Unique establishment and a focal point if the Victorian Quarter in Cork City. The atmosphere in here is second to none and the selection of whiskey on offer will suit everyone. Expect plenty of lively conversation and good craic in here

Starting from the outside with a great little outdoor area for smokers or nonsmokers alike to have a look into the day to day, night to night hussle and bustle of the Victorian head quarter Mc Curtain st. With such great food on the street itself, the shelbourne bar embraces that in every aspect and let's you order food to have while you "sup" on a pint of there craft beers, stouts, lagers and even a whiskey or gin. They've a huge whiskey collection over 120 bottles of whiskey to be served up with a smile from the bar staff. Also there ever increasing there gin list and tonics all the time. Whilst you enjoy your delicious food with a drink, you can watch any game that's relevant on the big screens. There's small screens aswell for the not so lucky fans of the game that can't watch there game on the big ones. All this can be done with a beautiful fire blaring in the back round keeping you nice and toasty during the cold months. Just adding that little something to the place. There's Alot more within the bar itself but then again I'll leave that to you to find on the walls and hidden gems of history around. Toilets are up stairs so keep that in mind when you take a tasting tray of whiskeys to your table.

City centre location, great atmosphere and friendly bar staff on Saturday night. Parking is difficult, as Everyman Theatre next door make available spaces hard to find. Recommended.

I have lived in Cork all my life and can't believe this was my first time in the Shelbourne. Such a beautiful place, a cosy snug and a roaring fire. The whiskey selection looked amazing. Friendly staff to add to the experience. Might have been my first time but definitely won't be my last:)

This place has a selection of 360 irish whiskey. Enough to come once a day for a year and never drink the same whiskey! The staff has a pick of the week and a pick of the month which helps you tremendously to not drawn in all this golden liquor which shines like jewels in the shelvings on the walls of the pub. Ask for Philip (whom is the owner and the president of the chamber of commerce) if you want more insight on the city of Cork. The fireplace makes super cozy! Lovely place and lovely peole!

Everytime I visit Cork, I walk in here. The pope may kiss the ground upon arriving to a country, I walk into my version of heaven. Summer or Winter The Shelbourne Bar delivers instant joy at the opening of the door. On a very miserable rainy day last week I stepped off the train and headed straight to Mac Curtain St, the blazing fire and Christmas decorations met me. The people who work here are so welcoming, efficient and make you feel at home. I sat by the blazing fire and slowly dried off. A Guinness was called for and after a 2 and a half hour train journey I had to have their spinach and celery soup, accompanied with brown bread. It's a body hug, soul calming kind of place. The twinkling beautiful lights, log fire, local conversations in that wonderful Cork tone warmed me. The choice of whiskeys in glass cabinets is endless and cute little snugs for cosy private meetings are like a grown up Santa's grotto at this time of year. The bar is in the middle of the pub, so the bar tenders have a 360 degree view, everyone gets attention. The ladies toilets are so clean and spacious. Some may say you should judge a place on their loo. On my quick visit to Cork, I returned 5 hours later after a busy day, on my way to catch the train, I popped in and had a baileys before my departure. Local Cork characters chatting and telling jokes and quietly singing along to the music. Waves and goodbyes sent me out into the rain once again as I left. Make it your first and last place to visit in Cork City.

I have been there a lot during my vacations and I cant complain. The food at lunch is great, you can get food from "The Fish Wife" delivered there and I fell in love with the huge Whiskey menu. Might get a little crowded in the evening.

We had our company christmas party here. We were given a fairly cramped area that was totally unsuited. The toilets are in fairly poor condition also. The finger food was mediocre and the pizza we were given was a poor imitation of a traditional Italian pizza. They do however have a great selection of craft beers and the staff are very professional and friendly.

Avail of there food offers with Local businesses like novecento an artisan pizza house and the fish wife. The shelborne lets you dine inside ir outside whilst you wash it all down with a draught beer, cider or cocktails. Great staff with a friendly smile, such as the main notorious two within the bar. Amazing atmosphere will kick off your stay in cork. Toilets are upstairs so it's not wheelchair friendly. Enjoy Cork and keep an eye out for the shelborne on your travels.

(Translated) Great pub with bar in the middle so you can walk around. Pub is not very big and decorated with whiskey, whiskey and whiskey. More than 200 in stock (from Euro 5 to 395 per glass), most of the stock in cupboards in the wall. So this is the right place for a good whiskey. Pub has no kitchen but cooperates with Italian neighbor (order at the bar). However, we opted for the Fish & Chips across the street (Fish Wife). Only / conditions: Eat on the terrace (not indoors) and consumption is mandatory. I liked fine because the fish was delicious (and was even brought) and after that you are naturally thirsty. (Original) Geweldige pub met bar in het midden zodat je een rondje kan lopen. Pub is niet heel groot en aangekleed met whiskey, whiskey en whiskey. Ruim 200 op voorraad (van een Euro of 5 tot 395 per glas), de meeste voorraad in kasten in de wand. Dus voor een goede whiskey zit je hier uitstekend. Pub heeft geen keuken maar werkt samen met Italiaanse buurman (bestellen aan de bar). Wij kozen echter voor de Fish & Chips van de overkant (Fish Wife). Enige / voorwaarden: Op terras opeten (dus niet binnen) en consumptie verplicht. Beviel prima want de vis was heerlijk (en werd zelfs gebracht) en daarna heb je vanzelf dorst.

While the pizzas were delicious, the wait is still long.
