Home for the holidays from Boston and popped in to eat a few times with my parents. The food and service were fantastic every time. The quality of the food is next to none, a testament to the local suppliers Sharon uses. By far the best restaurant in Carlow.

We were a bit put off as we entered the riverbank resturant as it looked like we had entered into the kitchen. It was very untidy looking knives and serving spoons hanging. But the food was well presented and tasty. The menu itself had a good variety. The potato salad and coleslaw and salads were fresh and home made. Pity about the decor and clutter.

Really good wholesome food. Well cooked, well presented and service was friendly, helpful and efficient. A 3 course meal for less than €30 is excellent value, particularly when it offers Monkfish as a special of the day. Well worth a visit.

I had lunch here twice and both occasions the food was very food. The chicken curry and the deep fried brie was very good. The service was excellent and staff were very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this for lunch or dinner. Varied menu so something for everyone. I will be back 😋

Lovely food ,I had the ham hock with poached eggs as a starter ,the fish as a main and lemon pie as desert,amazing combination of tastes, im watering at the mouth thinking of this....I'd dare anyone to try the same and come up with better words to describe the feed I had last Saturday night.... Fantastic visit to this restaurant on the banks of the river barrow. Lunch was excellent and served efficiently.

Just back from a large family meal (10 adults 8 kids), absolutely beautiful food, large portions and fresh fish. All starters came out together and hot, all mains came out together and hot. Staff were excellent and the owner even came out and educated the kids on monk fish 🤣. I can not recommend this place enough!, if your in the area and looking for fresh tasty food at a reasonable price get in to the Riverbank restaurant.

Lovely clean place. The food is beautiful and the service is friendly and helpful. I was brought here for dinner on several occasions now and love every visit. Upstairs has a gorgeous view of the river which is a picture all seasons of the year 🌷☀️🍁🎄

This is a great wee restaurant, called in to see if there was any Gluten free options. The woman was very helpful and friendly, rustled us up a few lovely tasty meals which were very reasonably priced. Would visit here again if in the area.
