Really nice decoration. The menu isn't complicated, and it's nice to have simple options. The only negative is the service - our waiter was always looking at his phone, which isn't great when you need to get the bill sorted quickly.

A burger place that serves the core essentials.....burgers, cheeseburgers, fries and shakes. Nothing wrong with a limited menu as long as they do it well.
Did they succeed in doing this? Let's see...The place definitely gets busy but the burgers were ok. It was decent and wasn't bad but nothing too memorable either. I liked that the patty was thick. I also ordered the sweet potato fries. It was ok as well. It was slightly soggy and could have been crispier.
The prices of fries are on the higher end (4.95 euros for sweet potato fries???). I am shocked considering Ireland is known for potatoes.
Would I come back? Maybe.

What a great place for juicy and delicious burgers! Upon getting to the place, I realized how popular it is. The place was packed and rightfully so. The menu surprised me as it is a small card, the size of a business card, not what you'd typically expect. This tells you that they offer one thing and one thing only - burgers. When a restaurant offers/specialises in one meal, it means that you'll get value for your money because they focus all their energy on perfecting that one meal. I can truly say this about Bunsen burgers. I ordered the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and thoroughly enjoy it! The waitress was friendly and asked us how we'd like our burgers cooked. The table comes with water, nice touch as hydration is key ;). Overall, I highly recommend this place if you love burgers.

It's an OK hamburger joint. It is similar to Five Guys but I find Five Guys taste better (juicier and beefier in taste) and priced much lower. Bunsen however served its burgers slightly bigger than Five Guys and with more oil.
I'm an American from New Jersey New York Area so Im very familiar with burgers.
The hip and hype adds to the vibe but should not be a testament to the culinary taste of the food sold here.
The fries are served too well done (over cooked).
The staff is nice, polite and accomodating to its guests.
M. A.
Really good burgers.
Definitely recommend their strong fries too. Good stuff, coming again
E. F.
An average burger joint producing a burger roughly on par with Five Guys. The fries however were nothing special. Everything was lacking in flavour. However the restaurant and washrooms were clean and the service was prompt. Not worth the price. I probably wouldn’t eat here again.
T. N.
Great burgers! Tiny menu, either hamburger with or without cheese, and single or double patty. Thats it. But the burgers are on point! You also get to choose how you like your patty cooked, pink inside or well done etc
They forgot to give me my drink, and they still tried to charge me for it lol thats the only reason why i didn't give them 5stars lol
D. J.
Lovey burgers. You can’t top Bunsen in Dublin
G. F.
Absolutely loved it. I had an amazing burger and being from the states, I was in desperate need after spending 5 months in Belgium! Will 100% visit again next time in Dublin. Great quality. Quick service.
A. M.
I have lived in Europe for over a year know and I believe this is the best burger I have eaten in by a long shot. The burgers are well priced and have a variety of toppings you can put on them. Another great thing is that they have three different types of fries to choose from all of which cost the same amount. The service was also very good and our food came out really fast. My only knock on the place though is that they don’t have a lot of room for big groups.
M. B.
Great burger with quality meat. Nice music.
Simple menu, as good burger place should be.
Bringing tap water to the table straight away is a nice touch.
L. F.
Just two options of burger, but trust me, there is nothing else you need. Well balanced, soft but solid bun. Crispy french fries, both sweet and normal were delicious. They pack the burger in a paper even when eating in, which for me is unnecessary waste. Overall one of the best burger i had.
P. J.
Great hamburgers and horrible fries.
If you're into burgers then you will love it. So far didn't find any better place.
Fries on the other hand are hit and miss at best. Twice had horrible fries but my friends claim that sometimes they are good.
N. S.
The menu is very limited but the burgers are good. Shakes and sweet potato chips were quite nice.
B. B. P.
This place actually cooks their medium burgers MEDIUM! Hands down the best burger place I’ve been to, and that’s saying a lot! I love that they don’t try to use toppings as a crutch - they just focus on the quality and taste of the meat (like a steak). Shake was nothing memorable but nothing bad. I recommend single cheeseburger with shoestring fries. Sweet potato fries were also very very good!
A. T.
Can't bate a good Bunsen burger, no different here compared to the other branches. Staff weren't particularly friendly but they weren't bad either.
D. U.
Amazing burgers, I absolutely love this place. Also like that they have gluten free choices for the buns. Definitely suggest to stop by and eat the burger of your dreams 😀
S. D.
Easily one of the best burgers through my European travels. Their menu, that fits on a business card no less, is amazingly easy. This simplicity allows for them to dish out quality products. The burger was perfect - without over complicating the meat (which I appreciate). The sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp. Lastly, the staff was attentive and efficient. Would recommend to locals or anyone traveling through Dublin.
Y. R.
I asked for medium, but the burger was closer to medium-well. Still quite juicy despite that, and otherwise executed very well. I think this is the rare case where I would have liked the menu to have just a bit more variety.
A. J.
Best burger I've ever had! This place specializes in one thing which is why their menu is the size of a business card. If you want a cooked to perfection juicy burger and tasty fries come here.
L. F.
I was told this was the best burgers in town so I went in with high expectations. I wasn't disappointed in the least. A combination of simplicity and flavor provided me one of the best burger eating experiences I've had in at least a year. Highly recommend.
N. W. X.
Delicious burger and amazing sweet potato fries. Very small menu but when it's so good, I wouldn't mind. Service was great too, highly recommended!
E. F.
Best burger of my life, I swear. I will ho back yo dublin just to have another one. Staff very nice.
R. T.
Warm atmosphere. Nice music. And VERY good burgers. It’s very simple there’s only fries and burger/cheeseburger but the quality is definitely here!
N. N.
Really great burger place! Simple menu that executes the essential things really well: burgers, fries and shakes
C. T.
Be careful, because once you've had a Bunsen burger you will never look at any other burger again. There's always a bit of a wait for a table, but they take your number and text you when the table is ready. Service is quick, so it's ideal for a quick feed before a gig, match, movies etc. Music can be loud and it's not a place you'd hang out at for long after you're done inhaling your burger. The menu is very simple - ham or cheeseburger, single or double and three choices of fries, but they do it so incredibly well.
J. L.
Burgers and chips are the only things on the menu. Served American style. Its ok but nothing special. The chips are shoe string and although there are lots of them they're only alright, they tasted quite salty. Service was fast and friendly.
S. M.
Always reliable food. Good portions and well made
F. J.
The burgers in Bunsen are unparalleled! I think there is a secret behind it! The cheese burger is very delicious maybe because it's Irish meat? After all, Bunsen is by far my favorite Burger restaurant in Dublin. Love it!
M. W.
If you want a great burger this is a place for you... place is clean, staff is fantastic and the burgers are great... juicy cooked to medium perfection you will be talking about this burger for days after you finish. I love the idea of menu on the business card...
C. R.
Delicious and good value. They have beer in cans and wine
C. J.
Beautiful amazing burgers the beef was such good quality , the best burgers I have ever eaten the sweet potato fries delicious . Great place so friendly , they get it 100% right every time .
S. C.
People in Dublin will tell you that we've the best everything. Pints, pubs, stories. You know yourself. For the mostpart they're talking through their hat. But if they tell you that Bunsen is he best burger you'll ever have, they're right.
Mudderehjaysis this thing is good. Seriously, dangerously, mouth wateringingly, groin grabbingly good. Its like being slapped by God or getting a high five from Phil Lynnott. Beautiful and rare.
Chips are grand too. I mean, it like asking if the frame is any use on the Mona Lisa. Grand, like. But its all about the main event.
M. O.
Best burgers in Dublin, there's no question. Staff are always lovely too
S. L.
Definitely the best burger I’ve ever had. Even though I have been back to Hong Kong I still miss there. The staffs were so nice and the medium burger was juicy and fresh.
V. F.
Great burgers and fries. Both pick-up and delivery are super smooth and quick.
M. L.
Simple, very small menu, but great burger! My husband's favourite. Nice waiting system, which is good, because sometimes it can get really full. Nice place, quite fast. No complaints.
D. S.
Fresh off the plane and definitely fresh off the grill! Bunsen was a great place to fill the empty spot left by elcheapo plane trip.
J. K.
Small and basic burger joint with delicious burgers, just the way I like them. A perfect combination of quality meat, simple toppings and a soft bun. Get some fries and you’re golden.
G. K.
Oh my God. Why did I only find out about this place. Me and my little bro Richie ate here last Saturday night. Good Jesus it's amazing. Great prices and wonderful staff. I recommend them to do a lamb burgers it would be freakin sweet. Get your burger fix here. I love this place. Well done guys. Your sweet potato fries are the best I have had in Dublin.
