Just because they are considerate enough to have a kitchen and utensils for their guests to prepare meals and save a few bucks when needed deserves a 4 star. Abigail hostel is close to city center and has a welcomig feel that relaxes you as step in and stays with you till you leave. And did I mention they have free coffee/Tea🥲

Hostel in the middle of the city very well located. The staff was incredibly helpful even spending 1 hour to help me find a testcenter so that I could get all needed docs for my next destination. Emails are answered very fast. I will book again next time I'm in Dublin.

To be honest I didn't believe this hostel could result in one of the best in Dublin by far. I've been in most of them. Positive: coffee and tea all day, location, check in very early, bathroom in suite, and the best: lift! And the dinner area is in the entrance. Compared to many where you have to struggle with your suitcases! Also, the beds have stuff to plugg and light in every bed. And last but not least: the shower is amazing! It doesn't stop every few seconds as other hostels. The water is hot and you can choose the best temperature. Negative: I don't see many negative aspect really!! Go and see

For the price, I was expecting a little bit more. 1 toilet / shower for 8 people. Bad management of the bed sheets (you have to set up your own bed, and return the bed sheets yourself). Besides that, the staff was ok, the mattress was confortable and the check in/out protocols were easy.

Location was amazing, staff was friendly, free breakfast was good. However, you do get what you pay for at this hostel in that it didn’t feel the cleanest or the most updated of places. My friend and I stayed in a 10 person all female room and the bathroom situation definitely wasn’t the best (but that’s just because of the number of people I’d say). Beds were comfortable, each bunk had a shelf and outlets which was awesome. Lockers were underneath beds to lock up your stuff (with your own lock). No complaints, really!

Excellent location. I stayed here for two night on my own in a mixed room with a Brazilian Woman, a Turkish man and a group of young Irish bucks. Firstly, You get what you pay for. The rooms and beds are clean but the place is far from opulent, infact the walls of the rooms remind me of a child's bedroom. Our room had robots on the wall but people from another room informed they had graffiti decals haha. Perfect place to rest your head on your travels though so no complaints on that regard. I stayed in an 8 person bedroom, 4 bunk beds and the room had one an-suite and a shower. The shower wasn't in the an-suite but rather had its own closet sized room which was odd for the layout but useful when one person needs to shower while another needs to poo. The common area is like a canteen, with chairs and tables and a few vending machines. The place also provides a breakfast but I cant comment on that since I went elsewhere to eat. A large school trip of Spanish students were also staying there during my stay and they were quite loud and rowdy in the common area and the hallways, even late at night but thankfully once our bedroom door was closed most outdoor noise was completely muffled so all I had to deal with was the incessant snoring of my Turkish acquaintance in the bed across from me but that's to be had in any hostel. Speaking of my Turkish counterpart, he was quite the troublesome fellow. I got on well with the Brazilian woman in the room like a house on fire and we even added each other on social media but my fellow Irishmen were young country boys visiting the big city for the first time only interested in going on the lash so they butted heads with Mr Turkish man, who in turn was no angel himself as he smoked weed in the bathroom and was caught going through bags that didn't belong to him. I don't mention all of this to complain about it but rather to commend the staff on how they dealt with it. Someone else in the room must have complained because the staff gave me the option to move to a different room if I wished. So in conclusion, its a fairly typical hostel. The rooms are adequate, a fairly standard breakfast is provided, the staff keep to themselves but step in when needed and most importantly its clean.

Stayed there in a three-guest room and appreciated how clean it was and we liked the key-pad safes available for each person in the room. We ended up only using one bed because our room had a bunk and a queen-size bed in it. As one reviewer also noticed, the water was either really hot or really cold, and it would randomly switch during a shower, so beware! Breakfast was good and the location was amazing. Glad to have a refrigerator to store food. Sorry to not have parking as local parking was about €35/day. Staff was very helpful

Helpful staff. Slept well here. Kitchen is really small for such a large hostel but it didn’t seem to be a problem when I wanted space to cook, maybe bc we tended to cook our dinner late. Comfy beds. Surprisingly quiet. Rooms a bit cramped to move around. Nice large dining and lounge area. Super convenient location. Would stay here again.

I had a great experience here. This was my first time in Dublin. I stayed in a female only 6 bed room. The ladies were awesome and we all hung out the whole time. The staff was super helpful and nice. The room was clean. The beds had charging ports and a ledge that was convenient. Simple breakfast, main essentials covered. Great location. I will definitely go back! Highly recommend.

