c. g.I had a delightful stay over at the Vienna Woods hotel this December. An exquisite hotel, very tastefully designed, full of lovely and helpful staff, not to mention that the whole place had lovely Christmas decorations. The rooms are big, with great, comfy beds, the breakfast is delicious and the whole experience is really amazing. Can't recommend Vienna Woods hotel more!
J. J.We had an amazing time during our stay and can't speak highly enough about the staff and hotel. The friendliness was the best I've experienced in Ireland and the helpfulness for any little thing was second to none.
The breakfast was especially good and a lovely touch was the honeycomb from a local supplier.
It was a pleasure to stay and to recommend!
V. O. A.Top class set in a somewhat idyllic ambience. Attention is sharp, the receptionists are warm and welcoming. I'm usually fastidious about beddings, often travelling with my own bedsheets; but the room was spick and span to the dot. Ditto for the bathroom. The breakfast was ample and rapid to the table.

M. M.Great location and thanks to the recent upgrade the hotel lounges and bar area are very well appointed as was our executive room, and would highly recommend the upgrade. I would have given 5 stars but the breakfast, the room allocated for this and the breakfast room manager where all not up to scratch. The sausage rather plus white pudding were awful, but you need a new source for these. The manager needs a course in how to talk to guests and staff! Marty.

K. M.We are just back from a fantastic stay at Vienna woods. It was our second time to stay and each time we brought our mini schnauzer Mylo with us as hotel is pet friendly. Mylo was treated like royalty by all the staff. The weather was sunny and we sat out and had lunch on the terrace and dinner later that evening. Mylo was loving all the attention again from the evening/night staff. On check out the Receptionist and F&B manager came out to say goodbye to Mylo. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a truly enjoyable stay. Highly recommend

All the staff were professional and very helpful but a special mention to Amy (Food and drink manager) and to Dylan (waiter the two evenings) both who are a credit to the hotel.
The beds were the most comfortable in any hotel we have ever stayed in.
If we were trying to a find fault we would have to make up something and will definitely return for another visit in the future. 10 out of 10 in every way.

A. D.It was my Mums 80th birthday and over the last 19 months, we were getting afternoon tea delivered to the house for special occasions. As this was a major celebration, we decided to come here and we weren't disappointed in what was offered. We had a room to ourselves to enjoy the amazing afternoon tea that was on offer. Shulagh, the breakfast manager came up and made Mum feel she was the Queen and offered to take some family photos. It is great to create memories and to have three generations celebrating together. Would recommend and will definitely return. There is disabled parking near the front door so it was helpful for us.

Had the breakfast which also brilliant (my mother says it’s the best breakfasts she’s had). Not an Irish standard breakfast! The breakfast manager, Shulagh was incredibly lovely! Will be back again.

M. C.Small flaws reduces the star rating here. No information packs in room, no plug hole in ensuite sink. Poor tea and coffee making facilities, no drinking glasses in room. Poor selection of beers in public bars. Possibly COVID-19 related, there did not appear to be any room service. It's a €20.00. taxi fare, one way into Cork city centre.

J. O.This weekend I ordered a 'takeaway afternoon tea' for my birthday from Vienna Woods. I couldn't recommend it more! Even though it wasn't even a sit down/in house afternoon tea (due to current covid restrictions) I would still say it's the best afternoon tea I've had to date. The booking process was very smooth. Had a phonecall from the hotel within a few hours to confirm booking and payment. They were so kind and took on board any dietary requirements with no issues. On the day I collected the afternoon tea I was greeted by such friendly staff in the hotel. The food was parceled in beautiful boxed with ribbons and came with balloons and a birthday card...what a treat! To add to the great service I got a friendly phone call that evening from Vienna Woods wondering how I enjoyed the food and of there was anything else they could do for me. Without a doubt it made my covid birthday celebrations very special and will certainly be returning for a stay or a dinner when restrictions ease. 10/10 service. Thank you!

M. F.We had our wedding reception here in Dec 2020. It is a beautiful venue and the staff are second to none. We had enormous help in planning (and re-planning due to the pandemic) our wedding from Michael and Adina, which we will always be grateful for. The day itself was just perfect, the staff were friendly and extremely attentive to all our guests and the food was really five star quality, it was amazing. The hotel and the grounds are so beautiful and well managed we had our photos taken on site. We could not recommend Vienna Woods enough. Thank you for a most amazing day.

