Our experience in Ireland has been amazing. We spent two weeks at EFL Ireland in Waterford, a charming city in the sunny south east of the country. We were delighted discovering its impressive viking inherirance. Our school was really close to a beautiful park and we had a wide range of restaurants, cafés and pubs nearby. We had three different teachers, which gave us the opportunity to listen to different accents. Our trips and excursions were really interesting: a great mixing of nature, history and culture. The best part of our trip: Irish people!!! They made us feel at home.

A true centre of learning excellence, in the heart of Waterford City, the first, oldest and most historically important Viking settlement in Ireland. Richard's knowledge, expertise and professionalism is incredible. I worked here for a few summers and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the job, from the teaching & learning, to the afternoon activities, and the day trips. I made friends for life here, in a wonderfully friendly, supportive and educational setting. Would completely recommend EFL Ireland to both students and teachers. A very enjoyable experience.
Thank you Richard.

I went to Ireland for two weeks.First, we stayed in Hookless which was a holiday homes. This place was comfortable, relax and very beautiful. After three days, we moved to Waterford where we spent the rest of the days. This city was small and charming. The thing I like the most is the kindness of the people who live here. In addition to this, we did different activities. For example, we visited the Arboretum in memory of John Kennedy which was beautiful and big. Besides, we visited Dublin which was wonderful and with different monuments to see. On the other hand, we have gone to English class with teachers from Ireland. The lessons were dynamic, fun and we have learned different things from this country. To sum up, this trip has been a great experience that I would like to repeat again.

Waterford is a nice town to stay. The activities and excursions are great although we would have need more time for the one day trips at the weekends. Frances, one of our teachers, is great!!

It was my first experience of being a group leader in Waterford. I was really impressed by the country, nature, friendly and helpful staff. What I enjoyed most was a surfing practice, a tour to the Cliffs of Moher and Dublin of course. I am looking forward to coming back one day and maybe work here - who knows?)

I visited this school as a group leader in July 2016 and had a great time there. The teacher's staff is fiendly and kind to both children and group leaders. The school Principal, Richard, is caring and takes part himself in after school activities. All the activities are informative and enjoyable as well. We went to Swiss Cottage, Cahir Castle, Waterford Crystal and even dogs' races ( which was quite an unusual experience for me specially) . In the end of the course children have a chance to show the final product of their language learning experience in the form of a performance on a real theatre stage. That's amazing! I was lucky to be in this place and recommend to visit it if you want to improve your language skills and enjoy the local beauties and culture.

IRELAND 2018, 2019
As you probably know, STEP organises every year some language exchanges through all Ireland. Well, I’m Haizea, a 15-year-old girl who has been twice in Ireland during one month with this company, STEP.
Firstly, I’d like to talk about my 1st year in Waterford and my experience there. I lived with a really nice Irish family, the Murphy’s. Robyn, who was 11, was lovely and we have so many good memories together which I will never forget. Shelley, her mum; John, her dad and Peter, her old brother, were kind as well. They actually did my time in Ireland much better and I’m so glad of staying with this family, they took care of me, they are fabulous.
During the week I used to go to Lady Mercy Secondary school. Teachers were lovely, they gave me the attention I needed and they helped me every time I asked. I could find out subjects I’ve never done before and I learnt things I never imagined I would learn. People were pleasant and I could improve my English properly. It was a great experience.
If anyone asks me about the time I spent in Ireland, I must tell them about the different activities we did. We visited lots of interesting museums such as the Viking Museum with the VR glasses in Waterford or the Leprechaun museum in Dublin. We also went to Cork and Kilkenny. I have so many funny memories from those trips and the people who I went with.
Those daytrips wouldn’t be possible without our coordinator, Richard. He took us to the cinema and he always came with us. He helped us when we needed him and he kept our opinion in mind to decide the activities which is quite admirable.
IRELAND 2019
This year has been completely different, because the family I stayed with, the school and the activities have changed even if I’ve been in Waterford on the same time of the year.
When I firstly met my host family I knew they would be great and nice. Mia and Kaitlyn, twin girls, have been so funny and kind and I could learn a lot from them. I met their friends and family as well, which was incredible. Glen and Amber, the other teenagers of the family, were also lovely. Adrian and Audrey, my host parents, gave me whatever I needed and they have been wonderful company during my stay here, in Ireland. I should say that they I’ve enjoyed so much with them, they are a great family to stay with.
One of the best things of those few weeks has been undoubtedly the school, Waterpark College. I actually learnt so much from the Transition Year, I have met lots of fantastic new people and so many nice teachers. Besides, I had the opportunity to go to Croke Park, to the cinema and I could even go ice skating. I’m so grateful with the school that gave me the chance to do those amazing activities.
Talking about activities I’d like to focus on the ones we did with Richard this year. They have been different from the last year, we went to Dublin, we went to the Smithwick's Experience in Kilkenny and to the Titanic museum in Cork. They were so good and I could learn about Irish culture a bit more. We also used to have free time to go shopping or go for a walk through the city centre.
Well, I’d like to finish saying thanks to all the people who spent these wonderful months with me, you made my experience absolutely amazing. Thanks to STEP as well, for making it possible. Thanks a million.

I spent two weeks un Ireland. Waterford is a medieval, viking and cute city whose streets are full of colours and kind people. The residence is not in the centre bur It is easy to go everywhere and also It is clean and confortable.
The school is nice and the teachers too but I have to say that Anthony's accent was so hard for me. I would like doing more dynamic exercises.
If you have the chance to visit Waterford, you must visita Bishop Palace and Waterford Crystal. And the Reg and Geooff's if you would drink a beer or spend a good time!!

I have been sending students to this school since 2009 and have had a great experience working with a Richard . The activity programme is always a success with the students and the lessons are great. I have had a lot of students who enjoyed coming back and some of them asked to be housed with the same host families .
Good luck with everything and hope to be back this summer again

One of my students from Catalonia, Spain spent a month at athe school in Waterford and had a great time. The host family were hospitable and friendly and I was very impressed by all the organisation. I would certainly recommend this organisation and have no hesitation in sending more students there.

Great English language school, unique summer courses and fantastic opportunity to improve English language skills for teenagers from around the world!!!
I had a chance to meet owner of EFL Richard five years ago and my two sons took advantage of his language programs since that time.
My older son Ondrej improved his English skills significantly (2 week Junior summer course + 16 weeks Academic program in high school), he was able to pass TOEFL and SAT successfully and finally he become student of university in USA, Lake Erie College, Ohio. Apart from that, he “grew up” quickly and he is more independent and self-confident .
Based on this experience also my younger son Jakub has got opportunity to stay in EFL . He is currently student of Academic Year program. He fully enjoy his stay in Waterford and in his host family (Liz O´Mahony) as well.
Both my sons had a chance to get to know different culture, habits and manners. I´m sure, their stay in Waterford will have a significant and positive influence on his future life and behaviour.
I can fully recommend to use service of EFL.