Great location. Great breakfast. Decent beds. Clean. Friendly staff. Good amenities. One down side is the noise. ALL night there were people shouting and running around the corridors. It was surprisingly very loud. Outside from 5-7 if you’re facing the back is again very very loud with the breakfast arriving on trolleys and rubbish pick up (I believe that’s what it sounded like). Bring ear plugs.

This place was okay for a short term stay but there's definitely room for improvement. For starters, I'm convinced they don't sweep the floors as there was so much hair everywhere. The knob to adjust the temperature and amount of water was akin to a puzzle and frustrating to deal with at times. I'm also kinda shocked that this is the first hostel I've been to where there's barely any storage space for your stuff. Their customer service could also be improved; if you have any issues with roommates, they're slow to respond. I had two roommates who soaked the bathroom floor with the shower and when I asked to have new bathroom mats and the soaked ones removed, they did give me new mats, but were slow to remove the used ones. The location is in a good location to shopping areas and transport (as the airport express bus left me less than two minutes away from the front door). However, some of the rooms face the front street where it's noisy and loud so if you can't sleep through everything, skip this place.

Toaster was rubbish. Staff weren't particularly friendly. Beds were okay. A few people from our group ran out of hot water at one point. But there's a kitchen and a big common area with sofas which was handy and comfy. Plenty of cereal for breakfast. I'd say it's fairly average for a hostel, perhaps I'd expect a bit more for the price but to be fair, it's smack bang on the cusp of Temple Bar. Doesn't get much more central.

Perfect location for a hostel! We really enjoyed our stay there. Everything was clean and breakfast were more than enough although we didn't have any cheese or ham, only jam, eggs and cereals - but plenty of it. Lobby/dining room was very nice, spacious and always some empty electricity plugs for our phones. Very nice atmosphere there + hostel works with one agancy they do free walking tours and amazing pub crawl for 12€. Really great place to stay.

The rooms were decent, they seemed clean, so did the shower and the toilet. However, the shower room was a bit tiny. Our room was located in front of the air-conditioning/ventilation installation(we didn't exactly realise what it was) and the noise was a bit annoying especially at night. The rooms were very warm, and even with the window open there wasn't much of a difference. The breakfast was plain but decent, although the vegetarian options were limited (we didn't ask if there was anything else they could give us though). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed only 1 night. Super cool place with amazing staff. Location was right in the heart of downtown Dublin so we were near the major attractions. Rooms are good size with lockers underneath the bed. Only complaint is the 1 washroom and shower per room. Can take a while to actually use it. Would be better to convert a room into a shower room.

Location is wonderful and close to the main attractions. The rooms are a very odd set up. There is a private bathroom in each room but no common bathrooms. So 8 people to 1 shower and 1 toilet is not a good time in the mornings. Staff don't seem super interested in assisting you above and beyond the usual. But they are polite.

Great location, very close to O'connell's street and Temple bar area and the Trinity College. The rooms were very clean and a toilet was provided. No curfew, 24h reception. What I would improve maybe is the environment at night, I mean there weren't activities at night, so if you are a solo traveler you might end up alone in the big living room. Breakfast was ok, mainly cereals, juice, boiled egg and toast and jam, price was very affordable, I'd recommend this acommodation

Well located hostel in Temple Bar. Rooms are small and there is not much space left for luggage - they do have place under the beds (for which you need to have a lock). The beds are OK. The toilets are in the rooms, and are in need of an update. Very friendly staff. Simple and OK breakfast. They have a luggage room and safe deposit lockers.

Location is great. Staff are ok and rooms are nice. The only thing about the room is they’re noisy af. There are lots of doors from the entrance to the room, and they are all so loud! It was impossible to close a door without making a huge bang. Bathrooms were not well cleaned. Breakfast also poor.. but free, so... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Accessibility/disability I got badly stuck in Dublin on Saturday night and a friend was able too put me up in this hostel for the night, when I told too them it was my first time in a hostel they were very nice and explained everything and were so kind , they said it was fine that I couldn't bring down the sheets and linens due too and helped me with heavy bags due too physical disability. The elevator is very accessible right beside the stairs. And the breakfast is so great, make sure you don't miss it! Made what could have been a horrible night into a relatively very comfortable experience. Tldr: If you have physical disability/use a walking aid, or have a invisible illness where you are not a wheelchair user at the time of staying here then it's really good and accessible I found! Thanks!

