Great vibe and good food! Tapas dishes were delicious. LOTS of veggie options. Had the vegan sliders! Service was good too. Loved the beer garden in the back.
A.
Had a great time! It's an hidden charm that gives you a break from the city's hustle bustle. Wife and I got to spend some quality time together, first enjoying mouth watering dinner and then another glass of drink accompanied by live music!

One of my favourite bars in Cork, if not the fave. It looks deceptively small but hides a larger alfresco-like seating area at the back and another indoor bar. I believe there’s a second floor as well but haven’t made it there.
The prices are very reasonable with generous portions. I’ve had the mussels which was fresh and delicious, the potatoes were roasted perfectly and we gobbled up the entire bowl quite quickly, and the vegan sliders were surprisingly tasty with a wonderful flavour that I’ll definitely be back for more.
There’s plenty to drink, be it beers on tap, wines, cocktails or even winter warmers. My favourite is the hot butter rum (so deliciously sinful!).
B. M.
Wow, tapas awesome, staff service excellent, even some Laphroaig to close the meal out which is rare anywhere in Ireland, will definitely come back. Thanks guys👍👍👍
H.
Thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The combination of quality mixology and heartfelt banter made it a night to remember. Shout out to Dave & Steve!! Katelynn and I will be in to ye soon 💃🏾

At first, the facade looks a bit fade, but a hint of extravagance attracts your looking at it twice and gives you the idea to push the door.
The decor is pharmacy like. With some old prescription books and a huge display of wine and liquor bottles.
À la carte i decide to have a white Bordeaux and salmon pâté with toasts, served at the counter.
Have a look at this place. It’s a hidden jewel.
Nice staff too!
B. S.
This food is amazing. The mussels were ever so tender, served in a flavorful curry. An addition of rocket/arugula was the perfect pairing to balance the creamy spice with fresh bitter greens.
A. C.
Good quality food at very reasonable prices ,staff couldn't be nicer and BEST of all .....GREAT COFFEE 👌
J. a. t. B.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and attention to detail. Even the bathroom has displayes with old things one could buy in the pharmacy in the past. Prices are reseanoble and service is helpful and quick.
D. M.
Incredible tapas and cocktails. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and provided a wide variety of mocktails which my partner thoroughly enjoyed.
T. K.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, cozy location above the old apothecary, and most important of all, a fantastic collection of delicious custom cocktails at the full service bar.
C. M.
Went here for brunch. Food was below par. Bland and overcooked. They really didn't want the feedback either. Crab Benedict came without hollandaise sauce, eggs overdone and the accompanying potatoes were not even seasoned.
M. C.
Cosy Wine Bar in a vintage pharmacy setting. Wine was lovely as you would expect but the details highlighting the bars history as a pharmacy make it a great visit into the past. Wine with nostalgia.
K. D.
Greay little spot with lovely food and wine. Friendly and cosy atmosphere. The Irish nachos were very tasty! Quite a small space, at least in the front of the bar so better for smaller groups
L. F.
Atmospheric and quirky space. Well set up for Covid socializing with outdoor heaters. Really good quality tapas and extensive drinks menu. Would highly recommend for a fun night out.
I. B.
Great service, lovely atmosphere, good food and beer.

