R. T.Lovely staff and fantastic food. I was there with my family for Sunday lunch and we had a lovely time. The starters in particular were fantastic. Great to have a restaurant of this calibre in Longford. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to try out the dinner menu!

M. M.Waited a year to go with lockdown as we were celebrating our anniversary. Sunday lunch for 6. Staff lovely but 4 starters arrived and we were finished before the other 2 arrived. The mains arrived but no vegetables. Staff in and out of the kitchen and eventually we had to ask and they were brought out. Sunday lunch is €40 per head and for this price I'd expect good service aswell as good food. I've been here before and it was perfect. I know new owners have taken over and I will go again. I really hope the high standards don't drop as it's a beautiful location.
J. Q.Absolute perfection throughout. The rooms are exquisitely decorated, and the food at breakfast and dinner is the best in the Midlands. Make sure you take the time to explore the gardens. The house and gardens were styled by the Pakenhams, the former Lords of Longford. This really is one of Ireland’s true hidden gems.

D. D.Absolutely fantastic. Myself and my husband arrived just before 9pm without a reservation and restaurant manager was so lovely to get us a table when the restaurant was so busy. The barman was so polite and friendly and knew his wines. Our waitress was so lovely and couldn't have done more for us. The food was delicious!!! Had the steak for mains and would definetly recommend. All in all we had a great night. The house is beautiful but the friendly staff and good food really made it.

Go early and have a drink in the little bar before your meal or if you are staying in the house then perhaps in the beautiful vaulted ceiling lounge.The staff and service are all very knowledgeable and friendly and then menu is interesting and varied. The house and gardens are equally charming, definitely have a walk around such as to the first floor library and sit down with a glass of vino. The owners Beryl and James are fantastic hosts with no fuss made about any request. We have stayed twice now and will 100% return again and again.
J. C.Just back from a birthday night away. Great welcome, beautiful characterful house in beautiful setting in Longford town. Shown to a perfect room No1 top floor, double bedroom with four poster bed and big en suite, complimentary water and fruit in room. TV had infinite channels. Bed extremely comfortable with duck down duvet! Beautiful views from warm room. Maybe could do with a nightlight for ensuite? Multi award winning Restaurant is adjoining. Menu was diverse and what I had was absolutely perfect! Top quality ingredients and unreal value for money. Small bar on site has extensive wine list and Heineken & Murphys on draft. Big warm fire to enjoy a drink beside after dinner. Breakfast was really good this morning, fresh fruit bar and cereal. Breakfast menu has a wide choice and food was locally sourced! Cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this family run guesthouse for anyone, we are a young couple. Some families and more mature guests there too. Lovely gardens and walks on site.

The food is very good for meat-eaters, but the non-meat dishes are often not fully vegetarian and whilst they're sometimes very nice, they can be only OK.

I have dined here both privately and for business and I am always left wanting to return. The food is exquisite and there is always plenty. Staff are well trained by the lady boss who is very ‘present’ and nothing is too much trouble. I can’t wait to return!

The rooms are delightful: grand and refined in a traditional way, but with great modern touches (smart TVs, well-appointed bathrooms). Breakfast is a treat, especially the ‘boxty benedict’.

This may be due In part to the new head chef who has taken over the kitchen since my previous visits. But the wow factor is gone and it is a pity ☹️