The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely evening, in particular, Emer and Encar who were on hand through the meal if we needed anything. We were worried about how it would work with the new restrictions but the staff were so amazing and made the whole experience enjoyable. H.For the day that’s in it, I ordered Afternoon Tea for my Mom from Cork's Vienna Woods Hotel & Holiday Homes and oh my god- it was perfection😱 From the presentation, to the detail and right down to the taste... it was amazing! My mom opened the door to a lovely man standing with balloons, a beautiful box wrapped and a gift bag. As you can see by the photos, they really thought of everything for Mother’s Day. Balloons, cake stand (I paid extra for this), daffodils, nextflix recommendations in the booklet, a menu, Mother’s Day card, candle wax melts, tea bags/ coffee/ Jam, and the most delicious cakes and sandwiches. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The staff were so helpful and accommodating on the phone and they even rang my mom later on this evening to make sure everything was ok for her. 5 stars from us today ⭐️ I will definitely be ordering from them again😍

C. C. C. o. J.I only paid 89 for a double bed room plus a small package. Although, the room is small but it comes with free breakfast, 2 glasses of wine and a tapas board. We didn’t know the tapas board contains so many starters and we couldn’t finish it. They are delicious and definitely great value. Service was great and the venue is very nice.

Hotel entry drive only approachable from one direction. Fairly isolated hotel, about 20+ minutes from town.

A well known wedding venue. Not easy to get to by public transport, the nearest bus stop is a good 10 minute up hill walk to the hotel. Need a car or taxi to get you there.

L. O.Had my son's Baptism gathering here today. Have to say from the beginning the day was amazing. I arrived before the event to drop off cake etc. I just dropped everything off and Liz looking after the event just took over!! We had the event in the Glanmire Suite where Liz and the team set up a kids section at the back of the room with toys etc. Everything was so we'll organised. We opted for finger food and it was arranged so well. We brought out own cake which they cut and served to us.
As being the mother of the baby they couldn't do enough for me and Liz was constantly checking in on me if I needed anything or if there was any way she could make the event even more perfect for us.
Would highly recommend Vienna Woods for a baptism/christening gathering. Well done everyone

5. Car Parking: The car parking is good as there are many spaces for the cars. It might get a bit tight if a wedding is on.
6. Others: the wedding venue area is fantastic. Iv had 4 weddings there and its always good.

The rooms are pleasant with some sweet touches like the plugs with USB and travel adaptor free.
The stunning location overlooking the river and the city is out of Cork and will need a taxi into town but ideal for parking and an event.
The rooms are large spacious and quiet with good sound proofing.
The bed is very comfortable with a lot of pillows.
My couple of bug bearers is that the wooden furniture in the room is a little cheap compared to the standard of the rest of the fixtures. The Wi-fi could be much better and less intermittent. Unfortunately there is no Spa or even a room with gym equipment, which is so massively lacking compared with other alternatives.
The food is above average for a restaurant, and the staff are very pleasant.

Lynsey (receptionist) was very kind, straight forward, professional and customer focused, thank you.
Complimentary water from well, which was in the room and beside the entry of the hotel, was a fresh and tasty nuanse.
Everything for Irish breakfast was done perfectly (not over or under done). Strawberries were like from own garden. A honeycomb at the breakfast was also a great idea - additional touch of organic freshness.
If you want a quiet place in style just few km outside of Cork, 'Vienna Woods' would be one of the top to consider.
C. B.We recently spent 10 days in the Villas ( #3) at Fitzgeralds Vienna Woods. They were wonderful . It was a four bedroom unit and each bedroom had a bathroom. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. There was good written material given to us with instructions on how to operate appliances and also about not running all four showers at the same time. All appliance were up to date and worked efficiently. It was very good value for the price.
R. W.Gorgeous hotel. Renovated rooms are beautiful. Warm owners went the extra distance to make our tour group comfortable when we got caught in bad weather and stuck for two nights. Staff was all wonderful. One little glitch with the Netflix in the room, but not a big deal. Overall I would definitely come back. In fact, overall I would like to invite the owners to my home in California. Just lovely.
P. A. C.Amazing stay! Reasonable price for a very comfortable and well decored room. The comfy matresses and pillows made sleeping a joy. The room itself has various amenities including kettle, tea cups, hairdryer, and ironing board. The bathroom includes an amazing shower head full of power and with different settings. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and nice. It does have a car park, however, for all the non-drivers, it is 20min by bus from Cork City Centre (Bus Station) and then 12min by foot. Next time I want to try the buffet breakfast for an extra €13 😀 the only downside would be that the kitchen closes pretty early (8.30pm) thus we missed dinner, but we were able to order from Just Eat and get it delivered to the hotel reception!
G. J.Upon arrival, we went up to our rooms and discovered that we could continue to hear conversations in all of the rooms in the vicinity. The televisions are old, bubble TVs that are finicky at best (remote did not work). The bathroom was pleasant enough but the tile on the floor is EXTREMELY slippery. Liked the soap dispensers and soft towels.
The furniture in the room is very outdated, although a sign in our room said renovations were happening in the future. Lamps were mismatched, as were tables and other furniture. Light switches are in odd places, hidden behind tables and such, making it difficult to figure out how to turn off lights. Our bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable and although there were 6 pillows between the two beds, we woke up with back and neck aches from the lack of support. Speaking of the beds, all rooms our party stayed in had a queen/full bed and a twin. No option for just one bed, which seems a waste of space. The twin bed was extremely loud and creaky.
Through no fault of the hotel’s, a car alarm went off in the middle of the night for 2-3 minutes right outside our open window (no A/C, which is typical, but the warm weather while we were here made it impossible to keep the window closed). Another member of our party inquired about a fan to help with the heat but were told they had recently purchased 30 fans and they were all already given to other guests. The same members had an opposite facing room whose view consisted of the garbage and boxes piled up from the hotel.
We had dinner at the bistro downstairs and were underwhelmed. Waiters seemed to have little knowledge of the food available, brought incorrect drink orders multiple times, and the prices were high for the food we received. It was also very difficult to charge our rooms for our food since we had 4 different checks. For a hotel that seems to cater to tour groups (as was ours, albeit a small one with 8 people) it would make sense to be able to charge checks to rooms easily.
Upon looking at the photos the hotel provides online, we were surprised to see much more modern rooms shown, giving quite a false image.
Bottom line is, if we hadn’t been booked into this hotel as part of our tour, and had instead booked ourselves based on online portrayal, we would have been QUITE disappointed. I hope their renovations provide updated rooms to future guests, but we won’t be returning.

