E. C.This is my new favourite place to eat. Lovely food, pleasant staff, original menu. Have been here a few times for breakfast, lunch or just a cuppa and the place is always packed. Very reasonably priced. The sweet potato fries are to die for and the flour less brownie is amazing. I drive across town for this place!

M.On a recent visit I had a very positive experience ,I had the perfect cup of coffee with a relaxed atmosphere fantastic food and great value ,it can be very busy at times probably due to the quality of what's been served the presentation is extremely professionally done no matter what you order ,the staff are very friendly and engaging a perfect hidden away gem. You can also visit the art gallery upstairs and the beautiful church just ask. Worth a visit. especially if your on a the Shannon estuary Way trip.

Wonderful cycle lanes to the restaurant.
Spotless, well illuminated, spacious, cosy, comfortable, beautifully decorated restaurant.
The staff were so warmly friendly and positive about my bicycle and hiking rucksack.
I could park my bicycle safely within the building, just literally steps away from where I was seated.
I was warmly greeted; and asked my host what she would recommend.
The dish of Salmon with mild sweet chili, mixed leaf salad, and avacado was swiftly served, expertly prepared, handsomely presented, and simply delicious.
The price was very reasonable.
I cannot say enough compliments about The Milk Thistle Restaurant.
I'll be back on Tuesday.

J. C.Had lunch today. I had the lamb tagine and my husband had the special which was smoked haddock in a delicious sauce with onions and sliced potatoes and veg on the side. The food was amazing; delicious, hot and thoroughly yummy. The service was excellent with friendly people all round. A lovely setting in a quaint art gallery within the grounds of the old Mungret college; loads of atmosphere. Cannot reccommend this lovely restaurant highly enough.

M. F.Amazing food in a quirky little restaurant! It's off the beaten path but so so worth finding. Had the thyme roasted chicken sandwich with herb dressing and lemon mayo served with homemade crisps. The raspberry Roulade kept calling my name and I'm so glad I gave in to temptation. It melted on the tongue. Light, sweet and slightly tart with a creamy center. Luscious crème anglais and a dust of powdered sugar over it. Divine! Everything looked amazing and the menu is packed with tasty choices. Wish it was in my hometown. 😁

j. o. k.I visited The Milk Thistle Kitchen today the 20th of May. Firstly I was impressed with the great variety of choice on the menu. I decided to have the salmon salad. It was the best and most delicious salmon salad I have ever eaten. The portion size was very generous. Loved the squash, avacado, green salad and dressing and generous amount of salmon. Also enjoyed the coffee afterwards. Very reasonably priced. Very good quality value.

b.We found this place by accident while looking for a playground to let the kids run during a driving trip. Was a delightful find! Very good soup and sandwiches, quick service and a quaint setting inside a Christian school. Loved it!

E. F.This restaurant is a gem! If you're in the Limerick area, I'd highly recommend a visit. It's in Mungret College & it has a lovely atmosphere. I've eaten here a number of times as I was working in Mungret College on a number of days since mid January. The food is delicious with lovely fresh salads, hot dishes and last time I was there I had roasted butternut squash soup with coconut milk and the Milk Thistle's brown bread. My favourite is the open salmon sandwich on brown bread with side salad & pickled cucumber. Great coffee and the desserts...yum!

K. H.Stashed away in the old lofty Jesuit Collect Mungret the Milk Thistle is a real find in a location devoid of fresh tasty food options with plenty of parking .
Attentive staff, simple menu with fresh ingredients. Carrot and squash soup, chunky home made brown, loads of salmon in open brown with an excellent rocket and mixed green salad, Grilled halloumi with hummus amd beetroot on toasted sourdough another great lunch option, oversized chunky home made chips or very well seasoned sweet potatoe fries as a side order. Have also visited for breakfast for eggs Benedict, pancakes and when you request well done crispy bacon..... You actually get it. .
A lovely find.
Coffee here is also good. We will be back.
