My sister ordered us a delivery on what should have been our wedding 👰🏽 🎩 but wasn’t due to lockdown. The food was absolutely delicious and the assembly is fun trying to create a master piece on the plate. Would give it top marks and a really lovely treat for anyone during this time. Thank you for making our day a little special x

Food and service fabulous.... Christmas parties in though with large groups out of control dancing in tables not what I wanted in a 5 star place

...serious location in town to stay in, super value for money, a brilliant base...
M. N.
Restaurant menu is not extensive but the food is very good. Upstairs there used to be sliding doors to create two meeting rooms; they have taken the doors out....using curtains does not work.
V. C.
Great staff, cute setting, not too loud, and of course great food.
D. S.
Loved this hotel! Really nice people. Quirky stairs are at first a pain but are part of the charm
F. G.

Easily one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Cliff Townhouse is beautiful from the inside out, has amazing service from the staff, incredible food in the restaurant downstairs, and is all around a lovely place to stay! We had a top floor park view with a plush king bed. We didn't want to leave because it was so dreamy! I hope to go back and stay there again. Highly recommend for solo travelers, groups of friends and couples!
C. H.
Amazing food and good service. I would definitely recommend trying the new basement cocktail bar "Urchin" for an aperitif before your dinner.
J. S.
Fabulous location and vibe. I was hoping for a better cocktail selection, but our food and oysters were incredible.
R. W.
Amazing sea food and service. Would recommend.

Restaurant only review:
Booked the Cliff Townhouse on a Saturday for lunch.
Decor is nice but the place is loud.
Lunch consisted of Afternoon Sea (selection of seafood based dishes). The food was maybe 4 star quality but definitely overpriced. No consistency in taste, some dishes (like the scallop ceviche or smoked salmon) were really tasty, others (like potted crab) were way below what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant.
Service quality was only worth 2 stars. Waiters kept changing (we we were served by almost as many waiters as there were dishes), they forgot an item on the menu which I had to end up requesting (thankfully, I had studied the menu well), and we also had to request water refills.
All in all a rather disappointing experience given the price (40€ per person excl. desserts and drinks). There are better option for the same price, or even less, in Dublin!
A. O.
Lovely restaurant and location and internal decor is superb
N. A. -.
Gorgeous little place in Dublin , the seafood was amazing , they have very cute events spaces if your interested in hiring and the Guinness bread is one of the best breads I have started in my life.
R. S.
Creative cooking, attentive service a great place for dinner. Recommend
P.
Perfect spot for a little romantic stay over, wonderful staff, delicious food
G. P.
Excellent location for a business launch. Staff and bar excellent . Canapes top class. Facility is contemporary and well decorated with period elements from original grand house. Bars and function rooms have plenty of space and close for afters to all the good things around Stephens Green area
в. е.
So pretty and the food is amazing
J. L.
The staff made the day they are professional friendly and nothing was too much for them.
k. l.
Stunning place. Located on Stephens Green. Staff lovely.
T. B.
Traditional seafood restaurant in the middle of Dublin. It was an okay dinner and I would recommend it for groups. The quality is good yet the service was not outstanding and the sole was not well cooked. Also, without going extravagant, you can easily go up to €100pp. I would expect more quality for these prices.
R. C.
Great food. Great service
a. l.
Best food in town (one of the best)
N. T.
Nice early bird menu but lacked substance
L. J.
Fabulous place atmosphere and especially the food
Y. M.
Excellant as usual. Food service and shaunagh on reception. Fab place
a. n.
Advertising did not make it clear that most of the rooms are accessed by lots of stairs. There is no where to sit and have a drink ie no rest area other than one's room. Breakfast served in the basement yet again more and plenty stairs. Breakfast on the 2nd day was good and service much improved as the youn gentle on duty then was on the ball. Unlike the day before not everything was offered to us disappointing.

Great food and service

Having loved our visit to the Cliff House Hotel in Waterford, a chance arose to try out the Cliff Townhouse on Stephen's Green.
It did not disappoint, a terrific location, delicious meal, and helpful staff.

Great Georgian dining room and excellent sea food

Treated to a 5 star hotel stay... service staff food ...ambience will make you feel like a movie star. Everything about this hotel is 5 star. Location in heart of Dublin city. Highly recommend to all.
D. H.
Excellent hotel in a great location, room 209 was lovely overlooking the park - and the Aircoach to the airport stops right outside.