P. J.Driving there at night when you don't know the area is dangerous entrance from the Glanmire road is not lite and the access when coming from Cork is very sharp. Also lighting coming up the road to hotel should have better lighting. Hotel itself is very good.

Could not fault anything with the exception of the mattress..... it was upside down so I had a very restless nights sleep as it was rock hard until eventually at 6am I gave up and got up only to discover that the plush foam side of the mattress was face down and I had spent the night tossing and turning on bare springs! I did inform reception on check out and Was told they would let housekeeping know that these types of mattresses are non-turn and are only meant to be rotated. I was equally annoyed with housekeeping as I was with myself for not realising sooner! No harm done but it kind of ruined an otherwise pleasant stay

The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful on arrival, but a bit less when we had an issue with our room (they were short staffed due to an event).
CONS:
We had some trouble with the electricity. A fuse blew and we had to wait for someone to come and check the issue - they were short staffed due to an event so it took a while. In the end we got a different room that had no view whatsoever.
B. S.The place itself is great, bar staff did a lot to let the place down though. Gave the groom a pint of stout in a Heineken glass and then were sending people in and out of places without a clue as to what they were doing. No care to what they were doing which was a shame. Bar man even gave out to me at one point for ordering a Guinness because he didnt want to wait for it to settle

D. F.Was worried at first sight as the main areas look a bit “dated”, but the room was recently updated with newer fixtures so quite nice. I was given a courtesy “upgrade” from deluxe room but not sure why as this didn’t seem any nicer than what I was expecting to be deluxe. Staff were overall pleasant but not overwhelmingly (basically what you should expect at this level, nothing over-and-above). Tried to sleep in late because I went to bed late but room was not very sound-proof. Could hear everything in the hall and even voices next door! So only got 5hrs sleep. Not thrilled. Then shower was lukewarm at best... again, disappointing! When I mentioned this at checkout the response was ‘hmmm we weren’t aware of that, I’ll say it to maintenance’ (note, there was no apology! After paying good money for the room I would have expected better customer care. I mentioned that him ‘saying it to maintenance’ did me no good, and he didn’t seem to care. Our relationship was over so he was done with me. Not happy about that - I felt ‘dumped’ or ‘used’ at that point. An apology would have cost them nothing, and I would have felt at least they cared. Lack of apology is costly. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

S. S.Road that leads to a hotel is a disaster. Our check in was late and we were welcomed by night porter after 25 minutes of looking for him all over across the hotel. Since it was late chek in he did not have our room numbers or keys. After a call to someone he got us a rooms and let us in with master key that we could not hold on, so every time when we wanted to get back into a room we would need to call him. Lights in the room can be switched on only with RFID card which we did not have so we had to use... wait for it... a LEAP card since it is based on RFID technology.
Rooms were cozy and clean. Windows are holding heavy wids of Cork.
This was executive room and there is smart tv in it. Cork is just 15 minutes drive away. Free wifi and parking included.
We had no breakfast so I cant comment on food, but if it is like service I wouldn't eat it.
3 stars because of lack of organisation.

Family wedding in Viennawoodshotel last week and had to say the Hotel, staff and food was 💯. First time bringing 2x Boy Toddlers to a wedding and they made it a breeze. So child friendly and welcoming 💒

The staff took such good care of us all evening, played interacted with kids, and all the wedding guests commented on throughout the day and night how friendly all the staff were. Not living too far away in Killarney but definitely doing a return stay soon.
