Very nice decor, fantastic food (the salmon teriyaki bento and karaage were both delicious) and a very affordable place to eat too. They were out of things to make a cocktail we ordered but that's no big deal.

We love this place! Especially good is their Volcano Roll, unique and delicious, gorgeous presentation... almost too good to eat! Service is always lovely, great today with server Moon. Recommend if you want some authentic sushi and miso! A++

This was my second time in this restaurant. I love how fresh everything is, the size of the portions, the fast service.. everything here is so good!

The restaurant environment is very clean, the waitress——Moon is a very friendly person , there are really huge cuttlefish in the noodles! Sushi is also delicious! This dessert is made of matcha. I heard that it is very hot, and it was great after a try!

Lovely and attentive staff! Great food. Good location and interior. Will come again for sure.

Friendly staff. Outside seating was available. Rolls were good, Tonkatsu Ramen was average, Rice bowls were quite good.
Four saki options on the menu and Asahi available.
Dessert looked good but we didn't have room to eat any more!

This place have the best japonese food I've had in Dublin! Foods came super quick, great stuff, cleaning, good price...etc! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I came here the other night by myself to have a bite to eat in between studies, and ordered a sushi bento and a couple of sides. The food was absolutely delicious and really reasonably priced, and even though it was a bitterly cold night and I was seated outside, I wasn’t cold at all, thanks to the heaters and the glass protecting from the wind. The best part of this place though was the staff!! They were all super friendly, helpful and kind, and for someone who often feels awkward dining alone, I felt so welcome and had a lovely meal!

This is my nth visit. The food never dissappoint.
The staff are all warm and nice.
The service is fast and prompt.

The food here was the best Japanese food I've had outside of Tokyo!
Delicious! And not too pricey.
K. J.
Authentic Japanese food and fantastic service at very reasonable prices. The fish is of impeccable quality and the dishes are made and presented beautifully. I have never had better softshell crab!
M. F.
The fried sushi is 20/10 so good! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Excellent authentic japanese food. Best gyozas I’ve had in Dublin
Same with the ramen. Tasty and delicious soup and the toppings were high quality
The sushi was big and really good.
The staff was extremely nice
Selection of japanese drinks and beers. Also dessert is a must
We wanted to try the mango mochis unfortunately they run out of them
We had the chocolate fondant and it was also delicious, served with a matcha tea ice cream
Top quality.
We left with our bellies full and it was only 25 per head
M. V.
Excellent service, even better food. Best rice I had so far, so full of flavour. We will be back :)
R. L.
Excellent food, I highly recommend this place.

This dining experience was outstanding. The service was wonderful the waitress advised which dishes were gluten free. The food was authentic and delicious and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this restaurant and particularly if you require gluten-free
T. G.
Excellent overall. Softshell crab was spectacular. Pork belly was tender and perfectly cooked. Halibut was a bit overcooked. Nigiri and sashimi were spot on. Ramen was about average compared to all places I've been but it is probably the best in the area. The matcha molten lava cake was awesome with their black sesame ice cream. Entrees cost a little under 20 Euros on average. Definitely worth a look if you're craving Asian food!
D.
Amazing place! It has its charms. It is small but warm and pleasant. The food is good (if you like Japanese type). Deserts are delicious. Price are a bit high but still worth of paying. Service is on highest level. I am recommend to go there at least once
R. K.
Fantastic food, staff couldn’t be more helpful and even helped us with choosing food from the menu that was gf 10/10

really great food, fantastic service and a great price for the food, experience and location. generous portions and delicious rice too! will def visit again.
Food came out so quickly, piping hot and fresh. The staff were excellent and so welcoming and helpful- they very quickly packed up our four dishes when we said we were running late for a bus.

My favorite and also the only place I eat sushi at in Dublin. The sushi is wonderful, their chocolate cake is also to die for. The staff is very kind and service is very good. I recommend making a booking as they are usually busy.

Hospitality of this place is excellent, staff were were really good and you feel comfortable to approach. I noticed they go one step forward in their hospitality.
Decor, nothing much to say but ambience was relaxed and comfortable.
Started our course with nice cold and bubbly prosecco and edamame. Starter gyoza which was perfectly cooked, the dumpling was soft and crispy, the filling was delicious. Second starter was bread coated capelin, this dish was bit over coated with bread and I personally feel the fish was lost in the bread. Mains were combo platter of sushi and sashimi was delicious and very good quality of fish and we ordered for another main ham and crayfish Makiroll, I was disappointed with this dish and I feel the ham really din compliment the Cray fish in this sushi. We finished it with mango panacotta which was soft light fluffy and tasty. My overall experience was good and hospitality was great and good value for money and will return back.

We had the most delicious meal at Banyi on our last night in Dublin. The food was amazing, the ambience was relaxed and the staff were brilliant, attentive and helpful. I can't wait to visit Dublin again just to eat at Banyi.
N. G. F.
Really good food served, quick service and options.
However sushy options are only the specials: it is difficult to find real Japanese sushi rolls.
Nonetheless, the food is good.