Very hard to find fish as fresh as this restaurant and staff very good

Unfortunately this wasn't the special night I had planned for my wife. There was major renovation work going on which I was not told about until check in. If I had been told I would have rescheduled. We were put in room 210 and we had to wade through a building site to get to it. We were told the noise would stop at 5pm but it was closer to 7pm before drilling, grinding banging stopped. When we got into our room none of the sockets had power which in turn meant the heating hadn't been on for quite some time and the room was freezing. It took quite a while to warm the room up to a comfortable temperature. The emergency door right beside our room had no lock and it kept banging open in the night. I was woken 3 times and on each occasion I had to go to the door to try to wedge it closed. The work started up again at about 8.30 the next morning. When we arrived back to the hotel after a meal at about 10.30 we waited downstairs at the bar to get a drink. After about a 15 minute wait without anyone about to serve us I went to reception to let them know we were waiting to be served. We were told the bar was closed and we could go down to Dawson Street where there was plenty of places we could have a drink. We ended up going into the Shelbourne hotel next door. The next day I spoke to your manager(Nina) and expressed my disappointment. She was apologetic and gave me a goodwill gesture of €40 refund. While I appreciate the gesture I feel it does not make amends for a night that was spoiled when a simple phone call to me in advance to tell me about the rebuilding work would have let me reschedule the date for a couple of weeks till the work was finished. I did say all this to the hotel in the survey they sent me but nobody got in touch with me to discuss it which is a pity.

Champagne was nice, the food could've been better, the native oysters were amazing. Bhim was really nice
P. F.
Excellent food and excellent service.
E. D.
Beautiful surroundings, wonderful service! Highly recommend for functions.
J. L.
Excellent seafood meal in Dublin. Staff was professional and attentive. Loved the simple yet elegant decor inside. I would definitely recommend this place as a date night type of restaurant. It's a little more expensive than other restaurants, but what you're paying for is professional staff, very fresh ingredients, and perfectly executed technique.
We started with the seafood platter. My wife had the sole, I had the lobster, and my mother in law had the cod. All were prepared perfectly and tasted great. The flavors weren't too strong to mask the fish itself. Instead, the flavors they combined enhanced the natural flavor of the seafood.

Beautiful food and ambience.

Classic restaurant facing St Stephens Green. Good food, nice wine list.

When I booked for the 15th of December I was looking forward to a night of fabulous cuisine with special service. On arrival we Took a seat at the bar awaiting our companions and was asked repeatedly if we would like to take a seat at our table to the point it became most annoying. It was a very ordinary dining experience. The food although ok was far from a fine dining experience. A set christmas menu lacked any kind of wow factor in either taste or presentation. The 3 star rating reflects the scallop starter which was very nice and the very enjoyable white wine which helped my companions and I over look the mediocrity of the main courses. After requesting our bill we discovered that we had been over charged by a substantial €179.00 and had to send the bill back 3 times to have it corrected. It may just have been an off night for the staff at the cliff townhouse but the experience was far from the one we expected and much to expensive for what we received. They will have to substantially up their game and quality of the food to become any way near the kind of restaurant that charges these prices.

Great food and great location
G. S.
Good restaurant in a good location. Friendly, welcoming staff. Super sommelier who suggested a different wine to the one I was thinking of, great choice!
Food is good if not exciting. Shoulder of lamb cooked to almost fondant softness with huge flavour was the highlight of my meal.
Would have given 5 stars but for two things. First, lesser one, is the noise level - too many hard surfaces make it hard to chat.
Second gripe is that when I asked which cheeses were on the cheeseboard I was told ' a blue cheese, a goats cheese ' and some others.
Overall an enjoyable experience.

I was invited to try the Afternoon Sea (a seafood fest) and it was DELICIOUS!

