Exceptional. Amazing menu, delightful to see so many fish and vegetarian dishes. Easily accommodated friend with Gluten free dishes. Great non alcohol cocktails. Staff is simply amazing, friendly, responsive. Food was great quality and full of flavour, mostly considering it was bank holiday weekend, amazing experience! Can't wait to come back!

This is legitimately one of the nicest of this chain of restaurants. Even post covid the quality of the food and service is excellent. I got the beef rib, people talk about meat falling off the bone but you couldn't keep the meat on it with a hammer and nail. Every course was phonenomenal from start to finish

It was my third time here and it was excellent as always. Staff was very nice, I went with my son (17 months) and they were all very nice with him. Food was absolutely exquisite 👌. I got the venison pie 🥧, it was to die for. Very well done and thanks again for a lovely experience 😀

Really loved my experience here. As we arrived the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The menu had a great selection which made it very hard to choose between as I wanted to try everything and it was very reasonably priced. Ended up going for pork belly for starter and fillet steak for mains, both tender and full of flavour. As for dessert the star of the show I went for the brownie, the portion was massive! Every component of the dessert was clearly homemade. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to Cork.

This resturant provided a wonderful atmosphere that felt both relaxed and modern as well as delicious, modern takes on classic dishes. Finally make my visit to this iconic location to try out local authentic Irish cuisine, which was fortunate for me as they did not disappoint. Arriving at the restaurant around 7pm, already packed with patrons enjoying their dinner. I had ordered an raspberry Earl Grey float as a starter, that follows by a roast hake dish. The seafood item was splendid with all the fresh ingredients accompanied each other well, thus intensifying overall flavor, what a pleasurable gourmet. My strawberry glory dessert had left me with a high note and remark for this place.

The staff were clearly under strain with the numbers coming in, and I am reviewing 4 stars based on one experience. Excellent food. Had the seafood pie, bacon collar and the starter mussels. The seafood pie was filling although it didn't look like it was going to be. The seafood is packed into the bottom. The pie itself was a good texture with a crisp top and fluffy middle. The bacon collar had a good balance of flavours, sweet and salty. The mussels came in a coconut milk sauce that was one of the best I've ever had. Just delicious.

Food was fantastic - I had the bacon collar, and my husband had the fillet steak. Both were cooked to perfection, as were the accompaniments. We found it difficult deciding which desserts to have - they all sounded really nice. In the end I went for the chocolate peanut butter caramel tart; my husband had the passion fruit cooler. We both washed them down with the dessert cocktail, a whipped White Russian. We also drank a pint of the pale ale (himself) and a pichet of the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc (me). This was a lovely meal and I'm so glad we found this restaurant. We'll definitely visit again if we return to Cork.

After seeing all the rave reviews and recommendations from our host we decided to eat here for our dinner. Do not have the Autentico by Convas organic vino ecologico wine. The wine tastes like vinegar. The steak was alright, the seafood pie was I thought very delicious. The chicken was a bit too dry and tough.

A very enjoyable experience from the moment I arrived. The romantic facade put a smile on my face straight away, a wonderful place to sit outside, relax, eat and breath in the city. Inside is equally as impressive decorated, every table was occupied and the energy was captivating. All my experiences with staff were pleasant and we were very well taken care of. The cocktail menu, with extra warming winter additions made it tough to order just one. I had 'The Night Jar' their take on a bourbon whiskey sour, it tasted amazing and came in an oversized tumbler which I loved! I got to taste a lot of the menu as we were a party of 10 with 2 kids, everything was interesting. Scallops and black pudding deserve a mention as well as the spiced chicken and cake. I had a perfect 8oz fillet steak, everyone enjoyed their meal. Definitely a great experience for families, parties, romantic couples. Intend to stop by for lunch soon!

We went there for lunch and it was packed. We ate at the second floor, which was a bit of a disappointment. But the food.... wow. I had the lamb tagine. It was truly incredible. The texures, the flavours, they all mixed SO well. The lamb was extremely tender and it was beautifully presented. Sadly, my friends didn’t like their meal as much as I did. The hake was well cooked, but not seasoned enough and the fish and chip was just okay. For my part, it was one of the best north african inspired meal I ever had.

The food is absolutely incredible. Well considered and executed. The mussels and its sauce was the best we have ever tried! 😍 However the service leaves alot to be desired. Our waiter was gruff and miserable, giving off the impression of a man hungover; maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he was hanging like a bat who knows. Our main courses arrived approx 4 mins after we finished our starter, by the time we had spent 70 minutes in the place we already had a 3 course meal. Felt incredibly rushed and half way through dessert we were asked to settle the bill. The quality of the service would be forgiven if the price was matched, but for €120 altogether it left a sour taste. I've absolutely no problem adhering to a strict timing schedule but 75 mins for a 3 course meal and then booted out to the front to finish our drinks is a bit much. Was not a relaxed restaurant experience.

Booked a table for two the day before. The online booking process was quick and easy. The staff were polite and friendly. I was given a separate menu suitable for coeliacs. They stated on the menu that they fry gluten free food in the same area as gluten food but it was good that they did because it made my choices safer. Although this is also why it's a 4 instead of a 5 rating. I had a gluten free ploughman's sandwich and my date had a ploughman's with normal bread. It was delicious. The salted caramel creme brulee for dessert was the highlight of the meal for me. My date went for a brownie and enjoyed it too. I didn't have any reaction from the meal so I would eat there again. The price for two people was reasonable.