We booked our table at 3pm last Saturday for me and my twin sister’s Birthday late lunch; although we arrived earlier the staff accommodate us. We’ve ordered Yaki Tori for our starter (it was okay), for our main course was Tori Kara age with lovely light miso soup and Special Combo – Chefs selection of Uramakis (one of the best Salmon Sushi I ever ate in Ireland).
I highly recommend Matcha Fondant for the dessert; it will never disappoint any adventurous foodie’s taste bud. Overall, our Dining experience at Banyi was excellent; it made me fall in love with Japanese food over again.
J. F.
From staff the the atmosphere, and finally the food 👌🏻 would definitely recommend this place if you like Japanese cuisine. Their Sake is very nice as well. Would definitely visit again
M.
A delightful Japanese restaurant that has the best of both world, food and art. The moment I entered the restaurant I noticed all the dope art pieces decorated all over the place. I tried their chicken katsu don with onsen tamago and they executed that very nicely. I was also very impressed with their matcha fondant, a take on the popular lava cake. Just wow. If you get the chance to eat here, don’t forget to try it! Superb service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend
S.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!❤️Honestly it was and still is my most favourite place to go for sushi or a small bite . Food looks amazing, tastes amazing and the presentation is gorgeous .
A. A.
Great food, great service! The prawns and calamaris are really good for starters. The sushi is fresh and i recommend the one with avocado!

Update from 30.06.2019: came here with a friend for a third time and another great experience with delicious food! Best Japanese place around!
Apart from the fact that they serve a delicious food, have a great and diverse menu and that the staff is really friendly and welcoming; I am rating this place with 5 stars as it delivers the best price/quality Japanese food in town.
I have tried many other places and I love Japanese food, but in my opinion there is hard to find as good place as this one for sushi/donburi... in town... Try on your own!
O. K.
Tried this place due to good ratings in goggle, but for me it’s just okay.
We tried the Tonkotsu Ramen, Chicken Thigh Teppanyaki Set and Sukiyaki. The pork served with the ramen didn’t taste really nice but the rest of the food was okay. The teppanyaki comes with a sauce which tastes good.
Portions are okay and waitresses are all nice.
N. H.
Loved the supreme platter and salmon katsudon. Their salmon melts in your mouth and the ebi tempura ramen was perfect. Try the matcha lava cake, it's heavenly. The taste wasn't well balanced between the sauce, cake and ice-cream. Loved it!
A. S.
Splendid sushi spread and the salmon sashimi melts in your mouth like candy floss. You can end or start with a blast with the Matcha lava cake. Disclaimer: go for the cake if you're a sweet tooth as it's tear jerking.
M. A.
Lovely place, casual and simple! Food is unbelievably good! Can't wait to go back

the greatest Japanese food in Dublin.
I’ve tried plenty of Japanese restaurant, and I actually found out this place is the best. I love it. the foods are beautiful and gorgeous. we had Donkotsu ramen and dynamite roll as a main, and had a dessert the fondant one. was amazingly nice.
B. C.
Great place and atmosphere. My first time trying sushi and I loved it. Will definitely go again for some more
N.
Traditional japanese food with style.
Unfortunately a bit expensive.
When you want to eat some japanese sushi or other food with style this restaurant could be interesting. Everything tasted nice. but as i said, it was a bit expensive (I've added pics of the menu from 2017, so have a look yourself)
T. “. H.
Really enjoyed the food at Banyi and the service was great. Been here a couple of times before and still good. One thing I will say is the meat quality is a little meh. The chicken was a little fatty and chewwy and the beef a little stringy, not so bad that it's inedible but definitely not the best quality compared to the rest of the stuff.
V. S.
Lovely place, best Japanese food in Dublin, very traditional seasonings, the waiters are helpful, friendly, always explaining the dishes and fill our empty glasses without we need to ask, always paying attention on customers need. I went for a sushi class, very simple and quick (30min) and after enjoyed a 3 course menu, from the starters to the desserts food was delicious, looking forward to go back soon!
Starter I had steamed chicken dumplings (guioza), main course was a sushi chef selection, desserts was a match cake with azuki beans ice cream.
Pictures of the result of my sushi class and the dessert, I forgot about taking pictures of starter and main course...
F. M.
This place is great, the food is amazing and the customer service is the best in Dublin 👏🏻. Been here for the third time and I am looking forward to come back again soon
M. Y. N.
Great sushi like always. And friendly and attentive service too. If you want a better and more impressive picture to your picture, ask them for dry ice to be included! 😉
Edit: went back again and had a nabeyaki udon as part of their early bird dinner menu...recommended! 🙂
A. A.
Best Japanese place in Dublin! Volcano sushi is a must. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient.
S. L.
A great experience! I would very happily go back to this place! The staff are really lovely and the food is fantastic! We had been told that the food for some of the dishes comes served in a boat and sure the inner child in me asked if we could have out meals served in these boats. To our delight both dishes came in a boat to our amusement and our waiter too laughing at how much fun we were having out of this feature. Great staff and food! Just go here! :)
P. K.
Absolutely love this place. Never disappointed with my orders and their vegan menu is really tasty too!
D. R.
Itadakimasu! Wow.. me and my wife enjoyed the food here. A great Japanese cuisine at the center of Dublin. I love the Sukiyaki beef ramen. The meat was tender, the egg was flavorful and the tofu was delicious! I would also recommend the Imperial Roll! Crispy jumbo prawn, the succulent eel and savory tamago(egg). Amazing! I will definitely come back to this place. By the way, the staff were amazing! 🍜🍱🍤🍥😋
P. P.
Really good Japanese food. End up going two days in a row. First only own and after with work colleagues. If you are looking for good Japanese food, you can't go wrong!
R. P.
One of my absolute favorite places to go for sushi in Dublin! Fantastic food, people and location. Never had a bad experience with them!
K. T.
Delicious food served by very kind staff who were more than happy to help with any questions or cater to any requests! We were lucky enough to dine here while it was quiet and got a great seat next to the window. The wait for food was notable short and the menu has more than enough to satisfy even the most fussy of eaters.
K. J.
My favourite in Dublin. Nothing more just perfect. Staff attention, food quality, timing. Always baked when I'm in the city.
J.
Polite staff and very good menu. Pleasant seating outside with heat lamps and cover.
W. U.
The food was excelent. I recommend the Ramen and The desserts... My tea matcha vulcano was amazing, one of The BEST dishes I've Ever had.
T. N.
Good place for a quick lunch with lots of interesting pictures all over the walls and windows. Atmosphere is fine and staff is polite. However, lunch could be better.
P. D.
Supermarket sushi in US is better than what this reaturant is serving. Very disappointing. Is there any decent sushi in Ireland?
N. S.
Nice restaurant in temple bar. Very cheap Benton box, nice cooking of Japanese specialities, nice curry don, and very nice maki. The waitress was very kind and carefull. I really enjoyed the mango cheesecake...
S. A.
Lovely staff, great food.
L. D.
Exceptional tasting food, fresh, good portions plus the staff are very nice. 2nd time to go and I will be back again for sure.
S. P.
Great place for Japanese food, they have a large variety to choose from. Ordering sushi and a main course is too much for one person. Its really close to the main road from liffy.
m. m.
Lovely place in Dublin city centre. Amazing staff! The food was super fresh. Gorgeous pork Gyoza, and every dessert is made from scratch! We will be back for sure! ❤
M. S.
Exceptional sushis, very fresh and tasty! Staff is nice and friendly.
Even desserts were divine!
Would blindly recommend 👍🍣

