A. H.Really enjoyed heading back to this restaurant. I have been to the restaurants in Limerick and now Cork. Food is just yummy and delicious. Menu caters for all. Pizzas Popcorn chicken using breadt chunks (i took some on my son who wasnt happy with me 🤣) i got the half roast rotisserie chicken w stuffing gravy and the fries with gravy (mash if you wish)and it was so juicy. My wife an mother in Law had the cesar salad w chicken and the superfood salad. Both were tasty and loads in each. Can be seen in first pic. Staff were very helpful, friendly and service was quick. My only issue was that there was a speaker in the corner above us and due to glass panels placed between tables the sound couldn't escape so it was very loud. I will be back

J. L.Went on a sat night at 8 pm peak time! Place was absolutely packed so I recommend a reservation if you dont want a wait. But if you just pop in I love the fact that upstairs they have a bar where you can wait till a table becomes available. Decor is funky and the staff are young and super helpful. We ordered drinks first and the cocktail came straight away even though it was packed. It was a proper cocktail too with fresh fruit. Food was served quickly and it was amazing. The coq wings are a must if you visit and the chicken burger was beyond tasty. I will 100% be returning can't recommend the place enough!
J. O. R.This was one of our ultimate go to restaurants . Sadly yesterday was extremely average. The serving staff kept coming over asking was everything OK. Even at one point before we took one bite from the starter's. The food is average certainly not as gorgeous as all the years before. It was before dinner time so it's not like they were under pressure. Changed my rating from 5 star to average. The restaurant still has a great atmosphere 😊

o. s.I was really disappointed with my visit to the CoqBull. From the reviews and what I read I was expecting great food and a fantastic experience but the food was a real let down.
I ordered two starters, the pork belly bbq ribs, the nachos with fries and chicken gravy on the side. My girlfriend got the chicken fajitas. Everything looked great and was presented well, apart from ribs. But when it came it the taste, the rolls were reversed. This ribs ended up being the tastiest dish and the nachos and fajitas weren’t up to scratch. The chips tasted like they were reheated and the gravy was just bland.
The nachos were just a bit strange as I was expecting conventional tortilla chips with shredded beef and the works, but it was made up of taco shells cut in half to act as the chips, which was just strange and the texture of them just didn’t work. The shredded beef, salsa and cheese were all one big mix together in the serving pot and it was just tasteless.
The ribs were delicious and tender, but perhaps too much bbq sauce as they were doused in it.
The fajitas again looked fantastic but we weren’t given nearly enough tortilla wraps and chicken mixture was something you would have made better with an El Paso Fajita kit at home honestly.
Overall the food was very poor and easily my worst meal experience in Cork this weekend. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2 is because the staff were so friendly and accommodating, other than that it was a terrible experience.

A. K.Don’t get me wrong, my burger was lovely. But myself and my partner both got the cookies for dessert and felt disappointed that they weren’t even heated, neither was the caramel sauce. To be blunt about it, we could have both got cookies, ice cream and caramel sauce of the same standard in Tesco and then heated them up. It really wasn’t worth €6.50 each. Our waitress did not ask how our desserts were when clearing the table or how everything was upon payment. Having previously worked in hospitality I believe final impressions are important as it’s what the customer will remember. I feel that the second half of the meal has overshadowed the first half.
S.Can't complain about anything! Staff are brilliant, very kind and hard-working. Even when it was busy, I wasn't waiting too long to be seated, the food came quick and was brilliant as always. The burgers are phenomenal!

E. O.Was quite disappointed with the service on dining there last night. Booked a table for three a week in advance and through email. Asked if 8pm on the 27th was free and Dave, who I was in contact with through email replied back saying that 7pm or 7.30pm was free and would he book me in for 7.30pm. Replied and told him that 7.30pm would be great.
Last night my friend arrived at around 25 past 7 and was told that there was no booking under my name. She was treated quite rudely and was kept being asked who made the booking. My other friend and I then arrived at half 7 and again were treated quite rudely. They were very accusatory and very brash. I told them I had an email about the booking and the man who was dealing with (didn't get his name) literally leant over my shoulder looking into my phone while I was trying to pull up the email. Showed him the email stating it was the 27th at half 7. And he said 'Its grand I've just pushed two tables together upstairs for you'. There was no apology given when I showed the emails or anything.
I understand that it was busy and they might have felt under pressure but we had made a booking in advance and I had proof of the booking. Yet we were made to feel like an inconvience and that we were the ones who had made a mistake.
I usually don't have any issues at all when I dine here, and the food and drinks were lovely and we enjoyed them but it was just disappointing to start the evening on such a bad note.

I can't stress enough how good this place is. There is something for everyone and the atmosphere is always lit.
The staff and manager are always there to meet you with a smile. Friendly and helpful, every vistor is made feel special.
All in all, amazing food, great atmosphere and attentive friendly staff. I will see ye again soon guys.

She recommended that we tried the chorizo fries alongside our mains, and we were not disappointed. I had the Blue Bull burger which was very tasty, my friends had the chicken fajitas and pepperoni pizza which they also enjoyed. The special dessert of the day were malt waffles with white chocolate and raspberry, and I hope these become a regular because they were so delicious! Looking forward to eating here again soon!