Hostel was good, alittle more expensive then I usually pay but it was worth the money. Continental breakfast from 7 to 10am. Shame there wasn't a cooked one. Genuinely lovely staff, use of the luggage room even if not checked in or you have checked out. Lots of offers on excursions and linked activities. Only thing we were disappointed with was the pub crawl - it was boring and all the drinks were watered down so majority of the group we were with were disappointed. The tour guide was lovely but when discussed with her she said it was out of her hands. Need to make it more entertaining for new customers. Hostel was clean and tidy and had a good crowd of people ranging from children's to OAPs all wanting a Dublin adventure. Overall happy, shame nearly everything we were recommended wasn't as good as promised. (Not the hostel itself though, this was as promised).

Great hostel. Got into a room with 12 beds. The toilet water was either freezing or very hot. So not the best of you want a shower or when you are brushing your teeth. The breakfast was great. I had a choice of different breads or toasted. Plain/strawberry yogurt and many choices of cereal. I met some amazing people along the way and I'm thankful Abigail hostel gave me the opportunity to meet these wonderful people while enjoying a game of monopoly.

The hostel is located nicely to access much of Dublin by foot. The rooms weren't too cramped even with 10 people in each. The ensuite bathrooms were also nice. The free breakfast was great, saving money if that interests you. It is cereal, toast, jam, yogurt, and juice. Coffee is also offered. The front desk is always staffed and willing to help. I was there during a heat wave and Ireland isn't quite used to those. The room was pretty warm as there is no AC. The window was kept open and as there are bus stops outside the smell of smoke and quite a bit of noise came in. That would be my one complaint.

Nice hostel, clean and in an amazing location, walking distance from everywhere!! Breakfast hasn't a lot of choice but is all you can eat and all included. En-suite rooms. The common area is not so big and accessorised with entertainment facilities but sofas and TV are available. Storage locker is only upon payment, in the rooms there's nothing to secure your belonging.

Absolutely love this hostel. Super convenient to get too, beds are comfy, the room I was in was quite large so there was lots of space for people to move around. The funniest thing about the room was the door to the bathroom didn't quite fit the frame so was prone to getting stuck (I got stuck about 3 times) and then one day another lady got stuck but for some reason there wasn't a door handle! Luckily I was still in the room so I could help her out but man the look the receptionists face when I told them of the incident was hilarious. Got her out and the mainanece guy fixed the door so it wouldn't get stuck again which was great! So worth staying!

The first time I came to Ireland, all places were full and I was running short of cash, someone suggested this hostel for me, walked over and met incredible staff members. The prices were fairly low and catered for those with low income like I and many others who would have had no shelter over their head. I would join a group of lads, males and females, majority being French. The night was considerably quite and felt awkward since it was my first time to sleep in a “mixed room”. But all was fine, nothing bad took place. In the morning we will eat free breakfast(choice assorted). Oh! The other thing which I think they need to work on is the bathrooms, ours wasn’t really nice at all. It was so terrible that I almost threw away. Otherwise I will give them 5star for accommodating me when I was almost stranded in a city I knew none- that I would forever be thankful for and their reasonable price

If it wasn't for the exceptional staff at this hostel, I'd probably give it a 4 rating. In terms of location, the hostel is in a GREAT spot right by the Temple Bar District and near a lot of bus different bus stops. I stayed in a room of 10 girls, and after a weird interaction with one of the girls in my room the staff was extremely helpful and moved me and my friend into a new, better room without any hesitation. The staff is happy to help you with any questions, tour bookings, and transportation to the airport and there is someone there 24/7. Though the complimentary breakfast is pretty simple, it gets the job done and saves you €6 elsewhere. Don't expect too much from the rooms, but it's clean and probably one of the better hostels in Dublin. Long story short - I recommend this place!

I like it. The room for 6 persons is a bit stuffy, at times you might feel overwhelmed by how little space you actually have. But I guess it is the payoff for a more or less housing at Dublin which is amazingly located. I had some trouble with the bed sockets, two times they didn't work and had to charge my phone at the lobby which was quite bothersome. The security is nice, doors to enter the hostel are controlled by the counter people so you won't find strange people roaming around in the lobby. Also, the lockers for leaving your baggage are so useful. 5 euros for a 24 hours secure storage! Allowed me to travel around Ireland without worrying about my stuff. Overall a nice hostal, AMAZINGLY located (although there a quite a lot of drunk people outside at late night because of the many pubs around the hostal), well connected for public transport and comfortable but at times stuffy.

Great location in the center of Dublin. I was able to walk to many of the attractions. It’s also on the major bus lines. The staff helped me get in the right bus. They were very helpful with towels, bar crawl, directions and other things too. The room was spacious. Bathrooms were ok. I would stay here again.

