e. d.Amazing price, i was a passing cyclist, got a room, didn't get there till after midnight, had no issues getting in or out, for a 2 star hotel it's simply brilliant. This place is very quiet. I would definitely use this hotel again without hesitation. My only issue is they could email over text for confirmation reasons obviously?

While we were staying the owners happened to be on annual leave however there was no shortage of excellent service from their son, Andy if I remember correctly.
The hotel itself is a lovely little nook tucked away under the ridge of the nearby hill range with a collection of hill walking and and forest hikes. Should you drive yourself there which I would recommend there's just a short trip to nearby Dungarvan for whatever entertainment you have in mind, if you'd prefer to not spend a few quiet days stolen away with whoever you stay with.
As for the hotel itself, we really felt like we were staying in a countryside cottage in the room and a private adult community outside of it.
Would stay again gladly!

R. H.Never stayed there, but in nearly 40 years I can honestly say I have never seen so many mixed reviews. Also just a word of advice, the management comments on their reviews is not very professional. It seems if you book between certain times it's fantastic but after that it's a inconvenience, shame, a little bit of work with the owners on customer service and it would be a gold mine, all the best in the future in these hard times.

S. P.We stayed here for a night in late April with friends during a road trip around Ireland. Dave and Mary made us very welcome and lit a lovely fire for us in the bar/restaurant area. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed and very clean. The food was good and plentiful. Breakfast was excellent. Dave told us that we could go up to the monastery at 8pm to attend the service of Compline and they held dinner for us as we wanted to do that. A unique and well run hotel, in a very rural setting. A most enjoyable experience.
O. S.A majestic place. Very cosy and authentic. Has its own charm. The owner is very hospitable - met us personally, offered a drink and a nice chat in front of a fireplace. The room was warm and spacious, as was the bathroom, with a full size bath - wonderful after the journey. Enjoyed the place a lot. Definitely would recommend - truly a pilgrim's rest.

L. M.Stayed at the pilgrims rest Lismore ireland last year during the summer for 4 weeks It is superb the owners are very nice polite and helpful. The full Irish breakfast is to die for and some lovely meals were freshly made.. The rooms are clean simple and tidy..
This is only 2 star but the service nd attitude is like a five star hotel. It is in a lovely area of Ireland in co. Waterford near lismore cappoquin and mount melleray with ios world famous abby..
I love to play golf and fish and all the facillities are near by and the owners will help you with anything you need well done see you again soon
35 euro for a room per night is also a great bargain
