Lovely restaurant. Nice staff. Good food. We had a very nice time at this restaurant after a disappointing day at Fota. We had a great carvery lunch and a nice kids meal. The chicken wings were good as well. Recommended for sure.

Haven't been here since before the great pandemic and I was pleasantly surprised that, if anything, the standard of food and service is as good, if not better than before. We had the choice of dining indoors or outdoors, choice and quality of the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive, without being intruding. Value for money was excellent as you would pay dearly for the same fare in a so called upmarket restaurant.

Went for Sunday carvery, food though was just okay and definitely not the best carvery we've had. Choice was limited. Was allowed one meat instead of say a small selection of each. Reminded me of a hostel, a bit like a conveyor belt, which is understood I suppose, considering the amount of diners pouring in. Very pleasant surroundings and the young waitress we had was extremely helpful. Not sure I'll go again.

Had family lunch there today after a lovely morning in Photo Island. Girl at the door politely scanned our certs , recorded name and a contact number and showed us to our seats. The staff in carvery were more that accommodating , as were all the floor staff. Our meals were lovely. We had a 3 year old with us and the waitress who was busy took the time to speak to him and ask him if Santa was coming and what he was bringing. Highly recommend.

OMG, haven't been here in a very long time! We had a fabulous meal,the food was amazing, the staff very friendly & attentive & the restaurant itself is just beautiful; maybe it was all the Christmas decorations & lights but I thought it was magical! I thought it would be quiet on a Monday evening but it was busy; that speaks volumes itself about the place.

We've done a group Christmas get together as a group in here many times. Food was disappointing this year. Venue looked great as always, but the steak was a chewy poor quality cut. The cheesecake base was too thick and needed a shovel to cut it. From a group of 5, the consensus was "poor"

7 of us meet for lunch. I personally only had a coffee which taste burnt but that just my opinion I am very odd when it comes to my coffee. Everyone else got wraps and sandwiches and they all really enjoyed it. The portions were generous for the price. Their kids menu was fantastic! Service was quite poor and food is terribly overpriced. Ordered a chicken curry. Came without chicken at first and had to be sent back and chicken was just thrown on top of what had been sent out. Asked for half rice half chips and was told this is not possible. For a restaurant that charges high prices for a curry, the least they could do is give half and half if someone asks for it. No consideration for the customer. It seems as it is was all about getting the food out and getting the money for it. Now I have gone back since and I had a better experience. Staff were quicker and more attentive. At these high prices you expect to be looked after extremely well in an establishment such as this.

Very nice place with a good atmosphere The songs that they play makes it brilliant if you want to bring your partner out but not great for a first date if you have children then this is perfect for you!!! My only problem is that it feels a bit crowded at times and the toilets were disgusting there was pee under the sink and it smelled but other than that it was a very nice place I give this 4 stars

We had a fantastic meal in our favourite restaurant last night 12th June. What an experience . First class set up in one of 3 marquees. We were greeted by Roy and shown to our table. The place and ambience was outstanding. We hadn't been there since before Christmas and couldn't wait to get back. We were greeted by Eoin Lisa and Derek and of course Keith in the bar. Great service from Conor. We regard these people as friends highly competent in their jobs. The food was delicious thanks to the great panel of chefs in the kitchen. Overall a fantastic experience as always 100% in every aspect of this superb bar and restaurant. It was good to be back.👏👏👏👏👏

The vegetarian food was good overall, especially the breadboard starter. The 'veef' burger was tasty but perhaps the texture could benefit from more firmness. However I was disappointed to find they are not dog-friendly as my small dog was not allowed in their large outdoor dining area. Enjoyed our stay there. The covid guidelines there were great, first time I have seen a restaurant with the high standard of precautions, on my arrival there were hand sanitizer stations and menus were cleaned after each use , and there were glass shields between booths, and disinfecting wipes. The food was absolutely delicious, very good price for something well cooked, I had the feather blade beef it was soft and juicy yet no fat, and potatoes and gravy jus. My cousin had the brisket burger she really enjoyed it also, the waiter/ess were very quick and professional, we also had desert they were lovely and in fair price. I have seen their drinks menu, there was a good list of choices also. Quality food, service and cleaniness, I definitely would go back again.