This hostel is such a good deal for the price, especially at a last minute rate. The breakfast option is food. And there are scones midday. Clean showers and friendly staff. The lockers are pricey but they are pricey everywhere. I'd definitely stay there again.

This hostel was great! Super clean, and we felt very safe being right in Temple bar, Dublin. It was also one of the few hostels I found it the area that had female only rooms, which my friend and I prefer when traveling with no male companions. The free breakfast was really convenient, it was simple cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt, and juice and coffee/tea; more than I was expecting! The only qualm I had was that the internet was very spotty in the dorm rooms, but worked just fine in the lobby, which has tons of seating! There was also only one toilet/shower combo for ten beds in our room, which caused quite a back up right before bed and in the morning. The staff was great! So nice and helpful. I 100% reccomend this hostel.

I loved abigails hostel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They were really knowledgeable about what to do, where to eat and the tours. There was even a new guy who wasn't sure and went out of his way to make calls and find out things for me. The night shift made was great too and was able to tell me when the bus for my trip would arrive because I was unsure and allowed me to have cereal before 7am. The 6 female dorm was nice, spacious enough for sure. The bed are not perfect but good enough and the pillow is kind of hard but im happy with it all. The duvet cover is awesome! There is a great panel on each bed with USB ports, plug sockets(English) and a reading light. Everywhere is clean but I've never been one to look in corners. The rooms are warm and there is a radiator. The shower was cold once when I used it at 5pm and warm the next night at about 8pm. I think it's luck! ☘ BRING A LOCK if you want to lock your things away for free. There are cages under the bed. You can rent a towel for a euro but I brought my own. There is no washing clothes facilities but there is a laundry place a few doors down where I will be taking my stuff. Breakfast is awesome. Cereal, toast, bread, boiled eggs, yogurt. I'm really happy with it. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk are available all day! There are two kettle abd everything is always clean and topped up. I use the kettle for my hot water bottle aswell. There is a kitchen and fridge but I haven't done any cooking here yet. Luggage room: its available to leave your things at your own risk. I only left a bag with my over clothes. There are security lockers for about €5 for 24 hours. Atmosphere: the lighting is a bit bright and canteen like. Even in the evening it's bright and I think it would be nicer to have it dimmer to create a nice homey atmosphere. Maybe its so people know they don't have to be quiet and go to bed though I'm not sure. There are loads of brochures for trips and places to go. There are GAMES, cards and a vending machine. Most of the seating is sofas and arm chairs which is nice. Its not that social, you need to really put yourself out there but I've met some great people but approaching and saying hi! There is a book stand too and toilets in the common area. The hotel runs two events which I haven't done yet, a pub crawl and walking tour. People say they're really good. I think the area is great but if you want to save money walk/bus out of the area a bit for cheaper food. I would definitely return! Enjoy!

Well this place says it's budget. But not so much. Pretty pricey for what you actually get. You have to make your own bed (usually that saves €7-ish but not here) and the shower closet is smaller than a shoe box. Location is great though.

Formal feel. The kitchen is off limits during breakfast, no option to cook for yourself. Rooms pretty standard for a cheap place. Vending machines for snacks / essentials This isn't really a place you can relax in evenings and feels like a cheap hotel (which it is) Ensuite not as good as it sounds, anyone needing the toilet at night is liable to make a lot of noise.

The hostel location is really nice, lots of monuments around, restaurants,... The kitchen and the livingroom is nice, people are nice but the building (walls, doors, ...) look cheap and a lot of people use both the kitchen and the livingroom at the same time. Abigails is a lovely hostel in a great location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable although it was very very warm on the inside but given that it was 23c outside it was to be expected. I would definitely recommend staying here and will more than likely stay here again myself!

We really enjoyed Abigail's hostel. We stayed there twice while traveling (the first was my first hostel experience.) There is good energy, and they have baskets and a luggage room. There is a lot happening just a few blocks away.

BLOODY BRILLIANT! The staff are incredibly welcoming, and are more than happy to help with one's every enquiry. It's clean, comfortable and secure, and a basic but wholesome and delicious breakfast is freely available to guests every morning. It's located right on the banks of the River Liffey, and all the attractions in central Dublin are within easy walking distance. The only things I could suggest as improvements are picky little details such as the addition of splades and large dinner bowls to the kitchen, a few little issues I had with a room door which wouldn't quite close properly, and a shower which was doing weird things with its water emmissions. To date, the best hostel I've stayed at so far...
