S. A.It’s been such a long time since I came across such a little gem! We ended up in Food Guru today more or less by accident, as we were on the way to an entertainment centre in Cellbridge and wanted to have some food beforehand. I simply found my favorite Indian food restaurant.
The place might be tiny and easy to miss, but the staff, prices and quality/quantity of the dishes are so well worth it. This coming from a person who likes Indian food.
We ordered a mixed kebab, a Chef’s Special Biryani and a sweet chicken korma for my 4yo daughter. We simply wiped the plates. Which wasn’t an easy job as the dishes were HUGE! Everything was soooo flavorsome and fresh and packed with just the right amount of everything. It’s really hard to put into words how impressed we were and describe how tasty everything was. Not only that, but the chefs/owners were just amazing people as well, very chatty and accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy with their food. They were so attentive with my fussy eater and offered to warm up her drink as well and recommended suitable dishes for her. And to top everything up, prices were EXTREMELY good. We actually felt we got amazing value for money, which is rarely the case tbh, as most places sell bland food for a lot of money.
I simply cannot recommend the place and the people working here enough.
We’ve already texted all of our close friends to let them know about our great ‘discovery’ and we are already planning our next trip to Maynooth from Dublin just to have some more of their amazing dishes.

B. G.One thing f the best place to have food form I had a bad cold so I decided to try this place. The food made me feel like I am back home everything was cooked to perfection and was magnificent I ordered vindalo chicken which made me feel like I was walking in the summer streets of goa (one of my favourite place) and the tandoori platter was as best as it can be everything was moist and juicy and warm which helped to feel good and get better. In my opinion it is one of the best place if you like Indian food and definitely worth trying
S. H.So I my friends have been talking about Food Guru the last couple of weeks so I hade to try it for myself and i had to say I’m extremely satisfied.
I phoned up and I had to say I’m Extremely awkward when it comes to my food I don’t eat veg and very picky .
I gave them a call and any request I had was not a problem . The food arrived about 40/45 mins later and was restaurant quality had to say 5 out of 5 and the staff are extremely helpful and recommended a children's dish for my child .
They even have nice drinks like san pellgrino that you can’t get in most takeaways .

m. m.So I was really disappointed when you guys were closed but the food now is even better than before I ordered the Meal for two for me and my wife we got two samosa and one Lamb Korma and one chicken Tikka Masala and two Pilau rice it was amazing to say the least . Would be even better though if you guys could add on Desert.
N. S.Fab place! Best Indian around, and I have had many! Authentically cooked and good choice on the menu. Something for everyone! They have food from the grill, kebabs, authentic currys, chicken wings etc. Such variety! And all with great service along side it.

Wanted something full of hot spice and flavour and cant believe the phal actually was!!! Also had a tikka masala and so tasty, popadoms were gorgeous too, the food arrived within 20 mins and was hot, genuinely surprised and impressed on how good this was, the girl taking my ordered made the experience easy and will definitely be ordering again

R.I got pretty good mixed kebab on rice meal,meat was processed so price is a bit too high I think. If you compare it with one of the best kebab places in dublin "passion4food" I would still go to dublin, same price but with natural meat and much nicer naan:) But if you're not driving or want something local it's worth a visit, good website with 10%discount for first order.
M.Literally can't rate this place enough! Perfectly balanced flavours with a wide selection of kebabs, curries and some simple things like nuggets for the kiddos (big or small!), the service is unparalleled too! The garlic sauce is creamy and not overpowering, the real stay is their chili sauce which has a wonderful tomato base. The naan is freshly made and just right.

My girlfriend and I moved to Maynooth in June. I’m originally from Scotland and therefore well used to authentic Indian/South Asian food, but I’ve lived in Ireland for over 10 years and for obvious reasons there are way more of these restaurants in the UK. So I have constantly been on the lookout for good, proper Indian curries and most towns have at least one place selling them but I have often been disappointed because the chefs have had to buckle under the Irish palate and make their stuff too mild and bland in order to stay in business.
Food Guru opened just before we got here and we eagerly tried it out in our first week and we have been thoroughly delighted with everything we’ve tried (and we’ve tried nearly everything on the menu)
The staff are brilliant and very friendly.
Their curries are genuinely top notch and the rice is included in the price. My own favourites have always been Balti and Bhuna and Food Guru’s are fantastic - rich, thick and full of flavour. And we love their naan, the peshwari is perfect.
Their kebabs are just fantastic - easily some of the best I’ve ever had. We tried two of their new kebabs tonight, the salmon and the Afghani chicken and they were so good that I decided to come on and leave this review despite having already done one on our first experience through another account.
S.Bought three meals; Balti, Korma and Dinner Hoagie. Balti and Korma were good but Hoagie was awful. It was dead cold and came with cheese sauce which was vile.

The food is excellent, the portions are very generous, the prices are great, and the owner and staff are amazingly friendly. The owner always greets us with a big smile, and we have loved everything we've tried and always leave very happy. A great restaurant all around!

Fantastic staff, even better food, and prices to match. A super spot for the cash-strapped student or the last man standing from the local watering holes. Definitely a place I am glad to say I’m a regular. Recommendation: Kubideh Shish Kebab!!!!