B. C.
Great burger, but the chips where a bit of a let down, very average. Not particularly good sauce selection either.
N. J.
The burger was great! The hand cut chips leave something to be desired. Not bad. Just nothing special.
G. v. S.
The burger was quite greasy but the taste was really good, not much choice but there's no need for that
G. A.
Simply the best burger I've ever had! Incredibly delicious.
C. M.
Nicest burger I've ever had
B. O.
A little cramped, tables are very close together, but the burgers and fries are good 👍
R. F.
Great fries!!
Good Burgers!!!! The meet and the bun
L. _.
Didn't expect to find a heavenly tasting burger here in Dublin, but god the reviews are true.. Delicious and for a good price!
P. T.
Awesome burger, plain and simple. Chips were good, too. Friendly service, a lot of seating.
D. P.
The best burgers and fries in Ireland and among the best I've had anywhere in the world. This is their first location in Wexford Street and the quality has been consist there since day one. The only other location that I have tried was in Cork and the fries were terrible. Maybe they had an off day, but the original spot in Wexford Street has never let me down.
T. K.
This is a great place to eat if all you want is a burger and fries! The menu is small and simple. The food tastes wonderful. The service was great, very friendly.
A. V.
Great place for a nice juicy burger. I like they offer how much you’d like it to be cooked as I like mine medium rare. Not the best place if you’re on a diet but it’s delicious and quite a big burger if you go for double. Fries are good too, they offer skinny, sweet potato and normal fries.
G. S.
amazing food for a fair price, nice restaurant and friendly waiters :-)
L. S.
Really good burgers and chips. The cheeseburgers, hamburgers and sweet potato fries were all delicious.
N. M.
One of the best burgers I've had in a while! Would definitely recommend!
P. R.
It's true - they make great burgers (I'm not much into burgers and I think I'm rather picky). The fries were exceptional too (crispy to the end, real and tasty).
I like the exterior and interior minimalistic, modern design corresponding with the simple 2 item menu.
The service is fast, friendly and professional.
The only downside was that the music, however very good, was a bit too loud.
P. M. V.
Great place for Burgers, not much of an option but they are lovely
F. Y.
First of all, the best burger I've ever had! Sadly, the staff was inflexible and unfriendly...
J. C.
Gorgeous simplistic burger and chips, staff were very polite. Got in straight away because I went when it had just opened but when I was leaving I did notice there was a queue almost out of the door. A bit squashed too but nothing to worry about
A. v. L.
Amazing burgers and perfectly crisp fries! Loved it:)
m. a.
The burgers are definitely good , love the short cut fries ( yumm and crispy ) , I wish the burger could hav been a bit better than this.
A. A.
Best meal we had in Ireland. Burgers and fries are fantastic.
S. D.
Simple, great and good pricing! All you need for a amazing burger experience.
c. k.
Best place to go for a quick simple burger. No hard choice (burger or cheeseburger), they ask how it should be prepared. Toppings are customizable. 3 picks of fries (regular hand cut, shoestring or sweet potato) all of them delicious. Great place for a quick bite.
B. L.
Best burger I’ve had so far!
T. H.
The best burger I have *ever* had. Being from the United States where there are burger places every few feet, this is an accomplishment. The menu is simple, but they're mastered the burger.
T. O.
Some claim it to be the best burger in Dublin, I don’t know, what I do know is that it is a very strong contender.
Simple menu, simple design equals long waiting hours (circa 20 minutes), who would have guessed.
Staff are too busy to properly assess them. They might seem unfriendly at times, I’d say it’s because they got about a million things going through their head on top of their own problems..
Burgers are lovely, juicy, succulent, topped with some very nicely cut shoestring fries that go down well
Try it out, give this a thumbs up
J. J. P. R.
Tonight I went to this burger restaurant for the first time (10-01-2020) and the burger is lovely and juicy. I'd say it's probably one of the best burger restaurants in Dublin.
This used to be Angelo (I think), fish and chips restaurant, then a devil-themed one and a bulldog-themed one.
L. L.
The best burger in Dublin! The menu is simply fantastic, is a small paper with 5 options of the same burger, a few types of fries, soda, and a milkshake. That's how confident they are in selling it! And it does work because it's absolutely delicious. One may say that is too simple, maybe that's correct, but that's also the reason why is so good, the ingredients are top quality and the meat is very soft with a lot of flavors. The price is a little bit high, but it's totally fine for what you get.
O. D.
This burger place has the simplest menu I have ever seen. You have the choice between burger and cheese burger (both available in double size) with a selection of the toppings (tomatoes, salad, onion, pickle, mayo, ketchup). Then you have French fries or sweet potato fries and that's it.
I took the double cheeseburger with all toppings and sweet potatoes. It's very classic, but it not necessarily a bad thing. In this case it was not. The burger was delicious.
Price wise, the burger was 9,85€ and the fries 4,95€. It's not cheap, but the quality is there. However to drink I had a whiplash (canned beer IPA) for 6€, which I think is a bit excessive.
The atmosphere is agreeable and the service is friendly.
I. B.
Best burger in Dublin - 100% yes. Best burger in the world - maybe! There is not enough great things to say about these burgers. It's crazy to think that a small city like Dublin delivers a better burger than London, New York or LA. Well done Bunsen...your burgers are unreal!
Z. B.
Burger was great, I asked for medium rare, they said they don't go below medium. Burger was actually perfect medium rare, so I didn't mind. Great burger. I think I got the bottom of the bin of the chips/fries, since they were all tiny pieces and not actually "hand cut" long fries. Would go back for the burger.
E. M.
Gorgeous food and fantastic value for the service offered. Its an extremely modern setting as well which I enjoyed. I look forward to eating here again.
N. M.
Best burger place I have ever been to. Juicy and fantastically prepared meat compared with a soft and lightly sweet bun - perfect! The hand cut fries are my favorite. Try them with vinegar and mayo. The place itself is very hip and modern.
R. B.
I’ve been putting off Bunsen for years. Perhaps it was the hype that put me off – could they really produce the best burgers in Dublin?
With a menu with no frills (actually the size of a business card), I was salivating at the thought of chomping down on some decent grub.
Feeling a bit on the naughty side but decidedly very hungry, I decided to get the double cheeseburger with sweet potato fries.
It’s a rare thing but I was delighted to be given the option to have my burger cooked medium-rare, which immediately told me that the meat must be of high quality.
When my burger and chips were brought to me, I actually marvelled at what lay before my eyes. A juicy, delectable, beast of a burger, the meat fell away in my mouth in a beautiful fashion. Though a tad on the greasy side, I forgave it because of the supreme flavour that coated my mouth. Oh my word.
And the accompaniment? The chips had a delightful sweetness and crispy crunch that made me wanting more and more.
K. V.
I really liked it, I thought people were overreacting when they'd say "the best burger in Dublin" but they're actually good. Get the double cheeseburger if you're quite hungry because the portions are small. The sweet potato fries are unreal! Service is good and the atmosphere is cool.
e. j. k.
Delicious burgers, friendly staff
D. R.
Bunsen is a great burger joint. The burgers are really good, very good quality meat and Irish which is good to hear. The menu is extremely simple, personally I think it's too small but I know that is their business model. The burgers are not cheap, but it's not McDonald's quality either. For the money it's probably the best burger you will get in Dublin and I very much doubt you would get something much better for even triple the price. The layout is very nice, does not feel too cramped, there are disabled toilets and they are nice and the decor is nice, simple and clean, you might say there is a touch of class but without being pretentious or anything.
At the time of writing this 2 cheese burgers, 2 fries and 1 softdrink was under €25. I cannot recommend enough.
I have 1 criticism, the entrance at Wexford Street NEEDS to be redesigned, the 2 doors are a pain, heavy and open against each other. its terrible for your average person, never mind someone who was on crutches or disabled.
M.
Went here with my boyfriend for a quick bite to eat before a gig. Ordered the cheeseburger and shoestring fries and the burger was cooked to perfection - nice and juicy!
Staff are friendly and attentive, prices are probably a bit high but I would go back because the burgers are great.
D. R.
Bunsen is at least in the top 3 burger restaurants within Dublin. Every bite of their burgers sends your taste buds to flavor country. Really nice and good quality fries. Small selection of craft beers just tops it all right off. Frequent visitor and this will continue for a long long time
F. S. C.
Wonderful time.
The best burger in Dublin in my opinion. The meat is simply tender and tasty. The meat always comes perfect to your taste and never left to be desired. It's not good to go in large groups because the service is not too friendly.