The service was great and super quick,we got very well welcomed and were served superfast. The food was super tasty and well done. The sushi was very tasty!
L. P. L.
Food is great & worth the price. Love their Lava Fondant Cake (Matcha) & red bean ice cream, keep coming back for it. Staff are all so nice & accommodating.
I. P.
Great Japanese restaurant in Temple bar. No sushi fastfood but a proper modern japanese cuisine. Cozy, warm, clean, quick service standard prices for the location. Will surely be comig back
K.
Really great sushi. Good friendly staff and very reasonable !
N. N.
Tasty food, really friendly staff but the interior could do with a clean and updating. I was at a hen party downstairs also and it was so much fun. They kept wine we had brought but not used for us to collect the following day- really decent.
D. M.
Hands down the best sushi I've ever had in Dublin
J. B.
One of my favorites japanese restaurants in Dublin. Signature rolls are great, specially the tiger roll.
If you like ramen try the tonkotsu ramen. It's really tasty.
And the matcha fondant is a must for those who love the taste of this tee.
T. S.
The best sushi in town, food is very nice and also a good price.Friendly and nice staff. It's always a pleasure to come here.
S. T.
amazing service!! love whoever served me over the phone absolute impeccable service and helped me out big time i think it might have been the boss whoever you are you're the best!!

Banyi has been one of my favourite places to stop in Dublin for about 4 years now, every time I visit the city I feel compelled to go in for some sake and bento or a delicious bowl of ramen to refuel for the day ahead. The staff are always so pleasant and professional, the menu is diverse and the specials are always eye catching. As you eat you're surrounded by oriental and abstract art that distract you from checking your phone and really adds to the over all atmosphere and dining experience c:
5/5
Much love

Came here for dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the service personnel were attentive. The food came quickly as well. The sake cocktail was delicious, and the tonkatsu ramen was okay but not authentic imo, and I have had many many bowls of ramen in California and around the world. I would say that the noodles were slightly overcooked, the broth was not thick or flavorful enough, the eggs and pork were not stewed in flavors like it should be. Overall a delicious bowl of noodle soup, but not very authentic as ramen, hence the 4 star.
s. w.
Had the salmon nigiri,. It was good rice was a little light on the vinegar but fish was good. Service was excellent. Will not the best I have had but good. Nice sake selection.
R. A.
100% would recommend coming here. The ramen, Udon and sushi are amazing!!!
A. B.
Love Japanese food. Going to this place on a regular bases. Recommend you to try this place too.

Best sushi in town
Amazing service
Almost visit
I know sushi trust me the best !!

Nice decor and friendly staff. Food is also very delicious. The prices are quite reasonable considering the location.