Actually came in here just for the mussels in garlic cream sauce as Quinlan’s was out of mussels. But wow was it a great decision. We had the mussels, the monk fish fillet (pictured) and the butter sauce scampi. All the food here was amazing. The monkfish had an amazingly Smokey and complex tasting tomato purée to accompany. The mussels were incredibly fresh (I believe they were fresh from the old English market?) and came with an amazingly light and well toasted rustic baguette. The butter sauce prawns also came with a great sourdough.
If one were to drop by this place, do try out their Changeling Pale Ale, a waiter recommended to me as his go to.
Desserts were great as well, We had the baileys cheese cake and lemon posset.
Staff were also warm and very friendly in taking our orders and attentive!
OVERALL GREAT, do try!
D. Z.
Nice place to diner out in the core of Cork. The atmosphere is stunning with a lot of stuff quite old and odd. Food is also nice but quality of some product could improve a little bit. Great job!
b. c.
FAB-U-LOUS. Top notch tapas style food served with panache and by extra friendly staff in this former pharmacy (or 'de chemist' 😂😂) Excellent whiskey selection in the bar upstairs. An absolute MUST VISIT
S. M.
Excellent food for a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly
R. W.
Friendly staff. Fast food service and delicious and wholesome food
C. L.
Great tapas and a good choice of wine. One of the spots to be in Cork!
K. T.
Food is 10/10 here the tapas are so nice. Get a couple and share them!
R. M.
Great food. Such a cool place
L. F.
Great spot, friendly staff, delicious cocktails 👌
C. F.
Great wine menu. The food is great, the outdoor dining area out the back is very comfortable
C. G.
A bit of a wait but Holy S**t that was some good food!!!
G. E.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious cocktails. Can't ask for much more than that!
S. Z.
Fabulous wine bar and decent tapas downstairs, and a great shabby-chic candle-lit late-night cocktail bar upstairs has opened recently. I've tried about half of the cocktails so far -they're all unusual and they've all been excellent. There's a whiskey and pear matcha one (served in a bowl) that's worth the trip there alone. Always buzzing but generally not too crowded. Good spot to take a date that is going well.
D. G.
Great food. Lively atmosphere. Wear something decent, we felt a little undressed in all honesty. It is a slightly upmarket establishment. The downsides were the higher then usual price of food and also the loud open space. Not ideal for a quiet gathering.
S. M.
I visited recently with my wife Una and ordered the cheeseboard. Taste was good but the texture was the real standout for me, sublime. Just wait till I tell the guys at the yacht club! The negative however was the music was too loud, perhaps a change from the Gypsy Kings would be fitting also, its not 1991 anymore!
N. S. (. N.
Really nice pub/restaurant serving craft beers and tapas at a very reasonable price. The food is very good, breakfast or good tapas to share over a few beers. Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely historic setting. Great setting for good beer and a catchup without overly loud music!
A.
The food! wOw! The portions seemed generous for the price. My friends and I shared four different tapas which all had such unique flavors and were really tasty. Despite the place being full when we got there, we managed to sit outside and were still able to order food by going to the bar to do so. We had such great service throughout the evening! Also, we made a dog friend — I need to bump my rating but where’s my 6th star at?
M. F.
This is one of my favourite places for lunch when I'm in centre of Cork. It's an old pharmacy converted to a pub / restaurant. All the old parts of the pharmacy exist, I'm not sure the walls have been redecorated in the last 100 years, shelves. On entering there is the bar and tiny kitchen area, then an old security area like a jail, which now has seating, then a larger seating area which has a safe on the wall, or doors for it. Shelves full of old photography stuff, the days before digital. Saying it hasnt been redecorated sounds dirty but it isn't, lighting is dull but atmospheric, well worth a visit. If you stay to eat, menu is reasonably priced. I always eat the beef or the coronation chicken sandwiches, ( allergies limit my choices) but friends have enjoyed other dishes. Staff are always friendly. Some local brews available but as I'm usually driving I tend to stick to mint tea.
O. N.
Arthur Mayne's Pharmacy is a great location. They have a good selection of Irish whiskies. They serve brunch and dinner. The meals are of good value.
There is plenty of seating available. It is wheelchair accessible and friendly. However, when it gets busy it becomes difficult to manoeuvre around. There is wheelchair accessible parking nearby.