T. S.
We had ordered and my daughter suddenly felt unwell so had to change our order to take out. The staff were very accommodating, I really appreciated their concern for her and their effort to have us on our way as quickly as possible. The burger was delicious and cooked as requested. Great sweet potato fries and they were a generous portion.
M. B.
Simple menu but very good burger! Played awesome music too which was a bonus!
R. S.
One of the best burgers in town. Great location, friendly staff. Just avoid peak hours at weekends as you might end up waiting for 30 to 45 minutes for a table. Highly recommended if you are looking for a burger and chips in Dublin.
T. L.
Simple but tasty burger menu! All burger and chip styles are gluten free - except for the ‘original’ bun. They offer a GF bun instead. Knowledgeable and friendly staff too.
Only let down is that they don’t have a gluten free beer to wash it down with! I thought they did last time I went, but apparently not anymore. A shame. But otherwise a good place for a good bite!
S. D.
Great burgers and fries. Really enjoyed the quality of the burgers. They are seasoned well and very juicy, unlike nearly all of the European burgers I’ve had. The fries are crispy and not greasy. Lots of flavor. Would certainly suggest this place.
J. M.
We were in Dublin for two days before we found time to eat out. Everyone recommended trying the burgers in town so after looking for the highest reviewed burger place in town, we headed here. At first I was nervous since some of the reviews didn't think it was worth the price.
There was a brief wait before we were seated at a fairly small table. I ordered the double burger and my wife got the single. We could not believe the size of the sandwiches when they came. They were thick slices of meat on very soft rolls with healthy amounts of condiments.
The burger was cooked very well and had a bit of salt and spice which was very welcome. The wait staff was also kind and left us alone while we ate which I appreciated.
In all honesty, this was one of the best burger places I have eaten and I recommend it to anyone who loves cheeseburgers.
A. F.
The Burgers taste awesome! But:
- they only have cheeseburger and hamburger and different fries... so it's nothing experimental
- prices ok
- service was horrible, waitress was in a bad mood and did not served us until we asked if we can order (we waited really long)
- it is not comparable to a restaurant, more like something in between a fast food restaurant and a snack stall...
C. L.
Best burgers in town by far.
We had a vegetarian with our group and the staff was super helpful to accommodate our friends needs, even not having a veggie burger on the menu.
Also insane sweet potato fries 🍟
C.
Unreal. Incredibly juicy and flavourful. A real focus on the beef itself with your standard choice of toppings. Service quick and friendly. Option to order your burger below well done which isn't seen much in Ireland.
K. T.
Great burger, straight up. Nothing more. Just meat, buns and a few toppings. Can't go wrong with that.
B. J.
If you like burgers, these are the best in Dublin.Maybe the best in Ireland? That's all they do. Burgers. The idea is that they do one thing, and they do it well. And that's exactly what they achieve here. Delicious burgers or cheese burgers with a few different types of fries. The menu is the size of a business card. There's a smallish selection of wines and beers on a blackboard on the wall. There's usually a queue here, but it's worth the wait.
S. S.
By far the best burger in Dublin and I would say the best I've ever tried in my life so far. You get much lower waiting times if you don't go to the one located in temple bar. It's also awesome because the toppings are totally customisable so you decide what you want in your burger.
l. a.
absolutely great burger; highly recommend trying it.
F. L.
Bunsen has a casual, relaxed atmosphere, with traditional restaurant seating. There is a cozy bar seating area with TVs, booths and tables.
The food is good but not exceptional and the service is good.
The burgers are very good, cooked to your specification
I really recommend it!
P. M.
Bunsen has a very short menu...burger or cheeseburger, single or double. That's it. But what they lack in selection, they make up for in quality and amount. I could not bite over the double cheese. Yes, I got messy. Yes, it tasted great. The place isn't large, so don't come in too large groups, but the longest wait we observed during our meal, was less than a minute on a busy Thursday night.
D. H.
Not special or inviting from the outside, but really amazing from the inside! Cool wooden style, great burgers with very good and tasty meat. Not a huge variety (menu fits on a business card) but definitely enough since all items are perfect! Drinks a little expensive, but burgers not too much. Mayonnaise was a little boring taste wise, but it was definitely worth going there!
E. D.
For starters the burgers are excellent! Genuinely delicious. The only real downside was the smallish size of the building. Also keep in mind that the menu is barebones, a cheeseburger (or double) with toppings and a couple different chip options—that’s it. But I’m my opinion that’s all they need!
T. C.
They used to allow you to order your burger cooked how you liked it but do not seem to do that anymore and have joined the well done or nothing mentality that most Dublin burger joints have. I haven't been back in a while as I am not eating meat anymore and the menu is limited to just 2 options a beef burger or a cheeseburger.
C. R.
I love the burgers there, it has a really good price and the shoestring fries are just perfect. The negative point is that they don't have bacon as option in the menu and sometimes the staff are not that friendly. But I recommend for being cheap enough.
J. B.
A simple perfect medium cooked burger. Basic toppings, cheese, pickle, sauce, mayo and range of fries. Served on a tray, small range of drinks. Efficient service and good atmosphere. Want a quality burger? This is the place for you.
T. D.
Great and huge burguers. Nice IPA's too
E. G.
Bunsen is a really amazing burger restaurant. As someone who loves burgers but hates all the toppings and extra things they put on top, this place is a dream come true. The staff is nice, the seating is comfortable and the food is gorgeous. My only complaint is the waiting times. This place is very popular, and as such (unless it’s late at night) you could be waiting as long as 30mins to even set foot in the place, unless you call in and get put on the waiting list. But once you get in, you won’t be waiting very long, and it’s most definitely worth the wait
C.
Their fries are really great. I love a place that keeps their menu simple. So simple, their business cards are the menus. You get burgers and fries, done properly and with high quality ingredients. If you're not down with that then I'd suggest somewhere else.
T. M.
Very good burger joint. They just have hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Their focus is so small that the menu is on a business card, but it is done well. Good 80s and 90s hip hop playing in the background too.
o. s.
I really like the simple decor in the restaurant and the menu cards you can take away with you. However I feel Bunsen in all stores is a bit over rated. It's still a good burger but nothing to shout about. On the positive side, you know the meat is of good quality as they ask you how you want it cooked, and the brioche bun is always nice.
P. L. I.
Its my first time in Bunsen and was a great experience, the main thing, the burger is so tasty, I got the double patty cheese burger with all the toppings for 10e. Sweet potato fries were good also! The service was a bit too slow as it was packed but 4* over all. Defo. Coming back
l. k.
Eaten here many times. Burger is AMAZING. BUT chips not amazing.i hate skinny fries so would love a big fat chunky chip but it's not an option. So instead of shoestring fries I order ' handcut' but they were just small tiny bits of fries with not one substantial chip between them.
They only do burgers and chips which is a great idea but offer a chunky chip PLEASE!
C. V.
Our favorite burger place. If you want an excellent burger, fast service and great experience then this is your place! Also the staff is really friendly. Highly recommend ❤️🍔
C. C.
Best Burgers in Dublin, I went with my Husband and two children this week and we all really enjoyed the burgers. The menu being limited just means the option is very straightforward, My son also loved the milk shakes.
R. G.
Bunsen does burger and chips. Little choice of menu and who cares when the burger is that good. You get your burger cooked how you want and it's cooked for you not sat part cooked ready to go. Chips could be better, generous portions but chunky chip option would make it perfect. There is a reason customers queue to get in. Very good.
S. M.
Best burgers in town. They cook your meat to order, despite not going rarer than medium. Always busy, but you get easily notified of your table's availability once you've registered in the queue, by getting a text when the table is ready. Not the best place for a long meal filled with conversation, but still a nice environment!
I. C.
Pros : good quality meat burger. Very tasty.
Cons : 9.45€ for a double cheeseburger will not include fries nor drink, served on a tray, no dish nor cutlery. Actually it is not great the way they bring the trays from the kitchen, piling up a few of them on top of each other, so that you hope that the one which is rubbing your fries and squashing your burger is mostly clean.
Service about right. Pretty popular spot.
N. B.
We were recommended to get the best hamburgers in town here by The Dean Hotel, what a great recommendation! Since I wanted to take away I didn't have to wait in line and the girl was super friendly and fast when taking my order. The hamburgers are amazing so even if you'd have to wait it's worth it!
L. N.
I loved it, very good Burgers. Just a very few to choose but the cheeseburger was so delicious! Prices aren't cheap but they're worth and probably (in my opinion) not that expensive - like other today's modern burger stores.
