S. S.This is a absolute gem of a Hotel! What was originally suppose to be a 1 night stay turned into 3 night one due to the ambience and fabulous food at the Chester Beatty! The rooms are immaculate and tastefully furnished but the greatest asset to this hotel is the fantastic staff who are wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. This is my 3rd visit here and it never fails to impress. I highly and unequivocally recommend this establishment!!!🏆👏👏👏

A modest entrance leads to the heart of Ashford village. With accomodating staff and a hearty feed, the Chester Beatty was the best way to finish a day of hiking.

Service is always so friendly, great vibe inside especially when busy, has a real locals feel to it but welcoming to all-comers like myself not from the area. The food is delicious, and dare I say it the best tasting Guinness I've had in Ireland. Can't wait to return.

A. K.This is a world class family-run hotel/bar/restaurant that makes you proud to be Irish. We loved it and will be looking at an excuse to come to Wicklow so we can stay again.
The staff are extremely friendly, hard-working and professional. We had steaks which were delicious and reasonably priced. Compliments to the chief!
The hotel rooms are classy well-designed and spacious while the breakfasts are quality; you can order whatever you like from the menu rather than that pre-cooked buffet 'breakfast' nonsense that so many hotels offload to their guests.
The bar is busy, the Guinness is good and I can't think of anything to complain about.
J. P.Food was great. My husband and I had fish and chips. It was delicious, portions were great and the fish was meaty and not greasy. Food was hot and staff were cheerfull and eager to serve us. They checked on us a number of times to make sure we had everything we needed.

L. S.Lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. I had the chicken wings and if I'm honest I felt quite guilty afterwards. I felt like I had taken part in a chicken genocide. The amount of wings I got was savage. They were lovely too. Wife and kids enjoyed theirs also. Highly recommend this place.

S. W.Beautiful family-run hotel situated in an ideal location for touring the county of Wicklow that is truly the Garden of Ireland. Bedroom spotless - the bed was so comfortable - I would stay in it for a week !!! Fabulous freestanding bedroom furniture of very good quality. The staff were very professional, friendly and attentive - would go that extra mile to ensure you are having the best experience possible. Menu was very varied with the food being of very high quality.Top marks to Mari and Padraig and their dedicated team. Would I return - most definitely !!

Very nicely presented but need more seasoning. I had grilled goats cheese & beetroot salad. Fresh & tasty, next time I would ask for no bacon lardons. Child had sausage & chips. Our room was very tastefully decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was the cleanest I've seen EVER and the breakfast was very tasty. I would highly recommend the Chester Beatty Inn as a place to stay.

We did try booking but were told they were not taking bookings for that day. Although it didn't seem too busy while we were there. My advice is to book early.

F.Dropped in for lunch midweek 8th of Nov and met by nice friendly staff. Had roast beef on the menu and quizzed our server about it and she claimed "you will get the best roast beef ever" All i can say is some people are very optimistic. Smallish portion with two very thinly sliced roast beef. I think i'm too used to Dublin portions ?
However all the fun started with desert. Asked for warm apple pie and loads of custard please. Server said "no problem" However it became a problem because what arrived was a very small drop of custard in a small jug. I never noticed this until the server had gone, so had to try and find someone to rectify the matter. Found a server and again "no problem will get you some more" Waiting and waiting for the custard and when it arrived the "Warm apple pie" was not warm anymore. Grrrr Found server again and complained. They offered to change it and i accepted. It was nice and warm and plenty of custard....at last.
Now the place was not mad busy so how are they going to cope if they were? If Chester Beatty Inn get there act together this could be a very good restaurant, because it ticks the box regarding comfort, staff friendliness, good clean loos,ambiance, etc

Two other couples dined with us, and, as we are all from the states, we could not believe the excellent meal and the more than reasonable cost! We wish the Humby family the best!
