We had a wonderful time in Hunters Hotel. A great welcome and the Staff couldn't do enough for us. We really enjoyed the log fires. The food is excellent and the wine superb. The gardens are beautiful. Impressive evergreen trees.

We were very well looked after, from our arrival about 4pm on Thursday for our one night stay to leaving on Friday about 11am. Our room was large, bathroom too and the queen size bed was very comfortable. Dinner was melt in the mouth lamb ! Service at the bar, dinner table and for breakfast was superb, thank you for a very relaxing atmosphere. The gardens and gardener are very welcoming and informative. All the above are why we gave a 5 star rating.

We had a lovely Afternoon Coffee and Scones there on Sunday last. The service was lovely and the environment very festive.
Lovely setting
Thank you.

This jewel has avoided the pitfall of revamping, branding or any other unnecessary nonsense. The floorboards creek, the surfaces are a bit uneven. Some of the furniture and artwork are off trend. Exactly as a you would hope it to be. Not self conscious enough to be a museum and still alive with the same spirit that it must have had in the 1800s it is timeless.
The afternoon tea is excellent and good value at 50 euro. Again not much of a nod to the 21st century-the sandwiches are old fashioned and all the better for it. The vegetable garden is worth an entrance fee on its own.
Like a good antique it has been repaired, polished and cared for without losing its essence and utility. There can't be many places left like this.

We stopped for coffee with two friends here and it was so nice, we considered it for a couple of days stay. However, when we enquired about prices, we realised that it is the ultimate case of, if you need to ask the price, you can't afford it! So the place is sweet, old fashioned and furnished with antiques. The garden is gorgeous and I'm sure the food is excellent. But to us, ordinary pensioners, the prices are ludicrous!

Afternoon tea (coffee) and scones are excellent. Friendly and personable staff. All together a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

This hotel is full of old world charm, lovely gardens, both ornamental & functional, with produce used in the hotel kitchen. Had a very relaxing stay including a fabulous dinner, first class service & food

5 of us went for an afternoon tea in the summer. Staff, service & setting absolutely top notch. Highly recommend for any lunch/dinner event. Could not fault a thing.

I attended a summer wedding here - it was fantastic from beginning to end. The staff, the food, the rooms were all great. Easy 5 stars.

Absolutely terrific. Feels like "Room with a View" Takes you back in time with bedrooms and views to die for. The gardens are stunning. Dinner was fantastic and staff lovely Thank you Margaret and all. ♡♡

Love this wonderful old hotel.. something very special here.. I love their garden.. a walk outside after lunch is a must!

Love going here for dinner or afternoon tea.
Lovely atmosphere, lots of character.
Service was slow due to the fact that they were extremely busy. However, we were kept informed by the staff and coffee etc arrived when they said it would.
Will be back!!

We had lunch today for my aunts 90th birthday. Hunters is such a perfect spot for such an occasion!! With its "ye old worldly" charm. The staff and food were excellent adhering to all the new "sd" rules. Delaying over birthday cake which they dont provide but have no problem with you bringing they moved us to the living room with fresh pot of coffee. All was fabulous. Helen
M. H.
We had a lovely and memorable stay here. Brilliant staff and fantastic food and ambience. Old fashioned but in a way that makes its character shine and lovely gardens. Will be back soon.

We were her for a family get together. The place is lovely, old world style. Service was slow but adequate. The people were very helpful and nice. Food is very classic. Duck, fish, lamb and fish. The gravy on the lamb didn't taste of lamb and spoiled the dinner. Gluten free options available.

Another wonderful stay at Hunter's House for our annual family gathering there...we just adore this place.
Lovely, old worldly & gracious -we find ourselves transported back to a gentler time where we're cosseted with really wonderful food in relaxing, homely surroundings. The gardens are a delight, and the staff always kind and helpful.
About an hour's drive from Dublin , it's set in beautiful countryside & near a small river, but it's close to town if you want to shop and well situated for the coast & nearby to Brittas Bay.
Love it, love it, love it!

A unique and wonderful oasis of old world charm and serenity in an increasingly mechanised, high tech saturated world! A warm welcome and delicious food, beautifully served in authentic and elegant surroundings. Makes one nostalgic for a world long passed but which has thankfully been retained in this gem of a place. The fragrant gardens are also a delight.

Excellent local fresh ingredients.. I wd imagine! Had a great dinner spread with the most succulent king prawns as a starter, perfectly cooked duck for the main & chocolate desert with cinnamon and caramel! Simple Irish cooking at its best (I also imagine it to be) I would come here again and again if I come back to this area.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The atmosphere at Hunter's is very comfortable. We had windy and cold weather on our stay and the staff had the fireplace in our room lit each night, and a hot water bottle in our bed. The food was as impressive.
The surrounding area and garden is also worth a visit. And it is a short drive to the coast and a big beach.