N. L.
Bunsen was a place we just decided to stop in and it was a fantastic idea. The menu is very simple. If you don't like hamburgers this probably isn't the place for you. Where they lack in variety they make up with quality. They had a great list of beers. The staff was very nice and the food came out fast. I wish I could've eaten here more.
d. k.
Bunsen in my opinion, is the best burger available in Ireland and beyond. The ingredients are top quality and cooked to perfection time and time again.
Would love to see a loyalty club started as I reckon it would have cult following.
Keep it up.
K. J.
No good for veggies. But some of the best burgers I've ever had, perfectly cooked fries, lovely house beer and some of the friendliest and attentive staff we've had for allergies. All for an amazingly reasonable price.
D. J.
Burger made simply delicious! Visit card menu. Not much to choose from and that's exactly why they are so good at what they do!
I went for the double cheeseburger with sweet potatoes and a proper beer.
Meat was juicy and tasty and was just amazingly good.
No words are enough to describe it.

Great cozy burger joint. Do not expect a serious restaurant environment. Great place for students for a delicious burger. For those with bad eyesight bring your reading glasses as the menu is printed on a little business card. Food is delicious but very limited. Choice is between regular or cheese burger. Toppings are available as per your choosing.
Y. R.
Burguers are simply ok, they are small, and the price is high for what you get. Very few options, the hand cut fries seems like out of the fridge, shoe strings are the best. Place is ok, seems like any fast food place. They were good, but not recommended for coming again. It will be better to keep going with traditional Irish Food, but if you are dying for a hamburger, definitely better than a McDonald's.
The personnel is really good, they give their best to give you a really good attention.
F. L.
Bunsen has a casual, relaxed atmosphere, with traditional restaurant seating. There is a cozy bar seating area with TVs, booths and tables.
The food is good but not exceptional and the service is good. …
B. M.
Delicious burgers, but rude waiters.
H. O.
When you just want to have a good burger, this is the place. They only offer a couple of options, so you won't get confused. Everything they offer is of really high quality.
M.
Went here with my boyfriend for a quick bite to eat before a gig. Ordered the cheeseburger and shoestring fries and the burger was cooked to perfection - nice and juicy! …
Very good.
R. S.
One of the best burgers in town. Great location, friendly staff. Just avoid peak hours at weekends as you might end up waiting for 30 to 45 minutes for a table. Highly recommended if you are looking for a burger and chips in Dublin.
F. S.
Best burger in town!
S. T.
Such a simple concept, but this works very well indeed.
Loved the burger and the fries. The place is so busy which speaks volumes. You'll often find yourself waiting for a table but it's worth the wait. Reasonably priced as well.
o. s.
I really like the simple decor in the restaurant and the menu cards you can take away with you. However I feel Bunsen in all stores is a bit over rated. It's still a good burger but nothing to shout about. On the positive side, you know the …
P. M.
Soooooo......incredibly good! Best burgers I've had in a long time. Only 2 burgers to choose from in 2 different sizes and only 3 side dishes but they are the best! As a connaisseur of fine burgers and yoghurts, I highly recommend Bunsen to anyone who appreciates the finer things in life. Also, the atmosphere is very nice and industrial and the service is courteous. If its full, you can make a reservation on the spot and they'll text you when there is a table available.
A. M.
The burgers are 10/10 - pretty much the best you'll find anywhere. The hand cut chips are sub-par. They are overcooked and they don't taste fresh. My (unsubstantiated) theory is that they're fried earlier in the day, and then re-fried before serving. The shoestring fries are delicious and taste freshly cooked.
N. M.
I had heard a lot about Bunsen and how cool their menu is just a business card. That all sounded great but the limited option and not so great food worked against them. I tried their burger for lunch and it was only a bit better than any American franchise. They served a medium burger almost pink and that's a no no for mince meat. Also for what they charge, it just doesn't worth at all, when you can get a massive delicious burger from Jo Burger or GBK for around 3 Euro more. Only the plus side their staff are friendly.
J. R.
Best burgers in town. Always crowned and you have to wait but is ok, they call you when you table is ready. Waitress always are very nice. The menu is very simple and basic but like I said the burgers are delicious.
M. K.
Unquestionably best burger in town.
A. H.
A burger joint that takes the minimalist approach to its menu. They serve a burger, a cheese burger or a double version of both (not recommended unless you're extremely hungry). The fries are excellent and they offer large portions. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries.
It's great value for money too, especially for a gourmet style burger experience.
z. 3.
The wait is worth it.
It's always filled so sometimes you either have to reserve or wait in line to get a table.
The menu is simple:
Cheese burger
Double cheese burger
Hamburger
Double hamburger
3-4 different kinds of fries
Milkahakes, sodas and a small selection of beer.
Pretty straight forward, the menu is the size of a business card which is quite neat.
Their burgers, fries and milkshakes are probably the best in Dublin.
All for a fair price.
My only complaint is that the place is too small while the demand is quite high.
C. M.
Ok so you've had a burger but you've never had in Bunsen style. Fast service and great food. Simplicity for simplicities sake, the menu is 2 items. A burger or a double, with or without cheese. A variety of toppings and fried and you're all set. Great for a quick lunch and great value compared to other burger places
C. K.
Great Burger. The atmosphere was so good.
이.
Absolutely..The best burger that I eat.
L. V.
Visited this weekend, as it was recommended by my friend as local top burger place in Dublin. The reputation is well deserved. Tried double cheeseburger and it was very nice. Meet: ideal meet/fat ratio, medium rare, nice crust and all the juices in. Toppings: cheese and sause were highlight for me - silky smooth salty cheese with well balanced sauce worked great with pickles. Bun: depends on preference - butter bun (tasted like pottato buns in the US) was crumpled and the dough needed bit more time to go up. There is one big downside on Bunsen...you can´t have bacon in. That´s a crime :)))) Overall 80%(10% for the bacon)
L. F.
Small menu, full flavor and juicy burgers. Got the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, were cooked as requested. Very busy during lunch time. Would've given 5 stars if more toppings were available.
A. M.
What a fantastic burger place. Myself and my daughter went here for dinner and we found the staff amazing and very accommodating. The food was extraordinary and definitely the best burger place I've eaten in a while. Highly recommended.
M. I. L.
Best burgers and cheapest in Dublin! The simplicity of their menu is their distinctive! Beef is so tasty and delicious!
Recommendations: don't get double burgers- they are not so tasty. Get a milkshake and sweet potato fries! Yummi!!
D. J.
Very good burger! I went for the double burger option which was more than enough with shoestrings fries. The extras/toppings for the burgers where limited, would of be nice to add some bacon. Staff could of been a little more friendly.
N.
Great burgers, not a huge selection literally a business card sized menu, burger or double burger and chips. It is exactly what it says on the tin! Fast service, I'd recommend it if you just want to grab something quick at lunch or after work. Staff are friendly also.
C. K.
The best burgers in Dublin without a doubt, food is 5 stars. But the price of the beer is incredible, just two beers almost doubled the price of the bill, imported and craft or not €6 for a 330ml can of beer is a rip off!
N. M.
It's very good - but "5 guys" is close by and get similar but has less wait time, bigger portions, more seating, more restrooms, free drink refills, and a slightly nicer burger.
No wait time during the day, but 45 minutes on a weekend evening is just too long. Went to 5 guys and got a booth as soon as we ordered.
G. C. H.
One of the best burgers I have ever had. Simple, juicy, tasteful, delicious. Great service and ambience as well. Not my first time, not the last neither.
J. V.
Very good burgers and nice atmosphere.
T. C.
Bunsen has the best burgers in Dublin! Their burgers are straightforward and amazing. For the price it's fantastic as it is a sit down service, you can pick topping and how well the meat is done. The only downfall is that you can book, only with parties over 8-10 people which is frustrating when you want to plan to have dinner there with a group of 4. Sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes but they do take your number and call you when the table is ready. Definitely try their cheese burger and shoestring fries! They also service alcohol!
O. C.
Omg this is the best hamburger ever!!! They grind their meet on premises so it’s so fresh. Juicy burger and feeling size. Good atmosphere and clientele.
J. W.
Simple menu, focus on great burgers. Always on our list when visiting Dublin.
S. T.
Such a simple concept, but this works very well indeed.
Loved the burger and the fries. The place is so busy which speaks volumes. …
E. D.
Best Burgers in Ireland! Just back from Belfast where we went to the much talked about Five Guys Burgers and Fries, it was great but give me a Bunsen any day! Tastier burgers, cooler restaurants, table service and friendly staff, it's hard to beat that. I can't find better burgers on this island!
d. p.
Fantastic juicy burger made as it should be. Had the sweet potato fries as well which also were made perfect but disappointed they dont come with the obvious sauces blue cheese dip or sweet chilli. I did love the small menu on business cards...less is more.