A.
Best for wine and tapas in Cork City!
F. D.
Wandered in there tonight, was really delighted when UB40's Red Red Wine was playing. All I look for in a wine bar 5/5
S. M.
This was after a fair few drinks elsewhere and to be honest I'd just as easily have gone for a burger but so, so glad my wife was making the decision. I had the meat platter and a glass of wine before getting the bus home. I fully intend to start the night here on my next visit.
D. M.
We went here for food very late on a friday evening and they still serve an excellent full menu. A very good atmosphere at that hour of night and very helpful staff to explain the format. Full bar next door at the bar which can be brought to the eating area. A good mix of people and an interesting decor due to the history of the venue as a pharmacy
L. D.
Great atmosphere, wine and food. Also good for a quiet beer. One of the only places open late in Cork without loud music so great if you want to be able to have a conversation after midnight!
D. H.
Nice cocktail bar hidden above the main bar. Great views of the street below from the large windows. the old style decor adds to the feel of the place. Cocktails arent bad either.
a. b.
Favourite Tapas spot nice range of local beers
m. p.
This place was really cool. It was an old pharmacy turned into a bar. It had all the old pill and glass bottles all over the walls. And on the top floor they had a cocktail bar, where I ordered a old fashion, excellent!
B. M.
Was here for the forst time about a week ago, it did not disappoint, the food was amazing, and the wine choices were out of this world, we arrived in at 9.45pm and they stop serving hot food at 10pm however our waitress jus said she was eager to get our order in ASAP before the kitchen closed otherwise it would have only been cheese boards etc. I found it to be great value for money and will be returning soon.
E. D.
A great spot to have amazing tapas and a few drinks. Food is incredible, prawns and goats cheese being my favorite. Cosy and great atmosphere especially for dates. Well worth a visit.
N. W.
Afternoon visit with my mam based on a friends recommendation. Got a salad and we shred halloumi fries and cheese breads. My mam got the chicken satay which she said was a little bit dry but overall a great little place. Loved the old bottles and pharmacy cabinets
M. D.
A nice place for tapas with a wide selection and generous portions. The arancini are very tasty! The heated outdoor seating shared with crane lane means that you can also choose drinks from there if they have something specific that you want.
K. B.
When you enter this venue and look closely behind the counter, you'll see items like sun tan lotion and over-the-counter painkillers entombed behind glass cases. Then it'll hit you, "this used to be a pharmacy". So the old stock has been cleverly kept to retain some of this historical significance of the site. The bar itself is connected to the well known crane lane and in my opinion is a better spot to sit and chat if you tire of the crowds in crane lane.
I. D.
A fine establishment, good selection of beer and excellent service. Could perhaps do with some more vegan options on the food menu, but as the music being played is always decent, this can be overlooked. Upstairs is great for late night continuations of inebriated conversations.
J.
One of my favourite bars in Cork City! Lovely cosy atmosphere and gorgeous food! Try their halloumi fries! Absolutely delicious! Staff are always friendly also!
M. D.
A great wine bar with a nice food menu. The atmosphere is also amazing. They could do with a better non-wine drink selection though. Definitely worth visiting while in Cork city.
П.
Tea was very nice. The eggs Benedict were over done. But over all ok. Charging extra for tea. ? And bringing a breakfast to over €12. Can get better in the city for €10.
C. C.
Great food and drink. The waitresses were so attentive and everything we ordered came quickly.
L. T.
Cosy, candle lit atmosphere. Great for a romantic date but equally popular for a night with the girls. Extensive wine selection and delicious tapas...although the menu is not very suitable for veggies
L. H.
One of my absolute favourite small pubs in Cork! Set in an old pharmacy, you can spend ages looking through all the old medicines & cosmetics they have in display while you sip a drink and tuck into their delicious tapas boards!
J. R.
Unassuming exterior hides a gem of a place inside.
The tapas menu is very good and filling, the wine list is very good too and the enomatic system makes sampling wines that much easier.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and unlike other "trendy" places don't feel obliged to drown the place in loud music.
A. G.
Arthur Maynes has a large wine list and good bar food in a fantastic unique setting. Staff is very friendly and helpful. One of my favourites in Cork - highly recommend!
S. R.
A tad overpriced. Pro tip: Do not use the tap in the Men's bathroom, it will scald you.
P. H.
Go upstairs and enjoy the great ambience
D. M.
I've eaten and drank in their Dublin pub of the same name in Donnybrook so thought it worth checking out the original in Cork.
Little gives the place away on Pembroke Street save for the old Agfa and Fuji signs on the street.
There's an old pharmacy feel to the place because it used to be one, old bottles, instruments and handwritten dispensing notes. A small, open kitchen with a friendly chef fills one side and plenty of seating with low light and candles provides plenty of room for couples and groups of friends.
I came in here for a bite of food at lunch and wasn't disappointed. I went for the breakfast burrito - it's got smoky bacon, potatoes, cheese, eggs, a floury bap and hot sauce. Great.
This made for a perfect alternative to the usual lunch time fare of burgers and chips or a traditional fry.
Staff are friendly and efficient and a fair few locals were eating here as well as visitors to the city.