3 years ago my then boyfriend(now fiance) and I went to Banyi, It was packed and because of that It was tight. We ordered ramen and we asked for kimchi even though at the time It was not on the menu. It was very satiating and delicious.
Now in 2021 I have made up my mind that It has some of the freshest sushi rolls in Dublin, if not Ireland. I cannot fault their sashimi either. We order them often enough and even though It is takeaway It arrives perfectly! Often with more than enough chopsticks.
By taste you can tell that their fish is of good quality and stored at the correct temperatures. They also have a lot of variety in sushi rolls compared to other restaurants (something people who are just starting to get accustomed with japanese food would be more likely to try). The drivers that deliver for them are courteous as well.
I however I have not retried their bento boxes, ramen and rice bowls. So I am not sure of their quality. Though overall, what I have ordered has been served well. This place should get more stars.
秦.
starter yaki tori is good, but one of the main dish, i believe it is kinda of beef, but i m not sure it's fresh or not, it taste very sour, and terrible. but the best thing is they change the main dish for me, thanks a lot otherwise i can't enjoy this evening.😂
D. E.
Exzellent service, very kind people and very good sushi. 👍👍👍🍣🍣🍣
M. C.
Just finished my sushi masterclass with a friend and loved it! Seriously interactive the staff are lovely make it really easy for you everything set up and you get a 3 course dinner all for €39 seriously good value. I’ve already ordered a sushi making kit and can’t wait to get started. Only criticism is needs some chocolate on the dessert menu but that’s just because I’m a chocoholic. Definitely recommend to anyone lovely evening out
M. F.
Very nice sushi and good service 👌
A. F.
The prosecco I got seems like from Tesco, so sweet, horrible. However their menu is huge in options and the staff always kind, smiling and welcoming. This place is minimalist but small
O. A.
Decent sushi friendly waiters but price a bit high.
C. D. B.
Good food, good service...I can just say TRY NOW !!
P. S.
Tasty and authentic, would happily recommend it to anyone. The lunch menu has recently added a selection of donburi
D. F.
Best sushi in Dublin. Last time we ordered online due to covid-19. Food still amazing but they didn't provide chopsticks. They say you have to "click a button" to order them in the website. I called them and they send the chop sticks very quickly but remind me "next time click the button". Really, guys? I order a 50 pieces of sushi and you can't include them by default? They justify it is for "recycle reasons". Come guys, it's not that expensive. Listen to your customers. It doesn't make any sense not including chop sticks by default when people order sushi. Even the cheap Chinese restaurants include them. And you are a top Japanese restaurant in Dublin.
E. S.
Best quality Japanese restaurant. Fresh and tasty food.
A. C.
Sat outside at tables where they did not try to cram people into, so it was a comfortable quiet space. Perfect service, checked in on us but not over bearing. The food was so good, very well priced , the Chanan was the best I have tasted. A gem I had not heard about until today and will be back very soon
A. A.
Tasty Japanese food, cosy environment and good service. Looking forward to come back!
B.
So far it is my fovorite place for sushi in Dublin city center.
E. M.
This a real good discovery! The daily deals are fab 🥰 staff is really friendly and portions are just perfect..
C. T.
The staff always make the experience pleasant and the food is just outstanding! Go there once and you will return time and time again.
A. W.
The sushi variety is amazing here. However I got a tempura here once and it was not very good. The batter was too hard and had too much of it. Practically covered the entire veg. Sushi is fantastic, would recommend coming here for that. Staff are nice.
S. C.
A bit overpriced and the service was mediocre. The menu is good but Musashi or Izakaya are better.
P. H.
Excellent food and service. Had an amazing meal here and the sake cocktails were great too.
M. G. (.
Great sushi and deserts (especially chocolate fondant), free edamame as a starter. I'll definitely come back!
C. M.
My work Foodie group when to a sushi assembly class and followed up by their 3 course meal. Great instructor with good tips on keeping the sushi together. The food and service was great! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to such a large group.
Y.
Banyi will always have a special place in my stomach.
I've dined with them since the beginning when they were established. Albeit not a regular, every visit has never failed to satisfy my cravings. If you are a lover of sushi and Japanese cuisine, do give this a try and I've never been to anywhere else despite recommendations given. If I were to choose, I'd choose Banyi anyday.
The staffs are friendly and the place is small but cosy. If you prefer dinner then take note to make booking to avoid the waiting. The food is served within reasonable time frame, the presentation is great(if those things matters to you) and their dessert option is also good. I particularly love their molten lava chocolate cake. It is an absolute heaven with the matcha ice cream. If you're not a fan of Japanese cuisine in general and you're not up for sushi or noodles then it's best to choose to eat somewhere else. ☺️
A. M. m.
Staff were so friendly and the food was mouthwatering. We had a fantastic experience here and I would definitely recommend everyone going here
N. L.
Fantastic restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about this place. This was the best dining experience we had in Dublin. The staff were very attentive and extremely friendly. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere with wonderful decour. The food was wonderful. My wife and I had the 3 course meal and it was delicious. The sake cocktails were great and the beer was great too. The food was a little pricey but for a nice night out it's well worth it.
J. R.
The service is great, the waitresses give you full attention. The dishes are OK, nothing special, taste wise. Sashimi could be thicker, and the noodles with more personality. The ice cream, with red beans and green tea flavours are great tho.
N. D.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere! Nicest sushi I've ever had, presented very creatively - I won't say how, I'll leave it a surprise (though I've just noticed the review below gives it away!)! Even though we were just using a deal voucher and on a very tight drinks budget the staff treated us like their guests of honour. They were funny, friendly, and very accommodating of my complicated allergies and vegetarianism. The restaurant walls are decorated nicely with fantastic illustrations and there's a really nice buzz without it being noisy or crowded. Looking forward to going back some day!
p.