This place is busy so when we were told we'd be an hour we went locally for a drink. Our table was ready within the time stated. Everything was good. Service was excellent cocktails are a bit pricey but were good. 5 of us have varied starters and mains each of us were delighted. Every course was just right and timely not rushed and no delays. I've been to Market Lane a number of times and it never disappoints. The staff, atmosphere and food is amazing. The staff are so attentive and the quality of the local produce used really shows. We sat outside on our latest visit to Market Lane due to the restrictions in place (Covid19) and the heaters and seating area were perfect. The adherence to Covid19 procedures was excellent and we felt very safe.

What a fabulous place this is. We had the most amazing meal, and they were really busy too. We didn't have cocktails, but we watched the staff making them, and if they tasted half as good as the care and attention that went into making them, then they would be 'off the scale' brilliant. Had to bread appetizer, which had two great sauces: beet and pesto. The Hake fish an amazing taste, great sauce, and the side beats were crispy and uniquely done. My friend had the bacon shoulder, with sides, also done exquisitely well. Desert: Cake and strawberry meringue, great ending!

Jesus Christi. Mama Mia Let me go! i gotta do the fandango. This was special! I mean the presentation with the squash puree and the mash, with a beautiful bed of cabbage, and on-top of that like a king on his throne, was the bacon collar. This literally must have been cooking for a week. When you put the fork in, you can take individual strands of meat its literally that tender. with it being slightly glazed with some honey or something, and paired with the purees and the crunch of cabbage. it was just so divine! was worth spending about 25 euro including desert. GO HERE. it may seem expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for.

Went for dinner with a big group. The food was excellent, the decor is pleasant, but the service did forget we existed a bit. We were upstairs around the corner, and perhaps out of site was out of mind - if you are planning on ordering lots of cocktails and drinks as your meal goes, maybe get a seat closer to the service area. They were very good about us staying late and laughing a lot, so we forgave them a half hour wait for a round of drinks.

Ordered fish curry that came with rice, and my partner had pork neck dish. Also ordered a small salad. My fish curry had a rich robust flavor and made me think of some Sri Lankan dishes. The rice was off, as it was mixed with something and I tasted butter, which doesn't work for South Asian dishes, unless it's ghee. I think plain white basmati rice with a sprinkle of chopped cilantro and black sesame seeds would have been better. The pork dish was fine, but one type of puree with another puree (I think carrot and turnip) - mashed substance with another similar texture was too much. Maybe a side of fresh coleslaw Asian style instead or Thai inspired cucumber salad... The small side salad was actually pretty terrible for 5 euros. Leaves were not fresh and the dressing was boring. Easy to fix. If produce is difficult to obtain, given the pandemic, best to remove. Great service, and outdoor sitting was comfortable. Would probably try other locations (it's a large chain)

I got the vegetarian chili dish after our lovely waitress recommended it and it was the nicest chili dish I have ever had - it was so good I am still salivating over it now :) I have been to this place a few times before about 2 years ago and, back then, every mouthful of every dish I would get was delicious! Third or fourth time here. Always visit alone when travelling with work and staff always welcoming. Never seen this place at less than full capacity and queues almost out the door! Be warned, no reservations for tables less than 6 people. The wait for a table seems reasonable. Good for the lone traveller as you can eat at the bar and feel less self conscious! Plus usually no need to wait :) To the food. Brilliant. Never had a bad meal and menu changes often. I'm a beer drinker and as well as the Murphy's synonymous with Cork, there is a wide range of house brewed ales and lagers. These are highly recommended, especially the weiss beer and Wisdom ale. I shall be back.

Upon entry, I was greeted by a lovely blonde haired hostess who really brightens up the place and makes you feel welcome...as do all the staff. They were really attentive, and look as if they love their jobs...which is always a good sign of a great restaurant. I had the bacon collar and cabbage. Wow! Perfectly slow cooked and served with infused mashed potatoes, cabbage and veg puree. Had an amerciano to finish. If your around the Cork City area, check it out. You will not be disappointed! Menu has changed, very much for the worse, I'm afraid. I had the beetroot cake. It was rather tasteless. My wife had the bacon collar, it looked like a big ugly ball of meat and fat. Another had the hake which was decent enough but there was no standard battered fish which they used to be there. A few old favorites are still there French Onion soup, Bread and Butter pudding and they still have good microbrew ale. All in all it is just too fussy and frankly not good enough to be gourmet. They would do better to bring the menu back to the plainer, tastier fare they used to do so well.

Mussels very nice but could do with a bit more chilli and ginger in the thai broth. Saddle of bacon was superb. Sri Lanken fish curry lacked spice and was overpowered with tomatoes. Fish and chips were good. Fair prices.

Excellent, no-nonsense restaurant which always seems to deliver great service and great food. Being a Cork restaurant, the attached bar refuses to serve Guinness but Murphy's is actually nicer anyway. Highly recommended.

A gem in the heart of Cork city. I haven't been to many restaurants in Cork's but this one was in a league of his own and well topped many good restaurants I have been to.The place was packed even it was only weekday, but certainly worth the 20 min wait for a table. There are numerous good option on the dinner menu and many fish dishes that all sound nice. Although, I ordered the wild boar and red wine ragu with pappardelle. It was superb and utterly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The roast chicken and mash and veg was very tasty. Cooked perfectly. My nephew has Spagetti bolognaise that he said was very tasty. He aaked me to photograph his empty plate as proof. Staff were friendly and proffessional. Id reccomend market lane for lunch. 2 years ago: Rating ⭐⭐⭐ Had salad. It was 12euro which is ok. But the salad consisted of lettuce ham hock meat and a hash brown which had boiled egg in it. They cud have tried a bit harder.
