Donadea is an amazing park!! Beautiful nature trails. The only fault is there are no bins anywhere in the park. There is a cafe so there should be somewhere to dispose cups, also no bins in the toilets. Only for this I would've rated it five stars 🌟

Beautiful place and Coffee House, in the middle of the forest. Didn’t like few things ...doesn't have a trash bin can nearby, or maybe I haven't seen it? The only available was black coffee. I was surprised to find out, when I already had the coffee served, that I could only pay Cash, which I didn’t expect, after I paid for the parking with the card! Inside full with cardboard boxes. Despite all of that and the rain today, will be back, place is magic!

We love this place so much. The coffee place is our first stop grabbing some hot coco and start our walks through the forest.Now that everything is going back to “normal” (after c19)everyone should go in and help this lovely owner start back her business.

Very nice location. Coffee , tea, soup, scones and that sort of thing. They will even give you a furry hot water bottle for your lap if your cold. They do it up for Halloween and Christmas. Santa has been know to stop off there too. The only fault I have is the €5 entry fee, that's taking advantage.

It's OK to grab some instant coffee or hot chocolate. No card payments, which is surprising, knowing the device to accept card payments costs just 30 euro. No rubbish bin.

Beautiful place for walks, dogs, children of all ages. Bring food for ducks! The coffee shop was a wonderful surprise, they supply musical instruments, toys, sports toys for kids of all ages to play with on the green. Toilet facilities are great. Coffee isn't the best but the staff are very friendly.

I love this place but you can't really call it a Coffee House when you're selling instant coffee (and at €2.10). Feels very inauthentic to have instant coffee in such a beautiful vintage setting. my kids love the bubbles but bubbles landed in my coffee, good job as it wasn't a nice cup anyway 😁.

Lovely day spent with family, so nice to be able to meet up with people outside in the fresh air where you can socially distance and enjoy hot chocolate at the same time. Very friendly staff

We have been going there for years for a hot chocolate after a nice walk in the forest. The owner makes the place special. Always friendly. Loads of decoration for different events. Donadea would not be the same without it.

Beautifully styled cafe. Lots of thought put in a design and making it comfy. Tables for kids, water bowls for dogs. Lovely staff. Nice scenic view, however the food selection is very limited. 5 EUR for sandwiches.

We had a lovely spring walk at Donadea today and stopped at the coffee house which is so quaint and inviting. We got our tea and delicious cake from Pam who is a brilliant host. It's a perfect start or end to a walk. Donadea woods is a little piece of paradise.

Much better recently. Not sure if owners changed but place has improved. The sign above Piano is very confusing can I play or can I not?. Should invest in better coffee even Nespresso will be better than instant. Overall love the place anyways.

Always a wonderful walk with my two hero's, Tintin and Mr. Magoos. Dogs that love the forest. The cafe was closed today but stopped by for a seat and chat with another dog lover. The cafe is such a great stop in the weekends with a cosy open fire and a cupa coffee and lots of good conversation. Pam is always there with smile and welcome.

Lovely walks, great place for kids. Parking is a bit too expensive considering there doesn't appear to be a lot put back into the park e.g. all locks in female toliets broken and not well kept.

Beautiful site to buy a cup of coffee or tea. I love the lore of the place, there’s a plaque round the back of the Coffee Shop that explains that this was the very site that St Patrick stopped at, way back in the Fifth Century, when he was on his way to Tara, as Donadea was on the high road to Tara back then. It reads: “St Patrick stopped at this very site, in 455 AD, to rest while suffering from a stubbed toe. While napping here, he was awoken in the night by a strange sound. Upon investigating the sound he was confronted by a little man, commonly referred to as a leprechaun. This kindly little man offered to remove the pain in Patrick’s toe, and have him on his way, if Patrick promised him a place in Paradise. Of course, Patrick could do no such thing, unless the little man accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savour. The leprechaun however said he had nothing to be saved from, and seeing Patrick as kindly himself, he fixed his toe free of charge. Patrick, it is said, slept soundly till dawn and when he awoke he found a shamrock beside his head, which in those times was a sign of fairy presence. It was here at this very site, then, that St Patrick discovered the symbol of all Ireland, the shamrock, and it was he who first took it to be an omen of luck, especially now that his stubbed toe was mended in the presence of the plant and that he could now go on his merry way.”

Great facility to have in Donadea, they have outside seating and often light a fire during the winter. Note: If visiting Donadea by car you need €5 in change to access the car park.
