A. G.It's nice but not a good restoration job. Looks like they just filled in the holes with cement and there were a lot of places just blocked off. You could walk around the grounds and most of the grind floor. They did have one small building that was restored but again you could not go upstairs.
E. O. D.Beautiful gardens with a small cafe and arts exhibition. The gardens have been improved over the years. There's also a fabulous wooden playground and swings in a tree. The swings are near the big tree alley Kids love them. You can have a picnic if the weather is nice as there are plenty of spaces. They also sell their own plants and seeds.

Not a lot of person might know about this place that I really recommend visiting.
I was lucky enough to enjoy the garden on a sunny day and I was really impressed on how beautiful it is.
I recommend to visit Lismore castle and I think the best view is from the river.
It's very well preserved and I really suggest going.
D. B.Beautiful Gardens, fantastic castle. Could have done with better signage to navigate around the garden better. However it did add to the sense of discovery not knowing what was around the next corner. A fun day out. Don’t miss the delicious cakes and coffee.

m. g.Lismore Castle is private, park and heritage centre is a unique experience. Impressive gardens and innovative village park.
m. c.It would have been better to see the house too but the gardens in parts are fun for children and adults. The layout of the toilet block, art area, coffee shop and tiny shopping area are too close together for covid19 restrictions and there are no social distancing at those areas. Staff mainly good and helpful. Toilets not so good you have laid them out well but the general public do not appreciate them at all plus you need some more.

Only criticism is the entry fee is a bit steep....€15 for an adult and a child. Lovely array of beautiful flowers in full bloom. Playground is small but really lovely. Would recommend....took about 2hrs to wander round

M. D.A lovely village in Co. Waterford. Home of Lismore Castle which can be seen from the bridge. Nice walks. On the day I visited there was no where open to get a cup of tea. Town looks sad with a lot of businesses closed or for sale. Yet it has a lovely charm. Drove down to the garage over the bridge and got the most beautiful ice-cream (99s). Then took a trip up The Vee which everyone needs to visit at least once to take in the lovely views, sheep and rhododendrons

V. S.There are still people living in the castle, therefore there is no chance to walk inside. There was an exhibition which was interesting. Garden is huge and impressive. The couple actually having their own plants. Everything is amazingly green. I liked it.
F. W.Lovely gardens, we had a great sunny day, the cafe was nice too..and there was an art exhibition on when we were there.
The actual castle wasn't open to the public but the gardens were lovely and laid-back perfect for a family picnic...take the kids out of the car for a few hours and let them run about. There was a very natural kids area with wooden swings and a slide.

C. C.I absolutely loved the gardens, my children loved exploring as we walked through also...showing me new places they found and pointing out different plants and trees. There are areas to sit and enjoy the ambience, you don't feel rushed looking about. I'd definitely recommend it. It's nicely priced too.
M.Beautiful Castle. Park of the castle is home to generous people who allow guest in there garden areas. Part of the castle is available for someone to rent, which includes 29 bedrooms so probably very expensive. Garden guests are aloud withing both garden areas a restaurant and a small art gallery. Very beautiful and well kept.
P. B.Very nice gardens and castle. you are only allowed to visit one small part of the entire castle which is slightly disappointing. this houses a very small art gallery and a small art gallery. The two big gardens were worth seeing and very interesting. a lot of gardeners working in this area and the range of trees and plants is impressive. Two pieces of the old Berlin wall make it worth to see and enjoy
m. c.Would have given more stars if there were tours of the castle interior on offer. Castle offers one or two occasions a year to actually access the big hall (tea and scones, Christmas carols) otherwise it is the gardens only. Beautiful building in a dramatic setting.

B.There are so many castles in Ireland and at some stage this becomes boring but Lismore is one of the best. Big, well kept and still in use.Just as a reminder, this castle is privately owned and you can't go inside unless you book a room to stay overnight.You can take a nice garden tour where there are so many fruit trees, vegetable and botanic gardens.
N. H.Most beautiful, and just so idyllic.... We walked the river this runs the grounds.... 100% has to visited if your in the locale... Its atypical, stunning castle. Owned and managed by the Devonshire (Duke of) and between March and October the grounds are open to visitors (please check Lismore Castles website re exact times and pricing). It was the first castle myself and my family (fiance and two small children) visited once we moved here.... Very beautiful place Lismore...
D. W.This is a beautiful location with a small castle (not open) with beautiful gardens. Certainly worth the time if you can leisurely walk the several gardens. Vendors with home made goods are at the entrance and seem to have quality products for sale.
A. I.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gardens are closed at 4.30pm. Gardens are set up like terraces. Each level has a different theme. Huge collection of flowers. Really touristic and nice town as well.

J. G.While there are many interesting castles to see in Ireland, Lismore is all about the beautiful, expansive gardens. The castle itself is occupied and only viewable from the outside.
Be sure to make your way to the old watch tower at the far corner for some great photos. Lismore is a must-see stop for any trip to Ireland.

J. L.Spent three hours wandering the grounds, and I'd say that at least half the plants have not come into bloom yet. Like walking through a flower catalogue. Negative, the art and statues leans toward a modern impressionist style. Not my preference.

This is an amazing place to visit. Well worth the entry fee of €8 per adult. But I knocked one star from my rating as reading another person being charged €6.50 for a three year old! That could be reconsidered?

It looks very beautiful, but I had an expectation of getting into the castle. But we can't as it's a private property. I didn't go to the garden, it's probably nice, but I don't fancy that.
H. K.Inside can not be visited, because it is a private residence. You can visit garden, graphics exhibition and explore outside of the Castle walls .The architecture of the Castle is quite interesting. I was 08 June 2016.
