Lovely atmospheric restaurant, right on the Quays. It's menu is the best I've seen for dietary requirements. There are dairy free and gluten free options but also dairy/gluten "adjust" on lots of the dishes, which is super helpful and something that would be great to see more of. Had a really delicious carrot and ginger soup with Guinness bread for starters. The mains were tasty with generous portions and very nice sides. Really recommended for a post lighthouse cinema dinner!

What a lively spot with tasty food and great service! Had both gluten feee vegan dishes plus the flat iron steak and hake fish at our table and we ate every last drop. Desert was the most delicious gluten free brownie I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a meal here. Foodie heaven Oh what a night of taste bud delights. Beautiful quaint place. The staff are friendly and cant do enough for you. Atmosphere is nice and relaxing. There is a great selection of food on the menu. What i ordered was most definitely enjoyed immensely especially the creme brulee it was the best i have had thus far in any establishment. I went with my family last night and the 2 staff on service were incredible, so lovely, I only got the girls name (Paula), didn't catch the guys name but both we're great and so attentive even though so busy and only 2 running service. The food was incredible and couldn't believe there was only 2 people in the kitchen. Just back from one of the best meals we've had in Dublin. The house salad was chock full of cashews, artichoke, sun-dried tomato, and a nice mix of fresh greens. The beef carpaccio with truffle mayo was incredible, and the duck dish was outstanding. There was a nice variety of wines to match our tasty dishes. Finally, the service was friendly and helpful.

Very nice eating place serving good food with two or three course options. Staff were very friendly and service was good. We started with soup of the day which came with Guinness bread - (yum). For second course, I went for gnocchi and my son had lamb. There are a shortage of decent eating places in the area and this is certaintly worth considering.

I've been here with my 4 years old daughter. Service is good. Also the atmosphere is very nice. They have special dishes for kids and we took chicken with chips. I took fish and chips with an Ipa beer. This chicken was very tender and well cooked. Also the chips were very crispy and good. Fish and chips was great: well fried and with salt and vinegar. I recommend this place for a good dinner.

One of my favourite restaurants in city center. Food is always good quality. I love the duck liver parfait. The grape chutney compliments so well with the parfait and the toast. What a delightful dish. I tried confit chicken leg twice and still haven't got enough of it. So delicious. Rump of Conemmara Hill lamb is beautiful too. Service is always excellent. Atmosphere is lovely. The restaurant is a bit out of the center but as long as it has great service and great food, nothing else matter to me.

LOVED THIS PLACE!! We went yesterday for dinner and it was simply amazing. I have eaten at some good spots in Dublin, but this was one of the best! The service was really good. They were very attentive. We had Dinner (pan seared trout/ braised beef) + Dessert (blueberry creme brulee/ chocolate brownie). Awesome!!

All tasted really good. however would drop one star as the menu was a bit restrictive on main courses, cocktail menu was limited to mostly persecco mixes (no whiskey or rums) and we were served a different beer than the one on the menu without warning!

We had reservations here on a Friday night at 6:30pm. I do recommend reservations. There were people who were turned away closer to 7:30/8:00pm who didn't have reservations. Overall service was good. Attentive with giving more water, dishes came in good timing. I had the fish and chips which were very good. Even the thick chips which I don't usually love were good. My husband had the steak frites which he also really enjoyed. And we finished off with the shortbread dessert.

If ever a place earned a 5 star review, this restaurant did tonight. PHX Bistro was a total accidental find based on, yes the menu looked good and reasonably priced, but the tipping point was that It was literally less than a block from where I'm staying in Dublin. After flying in from the States this morning, having someplace with potential that didn't involve a long walk or cab ride tipped the scales. Lucky me. There were easily a half dozen things between the menu and the specials board that looked appealing. I ended up going for the Sea Trout which was perfectly prepared with a seared skin and moist, flaky flesh. first below the trout filet were still crisp but nice and hot (how did they do that?) fresh green beans and settled atop a sun-blush tomato mash. Most chefs would have stopped there, but not these guys. A lemon cream sauce encircled the mash and was SO GOOD when a fork full of the mash was run through it. I was so excited to talk about the main course, I forgot about the soup special starter, a tomato and red pepper concoction with just a little kick to it. Served with a slice of Guinness bread. I had interactions with two of the servers and they were both that perfect blend of friendly, personable and professional. I'm only in town three nights, but it's highly likely I'll spend another evening at PHX. It's not likely I'll find better food.

