S. M.This is the most incredible place. Let me go in order of least to greatest. First of, we just came from a diamond star hotel in Philadelphia, which had excellent customer service, but once I got to the Riverside it made them seem like basic customer service. They went above and beyond in every aspect, whether it was making sure we were okay when we checked in, or making sure we were genuinely happy rather than going through the motions, or their generally upbeat happy, almost family mannered staff that make you feel at home. The rooms were excellent and is a model for energy conservation without losing any quality what so ever. On top of all this the whole hotel is next to a beautiful river and the rooms overlooking them are outstanding views. The breakfast is top quality making me not feel like I'm losing anything or being cheap by staying in for breakfast, I'd actually rather stay in, between the above average food and the incredibly nice (and accommodating) staff is just a very pleasant bonus. Even the bar they have there have live entertainment and excellent lunch as well (salmon special is amazing) with, again, amazingly accommodating hosts. You could basically live in the hotel day and night and not miss much of the outside world between breakfast, your room, a great nightlife within the hotel, and an incredible staff that make you never want to leave.
L. S.I stayed here in December a couple of years ago with family and we really enjoyed our stay.
They don't have a car park on site so keep that in mind when booking if you have a lot of luggage.
The staff were great, the place was lovely and well decorated for Christmas.
The rooms were nice and clean.
The food was lovely especially happy with the breakfast selection.
Would definitely recommend.
L. W.I stayed here for one night. It was great value for money and a great central location. The room was a good size and immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. All staff were friendly and polite. Although I didn't have breakfast, I did have dinner. The food was delicious. There was a big group of us and the staff were very attentive. Special mention to Daniel who went out of his way to help us with a birthday cake surprise for one of the group. I would stay here again any time I'm in Sligo. Only downside is the car park is very small but there is other parking nearby.

T. O.Great hotel for a good and traditional Sligo experience. The room was spacious and with a great view to the river. They also have a restaurant/pub and the food is good traditional Irish. Highly recommended for long staying.
m. S.Stayed here for two nights. The rooms were clean and a good size. The road at the front can be a little noisy. Next time we will ask for a room at the back which has lovely views overlooking the river.
Breakfasts were good as well with a good choice and friendly staff.

N. A.As the name suggests, the hotel is indeed on the river. The location is great and the hotel itself was lovely. The room was spacious and had all the amenities needed for a good night of rest and relaxation. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and any questions we had. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Sligo, this is it.

S. S.Very nice hotel with GREAT service. Breakfast was good, and location is about a 2-3 minute walk to the main streets along the riverside. Main complaint? Showers. It refused to get even barely lukewarm during my two day stay. I have to imagine this is because everyone was getting up for breakfast and HW system was overloaded but this is not a problem in larger hotels. Overall, would highly recommend. Especially if you are like my group, and can deal with a fairly cold shower for a day or two.

S. Z.The staff are great but the rooms on half the property face the parking lot. Which is the access point to the conference room. This means when they host a wedding, you're not sleeping until it ends. If that means 11pm, 12pm or whatever, you're out of luck. If you stay here, get the river view rooms or stay somewhere else.

M. G.The location to start with is great. Within a short walking distance of Sligo Town. We were met by a friendly and welcoming reception team who processed our arrival very quickly. The room was very clean and spacious with a balcony. It had all the requirements. The bed was divine. We had an evening meal that was absolutely gorgeous. Great sized portions. And finally the barman was super friendly and great fun. I will definitely be returning without hesitation. For everything it offers it is the best value on the market

The food supervisor had some issue or else a few bad days. We didnt feel comfortable in the bar to be honest. No staff members were wearing any face masks or shields. Plus the were in very close contact with people. When we arrived a member of staff at reception was chewing gum with her mouth open, not professional really. Noisy at night with doors slamming. But overall we would recommend. Oh watch out for the parking !!!!

K. L.I stayed in The Riverside last weekend and I am highly impressed. The check-in staff were so polite and accommodating on both check-in and check-out. The room was very clean, spacious and had a gorgeous view of the river. The staff in the bar were also very lovely. We had breakfast the next morning and the food was delicious, I asked for the chefs name working at the time and Pascal and Basil were the names I received. They are definitely a credit to this hotel and the overall stay was thoroughly enjoyable. I will definitely be returning again.
D. F.Strange times in hotel during covid-19 but I have to say my stay was great, beds super comfortable, shower in the bathroom was fantastic, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Limited bar food but a variety to suit all tastes will be back to try the rest. 😉😉😉

Modest in terms of pricing, very relaxed environment. The only issue I had was lack of parking spaces. But there was plenty of on street parking.

