between several rice dishes, samosas and dosas. We usually get samosa chaat, a rice dish and one of their homemade desserts. It's enough for 2 and shouldn't cost more than €20.
R. B.
The best place in Cork City to eat South Indian vegetarian food. Eyes closed go for good food. Excellent attitude and the owner is simply awesome person. He helped me to get sambar rice even after they closed it.
n. m.
Delicious South Indian and Indian street food. Cozy place, a bit small with few tables but no bookings taken. So you may have to wait a little. They have good desserts as well! Masala Dosa and Samosa chat a must try and of course the Mango Lassi.
N. L.
Superb. Authentic is an abused description but the food from Iyers is genuinely the most authentic Indian food in the country
P. R.
Love it great food great staff love the atmosphere
V. B.
Vegetarian only Indian food? Sign me up! Quite small (10-12?) and you can't reserve but the food is definitely worth it to pop in or call ahead whether there is room. Prices are below average in Cork and definitely a steal for the food they serve. I'll be back!
O. C.
A must for anyone who enjoys good food, the masala dosa is amazing and their specials change daily so you are always spoilt for choice. Friendly, helpful staff who make the make the experience even better.
s. a.
We try to visit at least monthly once. It connects the missing points of a South Indian eat outs we had back home. Wish it was open 5 days and at least on a Sunday with breakfast option 😋. Must go for a vegetarian in Cork.
T. T.
Love chaats and masala dosa from iyers .. i cn eat them all day .. my frds came all the way from dublin to njoy indian ... i tried mango lasi as well and its amazing .. m not so impressed with chai though .. its not nice n kadak indian chai its light
S. D.
The best Indian food I ever had in Ireland so far.
c. m.
Wonderful food that just happens to be vegetarian and Indian. Lovely atmosphere and service. Cash only. And only 12 seats. In my opinion, please don't take up limited seating if you "don't like"spicy" food".
J. K.
Great place to visit for an Indian experience that's very different from most/all Indian restaurants in town. if only it was a little bit bigger as have had to give up on eating there than once due to its popularity.
P. O.
Most authentic South Indian food I've had in Ireland. Well priced and good portions too
J. M.
The most delightful restaurant serving authentic and really tasty vegan food. Service and atmosphere 10/10. When are you opening up in Sligo? 🙏
E. o.
Great South Indian food fit for the gods blessed to have it in cork
D. M.
The only Indian restaurant in Cork where Indian patrons often outnumber locals. Proper South Indian food, just like I've had in the lunchtime cafeteria in Bangalore. No meat or fish. Love it.
C. R.
Must Try Idli...you might have to wait 20 mins but wait is totally Worth it👌😊
L. N. C.
Beautiful Indian street food with catering for veggies and vegans, small space so you may have to queue, but it's worth it. The vegan chai brownie is amazing!
T. B.
Simply the best Indian vegetarian eatery in town. Food selection is not the biggest, but what they do offer is really tasty. And it's cheep too!
K. B.
Absolutely brilliant authentic South Indian vegetarian food! Best Indian vegetarian food I have had outside India. Courteous staff, lovely location! Strongly recommended!
C. O.
Excellent food atmosphere and prices. This the whole package for vegetarian food. The only thing I would like is for it to be bigger. It sits 12 but it would still be packed at 35.
T. B.
Superb vegetarian South Indian food. Quite a small menu, but all the food is so tasty. And great value for money.
B. U.
Amazing food#absolutely homemade traditional taste ❤❤❤

Amazing vegetarian/vegan Indian food and great service. Only downside is the small size especially since it is so popular. Make sure to try some cake.

Masala dosa! And everything here is lovely bar the coffee which isn't to my taste but that's the only thing I don't like and isn't enough to drop any stars, love the food here:)
V. B.
*Must visit for one time* *Indian restaurant* Small and compact restaurant, only few tables for eating, very less menu served as opposed to what published in deliveroo because the menu keeps changing everyday itseems.
A. S.