Great food & service in a beautiful & serene location!

Thanks Hunters Hotel for a fab stay including Sunday lunch and evening meals. Great conference meeting room and a place to stay and do business away from city noise. A truly magical place with excellent service and a good pint of Guinness and beautiful organic gardens to chill out in.

Came for Sunday Lunch to this wonderful 18th Century Hotel, which still holds the atmosphere and of it's time. Almost a step back in time. I would highly recommend a visit even to walk through its beautiful gardens.
M. H.
Absolutely lovely afternoon tea served in a beautiful garden!
B. B. S.
It’s absolutely one of its kind! Older generations love it! I would recommend Sunday dinner! Book in advance. And visit gardens, small but gorgeous!
S. M.
Always love coming to Hunters, excellent food, excellent drinks and excellent service. If you are lucky enough to get the weather, sitting in the garden is divine. I recommend either the wicklow lamb, or the duck l'orange. Both delicious.
J. L.
Lovely cosy place for afternoon tea, a drink, lunch or dinner. Super friendly staff. Beware though - you may not want to leave once you get settled in
....
R. L.
As always, a lovely meal. One of us raved over the hake with shiitake cream. The beef was perfectly cooked to order. The wonderful ambiance - house and garden both - just completed the experience!
S. K.
Beautiful tea and scones in tranquil garden setting.

Had another wonderful experience in Hunters Hotel today. Lunch was superb ,,,, so tasty and served by very friendly staff. A walk and a chance to relax in the garden after lunch made for a very special afternoon. Highly recommend it!
P. N.
Wonderful old fashioned charm, excellent friendly service. A delicious time warp, wonderful for afternoon tea or a drink in the charming, cosy bar. Plain but good old fashioned cooking in the restaurant.

Hunter's Lodge is a step back in time with all the luxury included. Our room for 2 nights was rustic, comfortable with a fire place to boot. Food and wine was wonderful and our hosts courteous. Would strongly recommend a visit and stay.
N. B.
Always a pleasure to return. Charming, clean and civilised. It has that feeling you get as a child when visiting a happy, comfortably rich and generous Aunt and Uncle. The kindness and quiet reverence with which they welcome you.
Both Tom and Richard Gelletlie and their families have kept and maintained the hotel and gardens so well and I look forward to visiting again and again.
D. C.
It's expensive, it's true. But if you are looking for a getaway far from the madness of the city and just want to relax, enjoy the nature come here! The food - to be honest - was not that great. Nothing very wrong but for the price you pay you'd expect something better (the table of cheese for instance was quite disappointing).
J. A.
An absolutely lovely hotel. Lovely staff . Just had scrumptious afternoon tea. Including catering for 2 friends with Coeliac disease and their tea was as delicious !
K. F.
Absolutely love this place! We have just checked out for our second stay in Hunters and we will most definitely be back again and again. The service is fantastic everyone is so lovely, the hotel is full to the brim of character and the food........beautiful!

My husband and I were recommended to the Hunter's Hotel by a friend who hails from Dublin and couldn't say enough good things about the inn and particularly their dining. Although we were passing through and between lunch and dinner, they were able to accommodate us for a lovely afternoon tea. We very much enjoyed chatting with the owner, who described how the Hotel has been operated by his family for generations. He also provided us many wonderful recommendations for our trip. Upon returning to the states, I realized I had left my cosmetics bag behind and eventually tracked it to the Hunter's Hotel. Ms. Thompson and the staff jumped through extraordinary hoops to get it back to me safely (apparently make-up is a "hazardous substance" and numerous shipping companies refused to deliver same). I am so appreciative of their assistance as they truly went above and beyond. We so look forward to staying here the next time we are in the beautiful Emerald Isle.
J. P.
Very pleasant, old world charming place. High quality food well prepared and presented. Staff are personable and friendly and efficient. Highly recommend giving it a try.

My great Grandfather, my Father and now his grand sons have all enjoyed the wonderful Hunters Hotel. As a family we have been having Sunday lunch for over 95 years. Thank to all the staff and chiefs
H. S.
I'm very lucky that I only life 10 minutes away from Hunter's hotel if you like the old style surrounding think miss Marple and that's hunter's hotel the food is fantastic I love salt but I've never once had to season any dish and that says I lot for me I would highly recommend that everyone should at least try it once believe me you will go back staff are also lovely I might also add I certainly would recommend that you have a light snack at home because you certainly won't be able for lunch or dinner if you have anything heavy to eat
s. p.
Had lunch in the restaurant , nice food but also "nice" prices , seat's were very uncomfortable . Staff were excellent . lovely old world feel from it. would make a return visit.