Fabulous set up during these difficult times. I can't wait to return. Our group of 4 were promptly seated at our table our hostess Trish introduced herself and explained that the menus were wiped down regularly and if we chose not to use the menus that we could scan the barcode on the table and the menu would appear on our phones. She also explained that we may hear a buzzer going off, but that was to remind staff to sanitize their hands at the station for them by the bar, and yes we did hear the buzzer and promptly all staff made their way to the bar to sanitize their hands. Service was prompt and attentive, food was excellent and plentiful for us all. Clean plates returned to the kitchen and left exceptionally happy with our chosen venue for our dinner. Keep up the good work to all at The Elm Tree.

We had a family meal here yesterday with a mixture of adults and children. The meal was very good and we were looked after by a charming and helpful lady. The whole experience was very pleasant. This is a very attractive pub/restaurant, with super sandwich selection and excellent soups. Their fish chowder is my favourite - I have never managed to order anything else so far. Maybe on my next visit! Also has a very tasty carvery menu if that is your preference. Full Bar service available too. Well worth a visit and it won't break the bank.

We went to the Fota wildlife and were looking for a place close to the hotel (Radisson). Found this place and loved it. Food very very good. Only downside, service was slow, waitress took forever to bring a coke and a glass of wine (we almost finished dinner). Apart from that everything else deserved 5 stars, would definitely go back.

I can take or leave the Elm Tree, but I know more people that love it than dislike it. I think it's just not my kind of place. Those who like it, appreciate the food, the desserts, the layout & the fact that it's good for groups. A lot of family occasions. I find it a bit too big, noisy & busy. But it is comfortable spacious & tastefully modern. And I never had anything bad to eat here.

I usually come here for Sunday lunch. They have a fantastic method for seating people and while there is often a queue you will always be shown to a table. Lovely food and decor in the restaurant... Except for Sunday carvery. It has won awards for it's carvery and the food served is top quality but not my ideal dining experience. You have to queue with a tray like in a school canteen which is not what I pay €14(ish) for. Then if the usual restaurant table isn't available, you are bright to their event room where there's long pop up tables to eat at. The staff are very helpful throughout though

This is what one would call a perfect restaurant. They had it all organized from top to bottom. We got a shuffle down from the hotel we were staying at just up the road. When we arrived we were quickly sat at the bar and ordered our food. We played a game of cards with our drinks and when we decided to sit down we did and shortly after the food arrived. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. There was live music and every table seemed taken but somehow they still managed to keep traffic coming in and happy people leaving. Then when we were finished the shuffle driver came and picked us up at our table. Overall it was a great experience.

We arrived on Saturday evening with 2 young kids and no reservation. Staff were very friendly and found us a table immediately and as a bonus for my husband we had a view of the tv which was showing the Ireland V France game on a low volume so nobody else was made to listen or watch if they didn't want to. The restaurant is lovely in terms of decor and atmosphere so it really felt like going out instead of grabbing a quick dinner with the kids. The staff brought over paper place mats and crayons for the kids to go colouring so they were happy from the start. We ordered from the children's menu first and they asked if we wanted that food out first which of course is great as parents will understand. I had the lamb shank which was delicious and fell off the bone, the vegetables served were done to perfection. My husband had the baked salmon and he enjoyed every bite. The kids ate fish and chips for the eldest and pasta and goujons for the younger child and both meals were gobbled up. Their meals came with a choice of drinks and a desserts which was great. They both had the chocolate brownies with icecream and again were happy out. We didn't linger after as bedtime was calling but we were very pleased with our experience in The Elm Tree and will be back. I would say that you should make a reservation especially on a Saturday night as it was busy and we were lucky to get the table, probably because we were eating early.