Would have got a 5 star if not for the sauces, wouldnt serve a burger without the right sauce so why chips.
J.
I feel terrible in being the black sheep reviewing this place but maybe the problem was that people set me up with the wrong expectations. Everybody kept telling me Bunsen had the best burgers in the world and there was such a built up that upon tasting I could not help it in feeling disappointed.
When I order a burger my focus is on the tastiness of the meat and I felt it was lacking. Then the shoe string french fries were also ok and not particularly exciting (I have to confess that the lack of garlic mayo threw me a bit off).
So overall I left without becoming an advocate like everybody else who had sold me this place.
j. c.
I attended the Bunsen Burger on a busy Tuesday afternoon. Ms Mienie, Isaac Grimes and of course @thrnoutouriousbunsenburner attended too. The fries were exceptional and the burgers too. I felt myself the the water was undercooked and the bins were soggy but it was a great experience with my friends
M. R.
A nice simple menu and efficient service. I asked for a burger cooked medium and they delivered it! The hand-cut fries were a bit over cooked, but the double cheeseburger was excellent.
E. T.
Good spot for burgers only, nice service, staff very nice and lovely ambient for a burger restaurant. In terms of food it was good quality but for our test not to much to offer, the burgers are very basic with is good for ones who like it this way, for us wasn't a bid surprise. We might go back as it still good quality.
C. P.
It is a simple menu but it makes it perfect... just burgers.... you can have a beer an the staff is amazing. Make sure to come earlier because probably you would need to wait... however it is worth it. Best burgers of Dublin
V. J.
Best burger in town. Great taste and affordable. I don't know how many times I've been there already
T. O.
Some of the best burgers in Dublin, freshly ground so you can have them medium with a little pink in the middle and they just melt in your mouth. A must try for any burger fans.
P. G.
Best burger I've eaten in Dublin. Fact. Plus they do a great selection of bottled craft beers. WARNING: if you've a beard you'll need a few napkins as they are so damn juicy!
C. W.
The BEST tasting burger ever! We visited Dublin for three days and we returned every evening just because - it was so worth it! Well worth every cent since the price was really fair.
H. C.
Best burger in Dublin, cooked how you like it. Well worth a visit. Expect to wait though. It's popular. Now - when can we get a veggie burger on the menu Bunsen so I can go with veggie friends?
C. F.
Excellent food, great service and I love the simplicity of the menu ! Couldn't recommend it enough. The burger tasted so fresh, was very big and the sweet potato fries were the best I've tasted. Will definitely be returning !
T. H.
This is a next-level burger experience. The entire burger from bun to meat is selected, sourced and crafted with care and I can affirm it shows. I absolutely do not miss Bunsen when I'm in Dublin. I don't care what else happens, it's a must visit. It's crowded (and with good reason) so plan for a wait during busy hours. They do only a few items and they do them exceptionally well. You will not be let down. I often try to think of excuses to get back to Dublin just for these burgers.
J. P.
I only tried the handcut chips and the strawberry milkshake, both were nice. The chips were a large portion and were generally tasty but contained a lot of off-cut, over-fried pieces which weren't great. The milkshake was obviously made with fresh strawberries and was very tasty. Everyone I was with enjoyed their burgers also.
J. B.
Research,Research,Research....
Just Google "best burger in Dublin" guess where it takes you!
We went on Sat 11/01/2020 our 1st trip to Dublin and im so glad we ended up in Bunsen....Im 51 ive had a few burgers in my time but DAMM! The medium double cheesebuger smashed it out the park and takes pole position, Bunsen we love you.....thank you.
J. L.
Great burgers cooked to your liking.
Very small menu which makes it easier to perfect what's on it!
Would visit again!
G. K.
cheeseburger tasted good, but the portion was so small considering the price. Plus, the distance between the seats was so close, and the atmosphere was like market place to talk pleasantly with the follow members.
C. F.
The only explanation is that you need to experience the burger for yourself
S. R.
Good food but very very sassy staff. Would reccomend WOW Burger for better service!
K. G.
Not as good as it was 2 years ago, but highly recommend going bunless and enjoy the juicy meet and melted cheese in a lettuce wraps. Great option for fat adapated people or gluten free/ sensitive - unsure how much is in the burger
C. A.
Very good minimalist burgers with basic options of option of mayonnaise, lettuce, ketchup, cheese..It is all about the meat! Very larger, tasty and succulent paddies. definitely one of the best burgers I've eaten.
E. C.
Great burger place in Dublin, recommended by the locals! Delicious vanilla milkshakes too. Lots of people waiting when we arrived, but we got a seat within 5 mins so things move fast.
B. C.
Hands down best burger in Dublin. Expect to maybe have to wait until getting a table on weekend evenings. Small tables are a bit annoying and they won't let 2 people sit at a bigger table even if the place is half empty.
A. L.
I'm not at all a burger person but I will eat Bunsen any time! They are cooked to what ever way you want and they do it to perfection! Their chips are really tasty as well! Hand cut or shoe string you choose!
K. J.
Simple American style burgers and fries, quick and efficient service. Food was yummy. We were seated straight away but I could imagine there may be a wait sometimes as it seemed pretty popular when we mentioned it around town.
M. R. L.
Amazing Burger! The qualification of Best Burger Joint in Dublin is justified. 100% recommended, you will regret if you don't go. (Sweet Potato are the best) as a only cont, a bit pricy.
P. C.
Great place to eat if you are not a picky person. It is not the food itself for sure nor the place but rather the limited offer: regular or double, with cheese or without. That's the offer, but you will certainly not regret. They are simply delicious!
Great fries, potato or sweet potato.
Simple but great and very good and quick service once seated. Just bear in mind that depending on thr time, you may need to wait 15 to 30 minutes.
Highly recommended.
D. A.
The best burgers around, so long as that's all you're after as it's literally all they serve.
A basic burger or cheeseburger, with skinny, regular or sweet potato fries. You can add an extra patty but otherwise that's it - so they can just focus on the flavour of the meat and toppings and the wonderfully doughy buns. Perfection.
It's often busy and you can't book a table so pop in 30 mins before you want a seat to get on the list and they'll text when it's all ready.
N. v. M.
One of the few places in Dublin where they actually ask how you want your burger cooked... and then cook it to perfection. Great atmosphere, good background music and very tasty food. If you feel like going all out: get one of the supercreamy milkshakes. Only reason why I didn't give five stars is the lack of a bacon option.
M. B.
Jumpin' Jehoshaphat! What an incredible burger! Not only the best one I've had in Dublin, but one of the best burgers I've had period! The chocolate shake wasn't half bad either. I look forward to going back soon!
J.
Luscious 🍔. Not sure of the blend but it can't be all beef. Maybe lamb or veal? But very good. Fries just so so. Great service. A very good burger and a single is quite large.
J.
The menu is really small. It fits on a business card. But that doesn't effect the quality. And you'll find all the basics which are needed.
One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever eaten.
L. A. C. V.
I loved this place. The burgers are amazing. The quality of the meat is just brilliant and you get to decide how you want it to be cooked. The staff has style and is very efficient.
N. M.
Best burgers in Dublin. Simple, no hassle, good choice of beers too. Can be a bit of a wait but it's worth it. Cheese burger and fries with a beer, nothing better.
S. W.
Very minimal menu, but this is for the better! Faultless burgers and chips. Good drinks menu and delicious milkshakes. On the more expensive side (for burgers and chips), however this is to be expected for Dublin.
C. O.
Pretty damn tasty. I really like the minimalist menu format as well; it's good to see places picking a few things and doing them really well! I can understand how this place is always so busy. A definite must try for a burger lover.
L. G.
Good old faithful bunsen. They don't do much (hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips or 3 kinds and that's all), but they do it very well. The meat is always juicy and moist with a lovely layer of crisp, the salad is always evenly placed and tastes fresh. The chips are... Well chips and the shakes are devine. Abit expensive at €5 but worth it.
An average bill would be around €13—15 for a full drink, chips and burger.
S. M.
Best burger I’ve ever had in Europe hands down. Rivals any burger in North America for that matter. in-n-out / burger’s priest aren’t even close to how good a cheese burger at Bunsen is. Massively impressed! 🤘🤘🤘
D. B.
Fantastic, juicy burger with traditional toppings. Concise menu but great quality. Perfect for a quick meal, especially with a group of friends.
D. D.
The food in this place is impeccable. Medium burgers are juicy without being bloody. Brioche buns brings a sweet flavour that combines well with the tangy salad from pickles and tomatos. But its the sweet potatoes fries that I find totally irresistible. Add a dollop of mayo on that for good measure and I'm in heaven.