This was my first time venturing into the the big, bad, covid-infested (all according to our government and its advisors 🙄)restaurant scene since September 2020 and it was good to experience a smidgin of liberty after the latest nonsensical lockup of nearly six months. I'm glad I chose PHX to celebrate my release from captivity. PHX has done its utmost to offer as near normal an experience as possible under the ongoing denial of total freedom by our medicalised political powers. With very limited outside space (being on a narrow quayside pavement) they have been really imaginative in organising their limited number of tables (I think there were seven tables accommodating about twelve diners). We had a table for two which was perfectly adequate for our two hour dining slot early on a Tuesday evening in mid June. Service by the waitresses on duty was friendly, efficient and professional throughout. The menu is straightforward and unfancy as expected in a bistro setting. For starters we chose tiger prawns pil pil and duck liver parfait, both of which came with toasted sourdough slices. Both starters were excellent and we had two bottles of pale ale to go with them. For main courses, we both had fish and chips - delicious, flaky cod in a light batter and excellent skin-on chips with salad and a very good tartare sauce. We chose a Viognier from the Pays d'Oc to match with this, and an excellent match it was too at a very reasonable (restaurant) price of €27. This wine would be an ideal pairing with any of the lighter dishes on PHX's menu. Two excellent espressos rounded off the meal and we went contentedly on our way in the warm, sunny summer's evening to engage with a city centre pub providing outdoor pints. I recommend PHX for an outdoor dining experience despite its limited space. Hopefully, it will be able to accommodate patrons indoors soon (government nervousness permitting🤔).

Being French, I love eating at PHX's as this experience leaves me feeling nostalgic. The restaurant lives up to its reputation by serving decadent French cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. They have, nonetheless, taken a modern approach to their menu selection as is not solely focused on that region. I would highly recommend trying their perfectly cooked medium-rare Steak et Frites. However, if you feel like being blown away, as an alternative, try their Rump of Lamb which is succulent and falls off the bone. Finally, to top off the perfect evening, conclude with a Cheese Board accompanied by a beautiful glass of Bordeaux.

Went here 24/11/18 for dinner with my partner. We both thought the service from the 2 ladies who were dealing with us was exceptional and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced with the set menu. Really loved the music there and the atmosphere was great for a Saturday night. Speedy turnaround with the different courses as well. The creme brûlée was one of the nicest I've had. Very impressed and will definitely be back.

Really nice food. Had the soup of the day (tomato and red pepper) and the steak frites, both were excellent (though the fries could have used a little more salt). My wife enjoyed the salad and fish and chips. The short bread dessert was nice too - not too heavy. Service was attentive, nice atmosphere and really good value. Reservations are key, at least on a weekend: it was somewhat busy even on the early side, and by 8pm people were not able to get it.

Fairly good food at a reasonable price. A little bit out of the way of the main hustle and bustle on Capel Street. They lunch special for the day was pulled pork, which looked fantastic, I had the burger with bacon and cheese which I will definitely be popping in for again. Four point five stars instead of five as a lunch place because the inside was very dark, and no beer on tap unfortunately. But otherwise fantastic across the board including service.

Stylish restaurant with very good food and outstanding service! The price was absolutely fair and totally worth it(16€ for 2 dishes). We visited by day and the brightness in the restaurant dramatically changed when bigger vehicles passed it. The meals look very similar to the pictures made by the restaurant. The only things, which should be improved are the restroom signs, which are kind of meaningless and the cleanliness of the restroom ceilings. Nevertheless, i can fully recommend a visit.😁

Was in Dublin for a few days and we were actually looking for a good pub for dinner but the reviews for PHX looked so good that we had to try it - great decision! This place was fantastic. Their pricing is very reasonable, with the option to order a la carte off the menu, 2 course prix-fixe or 3 course prix-fixe. I started with one of the best soups I've ever had (roaster garlic & potato), then enjoyed a great pork belly dish, and finishing up with a wonderful cheesecake dessert. Stellar meal, super delicious, and amazingly for what was ordered, it wasn't that heavy. Service was also spectacular - all in all, dinner here was one of the best part's of our trip.

A truly delicious meal at exceptionally reasonable prices. The menu can be flexed three ways: 2-course prix fix, 3-course prix fix, and a la carte. A few items deservedly add a small supplement to the prix fix pricing if you include them (think steak). But you’re still under 30 euros per person regardless. We had the beef carpaccio first course special and, while not a traditional presentation, the flavors and tenderness of the beef was spot on. The PHX salad was light and fresh with a mustard vinaigrette that beautifully balanced the sun-dried tomatoes. We both had the trout with tomato mash and green beans. The fish was perfectly cooked and paired flawlessly with everything on the plate. Content from dinner and just too full, we skipped dessert. But there were plenty of options worth considering. The ambiance is welcoming and the staff is friendly. Layering that on top of farm fresh ingredients priced quite reasonably and PHX is one place to add to your rotation.

Das Bistro liegt etwas abgelegen und weiter entfernt von der Fußgängerzone und dem Stadtzentrum (ca. 10 Min Fußweg von dort aus), aber dafür direkt an der Quay. Ich empfohle ein Menü zu wählen (2-Gänge-Menü 24,90€, 3-Gänge-Menü 28,90€). Die Portionen sind enorm großzügig und das Essen ist sehr lecker. Das Carpaccio (Vorspeise), das Steak und der Burger (Hauptspeise) und das Limoncello Panna Cotta (Nachspeise) sind dabei besonders hervorzuheben. Neben dem stimmigen und gemütlichen Ambiente mit Ausblick auf den Fluss Liffey und die zahlreichen Brücken beeindruckt das Personal mit aufmerksamem und sehr freundlichen Service. Insgesamt ein eher kleines Restaurant aber mit super Ambiente und großartigem Essen!