An evening menu is served until 01:30 seven days a week.
J. D.
Former apothecary. Great, varied drinks menu, cool vibe.
J. M.
Love this place, the interior, the wine list, the old apothecary cabinets with bottles and other quirky things from way back when. The food is amazing too. Enjoy!! A must see
S. G.
Super cozy & had delicious food! Recommend when visiting Cork!
C. O.
Awesome design and vibe but I was honestly disappointed that such a place didn't have any cocktail offerings. Perhaps I should have known better in fairness, it is after-all a wine bar. But to me wine and the option of having a Martini or Negroni should go hand-in-hand.
J. W.
Had a really amazing prosecco and my friend vicky had a Baron De Ley Red... only to get chatting to the distributor to Arthur Mayne's. Good on Kerry Man Donie for not only complimenting our style but he was a super gent getting us to have MORE DRINK😂 Was a treat to meet Cliona the owner of Arthur Mayne's and it was a fab experience. Her staff are polite and on the ball and the food was impeccable. Our eyes were bigger than our heads. This is very much a sharing type of menu and the portion sizes huge and the food was unreal. I think there should be an Arthur Mayne's in every county - I loved the old style pharmacy and the dim lighting and warm feeling inside. I would come again:) - Many mnay thanks for your hospitality, definetly will be back again.
👌😎👌
P. B.
Just brilliant. Make this a stop on your your night out. Old pharmacy now serves drinks and food. I thoroughly enjoyed it here. Small but a cracking atmosphere.
W. K.
From the outside it looks like an old school pharmacy (Drug dispensary for US readers), inside its a public house and tapas bar. Great food, very filling and, possibly accidentally, not a bad vegetarian selection.
Crowed most evenings, and since the bar has a back entrance on to the smoking area of the Crane Lane Theatre, I understand that the Tapas Bar part stays open to cater for giggers, theater goers and clubers from Crane Lane itself.
J. s.
Pretty unique atmosphere for a wine bar set in an old Pharmacy where all the original counters along with their jars and bottles and drugs' recipe books have been kept as such. Initially it was all about cheese and cured meats plates; which have always been of good quality and decent value for money ; recently the Owners hace decided to tap into the lucrative Tapas options, well it is not bad but do no expect any spanish treats of sorts, rather bite size plates of dishes like duck spring rolls and serano croquettes 😀 Relatively intimate size-wise the overall ligtening being kept fairly low along with the alcoves all the while the end of the bar leads to a direct connection to the much livelier Crane Lane where pretty much every nights of the week live gigs of all sorts are taking place and where the beer aficionados will feel more at ease. These features combined togetjer overall makes Arthur Mayne's an ideal date night place any days of the week.
M. B.
Great choice in wines and a very hipster place for drinks. When central you try to find value for money and with the over all experience I felt it was mid range prices with good experience hence the 5stars
A. D.
It’s a great tapas bar: cosy and warm atmospere in a old Chemist shop.
Lovely sharing boards and good wine’s selection.
It’s a bit pricy however it’s worth it if you wish to treat yourself!
K. S.
Like the place. Downstairs is pub with wine bar. Nice quick food like calamari, patatas bravas, cheese board, etc. Something for any taste. Upstairs cocktail bar!
K. G.
Lobe this bar. Beautiful food and a great atmosphere. Perfect place for some food and wine before heading into the Crane Lane for music
B. S. L.
Absolutely brilliant, I was taken back to being a teenager again, I saw my favourite fragrance, Norman hartnell would love to spend another day just looking around at cosmetics and fragrance from my younger life, when the choice was limited
L. U.
Love it! Good and tasty food. Cheese and meat table is a good option for sharing and not super expensive. Little bit crowded but staff always happy to help.
K. H.
Superb, authentic old world cork wine bar pub with atmosphere and late night appitizer stop for tasty bruchetta etc.
C. O.
We went upstairs and while the music was a little too loud, the atmosphere clientele decor and drink selection were all excellent. A gem of a place, even better than the ground floor and all the charm of the Hi-B
L. F.
Great food, cozy atmosphere and great outdoor space. Good and attentive service!
E. C.
Quirky little wine and tapas bar, a converted pharmacy in the centre of town, connect directly to the Crane Lane. Great place for an early bird, or simply a quick bite...recommend a visit.
D. B.
Arthur Mayne's is a cozy and unique bar close to the post office in Cork city. Very attentive staff and a great wine selection make every visit a pleasure.
S. F.
Great pub, nice service & lovely food especially the platters!
P. L.
A charmingly dark and quite throwback to a simpler time. This place has all the appeal of the roaring 30s with a modern cocktail menu for the contemporary generation
A. C.
Very good service. Waiter very nice n friendly. Enjoyed the iced coffees.
L. T.
This bar is really, really cute. It is dark and mysterious as you go further into the building. We stopped for a drink. The tapas looked really good, though!
b. b. b.
Arthur Mayne's is a favourite spot of mine to visit each time I return home to Cork. The wine menu is great and the setting even better. When visiting today with my sons aged 8 and 4 the experience was awful. After spending €70 on a round of drinks a female staff member ordered me to turn my phone down ( which my son was watching "Thomas The Tank on quietly). Both my son and the device were barely audible !!!.
l. b.
Nice and cozy place. Food is good, not amazing, but with great value for money. On the second floor there a cute and little cocktail bat
F. C.