So why not 5 points? Well the staff can be a little standoffish. It can take multiple requests to get the mayo or your drink order filled, and more often than not its a case of paying your bill from the menu prices rather than them providing the bill.
But the burgers are so totally worth it!
C. L.
Pretty small so it's almost always busy (always book ahead to groups). And service time can suffer due to size but food is fantastic - one of the best burger places in Dublin!
P. F.
Great burgers. Juicy, cooked to order, nothing fancy but never underdressed. Industrial interiors and unattainably cool staff. Great place for a date if you want to look 'with it' while keeping your hatred of grown-up things like vegetables and fine dining a secret.
E. S.
Delicious! We went twice. The sweet potato fries were amazing! Had to wait for 10mins once but they take your number and call you when table is ready.
C. v. d. L.
They specialize and only serve hamburgers. You can have a regular burger or a cheese burger. Served with fries or sweet potato fries. That's the menu. They have a selection of beers and cocktails. Small criticism: When my burger arrived it was wrapped in paper. When I unwrapped it the fresh bun turned moist from being wrapped with the hot steaming pattie. Easily avoided by not wrapping it. Their music selection was very pop. They turn it up loud as well.
O. P.
If there is such a thing as craft burger, this is what it is. Tiny, focused menu, very reasonable prices. They mince their own meat! Also some nice beers and wines.
H. O.
When you just want to have a good burger, this is the place. They only offer a couple of options, so you won't get confused. Everything they offer is of really high quality.
V. S. (.
Nicely decorated, friendly staff. Menu card might not hold much but less is more. Bun was nice and soft, medium burger tasted good. Can get crowded within a short periods depending on the moment of the day.
F. S.
Good meat quality burgers. Very delicious with sweet potatoes fries. Credit card size menu. Very simple.
A. C.
One of the best burgers i have ever had, it is just so simple but so good atthe same time, i got the cheesburger with the sweet potato fries, would recommend very much. 11/10
F. S.
Never disappoints. I've had burgers all over the world and this is the one I rate all of them against. Consistently cooked across all restaurants, incredible quality meat.
K. C.
After having Bunsen a good few times I'm very tempted to get 'Bunsen never dissapoints' on a tshirt and wear it for the rest of my life. THESE ARE THE BEST BURGERS IN DUBLIN!
I've had other so called great burgers but nothing comes close to the beefy juicy burger that is Bunsen. Also the fries are great!
N. L.
One of the nicest burgers you'll get in Dublin. The menu is small, simple and to the point! Service is quick and always friendly. Highly recommended.
M.
A very short menu however their burgers were delicious. Would definitely recommend to pop in here for a quick bite. There may be a wait but it's moves fairly quick.
Ú. M.
Loved it. Tastiest juiciest beefiest burgers we've had in ages. Really friendly and engaging staff. Cool surrounding. I'm dreaming of the next visit!! 😍
M. G.
Can't trust a burger place that does not serve bacon.
They mixed up our order. Burgers themselves pretty ok but nothing special.
I guess less is more. Dont expect to build the burger of your dreams. 6/10
V. Q.
The food is pretty good, the service was fast and the staff was friendly. I am giving it only 3 stars because they brought me the wrong order and because the burger cannot be cooked anything less than "medium" (not sure is this is something required by law...)
g. c.
Tasty beef burgers - juicy and perfectly cooked. Soft drinks are often a bit warm though.
Simple menu - beef burger and fries or sweet potato fries. No vegetarian option option.
J. P.
The only do 2 types of burgers (plain and cheese burger) and they do them great! The place is always packed so you may have to get your name on the waiting list (30 mins max) and they will text you when your table is ready
A. A.
Burger and home cut fries done right.
With options of beer or milkshakes. Fantastic service, really friendly, clean. Bathroom is clean but the mirrors are hella carnival like.
Burger was delish.
O. B.
I love this restaurant. I think it is even better than 5 guys as the menu is very simple, minimalist. You don't have to think too much ! My favourite is bacon cheese burger....the bacon is so crispy 😀 delicious !
M.
Burgers are great. Good quality of meat. I love the shortcut fries ! One of my favourite burger places in Dublin.
B. G.
Best burger in Dublin, hands down - with a very reasonable price tag at the same time. Expect to pay around 12€ for one of the best burgers of your life, fries and a soft drink.
A.
Soft bun, normal sized burgers. Not a lot of toppings. Specialized minimized menu. Good burger during a night out in Dublin. I deducted a star for bringing my wine in a whiskey glas.
E. P.
My favourite burger in the city, improved by the kind and adorable presence of Manuela in the branch on Ann Street. Kind, funny and sweet, it was a pleasure to encounter someone with so much heart. Thank you for a lovely time.
S. W.
I was promised to get the best burger in Dublin and I was not disappointed. the location is always full but you can tell them your number and they send you a text when your table is free - great service.
E. A.
The burger took a little bit longer than I was expecting, but it was really good and tasteful. There is a lack of burgers option, which can drive someone out. But definitely tasteful
A. M.
Bunsen is a strange experience. you walk into what looks like an unusually neat fast food joint and are seated by a waitress. The waitress then produces two small business cards with the simplistic menu on them (Burger, Fries (regular/sweet potato) and Shakes or soda). I ordered a double cheese burger with shoestring fries and a strawberry milkshake. So for me the double burger was waaay too big if I go there again (which I might) I'm ordering a single because frankly its too nice a burger to have it turn into a mush ball in your hand after the first bite. The fries were well cooked and crispy but oversalted to within an inch of their lives. The shake was really great and tasted like only the best quality icecream was used in it (if not homemade infact). So all in all a tasty meal that will run you somewhere into the 15-20 euro each area money wise but is well worth it if you want a burger that is superior to the usual suspects.
J. M.
Best burger in Dublin. Small menu but it's perfect if you ask me. Nice selection of craft beers and wine too
L. H. (.
Went to this place expecting great burgers, they definitely delivered! Good value for money. Lovely staff and a cosy atmosphere.
I want one of these in at home in Birmingham. :)
J. L.
There is not doubt, this is one of the best places to have a burguer in Dublin. With its super thinck and juicy patty, great bum, quality ingredients and sellection of beers the place has become a favourite between dubliners.
A. C.
Friendly place with great hamburgers. The fries are so good, they have different options and the dynamic of the places it's different to the rest. Great place and good services.
M. S.
Savage burgers, small menu but you don't need more than what's on it! Love their skinny fries, obsessed 😍
p. b.
Great Burger. Highly recommended. It was busy when we arrived but they took my details and text when table was free. Worth the short wait. No presure to but drinks etc. which was nice
S. I.
I find the score I give quite generous. Dont get me wrong, the food was good, but the menu is so thin and the burgers so simple we found it to be a little lazy, even if it was generous and fresh. It also felt a little overpriced, and we had to wait outside for 15minutes (they have a cool sms system when ur table is ready). The streets of temple bar are cool though, it wasnt a problem :)
B. C.
Not cheap but most definitely worth it. The best burger you will have in Dublin. Nothing fancy mind, just a perfect bun and a perfect burger served how it should be.
T. R.
Really nice greasy burger and a big feed for the hungry! One of the waitresses attitude was a little bit rude which is why only 4 stars, good food though
J. B.
Was recommended this place as the ‘best burger in Dublin’ and let me tell you it doesn’t disappoint; a compact menu but don’t let that fool you the taste is still off the charts
P. F.
One of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Simple and delicious, as was the vanilla milk shake.
R. O.
Burger.
Cheese.
Chips.
Don't go if you don't like eating animals and maybe seeing that meat might still have a red colour when you stick it, delicious and juicy and dripping, between your quivering lips and bite down, possibly causing mild cramping in your jaw muscles - those little circular ones at the corner of your face - as the unctuous fat and salt coats your tongue and kicks off a primitive, life affirming reaction that even now we don't fully understand, something that tells you in the deepest seat of your being, yes - this is it, this is why I'm alive, this satisfies me in a way that a vegetarian lasagne, no matter how delicious it is, could never really do... if your love for animals extends only as far as pretending they're humans and not to the point of being willing to eat each and every last part of them... then don't go.
Do go if you like tasty burgers.
Three stars.
D. R.
Probably the best burgers in Dublin. (Maybe on par with wowburger). Generally nice atmosphere, though busy. Not a place to sit for hours.
M. F.
This is what is called as the best burger you could try. No many option but once you try it you will taste the different from any burger that you have ate before. Always there is await and no reservation. However quick service.
M. B.
Simple menu, great burgers!