I’d like to eat here every day. Food is top notch authentic. Amazing value. Service is incredible, so friendly and bring you ice cold water as soon as you sit down with miso soup. We ate here twice this week during our trip to Dubs. Thanks !
B. R.
Rang late enough on a Friday and the staff were very accommodating and arranged a table for 2. Service was great from the start and throughout the meal. Fish was fresh and the sushi was well made with care and great flavouring. Paid a reasonable price for a wine and had an unforgettable mango cheesecake with pineapple sorbet dessert. Highly recommend
R. K.
Staff were nice and attentive. Food was great too. Nigiri was top class!
A. R.
Now this is Japanese food. This is my first time here, I was impressed really impressed. The menu was near endless, such a variety if dishes and in very comfy and cosy surroundings. Really friendly staff and well priced too. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food. I never noticed this place before but I never pass it again if I fancy a snack or meal. Genuine authentic Japanese food. You go you will enjoy the experience (I'll bet my hat on it).
M. C.
The staff are very nice. The food was ok but a bit "low cost". We ordered a sushi platter and a bento box and the quality wasn't the best.
H. T.
Excellent gyoza friendly service. Loved the rice bowl with chicken katsu
a. g.
Probably the best sushi in Dublin and not too expensive. Staff really polite and doing a great job. Efficient and smiling which makes you feel they like their job and you are not bothering them.
S. B.
Quaint boutique Japanese restaurant with an amazing traditional Japanese menu. They offer daily special, one specific for lunch and another for dinner. I love the warmed edamame served to you as your browse the menu. Their chef takes great pride with their food presentation and portions. The customer service is 5 star and they can accommodate any special occasion!
J. S.
My rating is only linked to the vegetarian food.
Food:
They have an entire vegetarian menu, which you can request. I tried the Agedashi (3 out of 4 piece of tofu were good but the last one uneatable, felt like too pasty), the gyozas (good), the vegetarian ramen (the soup was slightly sour and the noodles were alright however it's the first time I saw pieces of tempura in a ramen bowl and I didn't like it. It quickly got soaked and pieces were everywhere) and finally I got the futomaki vegetable (very good).
Staff:
The staff was lovely and helpful.
T. B.
We visited Banyi twice on our weekend visit.
First for lunch where they offer a great range of Bento boxes and sushi, and again for the dinner service. Neither time did we leave disappointed.
The food is very well crafted and tastes dance on the tongue.
Lunch selections are very well priced but be sure to book for an evening as they tend to be busy.
-. S.
They offer Japanese cuisine which you don’t find in Japan. Still, it’s the best Japanese”ish” restaurant in Dublin.
V. B.
The staff is amazing! I've been to this place 5 times in the past year and the service was always immaculate. The food is great, everything always tastes fresh and looks delicious. It's rarely crowded in Banyi, so I find it a good place for a quiet date or a catch up with a friend.
E. S.
After a long day of travelling we felt like something light, refreshing and authentic. We were not disappointed! I enjoyed a lovely noodle udon, and gyoza, and my husband had the sushi rolls. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
C. O.
Got a groupon for a 5 course tasting menu here this evening. GREAT food, fab wine and even better service. Waited a long time for the 1st course but the place was busy and when it came out it was SOOO worth the wait. The sushi was so fresh and everything that came out to follow was just better and better. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about everthing on out plates including the accompanying wines. I will definitely be back.
c. d.
Booked a meal for 6 for some birthdays around the same time. From the time of booking, asking about any special dietary requirements and asking questions about the menu options, they were always quick to reply.
When we arrived, the waiter couldn't have been more attentive with refills of water and wine and taking her time to go through the menu explaining the dishes.
Food was beyond expectations and so reasonable too, €300 for 6 people with drinks. We had a mixture of dishes and we all tried each other's and not one was bad with the komchi seafood udon dish special being everyone's favourite.
Highly recommend and will definitely be back
N. S.
Incredible artwork brought over from Japan to match the incredible sushi that they serve. I also had a hot sake like I had never tasted before. It had a really amazing aftertaste to it. Really great, fast, attentive and friendly service.
F. K.
I have been walking past this one (or multiple?) guy who was holding up the advertising sign for this place quite a few times. There was once that he was eating some kind of donburi from the shop, and it smelled really great! Today I saw him again and decided to git it a try. Not disappointed at all. Delicious and authentic food, as well as nice and attentive staff. The toilet might be a bit of a challenge if you are tall, but otherwise really clean.
P.S. I had the mixed tempura and Karaage—can very much recommend.
L.
The sushi was very good. Lunch deal is great and service was great as well. The decor is a bit dated and wouldn't go there for the atmosphere.
R. M.
Fantastic! Very surprised to find one of the best sushi restaurants we have ever been to in ... Dublin? Tis true.
Everything was delicious ... from things like a simple California roll, to the complex items on the menu.
Very well done.
A.
Awesome staff, really cool contemporary cocktails using sake (I'm not a huge sake fan but the few I tried were amazing), and very fresh fish. Everything we ordered was 5/5 but the highlight was the sashimi.
Staff were top notch as well. Tourist friendly place (so if you're a local, that could be annoying).
F. M.
Nice food! I found that so many Japanese people here.
M. I.
Food that they serve is delicious. Especially beef slices. Meet was so soft and delicious. Service was amazing as well. My colleague required to charge his phone and waitress helped. She even bring twice my colleague phone whenever someone called!
M. D.
Good Japanese food in the heart of Temple bar. Staff is nice.
J. P. :.
amazing food staff were very friendly and it was not to expensive
F. P. (.
Good quality japanese food. I had early bird bento box and it was very tasty. The selection of sushi in it was quite unsurprising, but it was tasty and rice was good. The location is nice and central but its still on nice quiet side street and the decor is very nice. The service is very good indeed as is common in many Japanese restaurants.
J. M.
Very good authentic food. Great selection of Japanese and other asian drinks(mainstream booze served too, but pls try Sake here). Super friendly, highly trained staff and great location. What else one could want from oriental gem in the heart of Dublin?!

