B. W.Very traditional Italian , you feel like you’re in a little slice of Rome. The waiters are a tad lost but the hosts are sharp and have a very well run place. The food is lovey and very reasonable priced, 4 adults with drink, coffee, mains all for around 25€ each.

Once I went with my friends without any reservations after a long tiring day of hiking but the staff was kind enough to give us a table for an hour. The food was very good and the taste is amazing ! Went to eat here with the family on our staycation this past week. The food was delicious however the atmosphere was very uncomfortable. You could notice that the staff were working very hard to meet customer needs with one being visibly upset at the managers treatment of their work. The manager had only 4 staff serving about 20 tables outside and multiple tables inside of about 4/6 people. Which myself and few others sitting around could not believe!! While businesses around the country are adhering to government regulations this manager put his greed over the health and safety of his staff and customers and sat table of people inside! I spoke to the manager regarding all of the above and needless to say he didn't seem to be bothered. I would have gone back every night as my children and I loved the food but I definitely won't support the treatment of staff nor do I feel safe as Covid-19 health and safety regulations aren't being met. Absolute shame highly recommended 💯💯👍💯💯👍👍

K. B.This is a well established restaurant in the heart of the city . It's the type of place to go if you feel like good honest Italian food. The owner is a really nice guy and the waitresses exude that typical warm Italian personna we associate with this Mediterranean country. The restaurant doesn't baulk at having younger children and in fact welcomes them, which in my opinion is something that any good Italian restaurant should do. The wait time is small and the prices are reasonable, and most important of all the food is very tasty. This place is the ideal spot to grab a tasty afternoon lunch in my opinion.

P. &. M. P.Amazing food. My husband and I went for a delayed anniversary celebration. It was very busy at the restaurant (for a Wednesday evening that speaks volumes in itself) but they were able to accommodate us. And oh my goodness I'm so glad we chose it. I had the small (however it wasn't so small) caesar salad to start and it was stunning. Unbelievably fresh, sweet and tasty. My husband had pepperoni which he said was also delicious. We both had the same main, just cooked slightly differently, fillet steak strips in a beautiful rich sauce, served with fries and a salad. So gorgeous. He finished his, I couldn't quite manage to finish mine. The portions are very generous. One of the best meals we've had in a long time... And we were so impressed that we've booked another table for two weeks time when my husband is back in Cork again, so that we can take family with us. What a little gem of a restaurant.

R. S.Il Padrino is one of these rare places that understand the value of employing a great restaurant manager.
We came at the busiest time. The manager quickly saw that one guest was a smaller child and so still they managed to find space for all five of us at two tables - perfect.
When you walk in the ambience is warm and welcoming, the food is excellent and the service attentive - even with every seat in the house filled we got advice on the wines, were able to try them until we found the perfect white. Despite that we only ordered by the glass.

Staff were very nice. Tables are close together. We had made a reservation so there was no wait time. So all in all great night.

The decor is my favourite though - it feels like you're sitting in a cosy Italian home and it really adds to the experience!

We were looking for good food because we had struck out for nearly every meal in Ireland so far! And we stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. All the staff were super attentive and very sweet ESPECIALLY our server Danny. Between him and the amazing food, we made the easy decision to make a second reservation before we even left the restaurant:) I HIGHLY recommend the chicken lasagna! If we ever go back to Cork, we’ll 100% stop at Il Padrino again.
D. S.On a road trip out west we were getting our fill of beef. We found this very nice Italian restaurant. Excellent pasta and wonderful mixed drinks. If you want to do Italian in Cody, this is the only place. They also serve steaks but we wanted something different, it has a very good Italian menu, expertly prepared. Service was great and the bartender makes a very good Manhattan, she was also happy to share her mixology secrets.

K. M.We called in to this little Italian restaurant just off The Mall in Cork. It was extreemly busy and we had no reservation. We asked the manager and he quickly look and said we could have a table for two but only for 1 hour. We were delighted to accept. Quickly seated and ordered. Prosecco for my wife and Italian red for me. My wife had the juiciest fillet steak in a wonderful mushroom and cream sauce. I had penne with slices of fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. This Italian restaurant is wonderfully romantic and has a fab vibe. Staff were soo very friendly and helpful. We gave our table back just on the hour much to the delight of the owner. We were visiting Cork for the weekend an regret that this cannot be our regular restaurant It is a little gem. Highly recommend Il Padrino Restaurant for the warmth, great food and all round value. GO TEAM IL PADRINO!!

No mangey portions, it's measured with love and tastes Bellismo. Book ahead if you can, if not expect a wait as most all of Cork are trying to get a seat here. Simply delightful and beautifully presented. Moving onto the mains, my taste buds exploded, you could taste the freshness in every bite. To summarise, simply exquisite. We will be visiting again.

This is a decent Italian. I had caprese salad which came with tomato chopped into very small pieces (?) and loads of oiled pizza base - I had to ask for some sliced tomato.
The main of risotto was good, beef, mushroom and pea, also came with oiled pizza base, very large portion.
The wine list is the usual fair of cheap wine marked up 2.5, a couple of options if you want to push the boat out - €69 Barolo and €79 Amarone.
The online wine list shows a lot of wines by the glass that are not actually available, such as the Barolo and Amarone.

G. M.My wife & I were in Ireland for our honeymoon as part of a coach tour. On the Saturday night of the tour, we were on our own for food. We found Il Padrino thanks to Google Maps. It was close to our hotel & we were tired, so the very short walk was appreciated.
When we got there, the chap at the door told us they were booked & smiled as us thinking we could walk-in off the street without a reservation. Once I told him we were on our honeymoon, they were beyond lovely at squeezing us in. A reservation canceled & we were seated next to the kitchen.
To say every course was an orgasm for our mouthes would not be an understatement. Garlic bread with cheese, out of this world. Ravioli Toscani...mind blowing. Lasagne Al Pollo...beyond amazing. Atmosphere & service were amazing as well.