C. H.
Easily the best place I've ever been to for burgers. You don't need to stress over your order at all. Just pick your cooking temperature, toppings, and fries.
R. B.
Staff in here are always nice and helpful and the burgers never let you down, disappoint, or leave you feeling guilty you had one. Delicious.
P. R.
The burger was awesome I definitely recommend that
But couldn't give the five star treatment because of the fries
They were a bit to greasy for me
They hadn't being drained properly
And the greasy fries left a bad taste in my mouth
But the burger made up for it tho 👍
M. P.
Best Burgers around- yum 😊
C. H.
People think this is the best burger in Dublin. It didn't live up to that hype for me. Good fresh meaty burger all the same. Better with a few pints on board.
B. M.
Delicious burgers, but rude waiters.
A. T.
Brilliant food as usual and service was exceptional. A restaurant with a great atmosphere and lovely staff to compliment their absolutely amazing burgers.
L. H.
Great burgers, reduced menu: hamburger and cheeseburger, also available as doubles, some fries. Always crowded, expect waiting time, especially as a group. Singles and couples can sometimes squeeze in.
M. M.
This is the tastiest burger around, they mince there own meat so can cook the burger how you like it from well done to rare, you can't make a reservation but there are great bars like against the grain across the road.
T. D.
This place has a very simple approach on burgers. They only do 2 dishes - hamburger and cheeseburger - , and they do it very very well. Go here if you want a simple quality-meat burger and nothing more, for a fair price (6.95-7.95€)
A. B.
The double cheeseburger was cooked beautifully, one of the best burgers I've ever had, fries are okay, better then average but there's room for improvement
D. S.
As burgers go this is pretty Damn good and I cannot fault it but I would also like to say that it is the single most overrated place in Dublin. There's better out there, don't believe the hype
S. O.
Great tasting burgers, freshly prepared and delicious. World's smallest menu perhaps? Keep it simple and do the best things perfectly. Friendly staff. All good.
J. M.
Jesus had some burger here, was very juicy just melted in my mouth! Classic combinations are the way here. Ketchup skinny fires and coke....delish! Service is minimal but fast and friendly

When I think of burgers in Dublin I now think Bunsen.
On our way home from the Swan Cinema in Rathmines we normally take a walk down Camden Street/Wexford Street. and have the "where should we have dinner" conversation. Bunsen is a firm favourite on this list.
The space that Bunsen currently occupies used to be filled by Pizza Dog and before that Hell Pizza.. oh how I loved Hell pizza.. They had gluten free pizza and one of their pizzas had satay sauce on it! Yum. But, I digress... BUNSEN. On one of our walks a good few months ago we spotted the above scene. A new place opening in the spot. So, my other half is a very investigating soul and he set about finding out what was going on.
A quick Facebook search found their page. They had no gluten free buns for the opening but offered to wrap the burger in lettuce. As soon as they had buns I was in there!
The menu comes on a business card. There's no frills. Just good burgers, chips, and shakes.
Their "normal" buns are made fresh every day and they stock some really nice gluten free buns. The burgers are made in the back, everyday. They grind their meat with a bit of salt and pepper and that's it. No flour holds the burger together.
You can custom order your burger too. I like mine medium rare but it is so juicy that I started ordering medium, just to avoid the meat juices dripping down my fingers.
All burgers come with toppings; if you don't want something ask them to leave it off. I always leave off the pickle and the onion because I can't have them. The taste does not suffer for it.
The last time we went in to eat I didn't take a picture before we started to eat but this was what was left of our two meals. It's just good food.
I noticed that they are starting to stock gluten free beer too. I spotted it on their blackboard after I'd ordered a glass of wine but I'll be trying that on my next visit!

The hamburgers are very good but small. The place is really cool and the staff nice and friendly. I strongly recommend this place.
V. H.
Love the place, simple menu and quick service. The burgers are nice (not the best burgers in Dublin but definitly very taste) and the chips are awesome!
C. F.
Definitely the best burgers in Dublin! Sooo tasty, give it a try and you will evaluate all other burgers in a different way! #excellent
R. R.
Fantastic burgers from 6.95€ ! Very friendly staff!
D. I.
Probably the best burgers in Dublin
M. P.
Visiting my friend here in Dublin for the weekend, and she recommended we eat here. Was not disappointed. Plain and simple food done well. Very reasonable and the service is also great!
R. S.
Best burgers in town!!!
D. G.
simple delicious burgers made to order. the only thing wrong is that there isn't a vegetarian burger on offer because i can't go in there if i'm with my vegetarian other half! i wanted to give 41/2 stars for that but it wouldn't let me :(
N. S.
Best burger in Dublin even with new competition becoming more and more common place. A bigger premises and a few extra items on a very simplified menu would be my only suggested improvements.
M. J.
Delicious, affordable burgers in a super convenient location. Very simple menu and friendly staff. Would recommend for a cheap lunch or dinner!
M. Á. G.
Awesome burgers! They have a very good system to notify you when your table is ready if you book. Original business cards as well!
F. H.
One of the best burgers in the world! I'm part of a Burger Club in London and San Francisco so I've had a few burgers ;) This is one of the top 3 I've ever had!
R. J.
Will always be the first and best bunsen place. If you're hungry, get two singles instead of one double cheeseburger. And maybe dip your fries in the vanilla shake.
M. G.
Best burgers in dublin!
S. M.
A truly brilliant burger. It easily stands toe to toe with the likes of Five Guys, but at a slightly lower price point and without the nut allergy risk!
l. c.
Great burgers and good value. Cool, hipster place with a limited selection, particularly drinks, but offer a gluten free burger option
M. T.
Very good as usual, though the one in Temple bar offers more delicious burgers. We ordered a medium done one, but got rare
W. D.
Great place to get a burger. Small place, small selection but the quality is great. The burger is served wrapped up with fries (and maybe a beer!).
Recommend it.
D. C.
The burgers are great, but beware the double ones are a bit messy to eat. Great prices. Would eat here again without hesitation.
P. “.
Best Burgers in Town - If you are really hungry go for double ! Menu is ... unique - short but every item is ... one of the kind !
A. D.
Menu is small and so convenient. Burgers are nice as well as the chips. Milkshake was good too. (Note this place only sells burgers)
A. O.
Best burger in Dublin hands down! With amazing milkshakes and fries too! Simple menu done right
R. M.
Best burger in Ireland. Bar none.
Menu simple burger and fries.
Prices excellent.
Beer available.
M. S.
Burgers are really tasty. This is why it's impossible to get seating. Hate the waiting around outside for up to 40minutes but if you want a proper burger look nowhere else
J. P.
Simple and straightforward menu. Really good burgers and chips. It use to be packed on lunch and dinner times. Very difficult to get a spot if you don't book in advance.
R.
Awesome simple burgers, they've raised the prices a bit still cheaper than most places, good staff, music bit too loud for a food place so was not easy to have a conversation but overall very recommended place.
L. C.
The burgers are amazing and I recommend the sweet potato fries. Staff is friendly and always very helpful.
L. T.
Great Burgers, lots of Pommes but the music was too loud for us. Maybe its just their style, but we don't liked that.
But just for the food 5*
J. B.
The burger was nice, but I didn't like the chips at all. The menu said shoestring or hand cut. I got hand cut... I would hate to see the shoestring size.
I. S.
Bunsen burgers are the best in Dublin. Simple menu, great service and super milk shakes. Bunsen simply won't be beaten.
C. Q.
Simply the best burgers in Town. The simplest but tastiest offering in Ireland, the burgers are delicious, straightforward, but a must-have on a regular basis!
Have a Bunsen now!
R. C.
Huge burgers! Getting a double was an absolutely ridiculous (albeit delicious) mistake...not super great for convo as it was loud and not good at all for kids if you want room for a high chair...
I.
Simple menu. I ordered a double cheese burger, sweet potato fries and a vanilla milk shake. They were so good, I didn’t leave a single piece behind 😍
D. N.
Best burgers in Dublin and beyond. Straightforward (there are only Hamburgers or Cheeseburgers), delicious & just perfect!
d. d.
Burger is absolutely lovely but the milk shake is more like a water shake it’s that thin and watery- get your act together and produce milkshakes as good as your burgers
R. R.
Great food!! Best hamburger I have ever had, lovely restaurant theme and great staff. Can't wait to go back on Friday!!!
T. S.
Awesome burgers and fries (especially the sweet potatoe and shoe string fries). Very friendly and fast service. Limited seating and crazily busy at times but totally worth the wait.
J. W.
What a great burger, efficient service and lovely atmosphere. Recommended highly.