Nice, good food for decent price which makes it a recommended place to get some asian fusion.
H. A.
Incredible service, I loved the place and the food was really nice. I recommed above all to have sushi better than noodles, which are really good but if you are a Ramen fan, probably you'll rather to eat it somewhere else. There's big chances to come back 🤘🏼
E. A.
Having been to a Sushi place the week before and left with my Wallet much lighter I was blown away by Banyi!!
My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch on Monday. I must say the service was more than hospitable yet not intrusive, and the food was just fantastic. I highly recommend the Dragon or Rainbow Rolls.
Cant wait to go back!!

Delicious food and perfect services! The prices are even better! If you want to eat a very good Japanese food, this is the place.
C. D. C.
My favourite Japanese restaurant in Dublin! Why? FOOD is AMAZING and SERVICE is TOP, Terry the manager is so friendly always taking care of customers, they've nice vouchers deals, great location, cozy place, I could keep going... Highly recommended!
N. A.
This place has the best, most authentic japanese cuisine I can find in this country. Their Sushi menu has the one thing every other restaurant seems to miss about japanese cuisine - fish *variety*. The rice is properly seasioned, the fish is fresh and tasty.
C. c.
Lovely staff , great food .
W. S. M.
Fabulous place, but very small so make sure to book in advance ! The dragon roll is a must try, it comes with dry ice smocking effect, that's so cool. Staff is very friendly, menu quite diversified. Highly recommend this place if you like Japanese food!
T. O.
10/10. Really great food and the service was excellent. Above average.
Well done and best look going forward in the new normal.
S. K.
We had a surf and turf voucher for Banyi. It was a set menu and the food was very fresh and delicious. The service was great, very efficient and friendly. We will definitely go back.
C. C.
So far, I've visited Banyi at least 10 times and I will surely return.
It's in a great location easily accessible from Temple Bar or the Quay and the restaurant itself is nice and I would even call it romantic. Decorated with many Japanese accents, it has about 18-20 tables with plenty of room between them.
Once you walk in you are greeted by a waiter and usually the cooks will even say "Hi" since the kitchen is partly open and is at the entrance.
Once you're seated, you usually receive green beans as a pre-meal snack and the menu.
The menu itself I find varied with many selections of sushi and sashimi, as well as plenty of cooked food.
Prices are not high, but they're not cheap either. I would classify them somewhere in the middle, so not bad overall.
Overall, it's a great experience eating at Banyi.
J. M.
Excellent service, very friendly and kind waitress, wonderful food, typical Japanese food with wonderful seasoning. Table set in the smallest details.
R. W.
Always stunning service and stunning food.
D. S.
Amazing food, and great staff! Highly recommended.
R. A.
Went to Banyi with my girlfriend on Monday, was totally blown away. The staff were very nice and more than accommodating, the food was out of this world and very reasonably priced especially as we had eaten a similar meal the week before and paid heavily for it.
I highly recommend this place and their Dragon Roll!!
Cant wait to go back!!
H.
Giving 3 stars because they have very friendly & attentive staff. Personally, I think their menu is over priced for the poor quality food you receive. I wouldn't want to eat their again, only enjoyed the Miso soup.
W. Y.
The sashimi is so fresh that melts in your mouth. Staff are absolutely friendly and very attentive. Nice meal- no complaint. The chocolate fondant is something to die for! MUST TRY!! Nice decor and nice ambiance. Good place to go. Used to go Yamamori often but now switched to Banyi for sure!!
M. I.
Fantastic food, service was so good
A. A.
Not bad for Japanese restaurant in Dublin. Serving portions was slightly smaller than what I am used to; but overall flavor, atmosphere, and service is authentic.
j. d. s. f.
Staff is incredibly kind, fantastic food at a reasonable price.
J. O. R.
The first time I visited Banyi restaurant the place had just opened a few weeks earlier, I have always been a fan of Japanese cuisine and could not wait to try it out. It was such a great experience, the food was simply amazing - a great tasting range of sushi, some very tasty chicken gyoza & an amazing bento box but it simply wasn´t just the food that keeps me going back. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful, always willing to cater to your every need. Whenever I return I always try something new from the menu and I am always greeted with a smile. Banyi does not only make great food, it also encourages the arts and I attended the Yokai exhibition some weeks ago which featured some amazing illustrations. All in all a great place to go with a good atmosphere and some great food.