We stayed here for 2 nights while in Dublin. The staff was amazing and the room we were in was elegant, clean and comfortable. You can walk to any attraction in the city from here. Breakfast was huge and delicious with options other than the full Irish breakfast. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest you request a room not on the park because this is a city and there will be street noise. We had a room facing the park and were fine but some might not like it. I highly recommend staying here.
D. K.
Had a wonderful meal in the main restaurant on Stephens Green. Top notch food. I loved the tuna starter best one ever bursting with fresh taste, watermelon, lime and tender tuna. My wife had the spiced beef starter an interesting but overly salty dish. Halibut for my main equally good. Desserts the pear tart was super. Excellent staff and so knowledgable about the menu
R. S.
Lovely wedding venue
D. F.
The cocktails here are absolutely fantastic and prepared by a highly knowledgeable staff. Make sure to try the Cucumber and Wasabi Martini!
H. B.
We have had the most spectacular night in cliff townhouse over looking st stephens green. The food was so fresh, cooked and presented perfectly. Ambience ticked all boxes and the staff must all know the same song as they all play the same tune expertly. Planning our next meal there already. Best regards holly & gary butterly.

So every now and again you have one of those, 'seriously, how did I not know about this place' moments. And I just had one. Maybe it's because it's on the Green, maybe it's because it sniffs of the kind of luxury that I usually try to avoid (given that I'm more of a down-at-heels drinking in a dive kinda guy) but I never thought that the Cliff Town House would be my bag. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Enough preamble; the cocktails rock. Very reasonably priced (€10-13) with high quality ingredients made by bartenders who really know their stuff. Drinking in the airy upstairs bar is one of the nicest spots in town, not because necessarily the decor is so great (a little heavy on the blue lighting) but because if you're quick you can nab a table on the itty bitty balconies and drink cocktails looking out over the green. And the previous reviewer is right: try the cucumber and wasabi martini.

Pure class in the heart of Diblin city. Well worth a visit A++

Very good calves liver. Friendly and helpful service.

Cliff house is always great for a celebration. Lovely layout and amazing decore. They always have a great selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian food. Seafood and oysters being their specialty. I will always recommend the scallops to start as , time after time, they are always perfect. Desserts are always gorgeous too and wine list is exquisite. During busy times service can be a bit slow and lacklustre but when necessary the staff ate always perfect and lovely ! Book ahead when possible. Bathrooms aren't gorgeous but nice enough.

Perfect place to entertain business clients in Dublin
B. M.
Flew to Dublin for St Patrick's Day and we had booked lunch here. Due to the weather we were delayed by an hour - the Cliff Townhouse were more than accommodating. The food was delicious and generous. The fish pie was a comforting delight but the rhubarb & honeycomb panna cotta was sheer heaven. The staff were absolutely delightful.

Lovely conversion I did find some bar staff rude

For a perfect stay in the heart of Dublin.

Service was quite scattered...our table didn't receive a full set of menus. Appetisers came at different times, and long wait before someone came to collect dessert order. Water refills were scarce. To be fair, it was a busy Saturday night and the tables were all full and hopping.
Atmosphere quite elegant and excellent. Aquatic themed, and view over St.Stephen's Green.
Location easy to get to, stairs up to restaurant. Below is Urchin, which serves more tapas like food. I recommend going over to the Shelbourne hotel (1 minute walk on same street) for drinks before or after dinner.
Oysters were good, fish cooked well. Everything quite filling.
Wine selection quite good, including a lovely white wine from Slovenia.

Dropped in here for cocktails recently. The upstairs bar is sparsley decorated but there's nothing wrong with that and it has a little balcony that looks onto Stephen's Green where you can sit while you drink you AMAZING cocktails. Oh yeah did i mention they make possibly the best cocktails i've had in Dublin? Well they do. Not been to eat there yet but will do soon.
V. W.
Super location on St Stephen's Green and a five minute walk to a host of shops, restaurants and historic buildings. This is a stunning Georgian townhouse full of charm and original architectural features. We had a lovely parkside room, with ample space, comfortable king bed and classic interiors. With a fresh and generous breakfast served in the stunnkng ground floor dining room, this town house is ideal for a weekend break or even midweek. We travelled with our 4 month old and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating. Great value

Very reliable, fine dining, on Dublins main restaurant strip. The seafood is excellent and the service is allways good, I have been many times and have never had a bad meal
J. D.
Fantastic.
O. P.
Justify their high prices by pretending to be more than they are. The food is good yes but not exceptional. The décor is again ok but it isn't majestic either. The service is just ok almost poor! The restaurant has high ceilings which is nice but it makes it very very noisy. Also I had reserved a big table on the first floor (confirmed by the restaurant two days before) but did not get it because it was being refurbished!!! No an apology. Said they would follow up the following day but never did. In summary, avoid this place, there are tons of better places in Dublin for the same price or cheaper.
