Happy Valley Cafe has only been open a couple of weeks but it’s already evident that it is going to be a staple of Thomastown and Co Kilkenny for a long time to come. The quality of coffee, the beautifully made sandwiches, the delicious and home made treats, the wonderful service from the towns cutest couple and the riverside location have made this a gorgeous experience that I am sure to revisit again and again. My partner had the locally sourced hot chocolate and o must admit, although I was delighted with my order, I completely lied to her when I said I just wanted a ‘sip’ of her drink and robbed a good half. Please visit these the next spare weekend you have!

I hadn’t left Dublin in 15 months when I went to Thomastown last week, it did not disappoint! A highlight of my trip was the pulled pork sandwich from Happy Valley, it was so tasty. The staff are wonderful, the coffee is delicious and the whole set up is very well organised and Covid-compliant. The location is gorgeous too, especially for river swimming.