Amazing sushi. Must visit in Dublin. Service is professional and nice. Atmosphere is good, but the interior and outer appearance do not really fit the rest.
V. O.
Best sushi in Dublin. Staff is very friendly, great service, and food is really good. Definitely recommend it.
H. J. H.
having arrived in Dublin from the south pacific region where great sushi is in abundance, I have found it really difficult to find any sushi establishment in dublin which presents sushi of high quality and of the standard i am use to from home and at a reasonable price... until i stumbled across Banyi in Templebar, it is great! Fresh produce, served at the perfect temp, stunningly presented, absolutely AUTHENTIC, generous portions and VERY well priced. I have noted others complaining about the mayo and wasabi on this page, I could not disagree more with them.. I felt as though "finally! real wasabi! and yummy mayo! complimentary?! bonus!"... Basically, Banyi is the real deal, not a euro-version-of-sushi, but is actually authentic Japanese! Love the place! ♡ I recommend the Dragon roll, Rainbow roll, also they provided my friend with fantastic vegetarian options and did a little extra for them on request, fabulous!
P.
Great service and amazing food. We will visit again for sure.
M. C.
Amazing fresh, tasty and real japanese food. Staff friendly and pleasant.
I recommend 100%
Ps: Please do not change your service and the quality of your food, everything is perfect.
E. M.
This is an amazing place, great quality sushi at a reasonable price. The deserts and the drinks are delicious as well. This is my go to restaurant when I'm craving nigiri and sashimi.
P. K.
Excellent food and staffs, probably the best sushi you can get in dublin. Nothing to complain except that the tissue roll in the toilet was placed in a wrong direction, should be in the "over" position.
S. E.
We where there for thdir tasting menu, tge staff was super friendly and tentative. The food was served in just the right pace so there where no long waits between courses. All the food tasted amazing and fresh. Booking in advance is recommended as the place is always packed
R. S.
Top choice for sushi, hit and miss for the ramen (but when they get it it's great)! definitely one of the best Japanese in town!
S. C.
The sushi here is probably the best in Dublin. This restaurant is a must try for those who like sushi. I got the macha fondant for dessert and it was amazing.
R. K.
Nice place for sushi - recommend ot!
N. T.
nice environment, a little packed but we don’t mind. The waiters and waitress are all so nice and friendly :) and most importantly the food there are so good, it’s a place we will visit again and again.
M. M.
Very good Japanese restaurant. Nice staff and wonderful bento boxes. The sushi and maki are very good. Credit card accepted but cash discount given. Special lunch bento boxes available for a decent price.
M. S.
Lovely and accommodating staff, great value for money with amazing food aswell as very large portions would definitely recommend.
D. P.
Perfect food and great service!
P. R.
I had the Salmon Teriyaki Bento for lunch - it was okay.
The sushi and Teriyaki salmon were very tasty although I think the portion size was a bit small. I was disappointed with the Maguro Isobe - dry, not fresh or tasty. The plastic spoon for the miso made it feel cheap, what about getting wooden ones?
Also, I don't think it's great value for money. You can get a better bento in Musashi for €2 cheaper. For taste I think Yamamori is still the best around.
T. R.
Great food! Desserts are to die for and portion are abundant. The service was on point: the staff was very friendly and polite.
A. L.
Whole vegan menu!! Incredible service!
M. C.
Went with my Girlfriend on Friday night, was the 2nd time I was there and again it was a great night, great services, great food and all staff are friendly. Best Japanese in Ireland really put yamamori to shame. From the services to the food every thing was perfect
N. H.
Lovely place, great food, but a bit pricy
A. I.
The decoration is nice and interesting. The food is good, but pricy. What I ordered served my companion and I, not just myself as indicated by the waiter.
L. F. B.
Definitely recommend the ramen here, both miso soup base and tonkatsu were very rich flavourful broths with slight crispy cooked pork, and the shoyu egg was perfect.
B. G.
nigiri was very good and the noodle soup too!
D. M.
The Tempura prawns, gyoza, noodle bowls 🤤
N. B.
Menu didn't exactly match what I saw online, but the sushi was amazing
P. B.
Been there many times over past few years. Excellent sashimi in Dublin. Reasonable prices. Recommend a visit.
i. m.
Excellent food and great service
P.
The bento was very delicious and affordable, service was excellent as well. They have different bento set at different timing. If you craving for some Japanese food, this is a place worth visit for.
N. T.
great variety to choose from, high quality food :)
A. B.
Very nice restaurant nearby the well-known Temple Bar. The ramen were amazing and the drawings on the wall are beautiful. Just to take a look on them, I recommend you to go there :)
A. G.
I had a very good dinner and delicious gluten free miso udon. The place is nice. Restrooms should be renovated.
A. H.
Really lovely staff! The sushi and sake were fantastic ☺️
B. B.
Excellent Japanese restaurant in the center of Dublin, I tried the Bento box and was pleasantly surprised, really good food at reasonable price.
Lively staff and a cool locale.
T. G.
Wonderful restaurant with a wide variety of food and beverages. Great relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and very reasonable prices. Extensive lunch menu with daily specials.
L. K.
Very reasonable food, fresh, healthy and delicious. Staff are so friendly and efficient. One of my favourite restaurants!
Q. S.
Really nice place and people. I would recommend it. Would give 5 stars if the sushi would have been a little more cold... but still !
L. R.
Hands down one of, if not the, best noodles in town.
Try the Kimchi Udon, absolutely tasty!
And staff are sound. Very polite and friendly.
K. G.
Fabulous meal with attentive service, we will be back! Thanks guys!
S. K.
Really good food but I felt bit uncomfortable when stuff all the time standing and looking at customers.