D. L.Excellent service and Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Bed was large enough for the whole family to sleep in. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast all year. The evening meal was also fabulous compliments to the chef.. The only down point was the lack of parking but they do have use of a carpark 100yards down the road. I would suggest that if you require any evening meal you book your table well in advance as they're really busy and with social distancing tables are limited but they have a great system in place. N. R.Was working nights in Bundoran last week and from arrival on Tuesday morning I can find no fault with the hotel . Staff at the front desk , Breakfast room and bar for dinner in the evening couldn't have done more for us and the food in both was delicious and plentiful. Rooms were top class , Big comfortable bed and ensuite with a great view and most important when working nights it was quiet . When working in the area again I will definitely be looking to stay there !!
L. M.The two men at the front desk were extremely professional, welcoming and accommodating. No ask was too big or too small. The room with the view of the river was gorgeous with a huge bed. I've seen the garavogue many times but the view really impressed. Extremely clean with all covid procedures in place and parking is right outside the door. I was at this hotel a few years ago and I had a poor experience. However, I can now say that I would absolutely recommend this hotel and the staff that run it. Well done men at reception you turned a poor review into 5 star. Definite Improvement.

A. M.The location of this hotel is what makes it stand out. The rooms and restaurant are clean and comfortable, breakfast was good. But a room with a river view was lovely and a ten minute stroll up river takes you to a magnificent lough with fabulous backdrop. Down river there are numerous bars and restaurants all within minutes of the hotel, without the noise at night. It's very peaceful and right on the doorstep of nightlife, beautiful walks and loads of historic sites. Loved my three nights here and will definitely be back.

N. G.5 Gold Stars for this lovely place on the beautiful Garavogue river in Sligo town, and I haven't even gone through the door!
I had booked 2 nights through a 3rd party site, then a family emergency and Covid intervened and I couldn't go. 3rd party site rules meant that my booking had to go through and be paid for....
Then Arthur, front of house, and the guys handling bookings came back to me with a voucher for the full amount, to be redeemed at my leisure, when they heard my predicament. This need not have been done, on a last minute "no show" but I have a longterm voucher to use on a meal, a room...whatever I choose.
The human touch in trying times, and everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you all, I'll get back to Sligo asap, looking forward to it.

S. W.Great Hotel in the heart of Sligo, stayed for two nights between Christmas and New year. The room was perfect, nice, clean and comfortable. The food was good with plenty of options and the pub was well stocked and feels like your local, warm and welcoming.

A. G.Me and my husband spent a weekend here, the location was fabulous and right on the river and a 2 minute walk from town centre. Beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast was delicious everything was cooked to perfection and I was particularly impressed by the breakfast chef who came out and offered to make me a poached egg if I wanted one. I also seen him speaking to other guests, I found this personal touch very welcoming and not something you often encounter these days.

Unfortunately the hotel was very noisy when I stayed with other guests making lots of noise in the corridors and playing loud music in the rooms. Good breakfast but the dinner was not good, overcooked chicken and sauce that tasted like it had been sitting for days. Great location if going out and about in the city, recommended for one night stay if you don't want to eat there and are not planning on getting a lot of sleep.

N.This is my 5th time to stay here. I love it from location to the experience. Walking distance from town.Fantastic staff, lovely clean, comfortable modern rooms. Very affordable. Call them for special deals, and make sure you book a room with a River view. The bar is just lovely and nicely decorated for Christmas.

Just a note to the hotel itself, hash browns, soya or dairy free butter for breakfast would be nice...I e mailed in advance re vegan dinner and they were very accommodating, just bring it a step further and incorporate breakfast.

Sligo is a lovely town and this seems like a great place to meet up. The music was fun. Nice places to sit outside on the river if weather permits.

Lovely river views from our room. The door of hotel leads you onto a river walk or option to cycle. Bike rental in hotel. Room and bathroom was comfortable and so fresh and clean. Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner one night. Great options on the menu. We were well satisfied with quality and certainly the price ! Staff are friendly and helpful many of whom are young local staff. The Riverside Hotel will be our spot for all further visits to Sligo.