Awesome wine bar with a really cool aesthetic. The rooms of the old chemist are lined with dusty bottles and handwritten prescription books from back in the day.
Obviously, the selection of wines is great, with the notable exception of a lack of a decent pinot noir.

(Translated) This restaurant surprises when you see its facade and realize that it is not a pharmacy as it appears. In fact it was for a long time and they wanted to preserve the essence.
On the outside you find a shop window as a small museum with old pharmacy items.
Upon entering you can see that the aesthetics and original distribution of the pharmacy is preserved, including the counter that today serves as bar counter.
With an interior terrace and several tables spread throughout the premises, which makes it cozy and very appropriate for a meal in a different place.
As for this, the exquisite food, dishes with quality products. A varied letter while not very broad, which makes it easy to choose. Do not stop to be advised by the recommendations of the staff, very attentive and nice people.
Do not forget to leave a good tip, they deserve it.

(Translated) We have to wait, especially on Saturdays, but it deserves good food at average prices, so not very expensive

C'è da aspettare, soprattutto il sabato, però merita, buon cibo a prezzi nella media, quindi non carissimi

(Translated) My favorite address! This old pharmacy has kept traces of its history! A subdued place where you can admire the miles and a vintage treasure. A great wine list, cocktails and local beers! If the ground floor is complete, go upstairs, it's just as neat!