B. B.
Amazingly varied menu. Food is superb and excellent value and the service couldn't be better. Could not praise it Enough!
T. B.
Great food. This place should get a lot more press. After eating at every Japanese restaurant I could find in Ireland, this is the closest thing to authentic Japanese food I've eaten.
G. M.
Very friendly staff and the food is absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend this place they also have bento box with all the goodies
J. “. O.
Food was fine, though personally not mad on 'cold' elements of Japanese cuisine. No tap water available so had to pay for every bottle consumed.
E. G. H.
The sushi was excellent, the sake cocktails a pleasant surprise and the wait staff were very friendly and professional.
L. K.
Good Japanese food in the Temple Bar. It's a bit pricey, but the interior looks good. They doesn't allow the electric cigarette, thats why I go with 4 stars.
O. S.
Excellent food and service. There was a slight delay in the food but they were kind enough to give us an extra sushi roll on the house!
P. y.
Food was tasty but they didn't have a broad sushi selection. The service was quick.
T. L.
Always very good, been there several times and both service and food are always excellent! Definitely getting five stars!
I. N.
The best sushi I had in Dublin. Staff is friendly and helpful as well. Definitely will return.
S. A.
Portions are so big, I made a mistake and ordered 2 sushi orders. It was really good but a bit pricy.
N. W.
Amazing food and fabulous cocktails! Really lovely atmosphere and brilliant service. Will definitely be returning soon :)
L. O. C.
The best japanese food I ever try! Excelent quality of the food and the waitress was really friendly and attend to us. Thank you!
L. G.
5star service and food totally recommended
S.
Lovely food. Great service!
J. O.
Quality Japanese food. Delicate flavours, so fresh, I've been a few times now and I have yet to be disappointed. Not very pricey either.
f. m.

Very very very happy thank ofcouse I’ll be back soon
D. G.
everything is fabulous, friendly environment, sashimi is nice fresh, only problem I want to say is mayo on sushi, I think that kinda kill the taste of sushi. part of from that all perfect.
n. i.
my first experience with Japanese food..and I loved it! the staff are so nice and friendly
A. B.
Sushi master class was well presented and really enjoyed sushi that we made. 3 meals course afterwards was simply yamm..
A. T.
Separate vegetarian menu available which is really nice to see instead of the usual 1 or 2 items marked with a (v) on the menu. Will definitely be going back.
A. C.
Ordered a Bento with Seabass tempera, which is fresh, crispy, and not oily at all. Highly recommend for a hot meal in cold days.
P. L.
Very good sushi and gioza, attentive and polite service. Skip the cocktails though, they are not the strong side of this place.
C. M.
Very quick service. Good prices and staff. Has the lunch bento. Very tasty and served very quickly. Will diffinlty be going back soon.
i. b.
amazing service, great food ! highly recommend the dragon rolls🤩🤩🤩

Great lunch set menu, they also serve matcha lava cake which I consider as the one of the best dessert in town.
l. S.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and the staff are lovely as well. It's slightly on the expensive side but the food it worth it.
所.
I' m Japanese and I believe their food has the almost same taste as original one among other Japanese restaurants in Dublin. I recommend it :)
V. F.
The sushi is average, not very tasty, prices are medium to high, service was good, atmosphere just ok
M. M.
Tried this place while wandering around in town. Really good sushi and Japanese dishes. Was a pleasant surprise!
S. M.
best sushi spot in town!
N. C.
Ramen needed some salt to get some flavor and that's not ideal. The eggs and the pork were great though. OK ramen overall
C. E.
Welcoming and friendly staff, amazing ambience and the best sushi in town. Never disappoints.
D. B.
Staff are very friendly and nice, the food is real Japanese and it's fresh and very tasty but the place is a little bit run down
J. W.
Banyi is a consistent bet for great sushi. The style is quite traditional, with a good range and non-sushi options, too.
C.
Excellent food and very nice staff.
The master chef class is good fun for groups.
N. S.
I've got my #1 sushi reserved for another, but this is a close 2nd. Great service, central (unlike the other), and the quality is amazing.

N. D.
The sushi is amazing but the other things on the menu isn't the best but it is good.
M. K.
Finally found the Sushi place in Dublin. Had to walk a while to find it and it was worth it if you like it authentic
A. M.
Food was delicious here and we had a very nice sake cocktail, service was excellent but one thing I was not happy about was that we were offered eater and the waitress brought us some water in glass bottle later in the meal we got another one as we see asked did want more, it wasn't until we asked for the bill we realized they change €5 per bottle which I think is absolute ridiculous and not even being told there was a charge kn the first place.
E. b.
Lovely staff very helpful, delicious food and very welcoming. Would highly recommend.
C. P.
Very nice food at a reasonable price. Great bento with miso for €9.50. Excellent service.
D. L. M.
Perfect place to have a Japanese meal or dinner and very lovely and polite staff.
J. M.
The sushi is undoubtedly delicious but the service was quite slow, and the atmosphere was a bit dry (on a Thursday night).

The menu don't have too much things and is very expensive. The quality is good, but not my favorite Japanese.