J. M.One of Sligo's best kept secrets. A very good three star hotel. Good dining facilities. The only drawback is the small car park. There is an arrangement with Sligo County Council for the use of their overflow car park (c300m).
There are also electric car charging points (2) adjacent to the hotel, approx. 150m away from the front door.

L.Nice place with friendly staff. The surroundings are good. Some areas could use some updating but I had no complaints about the cleanliness and order of things. It is a good stop over for a night or two to explore the area. They were happy to offer some local information as to the best places to visit. Happy to recommend it.

M. W.Great hotel located in walking distance of the main town of Sligo. Rooms have the basic requirements tea / coffee , towels but no housecoats , irons or room safes.
Parking is very limited at the hotel but there's plenty of free parking only 100 yards up the road on your left
Most rooms looking onto to main street have balconies which is a extra bonus, would imagine that the rooms to the rear looking onto the water would have them aswell.
Hotel has two lifts and a nice airy feel staircase leading to all floors which are clearly marked so don't worry about getting lost in a maze of corridors.
Nice choice of draft beer and spirits at the bar and the menu would covered most people's taste buds .
The staff are amazing from housekeeping to bar / kitchens and the reception team , guaranteed you will receive a warm welcome from these guys.
M. E. M.Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location, right on the banks of the Garavogue river. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Very helpful and pleasant staff. The hotel has a gym with some treadmills and exercise bikes. The front desk can also help organize bike rental. There is a restaurant and bar. An ample and very tasty breakfast is included in the B&B rate. Parking is limited but there is another large parking lot a short distance up the street.
H. M.Stayed along with my wife for 2 nights during the Fleadh in Sligo this week. The location of this hotel is excellent as it is very close to town center but still located in quite area along by the river. The hotel has access to both sides of the river due to walk over bridge located at the hotel. The standard of the rooms were excellent and the service was top class due to willingness to help and assist with any queries that we had. I would would give this hotel 10 out of 10.

The room was very comfortable and clean. I would recommend staying here to anyone who is visiting Sligo. The only issue I would have is the parking. It is very limited at the hotel but they provided parking up the street but it's only a small thing.

S. C.We recently had our daughters Christening in the function room . We had an amazing day . They had the room decorated beautifully with six large round tables with white tablecloths . The chairs were draped with white covers and purple ribbons which was perfect for the occasion . There was soft pink LED lighting all around the ceiling which was very nice. We decided to go for a buffet for the food and the Hotel done a delicious chicken curry and Beef Stroganoff. There was plenty to go around as well as thick homemade chips and Baked Potatoes . The room has its own private bar which is very handy . All the kids were sat at one table and they all got homemade Goujons and chips . There was a large projector close to their table and we were able to put on a movie for them which was great . The barman Darragh was superb and nobody wanted for anything throughout the day with table service . I would highly recommend the Riverside for any type of occasion . Thanks to all the staff for making the day so special .

I was treated to a wonderful Halibut with a sauce vierge which i must say was cooked to perfection. 5 ***** from me cant strongly recommend enough.

A. R. M.If you're visiting Sligo town the Riverside is in a perfect location for exploring the town and local tourist sites. Rooms are really well equipped and the food is excellent. The star of the show is the Mill Bar which has a cosy traditional feel and great beer.

G.For anyone wanting an away weekend trip to lovely Sligo,you can't go wrong with staying at the riverside hotel.Set on the very edge of Sligo town it's only a 5 minute walk to the town centre, or exit the hotel stage left and stroll up the back avenue along doorley park taking in the wonderful garavogue river leading up to the wonderful Lough gill lake where W B Yeats was inspired to write some of his most famous poetry like " the lake isle of innisfree".it's a must visit for anyone or couples leading a stressful life just to see the wonderful views from there bedrooms as the garavogue river flows under the hotel or even better still look and listen while the gush and noise from fast flowing river passes by as your are having breakfast. Better still even watch the local legend fisherman "Basil" fish for Salmon just as you eat your breakfast, it's amazing to watch as he actually catches some. Trust me on this one as I've stayed there loads of times, John and his team will definitely look after ye.