S. Z.
Best burger I had so far in Dublin for the price. They keep it simple but delicious.
G. T.
Great food at a fair price
M. H.
Bunsen burger was awesome. Get the shoestring fries. I love a good chunky chip but I wished I'd ordered the shoestrings :)
B. R.
Expensive but very delicious. Burger tasted similar to a McDonald's but soooo much better. Like it was done properly and wasn't made of plastic. Recommended!
P. M.
One of the nicest burgers I've ever eaten and handcut chips are gorgeous. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
C. D.
I don't eat burgers ever, except here. It's my one exception. Delicious and simple. Great staff too!
A. M.
Great simple decor and delicious, reasonably priced food. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much of a problem for them. Will be back on my next visit to Dublin!
I. W.
One of the best burgers I had so far and great chips, too. Great place to go with a fair price and friendly staff.
t. w.
A bit overpriced. It's a cross between a chipper and a restaurant. €11 for a burger and chips served on a tray, without plates or cutlery!!!! Food is nice but won't b3 rushing back.
A. J. R.
Very simple place, menu is on a business card. Gluten-free burgers available. Really yummy
P. L.
Burger was very good, but the chips were soggy and they forgot my drink(takeout order)
G. V.
Smallest menu ever. But all it needed. Excellent, and I do mean excellent, burgers. Good job as that's all they do (apart from chips/fries and drinks).
K. R.
Very minimalistic menu which is absolutely fine since it is so good and you wouldn't want to eat anything else :) The place is quite small so you might have to wait a few minutes before you get a table but the wait is well worth it.
D. C.
The best burger you can have in Dublin. Small menu, great quality and value. Friendly staff.
O. S.
Best burger in Dublin! Cool business card sized menus and friendly staff. A little pricey but worth it!
P.
Drove in a few Saturdays ago on my tod from Blackrock just to get one of these burgers, (picked up two). Says it all really.
Staff are great craic, service is fast, food is delish. Simples
D. L.
Best beefiest, juiciest burger ever, sweet potato fries were also cooked to perfection.
A must visit when in Dublin.
D. D.
Make reservation before you go, it's super popular and it's amazing place! Best burgers EVER! Highly recommended!
M. L.
Great quality!!!! Expect 10-15 minute wait for perfection. I believe the only place allowed to serve you hamburger medium rare.
E. M. M. B.
Very simple menu but always tasty and burgers are not too big. Burgers cooked to your liking.
L.
Said its the best burger in Dublin.... but it was more like an expensive Big Mac. Tasty but not worth the price.
B. K.
Best burger in the world, genuinely. I've never been disappointed with the quality from Bunsen, and have brought so many people to try it out that think the same.
D. M.
Great burgers with local products. If you want to take a bite you will not be disappointed! The service is great.
D. J.
For me it's the best burgers in Dublin.
If you go night time you'll have to stay in the queue for long time to get a table but it's worth it.
A. F.
Simply the best burger in town. Busy place but worth a visit. Gluten free options
D. C.
Good. Plain. Could be great. Missing something.
G. D.
One of the best burgers in Dublin. Simple and tasty. Generally less overcrowded than the other Bunsen
T.
Best burger in Dublin. Small menu with just standard burger and chips but you don't need anything else.
G. C.
Good place, great food, honest prices
J. R.
Delicious burgers with really tasty milkshakes as well. Will definitely go back. Would recommend the hand cut fries too.
A. T.
If you like burgers, GO TO THIS PLACE. Menu is super simple, and they are some of the best burgers and fries you'll ever have.
J. J.
Probably my favourite burger joint in the world right now! Been here and back again numerous times. These guys know what they're doing, and do it quite well. 👌
R. a. S. N.
Great place to stop in for a burger. It was fun atmosphere. The prices were reasonable. Worth a visit!

Beat hamburger in Dublin. One of my favorite places to go. Fantastic staff. Always very welcoming and accommodating!
B. R.
Best hamburger in the world hands down. I love the menu concept here everything they serve is on a business card.
J. A. S. S.
Best hamburgers in Dublin
D. H.
Great for a cheese burger and sweet potato fries. Bunsen is a step above Eddie Rockets. And lovely if you like a medium rare burger.
F. T.
Lovely burgers, limited menu with only 4 items on it. Really cool setting inside and staff are nice too
m. t.
Very high quality beef and the hand cut chips were wonderful. The price is a bit steep
C. M.
Gorgeous burger and chips. Shouldn't have gotten the double cheeseburger. Too much for me but it was fantastic.
M. W.
By keeping a simple menu they can do one thing and do it really well. The shoestring chips are great too. Gluten free option available too!
F. L.
For me this is the best burger in town. Make sure to give you plenty of time for your dinner as there is always waiting at the door.
M. W.
Amazing burgers and great service. Good accessible bathroom too. My new favourite place to eat in Dublin!
G. R. O.
nice burger place. There are only 4 options but they are delicious. I love the sweet potato fries!
O. M.
Best Burger in Dublin, they have reduced there seasoning since they opened but are still very very tasty.
P. H.
Simple amazing food, love that the menu fits on a business card and staff we're great considering how busy it was. When in Dublin...must add to the food list people!
B. N.
Awesome fast casual burger joint!
Ν. Μ.
Extremely tasty but a couple more options in the menu would be a nice touch! do ABSOLUTELY try the sweet potatoes!
M. O. H.
Fav casual hand burger in Dublin. Just something about the burgers that no where else has matched for me yet!! Delicious.
M. S.
This is by far the best burger joint in Dublin. So much so, that the place is almost always full, so expect a 20min wait, but well worth it.
S. C.
A delicious burger, cooked to order and cooked to perfection. No pics unfortunately because I devoured it too fast! Can't wait to go again.
E. K.
Lovely burger. Staff a lot nicer than they used to be which makes for a more comfortable dining experience.
W.
Great cheeseburgers and sweet potatoes!
i. b.
The waiting time to get the food after having ordered is too long. Also the point of the meat is quite random and not always what you ordered. Also some staff is very nice and some a bit rude.
S. H.
Wonderful restaurant with helpful staff, comfortable atmosphere and great minimal menu that comes at a cheap price. Quite crowded at times so booking must be done to enter the place.
W. M.
Still the best burgers in the world.
Seating at this one can be a little uncomfortable, but for short visits and good food it can be ignored.
C. C. O.
Absolutely delicious simple burger. Chips is good too. Just perfect! Can't wait to come back.
A.
Extremely large burgers that are tasty too. They don't have any tap beer, only bottled with high prices.
K. H.
Wonderful and delicious burgers. Very unique taste. Will definitely be here regularly
J. H.
Delicious burgers, simple menu. The best gluten free burger my wife has ever tasted.
A.
Very tasty burger. The hand cut fries were average. Service fine.
F. W.
Outstanding burger! Well worth and will get it again. Fries are great too.
F. P.
The cheseburger is delicous the sweet potatoes hare also prety good. It is just a litle bit overpriced expecialy for big groups.

D. A.
Very tasty home made burger, solid nice place. Not expansive.
Highly recommend!
J. N.
Call it overrated or over-hyped, you've got to admit their burgers are really good and tasty. Not the fanciest place but I didn't expect more than that!
K. M.
I'm a fan of their ethos and menu. Highly recommended if you're looking for great burger and chips.
C. N.
Simple menu, delicious burgers (and fries!), fast service, fun atmosphere. Can't go wrong with a bunsen burger
M. C.

However, one staff member was rude.
X. Y. W.
Excellent burgers. Nice atmosphere! Worth a visit when you are in Dublin.
S. M. B.
Burgers were good! Not mind blowing and the toppings should have been better, fries were really good.
J. D.
Delicious Burgers, friendly staff and moderate prices. If you are in the area you should definitely go there.
K. J.
I only tried a chocolate shake and it was loaded with chocolate, would recommend. The only thing is that it was just a small cup of it while literally across the street you can get two large shakes for the same price.
T.
Amazing burgers here. Great fries too. Great staff. Well worth a visit.
M. d. N.
Great service and a fun value vibe - the menu is limited to just burgers but they're very tasty!

S. G.
Great burgers, simple as! No fuss about fancy toppings or exuberant sides, just a great burger and chips
G. K.
First visit to Bunsen. Reviews were correct 😀 excellent, well flavoured, cooked to perfection. No wonder there seems to always be a queue
M. S.
Best Burger in town by far. Always Very very crowded so prepare to wait about 30 to 60 minutes. The wait is worth it though.
A. C.
I'm not usually one for leaving reviews but this was probably the nicest and best cheeseburger I've ever purchased.
The end
A. V. V.