There was some confusion with our starters and we ended up waiting a long time to get them, after we mentioned it to the staff they explained the issue, profusely apologised and removed the cost of the starters from the bill as well as gave us an extra side with our meal for free.

S. F.Went there today, my partner said the bacon bull was only okay and the MoqBull was inedible. The texture and taste were very bad, left it behind me. The waiter noticed I hadn’t eaten the burger and asked what was the issue and was not charged for it on the bill. So overall the food was mediocre but the service was great. Would recommend for the vegan burgers to use fake meats instead of plant based burgers as they taste much better.

Would recommend wiping down tables after each customer. Observed two tables leaving and only the plates etc being picked up. No wipe down which is common practice especially now.
B. P.I happened to see this place as I was getting lost in Cork. I'd love to see the faces of people if a restaurant with this name popped up in the states. Haha. Anyways, I was greeted immediately by a friendly waitress, and was sat about 2 minutes later. The restaurant had a young vibe to it. They specialize in chicken and beef, hence the name. I ordered a halloumi fritters and one of the chicken sandwiches. The food was fresh and tasted great. The staff were also exceptional. The only reason for the 4 star review was because of the smell of dirty dish rag throughout the restaurant. Maybe this was just for tonight, maybe not. If you can get past that, give this place a whirl.

The vegan burger fell apart immediately. Wasn’t worth 14.50.
And garlic bread was burnt. And we weren’t served water at all even when we asked

We arrived at peak time on a Saturday to a very busy restaurant. We were told there would be a wait of around 10min (we were walk ins) and we could wait upstairs in a bar / waiting area. We did this and had a drink. My wife's coke was warm was the only point here.
After about 10-15min we were called and seated.

I also got the taco fries which were not your classic taco fries but were very nice indeed.
The burgers were really tasty and not too big either.
The staff were pleasant throughout and the bill reasonable. Will go back.

D.Great burgers, fantastic service. Coqbull is right downtown and a welcome shelter from the cold. Bacon bull was juicy and cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Staff was amazing and the ambiance was warm and well suited. Not sure what the little bowl of flaky salt was for, but it was great with the fries.

C. Ó. C.The Carbonara and eton mess I ordered were some of the best I've ever tasted. The interior is stylish and clean, the staff are very polite and organised and the prices are reasonable. Perfect place for date night or family dinner. The staff even overheard it was my birthday and placed a candle in my dessert without us requesting it. The small gesture absolutely made my day. It's definitely my new go to place for grub next time I plan on spending some time in the city.

I live in Texas and can get some really fabulous fried chicken. I ordered fried chicken and hands down it was some of the best I've had. People were super friendly and welcoming too. I visited here for lunch recently and I was happy to see that the burgers have two options for coeliacs craving a burger with GF buns and the option of going bunless. Make sure to inform the server if you're ordering a marinaded burger as a few contain gluten, but the GF wings etc, are clearly shown on the menu.
The salads are all GF and from previous experience are also lovely. The portion sizes are perfect but I will warn you that it can be a bit salty. The price is good considering the portion size!
I've had a few cocktails here in the past as well, which have been fab.

Espresso Martini was fantastic and the starter ribs melt in your mouth. They’re fatty but they absolutely disintegrate in your mouth, even after they’ve cooled.

When we finally did get someone he obviously misheard us and brought down the bill instead, so we just paid and got dessert elsewhere.

A. C.Ok, it was a cold wet November afternoon, we walked in and we were welcomed by the warmth of the restaurant; both in temperature and friendliness!
The decor, oh my, I just love it. Distressed wood, exposed brick, sheet metal and industrial lighting, muted grays, popping reds and cool wall art. It is so cool.
The waitress was very nice, immediately engaging the kids in friendly chat about the toys they'd with them and was very quick to bring out kids menus, and crayons.
The menu is great. Burgers, fajitas, pizzas, topped fries, and milkshakes. My husband had the bacon burger. I don't usually like burgers but I could've polished it off myself. Dab of ketchup made it one of the best burgers I've ever had.
I ordered boneless pork belly BBQ ribs, delicious, but so strong, I was glad to break up the flavour with chips.
I also had chicken Fajitas. These came out in a tower with sizzling platter at the bottom, a pot with two large tortillas and the top layer had lots of different bits to go with it, guacamole, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa, and cheese. The fajitas were too spicy for me. But I am a wimp with spicy food. My husband had one and liked it, but siad the heat did persist a while after eating! Though, I am sure, if I had thought to ask, they could make a milder version of the dish. The kids had pasta (penne quills that looked to be handmade!), sausages and chips.
To finish the kids had cookie and ice cream. The chocolate chip cookie was quite hard so I would call it a biscuit, not a cookie. Cookies are meant to be soft and chewy. I had sticky toffee pudding and husband had hazelnut brownie. Both were delicious. Though could have done with a bit more ice cream to balance with the rich flavoursome desserts.
And finally, the music!!!!! 80s classics. We were bopping along all throughout the meal.
Notes:
The toilets are signposted as "Sit and Stand" and consist of 3 unisex stalls and a shared wash basin.
There are a few steps in the venue, I didn't see any disabled toilet or baby changing station but there may be some elsewhere, separate from the main toilets.
